Issues of attempting to run a WiFi attached iPad 7x24?

Anyone know of any issues in attempting to run a WiFi attached iPad 7x24 in a retail environment? Ours seem to drop every few days requiring a power cycle. No issues reported with other WiFi equipment in the same space.

I feel the exact same. I just got my new iPod Touch on Monday. Couldn't get it working at all on Monday, then yesterday I restored it, and last night I excitedly got to finally play with my new toy....then today...can't get it working at all. And I didn't change anything on it. I haven't taken it out of my house either....and all other wireless devices are working in my home! So frustrating. I'm thinking about returning mine too!

Connection Issues - Attempting to run Onyx

Hello All,
Just now getting around to attempting to use Onyx.   Got v2.1.4226.28167 attempting to run on win 2K8 R2 or WIN7. vCenter version is 5.0u3.
I have Onyx on a test vCenter W2K8 box.   I launch Onyx and specify the Https of the vCenter server (localhost) I select to launch the VI client from Onyx and ultimately the Client times out or a return is generated that the login was incorrect. The Onyx Console does not display anything.   The header of the window show it connected to the vCenter server on port 443
In a test against PowerCLI
I am pointing the VI client to http://localhost:1545. It shows a connection to the local host , but then when a cmdlet is run shows and error "Not authenticated"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, logging into the client or powerCLI via default ports is not a problem.   I am using domain credentials.

"A script is already running" while attempting to run more than one item

We upgrade recently to ODT 11.2.0.3.20. Since then, attempting to run more than one item from the Solution Explorer (by selecting the items, right-clicking, and selecting "Run") results in a popup error of "Oracle Developer Tools. A script is already running". If many items are selected it results in many error messages and only a random few of the items are actually executed on the server. Also, choosing "Run On" now results in it prompting for the target database for each item selected (rather than once for all items selected like it used to). This all used to work fine in the earlier release we were using. Has anyone else run into this? Any fixes? We used to use multi-select and "Run" or "Run On" to deploy multiple items at once, but this no longer works -- doing one at a time works, but if you have hundreds of items to run, this quickly becomes unusable.

Like I said, this used to work fine in the older versions of ODT. It seems like the new version is attempting to execute multiple items at once on the same connection simultaneously, thus resulting in the "A script is already running" error. The old version used to be smart enough to execute them one at a time -- so something changed in a more recent version to completely break "Run" and "Run On" when you have more than one item highlighted (even just highlighting 2 items and choosing "Run" runs the first item, but then gives the error for the second item).

Error detected while attempting to run job

Hi everyone,
One of my users tried to run a rule in Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3 and an error occurred:   Error detected while attempting to run job
When I went to Essbase, I found that when I launched the rule an error appeared:
ERROR - 1006059 - Invalid block header: Illegal block type -- Please use the IBH Locate/Fix utilities to find/fix the IBH problem.
I read that it could be an issue related to corrupted blocks. I'm not familiar with MXL and I read that there are commands that I could run. Someody could provide me help?

Attempt to run automatic update to LightRoom 5.7 fails with error 1402

When I opened and started to work in LightRoom 5.6 on my Windows 7 64-bit PC a notification was displayed in a popup alerting me that a newer version, version 5.7 was available and asked me if I wanted to install it. I clicked yes, and was taken to an Adobe page to download the upgrade. So far, so good. The 976MB “Lightroom_5_LS11_win_5_7.exe” file successfully downloaded. Sadly, when I attempted to run this exe, it failed to complete, displaying the following error message in a popup.
Error 1402.Could not open key:
UNKNOWN\Components\139C3899EB73E6C3DA23B8E687
898618\2C99E910090657044B644883E7FA075A. Verify
that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
While the exe file provided by Adobe did not harm my existing LR 5.6 installation, I “think” I would like to install their Automatic Update, but am unable to do so.

Hi psale,
Try to right click on the installer, and choose Run as Administrator.
See if that helps.
Otherwise this looks like a permissions issue, perhaps you don't have write access to your registry?
Try creating a new admin user, and see if you can complete the install successfully there: Create a user account - Windows Help

Ever since the 6.0.2 update - every single day there's been something new going horribly wrong. For the past couples weeks it has been the browser hanging or crashing for no apparent reason and now this error hitting the browser screen over and over a hundred times a minute. I've used firefox since it began and NEVER had any issues previously. This 6.0 upgrade is a downgrade and is making me seriously look at Chrome (never IE - why I switched to firefox), though making the switch will be a pain due to all the apps I rely on and thousands of bookmarks that would need to be transported. Please mozilla fix this because using this browser has suddenly gone from seamless to frustrating pretty much overnight!

Error 2093 attempting to run Quicktime (Windows 7 64 bit)

Hi, first time post.
I have a HP Pavilion running Windows 7 64 bit (not sure about SP number). Anyway, after installing Quicktime I'm getting the 2093 error when attempting to run it. I see 2 entries of the .qts file, one under c:\program files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem, and C:\Windows\SysWow64. I've done the steps recommended several times, run uninstall, make sure there in nothing in \temp, but problem persists. I did a search but did not find a prev. issue similar to mine.

It's never been clear which permissions are damaged in these cases, so it might be worth just setting the Player to always run as an administrator.
Right-click on the QuickTimePlayer.exe again, but this time select "Properties". In the compatibility tab, check "Run as administrator", and click OK. You should be able to launch the Player "normally" from now on.

PAM authentication failure when attempting to run job

I'm attempting to run a scheduled job from grid control (version 10.2.0.5.0) against a Solaris server and it keeps failing with:-
Error Log
ERROR: Invalid username and/or password
Output Log
LOG: Local Authentication Failed...Attempt PAM authentication...PAM failed with error:
Despite entering an os username and password into the preferred credentails for this server which work when I try to logon to using putty, I can't connect to the server using the preferred credentils screen either. However, the agent can upload data without any problems. Can anyone point me in the correct direction as towards a resolution for this issue.

Thanks for the information, Oracle support came up with this technical note also. Its a bit strange as it mentions using the shared object for ldap in the pam.conf even though I'm not using ldap. Out of interest, do you use grid control, Solaris and pam authentication ?

DNS Server Issues with Comcast and Airport Extreme wifi routers

I am having significant challenges with 3 Airport Extreme (latest gen) wifi routers and my Comcast Xfinitity service. It once worked just fine, but now I continually get the blinking amber lights stating "No DNS servers" for each of the Airport Extreme (AE) routers. My configuration is:
Coax cable -> Comcast Xfinity cable modem -> ethernet to 16-port gigabit ethernet switch ->->-> ethernet to 3 Airport Extremes around the house direct connected with switch
I have many wifi devices throughout the house (iPads, MacBooks, home automation devices) as well as direct-connected devices via ethernet (one PC connected to AE router).
Each Airport Extreme router is set with these settings in the Airport Utility app:
Internet tab= Connect using: DHCP
Wireless tab= Network mode: Create a wireless network
Network tab= Router mode: Off (Bridge Mode)
I have attempted to put the Xfinity cable modem in bridge mode, and use the Airport Extreme to serve up the IP addresses, but still lost internet connectivity.
I have also attempted to set the Network tab=> Router Mode to "DHCP and NAT" but get "Double NAT" error issues as well.
I have tried using the Comcast DNS server addresses (75.75.75.75;75.75.76.76) setting on the Internet tab for the routers and do end up getting a green light, but NO internet connectivity.
Lastly, I have tried using the Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8;8.8.4.4) setting on the Internet tab the routers giving me the No DNS servers amber light error and again, no Internet connectivity for either wifi-connected or even ethernet connected (directly to Airport Extreme router) devices (like my PC) despite getting a green light on the router.
Any this point, it really seems that these AE routers are NOT compatible with the Xfinity cable modem or service… (and yes, I've tried power-cycling and restarting the modem, and then the AE routers, MANY times to little avail).
Should I move one of these Airport Extreme wifi routers to before the switch, and have the other 2 in Bridge mode after the switch? Do I need to setup a specific range of DHCP reservation addresses for each different AE router?
Appreciate any insight anyone can share with this aggravating DNS server issue between Comcast & multiple Airport Extreme wifi routers.

I do not see anything wrong with your basic setup.. the issue is indeed the WAN ports of the AE.. AC version are having problems with some network equipment.
You have listed a stack of things you have tried.. but I want you to move the ethernet patch cable you use on each AE to its LAN port instead of WAN.
Restart the airport when you do that.. and then see if it becomes stable.
In bridge mode the airport moves the WAN port to LAN.. but the WAN port setup itself seems more problematic than the LAN ports.
There are other methods we can try if this does not work.. but in the end.. I would be tempted to take the whole lot back to apple.. they need to start making equipment that works with standard modems and switches.
BTW what brand is the 16 port switch?? Does it happen to be managed (smart type)?

Client Communication Issues when attempting to retire old ADCS Certificate Authority

SCCM 2012 R2 running on 2008R2. Single site.
We've been migrating our environment to a new SHA2 Microsoft CA and we're seeing issues when attempting to retire our old SHA1 CA server.
We've had a fully functioning PKI integrated SCCM environment for some time. No issues. All our clients have client certificates deployed via group policy.
We've spun up a new CA and installed new SHA2 distribution point and webserver certificates on the SCCM server.
We have added the new Root CA certificate to the trusted list in the site properties (both are now listed)
We have confirmed that new machine builds are receiving SHA2 client computer certificates via group policy.
Everything runs happily with the two CA servers configured and running. We would like to retire the old CA server but when we shut it down we find that all older clients (with the SHA1 cert) stop communicating with the management point.
Clients with the newer SHA2 computer certs continue to function. We assumed that the old CA server didn't have to be running for the SHA1 certs to still function. Are we incorrect?
Anyone able to explain what's happening?

No, we don't have CRL checking enabled in the SCCM site settings. As I understand it that tells the clients to check the site server against the CRL?
We think the issue is due to IIS attempting to check the client certificates against the CRL on the old CA (which is currently turned off)
For now we've temporarily disabled CRL checking in IIS while we attempt to migrate the old CRL to the new CA. All our clients are now talking happily to the management point.

Rob,
Are you running in the "split" configuration? It appears that a
non-serializable argument from the JSP tag (within the Servlet container) is
being serialized to the EJB container (for the getAdvice call).
We do not recommend this configuration for performance reasons. If this is
the case, I will open a Change Request for you so we can make this attribute
serializable.
If you can change to the non-split configuration and run everything within a
single J2EE application WLS should not serialize these arguments and you
should not see this issue.
Please provide details of any other customizations if I am on the wrong
track.
