Issues on iPad with html 5
The App packager doesn't have a config.xml file so you can't add icons, splash screens, etc.
You can do this by exporting to html 5 and packaging on phone gap, however either way I get a blank screen with a play button after the splash screen.
Can I get rride of that with code in the config file? Also, I need to go full screen it pushes it down 20 pixels when the status bar comes up on the top after the splash screen.
Also, I'm trying to stream mp4s to the project but it always tells me that the url is incorrect. Can you stream mp4s into Captivate html 5 output for the iPad for a regular web server?
Thanks in advance,
Mark H.
I haven't really tested the play button bypass, but there is a way to trigger it when running in a normal browser. Don't know if the hack works on an iPad. There are numerous threads about it. Search for "cp.movie.play()"
You can only stream from a server that is configured for streaming.

Eteresoft has a good point. I should not have posted this comment as a question. It is really better posted as a non-question discussion topic.
The new DHCP routers are triggered for a security mode when a website is visited from international networks or when http requests are sent within http requests. While this may possibly have been the case in the past, the numbers of these incidents are increasing as more people are switching form landline telephone and cable subscriptions to the internet for communication and entertainment.
The trouble is that many people do not know how to configure the routers in order to continue serving web pages. We all know Eteresofts view, he's already made it clear, that his view is that nobody should serve web pages.
My view is that serving web pages from home is a very important capability to individuals and small businesses. By serving web pages from your own computer, you can interact with customers and manage files in a way that is not possible through remote web server services.
Additionally, serving from one's own computer allows the capability of communicating with one's iPads, etc, through one's iMac...from anywhere on the internet!
While this is not a new idea, it is one that many people have not considered. When used in conjunction with iOS applications, html/javascript programming for home-based web servers offers a lot of new potential for future development.Those are certainly sound considerations when selecting different solutions to different needs. As you can tell, I'm no expert on web servers (I didn't even adjust the type and quality of the image file).
What is more important to me is the attitude that people 'don't need' certain technologies because they aren't using them, or worse, decreasing access and increasing (regulatory or entry) prices on new technology simply because people haven't figured out how to use them, yet.
I get that feeling when customer service representatives tell me "You can't". I get that feeling when companies design choices around what customers 'should' do and which services they 'should use'. Forward planning works when people are seen as the source of innovative uses, rather than the recipients of thoroughly per-planned social designs.
I have no idea what innovations might eventually come out of home web servers, but I do know what would eventually come of eliminating them. We should be looking at computers as the new telephone, at a very minimum, and with AT&T moving more rapidly into DHCP default routers, this is the time to make certain that we don't get stuck with a 'phone' into which we cannot speak...not by our current understanding of the technology, but by our allowance for the power of possibility.
As far as the machine IP assignment, I understand the assignment to my iMac was originally set at manufacture, but that pirated or knock off machines may have duplicate machine IPs. -
TS3297 Issues connecting Ipad with itune store
I am unable to connect to itune store from my iPad 3, while I could do so from my Macairbook and can also browse internet from Ipad. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated
Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.

Issue with HTML tags visible in Outlook emails
Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with a website I'm working on.
On our site, we have a page that generates emails after certain events occur. These are sent to a forwarding address on our mail server, which is then sent to several users on our mail server. These users have their accounts set up in Outlook (one in 2007,
one in Mac 2011).
We're are having an issue where these emails are displaying in Outlook with all of the HTML tags in the email visible. One of the users spoke to Microsoft support, and they remoted in and went through their Outlook settings and were not able to find any issues
there.
This issue is not global exactly. When one of the users added their email to their iPhone, the email displayed correctly. We added a Gmail account and my work account (which I also access through Outlook) to the forwarding list, and it displayed correctly in
both. When we view these emails in the server's webmail client, the emails display fine. The issue seems to be with some discrepancy between Outlook and our email server.
I spoke to our webhost about the issue, and they swore up and down the issue had nothing to do with them, and that it had to be an Outlook issue. I've had several professional web developers analyze the code that creates these emails, and they found nothing
wrong with it. Something that several of my colleagues and our webhost suggested is that the issue could be with the email headers. This is the header for the email, as viewed through Outlook:

Display issue with HTML formatted text in report builder
I am using the FCKeditor in my application to allow endusers
the ability to create formated text on reports. We curently are
experiencing 2 issues: 1. If you copy and paste from MS Word
2003/2007 it will not display the text correclty in the report; 2.
If you use the FCKeditor toolbar to insert bullets or a numeric
list it will not align the text correctly on the report. We are
using Coldfusion 8 with Hotfix 1 and Coldfusion Report Builder's
lastest build release.
Has one experiences this same issue with HTML fields not
printing correctly using the Report Builder? What other HTML
editors besides FCKeditor might we use?
Thanks,
Dan VanWierenCan you tell me how to use </td> for each values
Give me your example report - using before or after report

UPPER(:DESFORMAT) = 'HTMLCSS'

-- when generating to other format,

Of course, if it's not acceptable to remove the HTML tag from your database fields, you could develop a procedure that would translate your HTML tags to the good formatting (eurk... ;-)

I have just bought an iPad, partly to check that my websites work OK on mobile devices. When I load a page with several jpgs (e.g. one 1920x720, then 8-10 800x800px), only the first few are shown. If I remove the large one, that sometimes fixes the problem. Behaviour is similar for Safari and Chrome. Is this a website issue or iPad?
Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I'm using a new Wordpress theme that is meant to be responsive. The large image is for a header, than you scroll down to see the rest, one by one. Some one the pages work OK on my iPad, typically the old ones where the maximum image size was 500 x 500. It's the new pages and those I've updated that are causing the problem. On the iPad the large image loads, then a couple of the small ones become visible as I scroll down, but then darkness (rather like my knowledge level).
Being new to IOS and iPads, I'm trying to work out whether I should be looking here, or amongst the Wordpress stuff for a solution.
Here's the website with its new theme: http://www.new-zealand-pictures.com/ -
I just updated my Firefox browser to Firefox 8. I am a college student and practice with HTML and CSS for class assignments. The fonts in all my html documents are being overwritten online by your script typeface. I did not have this issue in the older version. I use an iMAC running OS10.6.8. How do I resolve this issue?
Starting with this, you have errors in your CSS code.

2 Formatting issues with HTML forms
I have a couple of issues that we can't seem to get past with adobe livecycle designer 7.0. We have an internal form, rendered in HTML, that is emailed between departments, and the data entered is stored in an XML file that is created using the code similar to the following:
protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request,
HttpServletResponse response) throws
ServletException, IOException
oOutput = response.getOutputStream();
try {
FormServerWithXML fsb = new FormServerWithXML();
fsb.processForm(request);
File file = File.createTempFile("Form_", ".tmp", new
File("d:\\xmlFiles"));
BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(file));
out.write(fsb.getXMLString());
out.close();
When we use a numeric field and try to format it with any display pattern containing dollar signs, decimals, etc... the xml data for that field isn't being written to the xml file. All of the other fields are being written properly.
The next issue we're having is that with HTML forms, when we create a multiline text field we are unable to limit the number of characters that are allowed in the field.
I'm pretty new with this, so please send some advice my way if you have any.
Thanks,
ChadThanks Rakhi, but that did not resolve my issue. Below is new out as per the thread suggestion and this is not what I wanted.:

I have an iPhone 5. I am trying to pair it to my iPad with Retina Display. However, the devices do not detect each other when trying to pair over Keynote.
My apps and iOS are up-to-date. What is the problem? I have even tried wi-fi. I successfully paired the device to my iMac and it works.This is for you and any other person that needs it. I didn't know how to use it properly.
Therefore, I guess it is operator error on my part.
You have to go into your Presentation tools and enable the remote from there.
Thank you for the link. -
please please can some one tell me how do you charge ur ipad with ur laptop. it doesn't chage wen I put use the wire. only charges when I plug the socket in. Iv never used an ipad b4 so don't really know much. Hope some one knowz.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
