Issues opening AE CC project with CS6 despite the "save as CS6" option

Hello all,
I wish I wouldn't have to bother anyone with my noob question but I tried it all. I've been through the FAQ, the Search tool, lost myself on the Net for hours and... I can't find my problem resolved anywhere. It makes me feel sooOOo lonely.
So, I know "After Effects CC (12.0) has a feature to save projects in a format that can be opened by After Effects CS6 (11.0)".
BUT, as I used that precise feature (as well as the XML feature) and still have to face the impossibility to open my project file on CS6, I wondered if... anyone could help me to find an explanation at least. Or maybe even a solution.
I know about the pt_OpenSesame script, but it seems to be less efficient than the feature "save as CS6" itself (as said by Adobe on several forums), and... it costs money
Any idea why this "save as CS6" feature could possibly not work ? Any link to allow me to understand ?
Could it be caused by the difference in OS updates ?

Thank you for taking time to answer me.
I am trying to open a copy, not the original file. This copy is named after a new name, totally different from the name of the initial project.
As I said it to Szalam, the original project is saved in a AE CC 12.2 version and the copy is (not) opened on a AE CS6 11.0.4...

How can open InDesign CC project with CS6 after trial has expired?

Created a project with an InDesign CC trial. Trial expired, would like to continue working on it with my registered CS6 version of InDesign. Problem is that the project will not even open due to a lack of backwards compatibility. In theory I should be able to just open CC and save my project in a format compatible with CS6, problem is that since my trial has expired this is not possible. Completely stuck. Even tried to uninstall and re-install after hearing about a trial restart offered back in January, not working. Any ideas?

That would be great, except for the fact that all of my project files are on one machine. So that would not solve my issue. Unless I am unaware of a way to move my entire project without the original files

I have a big presentation with many video mov and avi files created with Keynote 09. When trying to open the file in the new Keynote the procedured crashes and Keynote crashes abruptly. It seens that an avi file is not converted. I have no more the old Keynote 09. How can this problem be solved?

Found the solution. The hardrive name was changed to "/" which is not a recognised file path character. So I changed the name to "Mac" then I was able to already open all files in excel and word

Issues opening .idml file in InDesign cs6 originally from CC

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has had "issues" when opening an .idml file in cs6
which was saved out of InDesign CC.
More specifically, the following:
Some image links acquire an Opacity Effect of 43%.
And not every image in the file — only a handful (10 out of 50) images.
The (original) InDesign CC file has their opacity set at 100% (ie - no transparency applied at all)
Are .idml files typically buggy like this when opening in previous version?
Is this kind of irratic behavior to be expected?
Is there a fix?
Any input would be most appreciated.

I selected one of the problematic images in cc, exported as idms. Then, created a new page in cs6 and placed that snippet file. It did not acquire the 43% opcaity. I'm not positive I did exactly what you were suggesting...or if this info is helpful.

Open Captivate 6 projects with Captivate 7 error - loading video

Hi!
I have several projects created by Captivate 6 and now we upgrade to captivate 7.
When I tried to open it with Captivate 7 a Loading video window appears several times, the project is opened but I cannot to do anything because these loading videos are still in process. But nothing happens.
Can you help me?

Please open a blank project and check are you able to add any video in it .
Can you tell me the eaxct version of Adobe Captivate 7 you are using (Go to Help > About Adobe Captivate)

Help opening RAW on MAC with CS6

I can not open RAW files from my D90 in CS6 on my MAC. I keep getting the message "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." I downloaded the 7.3 Raw update and still get it and am getting when I try to open any type of photo. I am new to MAC and CS6 so it could just be me. I used CS5 on a Windows PC for 3 years and never had trouble. Thank you!!

The D90 is supported by all versions of ACR that run with CS6.
Your image files could be damaged. This can be the case if you used the Nikon Transfer to copy the files from the card to your computer, as the Nikon utility is known for corrupting the image files on the Mac.
Use either the Finder or the Bridge Photo Download to copy the image files from the card to your computer—I hope you still have the originals on the card.
BTW, it's Mac for Macintosh, not "MAC".

Opening older Premiere project with CS3 - no sequence! Like it was deleted

I am not sure what exact version of Premiere was used but I think it was 6.0 or 6.5. Very simple, few minutes and single time line/sequence.
When this is opened in CS3 it opens the project normally (asks for ".prtl" or title files), shows the Bin with all the files but there is no sequence - no edited content what so ever. The whole thing is gone.
The .prproj file has over 170 XML tags linking the .avi files and the rendered videos. I have tried to create new project with same aspect and PAL and then "import" but it does not give the sequence/time line which is missing.
Any ideas?

Can't open motion 4 project with motion 5 !

When I open a Motion 4 project with Motion 5 I get the followwing message : Le document « origine.motn » n’a pas pu être ouvert.
meaning the document can't be open ! Any ideas ?

There is something wrong with the file. Normally Motion 5 can open Motion 4 project files. Open in Motion 4, Save As, try again.

Can I open a new project with 5 or 10 bins already in the browser?

I'm wondering if I have to create and name five to ten bins every time I open a new project. Or is there a way to set FCP preferences to have a certain amount of bins and their names open every new project?

You could however, create a "template" project. If you new the bins were going to be named the exact same thing for every project.
Just create a project, set up your bins and save as "template.fcp" (or whatever the fcp extension is, I can't remember right off hand.) Keep that somewhere you can find it, and then open it up and save it as a new project name anytime you need a project with that set up.
I do this for my projects because there is another editor that I work with that doesn't keep his browser very organized, so it was hard for me to figure out where he put everything when it was my turn to come in and finish the edit. So I created a template that had bins called "Graphics" "Animations" "Music" "Sound efx" "Sequences" etc.
Helps keeps things orderly.

Cannot seem to open a new project with a height less than 100px

Surely there is not a minimum limit on the size of project I can work with in Captivate. I'm trying to open a new project that is 968 x 30 px but it will not let me and defaults back to 100px height.
Is there a way for me to achieve this or is this a flaw in Captivate? I'd be suprised if theu have set a limit on minimum height!

Hi there
Not sure if it's a "flaw", but it's been that way for as long as I can recall. Keep in mind that Captivate is really designed for capturing screens and creating things that are substantially larger than 100 px.

I am using Oracle 9i. I have a requirement where I have a REFCURSOR as an OUT parameter for my procedure. I have declared the TYPE and created the procedure.
In the procedure, I am using OPEN <cursor_name> FOR <query>;
Ideally this works in most of the cases that I have tried earlier. However, in the current case I am using a WITH clause in my query to get the results.
I need help in understanding if the above mentioned syntax would not allow me to use the WITH clause in the query.

What error do you get , seems to work ok for me on 10g

I have a project that has buttons that link to open other projects.
Once published the buttons open the project in a new window, in the drop down I have selected 'Current'
I have tried publishing my projects as .exe and setting the buttons to open file or URL and the drop down as 'current' and also just as open another project, they both still open in a new window.
Any idea?
