Issues...rattling when back is tapped...voice control just turns on

Ok...its the first time ive used my iPhone 3GS without a case...just noticed that when i tap the back i get a little rattling noise, when i shake the it i dont hear anything. Also when i use the old iPhone earplugs sometimes the voice control just opens after a couple of taps and calls...
So for the rattling noise...is this normal?
For the voice control...is it baecase i use an old iPhone ear plug? I havent even used the new one that came with the GS...since i dont realy care about having volume control...
Any comments?

I believe it is the autofocus lens you can hear as my 3GS also does that.
I am not sure about the voice control problem as I used the ones I got with my 3GS after I upgraded from my 2G and I really like the volume control on the earbuds.
Your best bet is to try the ones supplied with the 3GS and see if you can recreate the problem then you will know for sure.

Hi,
If I check in TOAD, then I see that the max size of the tablespace is unlimited. Btw, Tablespace XYZ is actually an index tablespace - dont know if this makes a difference. The max size of the data tablespace is also unlimited.
Using the query select * from user_ts_quotas or dba_ts_quotas, I dont see tablespace XYZ or its data tablespace in this result set. I'm not sure why.
Maybe giving the user unlimited quota on the tablespace might solve the problem - i dont know, but if it does, then I have to ask why has it worked all the time without this and only now it's giving an error??
The user has been doing the same thing everyday for the past couple of years and only now getting this error.

Voice Control randomly turns on

I have a problem that is driving me crazy. I purchased a 32gb iPhone 3GS about 3 months ago and I have had an issue with the voice control since the day I brought it home. I have an auxiliary audio jack in my car so I always connect my iPhone to my car stereo to play music. For some reason whenever my iPhone is connected in this way the voice control constantly comes on.
I understand that holding down the home button on the face of the phone is what is "supposed" to bring up the voice control option but that is not the case in this instance. Rather I will be listening to music, or simply pick the phone up while connected so I can change the song (but before I have actually touched any part of the phone) and the voice control will come on - stopping the song and forcing me to hit "cancel" in order to get back to the music. This is incredibly frustrating because it's happening while I drive and what makes it worse is the fact that since the phone is on voice control, and connected to my stereo, whenever I move it the sharp crackling from sound going through the microphone is broadcast through my car's speakers.
I have read through a few threads and there doesn't seem to be any way to deactivate voice control - but I could be wrong. Does anyone have any idea how to permanently shut off voice control? Has anyone else had this same problem? I can't figure out why this would be happening or what I can do to prevent it. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm having the same problem except it happens when I'm trying to use voice dialling. I speak into my bluetooth headset to dial a number and it starts up my music or other things. I did find something on youtube on how you can disable voice control altogether by downloading some program but haven't tried it because I don't know if it will disable all voice control including voice dialling or just voice control for the rest of the phone. Have you tried to power off and on? If that doesn't work and the reset didn't work, have you tried connecting to iTunes to see if it is recognized?
If none of this works you probably need to visit an Apple genius bar and have it checked out by the techs.

My iPod 5 was dropped in a small puddle of water and I put it in rice I've already checked for rust and there's nothing. Now when I charge my iPod it just turns very hot and doesn't power on. Someone help please!

Voice control wont turn off

I think i turned on a feature for visually impaired people, and i cant get it to turn off, its very annoying and i dont know how to scroll down. does anyone have anyidea on what im talking about, experienced this or can help me???

Hello. Whenever I plug in my headphones, the music speeds up, changes, and stops by itself. And then Voice Control starts for no reason. I put back Siri to see if that was the problem and the same thing happened with Siri. How do I fix this?

When I plug in my headphones the music starts to soeed up and stop ayi g by itself. Another issue is when it does stop, Voice Control is on when I don't hold on the home button. I turned on Siri because this is what started my problem (taking off Siri) and it didn't help, instead of Voice Control, Siri started to turn on. I didn't want Siri, so I put Voice Control and disabled it. I did so, and the problem still kept on going. Any ideas on how yo fix it?

I'd guess that the problem is due to a short in your earphones. Try another set.

Issue: UK format date 02/08/13 is "said" by Voice Control as "2nd August" - the date is in the calendar correctly as 8th Feb.
Steps to repeat the issue: "Schedule new appointment" using the Voice Control and add an appointment today (8th Feb 2013) - correctly added to the Calendar but the voice confirmation says "2nd August".

No voice control audio over bluetooth or FM Transmitter

I have a 3GS and actively use Voice Control. A couple weeks ago, for seemingly no reason, voice control stopped sending audio cues to my bluetooth headset and over my fm transmitter in the car.
Voice control still works but it's annoying without the audio cues. How do I get them back?

My voice control stopped responding to my bluetooth a couple of times. First time I restored my iPhone, but prefer not to do this. I tried doing a reset press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. When the phone came back up my headset controlled the voice control again.

Problem with voice control

Hello. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had issues with their voice control? Any time my headphones are in and I move them slightly or put it in my pocket it turns on voice control and pauses my music. Even if I don't touch anything it will open up voice control and turn on music when my headphones are plugged in. Or i'll put in my pocket on screen lock and the VSD will open contacts or applications. Is there a way to deactivate voice control? I have switched the settings so it won't be opened with the mute button, I made it so it's 'voice dialing only' and that didn't change anything. This is annoying because I can't listen to music on my phone or do anything for that matter if the headphones are plugged in.

Voice Control Causing iPhone4 to Lock Up

When I use the voice control to make a phone call, I can make the call normally, but the phone locks up when I am done. I cannot end the call or use any of the buttons. I have to leave the phone for a minute or two before I can even restart it. Restarting is the only way to get functionality back. Any ideas?

This is a problem with the new Macbook Pro laptops, not with keynote.
Check the forum for MBP and you will find a list of several hundred complaints for exactly this problem (mine is one of them).
Apparently its a bug in the driver or in the new nvidia chip in these models. Apple doesn't appear to have acknowledged the problem yet.
A workaround seems to be to restart with the projector (Folsom) already plugged in - works for me anyway.

Unexpected voice control and headphone use

We have two iPhone 3 G's in our household that we have used without incident up until this last month. With one phone, my husband used a new set of ear phones (not Apple) and the voice control would come on unexpectedly, over and over to the point that he couldn't listen to music. The same thing started happening with my phone this last week while listening to music with the Apple ear phones. While trying to cancel the voice control over and over, I noticed that the music files sounded corrupt. Any suggestions?

I can use my Jawbone 2 to activate voice control just fine. As if it were any other phone that has had this technology for years.
As far as using "Activate Voice Control and request(ing) whatever", the 3rd contact on my Favorites list can get me hookers and crack cocaine, so does that qualify?
Summary: Click on button at the top of my Jawbone -> Activates Voice Control -> Say "Dial. Lou. Mobile" -> Wait a few seconds. Say "Lou. Me. The usual." -> press center button on Jawbone to disconnect. -> go back to watching Sports Center.

Voice control and play order

I noticed that playing songs by artist via the voice control feature ("play artist whoever") results in all the albums being played +as albums+. By contrast, if you select an artist from the menus, and play "all songs", it plays them in alphabetical order by song.
Since I prefer to listen to albums in the original order, this is an unexpected benefit to the voice control feature.
I just wish they'd bring back the "shuffle by album" feature; I miss that.
Anyone notice any other useful quirks?
