when bluetooth headset is connected to iphone,I can't hear iphone ringing aloud when I have a call or a text. Do i really have to wear the bluetooth headset all the time in my ear to know when I have a call or a message? Why it doesnt ring through iphone but it rings through the bluetooth headsets?
In other phones, you can hear the phone ringing and if it was connected to bluetooth, you could pick up the call from the bluetooth headset.
Here with iphone, if its connected to bluetooth headset, it only rings through the headset, which means that if you dont have the headset in the ear all the time, you cannot know that you have an incoming call or message.
Any ideas - solutions - comments please?

I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. I'd really like to be able to hear both, like I was before. This is an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 (latest version, not sure what it is exactly). Haven't updated software/firmware in between bluetooths, just changed the earpiece.

Can I connect multiple bluetooth headsets to my iPod at the same time?

After 1 or 2 reboot system I managed was enter my MacBook Pro my AppleID and it is connected I managed so to have the flow of "Stream Photo" from my iPhone 4 S to my iPad 2 on the MacBook. But incomprehensible how the function "find my Mac" not recognize the MacBook Pro in "iCloud.com" or App in the iPhone 4 / iPad 2. Thus I do little "see the iMac, iPhone 4 and my iPad 2" and not the Macbook Pro !?!

  • Can not pick up sound through the Bluetooth headset microphone.

I use a Plantronics Bluetooth headset M55 connect new IPAD (IOS6.0), long press the voice dialing, SIRI from Bluetooth headset microphone can not pick up sound, still or IPAD comes with a microphone to pick up sound, SIRI does not recognize, but canfrom the earpiece of the Bluetooth headset to hear the SIRI feedback sound.Want to be able to solve this bug.

Same issue on my wife's iPhone 4S. I suspect it is related to the recent 6.1.2 iOS update (Note: I have a 3S and the update did not cause any issues).
I've tested both bottom and top mics on the 4S using video recorder and both mics work fine. Speakerphone and headset during calls also work fine. The issue is only related to the bottom mic while making calls. I can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear me. If I hold the mic very close to my mouth, the caller can hear a very low level signal.
The problem appears to be software related, not hardware.

  • No audio input or output when connected to bluetooth headset

    I have a MacBook Pro 15" early 2013 (MacBookPro10,1) and a Plantronic Legend.
Since upgrading to Yosemite (I am not 100% sure it's related, it just didn't happen on Mavericks), I have the following problem: my headset connects to the MacBook correctly, but I don't see it in the sound preference panel, neither under audio input nor under audio output.
If I open the System Information, I can see the Bluetooth Headset being recognised as such:
         Major Type: Audio
         Minor Type: Headset
If I reset the SMC and repair the headset, it works again, but that's a hassle.
Anybody else having the issue and maybe found a better workaround?

Removing and pairing again the Plantronics Voyager Legend solves the issue. But it keeps on happening again. Really annoying.
I have firmware v106 for the Plantronics Voyager Legend, which is the latest at the time of writing.

  • Could anyone connect a Bluetooth headset?

I tried connecting a Bluetooth headset to my N200. It seems to install fine and I can connect/disconnect a Skype call from the earpiece's button, but there's absolutely no sound coming in or out of it. In fact, I can see no new sound devices listed for playing or recording.
I tried updating the Lenovo driver and then also installing the latest driver from Broadcom, but there's absolutely no change.
Could anyone get a Bluetooth headset to work right?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello everyone.
I finally solved this problem. The Microsoft guys gave me this program

You have tu run it while the headset is connected.

    thank you greatly
also i would like to know what are the diffrences with the bluetooth 4.0 vs 2.1

    Hi,
I had HUGE issues with a BlueAnt Q2 on the 4, and after five exchanges, I had to get rid of the phone becuase the Apple store admited that they had "some bluetooth issues."
I still have the Q2, and I was wondering the same thing becuase I realy want an iphone.

  • I have a problem in the Bluetooth headset after updating iOS 7

I have a problem in the Bluetooth headset after updating iOS 7

    Hi,
have a similar problem here. More specifically, I am using a Plantronics Voyager Legend (brand new) with my Iphone5 (iOS 7.0.2). All apps are working great with the headset, e.g., listening to music, normal phone calls, etc. No sound distortion at all.
When I use Skype (most recent version, which is 4.12.258) the sound is very distorted, like scattered. I also successfully used the same headset with a Samsung Galaxy S3 and Skype. No problems. So, I suspect that it must be the combination of Iphone/iOS7 and Skype which messes up the sound.
Does anybody else have the same problem when using that combination of devices and apps?
    Best,
    Kurt

  • Can I connect 2 bluetooth headsets at the same time to my ipad?

My husband and I like to watch movies on our iPad when we are traveling.  I have a splitter for regular wired headphones but this year for Christmas we both got blue tooth headphones and would like to use those on the plane rather than having to use the wired.
I've tried to connect the 2 but with no sucess.  Only one is active at any given time.

No, only one headset can be active

  • System sounds through the Bluetooth headset while listening to audio

Not sure if anyone had this issue, I have read a few about cars and bluetooth connections but no mention of system sounds not operating.
I was using Motorola S9 bluetooth headset and the music was fine, but after I returned home I noticed that I had missed several text and some email notifications. The sounds operated correctly without the headset connected so, my only guess is would it be related to the Bluetooth operation?
    Thanks, Joe.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Could this be patched in the 2.0 release? I can't wait til christmas; no really, I hope they don't take that long to release the update.

  • Messages won't connect to bluetooth headset for sound output

I have a Plantronics Voyager Legend bluetooth headset that can pair with more than one device. I got it so I could switch back and forth from my phone to my MacBook Pro (running Mavericks) easily. It works great everywhere. EXCEPT, it won't work for Messages sound output. I've talked with three different Apple support people and with Plantronics. I tried a workaround I found elsewhere using Soundflower, but that did not work either. I've checked all settings, unpaired/repaired, shut down/rebooted/reset; looked for software issues; downloaded the current firmware; tried turning bluetooth off my phone to see if that was an issue; and probably some other things I'm forgetting; all to no avail.
    Any ideas?

    Following up on the above...
My S10-HD paired straight out of the box w/ my iPod Touch 2G; however, when I tried to pair it with my iPad 2, the iPad 2 would just search...and search...and search.
On page 7 of the S10-HD manual, you'll see a note saying, "To pair your headphones again, press and hold the "0" (power) key until the status light becomes steadily lit in blue".
This proved to be the key to getting the S10-HD to work with the iPad 2. The S10-HD needs to be "off", then you'll have to press and hold for around 7 to 10 seconds.
Furthermore, it appears (from my own testing; your results may differ) that the S10-HD can only be paired to one device at a time. That may sound obvious, but what it means is that you'll first have to turn off Bluetooth on the paired device with which the S10-HD is currently connected, then connect it to the other device with which it is already paired. (Kind of a pain, but I can live with it.)
Also, if there's anyone considering the S9-HD or who's had an S9-HD fail because of sweat incursion (i.e., you use it at the gym, etc.), Motorola is offering a warranty upgrade from the S9-HD to the S10-HD. What you need to know is: (1) The S9-HD will fail from the least bit of sweat entering the unit through the speakers; and (2) The S9-HD sounds better than the S10-HD (a lot better...it's a tradeoff you have to be willing to live with if you want these for exercise). To get the S10-HD if you've experienced prob's w/ your S9-HD as described, call Julie Scofield in the Consumer Advocacy Office at Motorola's Corporate Headquarters: (847) 523-5852.

  • Can i connect to bluetooth headsets to a mac mini?

I am trying to connect two motorola H730 bluetooth headsets two a mac mini for video presentations.  Basically what i am doing is teaching two different groups of people in two places using one computer. Is this possible?  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
My back up plan was to connect each motorola H730 to a mac mini and an i mac, and treat them as two seperate computers for each location.
Hopefully i was able to articulate what i am trying to do as i am barely able to understand it myself.
    Thanks.

Ahum... You will have client again and it is much easier than you think it is.
I did want to upgrade to OS X Server (Mountain Lion), but that does mean I first had to install Mountain Lion. At this point there was no server application any longer as everything from Lion Server will be archived.
If you do not want to upgrade to OS X Server, just follow my upgrade path, but stop before downloading the Server app from the App Store... Simple...

  • I'm trying to connect a BlueTooth headset to my Mac Mini. I can discover it, but soon after discovery it disconnects. Can't figure out how to reconnect. My only option seems to be re-discovery

I can discover the headset, but soon after discovery it disconnects. Haven't been able to figure out how to try to re-connect. And the help section titled "Use BlueTooth has absolutely no information on how to use it. All I can do is re-discover it. Every time I rediscover it, it disconnects shortly afterward. This headset works well with both my iPhone and iPad and has for quite some time. But it won't stay connected to my Mac.

Tried with another headset that works fine with iPhone and iPad. An LG HBS700. Same problem. It connects for maybe 10 seconds and then disconnects. So it must be a problem on the Mac. But this Mini is out of warrentee so taking it into an Apple store to get it repaired isn't a good solution. Maybe as a last resort.
Is there a way to select connect on the Mac? Everything else I've connected a BlueTooth device to has both a command for pairing and a command for connecting or reconnecting. I can't figure out how to select connect on the Mac.

  • BlackBerry doesn't recognize the Bluetooth headset

I'm posting this as a new message subject. I had posted it earlier as a "reply" to another post with a similar problem. I hope that's acceptable (new member of the Forum).
My 8700c will not recognize a SoundPort Flex headset. Until three days ago the headset worked perfectly. My 8700 transferred calls to the headset correctly. The indicator light at the upper right-hand corner of the device would be flashing blue. The device screen would show "call forwarding - busy," I'd hear a "beep" in the headset, depress the master control in the headset and I would hear the calling person in the headset. Same result if I initiated the call. All of a sudden the transfer process stopped. I thought I may have made an inadvertent change in Options but have not been able to figure out what I might have done improperly.
My first thought was that it might be the headset. I tried a new, different SoundPort Flex headset and still no connection between the BB and headset.
I followed the BB Manual set-up. Here's what the screen shows when I set-up: "searching for devices." Finds SoundPort Flex. Screen prompt to "enter passkey for SoundPort Flex." I entered passkey and clicked the trackwheel. Heard a "beep" in the headset! Screen shows "Paired devices as SoundPort Flex." Entered "Connect" Screen shows "Waiting for SoundPort Flex." (The screen never changes and shows "Waiting...." indefinitely.)
Per the tip to the other user in a similar message, under Options, my 8700 shows "Discoverable" as selected.
    Bluetooth is "Enabled."
Under "Device Properties" I selected "Trusted."
The 8700c user manual (online) says this: "Set whether the paired Bluetooth-enabled device can connect with your BlackBerry® device without prompting." I can't find that Option on my device. Is the problem that the BB is waiting for me to somehow connect manually?
One last thing: Within "Bluetooh Enabled/Paired Devices/SoundPort Flex/Device Properties" - when I click the trackwheel to display "Device Properties,"  I see only these items: Device Name (SoundPort Flex), Trusted (Yes), Encryption (Enabled), Echo control (Automatic). Below "Automatic" on the screen is a horizontal line and below that are "Services." That is not accessible. But it lists "Hands- Free unit" (twice) and then "Headset" (twice). None of those items are scrollable.
My uninformed guess is that I have accidently turned on or turned off some other Option that defeats the connection from the BB to the headset. Or maybe a software problem?
Note: I just tried the whole process over again: deleted the SoundPort headset, disabled Bluetooth then enabled it. As I look at the device right now, the indicator light is flashing blue, the screen says "Waiting for SoundPort Flex," the indicator light on the SoundPort Flex is flashing blue and, in the "Bluetooth Enabled" window, the "Paired Devices/SoundPort Flex shows the BlackBerry as connected to the headset. However, I didn't hear the "beep" as on the previous try to connect. And, in checking voicemail, the phone works fine but still no transfer to the headset.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. Bret
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Problem solved. After not receiving any suggestions from the Forum - and having no success on my own - I went to the closest ATT store (about 40 miles away from our rural home) and explained the problem to one of the ATT salespersons. He said the BB had probably frozen. I handed him my 8700c, he took off the battery cover, took out the battery, partially removed (and then reinserted the SIM card), replaced the battery, replaced the cover, handed the BB back to me and said it should self-correct, re-boot and be good as new in less than three minutes. Once the screen re-appeared, I tried to connect the Soundport Flex ear bud and it worked perfectly. I was in and out of the store in five minutes. Impressive!
Apparently "freezing" is not uncommon after the BB has been on, in his words, a "long time." In my case that would be, most days 18 hours and some days on all day/night for two days if I've forgotten to turn it off.
Anyway I'm thrilled that ATT solved the problem and hope the solution is useful to those of you who may experience the same problem.
     Bret
