Issues Upgrading to 10.8.3
Has anybody else had issues upgrading to 10.8.3 where it seems as if their are some kind of memory leek going on!!? When I use Safari or Launchpad its as if my system has crashed and I then get thick lines scrolling down the screen, I have updated this software on a late 2008 iMac. The update however works fine on my 2010 Macbook Pro apart from some slight speed issues.
I tried the 10.8.3 update on my 2012 MacBook Pro three times and it returned an error each time saying my computer restarted due to an "internal error" and I was back to the previous version of Mountain Lion. I have read a number of blogs and it eems as if this latest update from Apple is a total disaster with problems manifesting in different ways on different machines?

Hi all,
Im having issues uploading code on a WLC in a remote location. The WLC is running 4.0.217.0 and im trying to upgrade to 4.2.209.0. I have checked the upgrade path from current to new version and there is no issue upgrading directly from one to the other.
The issue occurs when I try and upload via TFTP, the Controller starts the code upload and only downloads a portion of the code, starts the extraction then fails with the following messages:
-Sanity check fails
-TFTP failure while storing in Flash
-Failure while storing in Flash.
I've done a debug from the controller and this is the output:

I've tried using a TFTP server (both 3Com and TFTPd) on a local server on site and its still fails. I've also tried using several servers
as the TFTP server and still no luck.
Does anyone have any idea why this is still failing? Could this possibly be a lack of space issue on the flash?

"Sanity check failed on file. The file was not downloaded completely! " - This error log is seen only if upgrade path is not right or if TFTP server which you are using does not support transfer of mor ethan 32MB file.
I understand that you have already tried many tftp servers. If in case, you haven't tried tfttpd32 yet, please download it and give it a try as Cisco recommends to use tftpd32 server.

Anyone having issues upgrading RFC apps from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 ?
We are having issues upgrading our simple RFC app from ECC 5 to ECC 6.
we are using the librfc32u.dll ( 710_Rel) to make a simple call to return MARD table entries.
Runs great in our 5.0 system.
When we run against our 6.0 environment with the same dll, we get garbage back in the table results... (escape characters ).
We have tried downloading the latest 7.0 librffc* ( standard an u ) . We recompiled to embrace both unicode and non-unicode. ( fyi our 6.0 environment is unicode ) . All attempts have failed to date.
Has anyone else experienced issues trying to upgrade their rfc applications?david, were you able to fix this issue? i have a similar issue. we are upgrading from 4.6c to ecc 6.0. we use a c# program that connects thru sap connector for .net v2.0. it calls a rfc function module, it connects and passes some data, but not all data to the rfc.
any help would be appreciated.

Issues upgrading from 7.5.1 to 10gR3
We are having issues upgrading from Content Server 7.5.1 to 10gR3 running a Sql Server 2005 back end (based on Windows Server 2003).
We run through the upgrade process (which completes with warnings), but when we try to start the Content Server, we get the following error:

We are looking for advice from anyone who has been through this upgrade (in the same type of environment), or who have encountered this error or anything like it. The error appears to indicate a database access issue, but we have profiled the upgrade and startup, and have proved that the processes are reaching the database. We
have also tried the install against clean and complex installs, and have tried both JDTS and Microsoft drivers without success (same error).
We have spent many days on this, and have been working with Oracle support, but are starting to worry about how realistic the upgrade is.

Dave TOracle support suggested I execute an "exec sp_changeobjectowner 'DocFormats','<SchemaName>" command against the database.
I did this for the DocFormats table only.
When I tried to start the instance, the error message stated the DocFormats table was now missing.
Inside the database, the table 'Stellent.DocFormats' was visible through SQL Server management.
I then created a copy of this table as 'dbo.DocFormats' (as it was originally), and tried starting the process again (with the config.cfg variables you suggested).
It turns out the upgrade process can now see the DocFormats table and upgrade it successfully (The dformat column is now showing as varchar(80) ).
The startup process now fails at the very next table in the upgrade list (see output below).
Sounds like a database owner/permissions issue.
Any ideas from anyone with SQL Server experience?

ISSU upgrade of Nexus 9508 impact on OSPF or HSRP?
It is my understanding that if you have dual supervisors, performing a software upgrade using the "software install" command will perform an ISSU upgrade and will be hitless to the dataplane. My question is, what happens to the control plane such as OSPF adjacencies and HSRP during the upgrade? For instance, if I perform this upgrade on the HSRP active switch, will there be a failover to my HSRP standby switch? What will happen to my OSPF adjacencies?

Most of the applications compatible with Lion are also compatible with Mountain Lion, so you shouldn't have any problem. Mountain Lion supports the latest update for Parallels 7 and 8, so if you haven't got one of these versions, you should upgrade it before upgrading Mac OS X. That application uses extensions, so it may cause kernel panics -

Issue upgrading SCOM 2012 SP1 to SCOM 2012 R2
I have been having a really fun time trying to get my test SCOM 2012 SP1 environment upgraded to SCOM 2012 R2. I initially had an issue with the DB server not accepting connections to SMB which was causing the upgrade to fail stating database permission
issues (that was a fun one to troubleshoot). Once I figured out that problem I am now getting an error in the OpsMgrSetupWizard log that is stating the following:

In the application log I am getting the following error:

I have verified that I don't have any of these installed and have even gone so far as to remove my Config man agent and System Center Endpoint Protection just in case it was getting confused with System Center Essentials.

Install HRCS 9.0 R5 with Linux Issue: upgrade Database HRCS 9.0 from PT8.52 to PT8.53

Hello. I have been installing HCM and Campus Solution 9.0 with PeopleTools8.53. Server machine is Oracle Linux 5.10 and client machine is Windows XP. My internet architecture is WebLogic11g/Tuxedo11g/OracleDatabase 11gR1. Peopletools 8.53 runs correctly in browser.
In Oracle Linux 5.10 Database Server machine, I run the scripts "createdb10.sql, utlspace.sql, hrcddl.sql, dbowner.sql, psroles.sql, psadmin.sql and connect.sql" one by one. Then I use Data Mover to load data from Windows XP into Oracle Linux 5.10 DB instance HRCS90. The Data Mover script hrcs90ora.dms completes successfully in Windows XP. Configuration Manager is set up correctly. But when I login into Application Designer, I cannot login and get the message as below:

I have been following chapter 4 task by task to do. Actually, I have run 4 scripts into HRCS90 as below:
Task 4-3-5: run rel853.sql at SQL> in Linux.
Task 4-3-6: run grant.sql at SQL> in Linux.
Task 4-5-3: run ddlora.dms in Windows XP Data Mover into HRCS90.
Task 4-6: run msgtlsupg.dms in Windows XP Data Mover into HRCS90.
Then need to run Task 4-7 to copy project ppltls84cur Project in Application Designer. When login into Application Designer with Database HRCS90 and UserID and pwd PS, I get the same error message as below:
"The database is at release 8.52. The PeopleTools being run require Database at release 8.53."
Application Designer is supposed to login by Task 4-7 to copy projects but it cannot. I have tried to fing out what's wrong as below:
In task 4-1-3: I cannot run script dbtsfix.sqr in Linux and Windows XP.
In task 4-1-9: script ptupgibdel.sql does not have the string "End of PT8.53". There is no script ptupgibdel853.sql to run.
In task 4-3-6: when run script grant.sql, table PSSTATUS and PSACCESSPRFL don't exist. There is only PSOPRDEFN table.
I continue to do task by task in chapter 4 until task 4-27 that's the end, but Application Designer still cannot login. All of Application Engine Programs and SQR Programs cannot run.
My questions are:
First, does Oracle Database HRCS90 has table PSOPRDEFN only without table PSSTATUS and PSACCESSPRFL ?
Second, what's the error by task 4-7 when Application Designer still cannot login ?
Third, why Application Designer still cannot login a the end of doing chapter 4 task 4-27 ? How to solve the issue ?

Thanks.I'm not quite sure what you are missing, but it looks like you missed a script which could cause problems. You need to look through your logs for errors. Are you running rel853 as the AccessID user? I don't know how you would trash PSSTATUS in this process.
You don't mention running this.
Task 4-3-2: Creating Tablespaces
This step runs the PTDDLUPG script, which builds new tablespaces as part of the upgrade to the new PeopleSoft release.
It creates tablespace PSIMAGE2, which doesn't exist in the datamover load you did. Oracle moves and puts around 208 tables here when you run rel853 from what I see.
The first line of rel853 is
UPDATE PSSTATUS SET TOOLSREL='8.53',
LASTREFRESHDTTM = SYSDATE
This is what changes the tools release, sometimes people just run this one update to gain quick and dirty access to a different version.
I pulled this download and ran through it myself without incident doing all the steps you say, adding in 4-3-2 which you seemed to have skipped. I built a system database.
My hcengs.log shows
Importing PSSTATUS
Creating Table PSSTATUS
Import PSSTATUS 1
Building required indexes for PSSTATUS
Updating statistics for PSSTATUS
Records remaining: 7686
After import, PSSTATUS is

I ran the other 3 quick scripts. Not sure if it was necessary, but I reset the passwords and re-encrypted them with the new 8.53 datamover for the new salted encryption and fired up app designer. It works. By the way, you should probably run rel853n, it utilizes "newer" (for PeopleSoft that is) data-types than just rel853.sql that were delivered with the 9.0 application line. Since this is a new 9.0 based app build it should be used. -

Hello. I have been installing HCM and Campus Solution 9.0 with PeopleTools8.53. Server machine is Oracle Linux 5.10 and client machine is Windows XP. My internet architecture is WebLogic11g/Tuxedo11g/OracleDatabase 11gR1. Peopletools 8.53 runs correctly in browser.
In Oracle Linux 5.10 Database Server machine, I run the scripts "createdb10.sql, utlspace.sql, hrcddl.sql, dbowner.sql, psroles.sql, psadmin.sql and connect.sql" one by one. Then I use Data Mover to load data from Windows XP into Oracle Linux 5.10 DB instance HRCS90. The Data Mover script hrcs90ora.dms completes successfully in Windows XP. Configuration Manager is set up correctly. But when I login into Application Designer, I cannot login and get the message as below:
"Security Table Manager (Get): The database is at release 8.52. The PeopleTools being run require databases at release 8.53."

I have been following chapter 4 task by task to do. Actually, I have run 4 scripts into HRCS90 as below:
Task 4-3-5: run rel853.sql at SQL> in Linux.
Task 4-3-6: run grant.sql at SQL> in Linux.
Task 4-5-3: run ddlora.dms in Windows XP Data Mover into HRCS90.
Task 4-6: run msgtlsupg.dms in Windows XP Data Mover into HRCS90.
Then need to run Task 4-7 to copy project ppltls84cur Project in Application Designer. When login into Application Designer with Database HRCS90 and Username PSADMIN, I get the same error message as below:
"The database is at release 8.52. The PeopleTools being run require Database at release 8.53."
Application Designer is supposed to login by Task 4-7 to copy projects but it cannot. I have tried to fing out what's wrong as below:
In task 4-1-3: I cannot run script dbtsfix.sqr in Linux and Windows XP.
In task 4-1-9: script ptupgibdel.sql does not have the string "End of PT8.53". There is no script ptupgibdel853.sql to run.
In task 4-3-6: when run script grant.sql, table PSSTATUS and PSACCESSPRFL don't exist. There is only PSOPRDEFN table.
I continue to do task by task in chapter 4 and chapter 5, but Application Designer still cannot login and all of Application Engine Programs cannot run. Windows XP cannot run SQR programs. Tuxedo Application Server cannot boot in Linux. Both Application Designer and Tuxedo Application Server gets the same error message: "The database is at release 8.52. The PeopleTools being run require Database at release 8.53."
My questions are:
First, does Oracle Database HRCS90 has table PSOPRDEFN only without table PSSTATUS and PSACCESSPRFL ?
Second, what's the error by task 4-7 when Application Designer still cannot login ?
Third, why Application Designer still cannot login and get the same error message after finish doing chapter 4 and chapter 5 ? How to solve the issue ?

Issue upgrading from R 3.1.2 to R 3.1.3
Hi, i wanted to upgrade my system tonight,
but I am having a problem with the R package.
I currently have version 3.1.2, and an upgrade to version 3.1.3 is available.
After typing
sudo pacman -Syu
the upgrade of the packages fails with the error message:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
r: /usr/lib/R/library/Matrix/po/fr/LC_MESSAGES/Matrix.mo exists in filesystem
r: /usr/lib/R/library/spatial/po/ko/LC_MESSAGES/R-spatial.mo exists in filesystem
Any idea how I can fix the issue?

No issues but there are changes.
Have you your photos organised in Rolls in v6? If so, make sure that each roll has a name other than the default one. So make sure your Roll 123 is named Spring 06 or whatever, otherwise the rolls will be split into Events. The primary difference between Events and Rolls is that Events are based on the date the pics were taken, rolls on the dates the pic were imported.
You can rename rolls using the Info Pane (wee 'i', lower left) the name and date fields are editable.
If you've no interest in Rolls, then ignore the above.
Other than that make a back up, of course. Then update iLife and simply launch iPhoto. It will ask is it okay to upgrade the library. Say yes and off you go.
With iPhoto 7 (iLife 08) the old iPhoto Library Folder is now a Unix Style Package File. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Any issues upgrading from 1.0.2 to 1.1.2?

I have a regular unhacked/locked phone and it's on 1.0.2. I never upgraded to 1.1.1 because of the rumor of the battery draining issue. I have very good battery usage. Now that 1.1.2 seem to have fix that, I'd like to upgrade.
So I'd like to hear from anyone who upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.1.2 whether there was issue or not.
Thanks in advance.Answering my own question. Just took the leap and upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.1.2. No problems at all. Took all of 15 minutes. Had the phone connected the whole time and didn't disconnect until the entire process is finished with the message that the phone has been activated.
There were two "hold my breath" spots, one is the yellow triangle with "connect iPhone to iTune", the other is the end of upgrade with the white plug to iTune icon and something about emergency call. Both lasted 2-3 seconds before the process continued on.
Now I get to have fun with the new features. I'll monitor the battery usage as I was getting excellent usage with 1.0.2.
