Issues uploading from EOST1i to Aperature (connect w/cord) - some won't upload

Hi All and thanks in advance!
I just bought a new iMac, installed Aperature, and have converted my iPhoto library to Aperature (over 20K pics).  I never had any issues before uploading ALL of my pics to iPhoto.   The last two uploads I've attempted into Aperature have blocked approx 1/3 of the pics from uploading with a message showing they are corrupt files.
I've read a bunch of threads and these seem to be the recommendations (haven't tried any yet) though am wondering if there is an exact answer to this???
Reinstall Aperature (will I lose my Aperature library if I do this - spent lots of time getting it clean and organized)
Check the repair Utility Disk ?
Rebuild library in Aperature (ughhhh so much work)
I'm not doing anything different with my upload process than in iPhoto which worked just fine.   I really want to use Aperature (so much more sophisticated photo editing) but need ALL of my pics - not just a random upload!
Any insights or advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Ok last night tried again.  Two new events uploaded approx 200 uploaded each and 80 each bombed out with errors.
I tried again creating two new event files (1 for each event) and called them Error Uploads and of the 80 approx 50 more each uploaded.
Very strange !
How do I fix this?
Should I try to reinstall Aperature 3.1.1?   Do I have to remove it first and if so will I lose my libraries?
Feeling very frustrated at the moment that I cannot capture all my photos in Aperature!
Thoughts?????  please !

  • Booting from external DVD R/W....some won't, some will

I have an external Freecom LS Pro writer (because I have a second HD in an Optibay instead of the Apple Superdrive).
The Freecom will boot the Snow Leopard install disk, but won't boot either of two bootable recovery disks I made with Paragon Drive Backup 10 or Rescue kit for Mac. Both of these will boot my Mac Pro fine. I have tried with the Freecom connected USB and Firewire.
I also have an LG slimline DVD R/W which behaves exactly the same as the Freecom except it is USB only.
Is there anything I can do to make the Freecom boot these disks?
Do you think the superdrive would boot them if I put it back in?
Any info or suggestions very welcome.

Well, it is more likely to be an interactive process of some kind, I would think. Will the MacPro, for example, boot from an earlier version of the OS than the MBP? And at the very least the two computers will have different boot-roms, and it may be that the makers of the Paragon software haven't properly "recognised" any differences of this kind yet.
I don't know enough about how the Paragon software actually works to make a truly informed comment about it, but looking at their various offerings some of it at least plays around with partition schemes and the like. There seem to be some others having boot problems with optical discs on the Paragon forums as well.
Definitely looks as if the software isn't quite "ready for release" yet to me.
    Cheers

  • Failed to issue print from win7 laptop to Canon MP230 which is connected to mac mini os x 10.8.3

    HI
I have recently bought a Canon MP230 printer and connected to my Mac Mini 10.8.3 usb port.
To setup the printer I downloaded the latest driver from canon web site and install all of them
When I issue print from my mac mini it works fine.
Next step was to issue print from Windows 7 laptop .
To do that I intalled Bonjoure in my Windows 7 latpot and set the printer connected to MAc Mini as default printer.
Upto this point every thing works fine.
When I tried to issue print from my Windows 7 laptop the printer gets activated the power button start blinking . But it just pass a page from
input tray to out tary without printing  a single line. I have looked into cups server page at my mac mini. It shows that the job fired from windows
    laptop was done.
I treid a lot debug it myself . But no luck yet.
Please help me. I am very upset.
    Thanks
    Anirban

I just updated to 10.8.3 today, and my computer and Apple TV won't even recognize each other now.  I have absolutely no advice, but wanted to throw this in so you (and Apple) know you're not the only one.

  • Issues upgrading from 7.5.1 to 10gR3

We are having issues upgrading from Content Server 7.5.1 to 10gR3 running a Sql Server 2005 back end (based on Windows Server 2003).
We run through the upgrade process (which completes with warnings), but when we try to start the Content Server, we get the following error:
( 0%) Changing lengths of fields in table 'DocFormats'...
system 01.17 12:17:42.738 main When asking the database
for a list of tables, we got no tables back (internal)
    01.17 12:17:42.753 main !

    intradoc.data.DataException: !
    csUnableToLocateDatabaseTable,DocFormats
    <snip>
Unable to locate table 'DocFormats' in database.
We are looking for advice from anyone who has been through this upgrade (in the same type of environment), or who have encountered this error or anything like it. The error appears to indicate a database access issue, but we have profiled the upgrade and startup, and have proved that the processes are reaching the database. We
have also tried the install against clean and complex installs, and have tried both JDTS and Microsoft drivers without success (same error).
We have spent many days on this, and have been working with Oracle support, but are starting to worry about how realistic the upgrade is.
    Cheers,
    Dave T

Oracle support suggested I execute an "exec sp_changeobjectowner 'DocFormats','<SchemaName>" command against the database.
I did this for the DocFormats table only.
When I tried to start the instance, the error message stated the DocFormats table was now missing.
Inside the database, the table 'Stellent.DocFormats' was visible through SQL Server management.
I then created a copy of this table as 'dbo.DocFormats' (as it was originally), and tried starting the process again (with the config.cfg variables you suggested).
It turns out the upgrade process can now see the DocFormats table and upgrade it successfully (The dformat column is now showing as varchar(80) ).
The startup process now fails at the very next table in the upgrade list (see output below).
Sounds like a database owner/permissions issue.
Any ideas from anyone with SQL Server experience?

  • How do I keep my Ipad from dropping its wireless connection?

How do I keep my Ipad from dropping its wireless connection?
Most of the time, my iPad does not maintain a connection to the interenet via my wifi router. My PC laptop has continuous connection, so I know it is not the internet connection.
Is there a way to trouble shoot this? Can I purchase a dedicated IP Address for my Ipad? This is beyond aggrevating since internet activity is the main reason I purchased the pad.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Poet Margo

I would suggest that you give Apple Tech Support a call and go over your settings under WI-FI and General Settings as well as your router settings etc.. There are all sorts of things I could tell you to try but this forum is not the best place to go over all the numerous settings that could be the issue. Just call them and they will walk you through the proper trouble shooting steps.

The 3G cannot be updated to iOS6, it can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
Activation issues are generally the result of the device being hacked or jailbroken.

anyone can help me? I check the mail from and mail to, and they are correct.
P.S: Sorry, my english is too bad.

    Hi,
Many mail server provides like gmail use TLS/SSL for mail transmission. The error suggest your mail server is expecting a TLS/SSL connection.
The TLS/SSL connection is not part of the UTL_SMTP and UTL_MAIL API. You have to either use Wallet as described here http://oracleblues.blogspot.in/2010/09/11g-release-2-11202-new-utlsmtp.html or use a third party tunneler like stunnel as described here http://monkeyonoracle.blogspot.in/2009/11/plsql-and-gmail-or-utlsmtp-with-ssl.html

  • Sending email from hotel or remote connection

For some reason, using pop email account and having password auth. "on" I can receive emails when at a remote hotel connection but cannot "send" any emails out?
I have contacted isp and they say with password on, should be working???

It all depends on the policy of whoever is the ISP at each location and the method used by the outgoing (SMTP) server to determine whether you’re a legitimate user. Note that when you’re not at home, the ISP at that location is usually not the same as the ISP when you’re at home.
In an attempt to fight spam, many ISPs restrict the ability to send using an outgoing (SMTP) server not owned by them, usually by blocking port 25 for all traffic outside their own network, which means you cannot send with an SMTP server not owned by them if configured to use that port number. And it may happen the other way around as well, i.e. the outgoing server itself may look at the IP address you’re connecting from and refuse the connection if you’re outside its own network.
Something that often works is changing the outgoing server port to 587 (or whatever alternate port number the outgoing server listens to) instead of 25 and using some form of authentication in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server > Server Settings, but two conditions must be satisfied for this change to work: (1) the ISP must not block that port as well AND (2) the outgoing server in question must listen to that port and accept a form of authentication not based on the IP address you’re connecting from.
Independent mail service providers not tied to a particular ISP, such as .Mac and Gmail, do allow authenticated SMTP access on port 587, which is the reason changing the outgoing server port number solves the problem for them if the ISP doesn’t block that port as well.
The following article, for example, describes several ways to address this issue in the case of .Mac, but can be useful for other mail accounts as well (not just .Mac), and applies to all versions of Mac OS X (not just Mac OS X 10.4.2 and earlier as the article states):
.Mac: Server timeout alert message when sending email

I can't send emails from iPhone until I connect to my wifi at home. I am with bigpond and have a bigpond email address. Can anyone help me?

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Search the discussions for issues with 2wire dsl routers. This has come up before in a discussion I've been involved with, but probably not to do with the MDD. I do remember it being a design issue with the router, something that was done to it before dispatch.
Let us know if you can't find it and we'll have a look.
If you afford it, bin the 2wire and go buy something decent like a Netgear.

    This could be problematic.
It will depend on what model of iMac you have.
You may want to post machine info.
blue apple > about this mac > more info button. Click on the hardware line. It has a little triangle in front of the work hardware.
    Leave out the serial number.
    Example:
    Machine Name: iMac
    Machine Model: PowerMac4,1
    CPU Type: PowerPC 750 (33.11)
    Number Of CPUs: 1
    CPU Speed: 600 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
    Memory: 768 MB
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.1.9f1
Most of the iMac's have sometype of video output port on the back.  You will problably need a converter.
The 'hollywood' industry has been making it more difficult to get video out over time to prevent copying.

how do you connect your photoshop elements on your computer to your account online? and how do you create a customized url? how does the gallery work and how do you access it? i have trouble signing in on my program from my computer to connect to the online photoshop, and I really want to create my own customized url and post photos to my gallery and share them with the world, family, and friends, but i need help because i can't figure how to do any of this, would really appreciate feedback and assistance, thanks, - claire conlon

To add to sig's reply, "calibrating" does not calibrate Lithiu-Ion batteries, it calibrates the charge reporting circuitry.  If you look at the effect of deep discharging Lithium-Ion batteries in the data from the independent test group, Battery University, you will see that doing so shortens the life of the battery significantly. It looks like an optimum balance between use and life is at a discharge level of 50%.

  • Dataset query issues twice if the dataset is connected to matrix and used in multilookup function

    hello everybody.
could not find any information if this is an intended behavior:
dataset query issues twice if the dataset is connected to matrix and used in multilookup function
parameters in both queries are the same
    ssrs: 2008 r2, sharepoint 2010 integrated
    sharepoint 2010: september 2014 cu
    thanks in advance

    Hello, Wendy.
I prepared a very empty sample report for you to demonstrate the problem - with this report, i hope, there is no place to discuss the shrinking of time data retrieval.
There is one dataset, one parameter and one lookup function. The query is executed twice.
