Issues w/Reader XI

I started having  problems after updating Reader to version 11.0.09. When I try to open Adobe Reader XI from my desktop or a .pdf that already exists in my computer I get this message: Adobe Reader has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem and nothing happens. When I attempt to open a link to a .pdf file (any .pdf link on any site) I get this message: There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader If it is running, please exit and try again. (0:104). I have been unable to get a satisfactory resolution to this from Adobe. Please help I am a student online. The Reader is necessary for my classes.  I have Windows 7 and IE 11.Thank you.

    After playing around a little more, I think I might have misinformed you a little.  If you explicitly tell it a string, it looks for the string length at the very beginning and reads that length of bytes as a string.  It appears that if you implicitly tell it to read a string (not wire the data type) it reads all of the bytes directly, including the length of string you wrote.
    Regardless, my advice is the same.  You should just write and read using byte array.  It is less conversions if you are performing your "encryption".

  • Facing issue while reading XML file 'LPX-00217: '

    Hi Gurus,
    I am facing one issue while reading the xml file in the one my 11g database instance. The same file if I ran in another instance then it is working fine for me.
    I presume it will be related to NLS character. Please help me in finding out character set.
    And the issue where I am getting instance character set is 'US7ASCII', and I am not getting this issue in another instance where the character set is 'UTF8'.
    And here is the issue I am getting when I was trying to load that file.
    Error Occurred :=ORA-31011: XML parsing failed
    ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML
    processing
    LPX-00217: invalid character 150 (U+0096)
    Error at line 1
    Pls help me in debugging this issue.

    Hi,
    Pls help me in debugging this issue.There's not much to debug actually.
    The US7ASCII charset stores 7-bit characters, but you're trying to insert a value out of range (150). So that's expected behaviour.
    There were some "tricks" to allow that on some versions, using NLS settings, but it's definitely not the clean way to do it so I won't develop.
    The best thing you have to do is to migrate to character set AL32UTF8, which is fully compliant with XML.

  • Javascrip issue in Reader 7.0.7

    Hello,
    We have PDF form designed using Designer 7.0
    It has a button which when clicked invokes java script "xfa.host.gotoURL("some url").
    When the user opens the file in the Reader 7.0.7, and click on the button, for some users the link works and for some other it doesn't work. What might be the problem with this script. Whyit works for some and why not for some others
    Is there an issue with Reader 7.0.7 with respect to this call in the script.

  • Calendar issues and read receipts

    Hi all,
    About 6 months ago we upgraded Exchange from 2003 to 2007 and from 2007 to 2013.
    Server setup is Win2k12r2 with Exchange 2013 SP1.
    Clients are all Win8.1 with Office 2013 up-to-date.
    We have experience some issues from the start. But we are unable to resolve them.
    Issue 1:
    When Outlook is operating in cached mode and shared folders are downloaded too calendars shared between users are not up-to-date. This means: when a users adds an appointment to the shared calendar, it sometimes takes a lot of time before other users can
    see this. We solved this issue by disabling the download of shared folders. This way all users work online in shared calendars.
    Issues 2:
    When using the above mentioned combination of a cached mailbox with online shared folders we are unable to use the context menu (right mouse button) on an appointment to set the category that is located in a shared calendar. The solution is to disable cached
    mode in outlook, which means outlook is Online. Then the issue is resolved. But we would like to have outlook in cached mode.
    Issue 3:
    When outlook is in online mode the Read receipt function breaks down. When a user requests a read receipt (internally or externally) and presses the send button a message stating that the mail was deleted without reading is immediatly received. Putting outlook
    in cached mode solves this issue. But it seems broken anyway but it might be a setting?
    Any and all help is appreciated.

    Regarding Issue 1, multiple users working off the same calendar risks race conditions, where one person's updates overwrite another's, and that problem is severely aggravated with the use of cached mode.  Please read the following two articles for more

    Regarding Issue 2, see my answer to above to understand why cached mode is bad for calendars unless they're used as read-only.
    Regarding Issue 3, read receipts are unreliable.  If they work at all, consider it a little blessing.  Besides, they don't really prove the recipient read the mail, just that he opened it.  Read receipts are easily bypassed, so I recommend
    you stop worrying about them.

  • Time Stamp Offset Issue when Reading TDMS

    I am having an issue when reading a TDMS file and displaying it on a waveform chart in LabVIEW.  My waveform chart will always display the time stamp with a negative offset of 18,000 samples.
    To make that easy, let's say I am sampling at 1000 samples per second and I log my data to TDMS. When I read that TDMS and display my waveform chart data, the chart displays the data read from the TDMS 18 seconds earlier than the recorded wf_start_time stated within the TDMS.  If my wf_start_time is  08:00:20.000 AM 12/02/2014, then my waveform chart displays a start time of 08:00:02.000 AM 12/02/2014.  Likewise if I sample at 4000 samples per second, my start time is off by starting 4.5 seconds earlier.    
    I am setting my Xscale.offset = wf_start_time and it reads back correctly, but the start time on the waveform chart is still wrong.  
    Because I am dealing with larger TDMS files (500mb+), I sometimes decimate the data to view it due to memory issues. Here, this issue occurs again.  If I decimate the data to only display 1 out of every 10 data points, that offset is further shifting by a factor of 10x; going from 18 seconds to 180 seconds.   
    Is this some kind of UTC/system clock time stamp discrepancy or something else?

Current this is my structure please give an idea how to read the mulitple sites as one record, probably i can increase the supplier site columns at table level so as to capture second site level information.

    After many days of tests, I wanna share my results with community and comment them.
    CPU Introduction
    I tested my cpu and pushed it at maximum speed to understand where is the limit, can I reach this limit and I've logged precisely all result in graph (See pictures 1).
    Intro : I tested my E5-XEON 2687W (8 Cores Hyperthread - 16 threads) to know if programs can use the maximum of it.  I used Prime 95 to get the result.  // I know this seem to be ordinary, but you will understand soon...
    The result : Yes, I can get 100% of my CPU with 1 program using 20 threads in parallel.  The CPU gives everything it can !
    Comment : I put 3 IO (cpu, disk, ram) on the graph of my computer during the test...

    I tested my disk and pushed it at maximum speed to understand where is the limit and I've logged precisely all result in graph (See pictures 2).
    Intro : I tested my RAID 0 556GB (LSI MegaRAID 9260-8i SATA3 6GB/s 5 disks with Fastpath Chip Installed) to know if I can reach the maximum % disk usage (0% idle Time)
    The result : As you can see in picture 2, yes, I can get the max of my drive at ~ 1.2 Gb/sec read/write steady !
    Comment : I put 3 IO (cpu, disk, ram) on the graph of my computer during the test to see the impact of transfering many Go of data during ~10 sec...

    PPBM5 (H.264) Result
    I rendered the sequence (H.264) using Adobe Media Encoder.
    The result :
    My CPU is not used at 100%, the turn around 50%
    My Disk is totally idle !
    All the process usage are idle except process of (Adobe Media Encoder)
    The transfert rate seem to be a wave (up and down).  Probably caused by (Encrypt time....  write.... Encrypt time.... write...)  // It's ok, ~5Mb/sec during transfert rate !
    CPU Power management give 100% of clock to CPU during the encoding process (it's ok, the clock is stable during process).
    RAM, more than enough !  39 Go RAM free after the test !  // Excellent
    ~65 thread opened by Adobe Media Encoder (Good, thread is the sign that program try to using many cores !)
    GPU Load on card seem to be a wave also ! (up and down)  ~40% usage of GPU during the process of encoding.
    GPU Ram get 1.2Go of RAM (But with GTX 680, no problem and Quadro 6000 with 6 GB RAM, no problem !)
    Comment/Question : CPU is free (50%), disks are free (99%), GPU is free (60%), RAM is free (62%), my computer is not pushed at limit during the encoding process.  Why ????  Is there some time delay in the encoding process ?
    Other : Quadro 6000 & GTX 680 gives the same result !

    Comment/Question : Look at the transfert rate under (picture 5).  It's exactly the same speed than with my RAID 0 LSI controller.  Impossible !  Look in the same picture the transfert rate I can reach with the ramdrive (> 3.0 Gb/sec steady) and I don't go under 30% of disk usage.  CPU is idle (70%), Disk is idle (100%), GPU is idle (100%) and RAM is free (63%).  // This kind of results let me REALLY confused.  It's smell bug and big problem with hardware and IO usage in CS6 !

    Comment/Question : CPU is free (70%), disks are free (98%), GPU is loaded (MAX), RAM is free (63%), my computer is pushed at limit during the encoding process for GPU only.  Now, for this kind of encoding, the speed limit is affected by the slower IO (Video Card GPU)
    Other : Quadro 6000 is slower than GTX 680 for this kind of encoding (~20 s slower than GTX).

    Comment/Question : CPU is free (55%), disks are free (99%), GPU is free (90%), RAM is free (65%), my computer is not pushed at limit during the encoding process.  Why ????   Adobe Premiere seem to have some bug with thread management.  My hardware is idle !  I understand AVCHD can be very difficult to decode, but where is the waste ?  My computer want, but the software not !

    Conclusion
    There is nothing you can do (I thing) with CS6 to get better performance actually.  GTX 680 is the best (Consumer grade card) and the Quadro 6000 is the best (Profressional card).  Both of card give really similar result (I will probably return my GTX 680 since I not really get any better performance).  I not used Tesla card with my Quadro, but actually, both, Premiere Pro & After Effects doesn't use multi GPU.  I tried to used both card together (GTX & Quadro), but After Effects gives priority to the slower card (In this case, the GTX 680)
    Premiere Pro, I'm speechless !  Premiere Pro is not able to get max performance of my computer.  Not just 10% or 20%, but average 60%.  I'm a programmor, multi-threadling apps are difficult to manage and I can understand Adobe's programmor.  But actually, if anybody have comment about this post, tricks or any kind of solution, you can comment this post.  It's seem to be a bug...

    I can't explain everything, but let me give you some background as I understand it.
    The first issue is that CS6 has a far less efficient internal buffering or caching system than CS5/5.5. That is why the MPEG encoding in CS6 is roughly 2-3 times slower than the same test with CS5. There is some 'under-the-hood' processing going on that causes this significant performance loss.
    The second issue is that AME does not handle regular memory and inter-process memory very well. I have described this here: Latest News
    As to your test results, there are some other noteworthy things to mention. 3D Ray tracing in AE is not very good in using all CUDA cores. In fact it is lousy, it only uses very few cores and the threading is pretty bad and does not use the video card's capabilities effectively. Whether that is a driver issue with nVidia or an Adobe issue, I don't know, but whichever way you turn it, the end result is disappointing.
    The overhead AME carries in our tests is something we are looking into and the next test will only use direct export and no longer the AME queue, to avoid some of the problems you saw. That entails other problems for us, since we lose the capability to check encoding logs, but a solution is in the works.
    You see very low GPU usage during the H.264 test, since there are only very few accelerated parts in the timeline, in contrast to the MPEG2-DVD test, where there is rescaling going on and that is CUDA accelerated. The disk I/O test suffers from the problems mentioned above and is the reason that my own Disk I/O results are only 33 seconds with the current test, but when I extend the duration of that timeline to 3 hours, the direct export method gives me 22 seconds, although the amount of data to be written, 37,092 MB has increased threefold. An effective write speed of 1,686 MB/s.
    There are a number of performance issues with CS6 that Adobe is aware of, but whether they can be solved and in what time, I haven't the faintest idea.

  • Neo2 Memory ratio issues, please read

    hey all
    very strang stuff...
    just got a 3200+ winchester .90 CPU, its nice. also have 2x twinx corsair 3200 non LL ram.
    idea: I had in mind that since my ram doesnt OC very well (220 max) I was going to get the neo2 and play with the FSB and set the ratio of the ram to 166 or something so that I could up the FSB which would in turn up the ram to around 200 or a bit over. thats the idea anyways...
    result: initially I could not even post with this ram, had to flash to 1.3 but now it works. when I try to set the ram to 166 and start upping the fsb, I can get to around 220 fine. any more than 225 and I cant post... huh??? the ram is only running at 183 or so mhz at this point so I know its not that. I raised the voltage of both the cpu and ram to 10% and 2.80v and still had same problem...
    ok, so I thought I would just change the fsb to 133... well again around 225 or so I cant post... ram is running at 150 only then, so definately not ram. I am lowering the HT to 4x and 3x and still no difference..
    my last resort was 100mhz.... well oddly enough, when I set the ram to 100 I can up the FSB to 270 and it posts! I can boot windows at 260 fine, cpu is 2600 and ram is 133 at that point... well the ram doesnt bench too good there obviously, like 3100 in sandra.
    the only other thing I could thing of was upping the FSB as high as I could go to get the ram up there and lower the cpu multi while leaving the ram at 100... I was able to get it up to 300 which the ram runs at 150 and booted into windows. but zcup said that HT was running at 300mhz... when I tried to up it from 3x to 4x it posted all weird, so I dont really want to stay at that level...
    anyone else had issues changing the ratio?? I tried 1.37 with the same result.
    facts: in 1:1 I can run up to 220 and boot windows, so ram runs fine at 220
    : the CPU runs fine at 2.6ghz so the cpu is ok
    the only conclusion I can come to is that the motherboard is wacked out.. I think the bios is crummy or something. I cant afford new ram; I just want to be able to change the ratio to 166 and have it work, is this too much to ask?
    Should I RMA the board?

    I use an Antec TruPower and that is hindering my performance right now.
    If its your ram that is failing use memtest to see at what speed it's failing. I started at (1:1) at 2.0 Ghz dropped the multi to 9 and slowly raised the fsb until memtest would give me errors. After finding a setting that was error free i then ran prime95 to see if it was really stable.  I haven't been able to run 1:1 but i do hit 2.5Ghz without any memtest or prime95 errors.

    You were running HT at 300 and tried to go from x3 to x4? I don't remember the exact number but you can't go over 1020-1040 on HT.
    Edit: finally... (1:1), now just gotta test for hours on prime95...ugh.

  • Performance issue showing read by other session Event

    Hi All,
    we are having a severe performance issue in my database when we are running batch jobs.
    This was a new database(11.2.0.2) and we are testing the performance by running some batch jobs. These batch jobs included some inserts and updates.
    I am seeing read by other session in top 5 timed events and cache buffers chains in Latch Miss Sources section.
    Please help me to solve this out.

  • For all those out there with Iphone5 WIFI issues,Please READ THIS

    I pre-ordered my iphone 5 (Black) got that last week. Quickly backed up my Iphone 4 and Restored my iphone 5.The first thing i checked to see is connecting to my WIFI network at home. And i kept getting a message "UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE NETWORK". I had the iphone 4 aside and i can see iphone 4 is connected just fine. So are my laptop, Ipad and other devices.
    So what is different in Iphone5?
    After couple of days of head banging, and phone calls with apple support. I finally gave up and went to a apple store , they said, They have not heard any WIFI issues and my case was the first , However to keep me happy they said they will replace my device, But if have the same issue ,they will NOT be able to replace it again. And they even showed me the new iphoen connects to their "Non-secured" apple WIFI network.
    So i take the new phone home, and the first thing i try is connecting to WIFI.And i still get "Unable to connect to the wifi network ".And i still can see Iphone 4 working fine and connecting to the same network just fine. With the second iphone5 also not working, I realized it is not hardware, but something surely changed with WIFI in iphone 5. I have a NETGEAR router with its latest firmware installed(2.0.26). I then downgraded my firmware to 2.0.21, then gave a shot.
    BINGO..Iphone 5 works fine connects to wifi.and so is my iphone4 too.
    So for all those users out there, the fact is something changed in iphone 5 WIFI algorithm. And if anyone really disagrees with me on this, I am going to post a video to demonstrate on YOUTUBE. I believe it is completely UNFAIR for apple to now ask you Upgrade/change your router or its firmware. And it is not fair for router companies to Fix anything to make their firmware compatible with iphone5.
    So iphone 5 Users, Please lets us all push for a fix on this issue. WE WANT FIX.

    I can't tell you how frustrated/disappointed I was when this exact situation happened to me. I upgraded my wife's iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5 just to find out that it wouldn't connect to my home wifi but would connect everywhere else. Guess what...
    I found a fix!!
    On you iPhone go to Settings, General, About, scroll to "WiFi Address". Now stay there.
    Log-in to your modem thru your web browser via IP Address. (Keep in mind, I use a 2Wire modem, yours may be different) Clicked "Wireless" for wireless settings, scrolled down to "MAC Filtering" and clicked "Edit Allowed/Blocked Device List". At the bottom, there's a field to which you can manually enter a MAC address to you allow or block. If you're using a different modem with different menus/options, just browse around til you find a similar option of manually adding MAC addresses for access or blocking.
    MAC Address = Wifi Address. See where i'm going with this?
    Type the WiFi Address from you iPhone in the MAC address field, click "Add to List". If MAC filtering is enabled, it'll be added to the BLOCK list, simply click on the address, and click the double arrow pointing towards the ALLOW list so it'll transfer lists to where you want it, then click save.
    Now go back to your iPhone and attempt to re-connect to your wifi network as you normally would & voila!
    This worked for me, i hope it works for you as well.

  • List of issues: random reboots, sound issue, battery reading

    Hey all,
    I am having the following issues with my Macbook (late 2007, running on Snow Leopard).
    1) The battery power indicator isn't giving a correct read. It remains stuck at 95% or 99% most of the time while the led on the battery cord is burning bright green for hours...
    When I asked my local reseller if this could be related to my new bought battery, he checked the battery (which is under warranty) and informed that the battery was ok so he feared it would a more expensive issue inside my Macbook.
    2)When I turn on my Macbook, the sound isn't working althought the soundbar is more then halfway open. When I increase or decrease the sound with one tap, it suddenly kicks in and works fine untill I turn the device off and o. Then it's the same old story all over again.
    3) My Macbook randomly reboots. Without any warning (atleast not visible to me) you suddenly the distinct hardware sound of a reboot, the grey load screen with the Apple logo appears and only a few seconds latter (it's much faster then a normal reboot/restart) I am at the inlog screen and have to log in again.
    I am not sure but, it's possible that issue 2 & 3 showed up after I installed Snow Leopard. Don't know if it's relevant or not.
    I am praying for this to be a software related issue, but I have a nasty gutt feeling that is going to be a nasty hardware issues
    Any thoughts, idea's or wonder solutions?

    I'll reply using the numbers aswell:
    1) But is it also normal for the Macbook to keep saying that the (3months old battery) is at 99% even when it has been fully loaded in advance and has been connected for 12 hours to the powergrid?
    2) I'll try to clearify:
    You turn on the Macbook, according to the settings the sound is on yet programs like Adium and Mail don't produce sounds when it should be making a sound warning.
    When you use the sound keys (either to increase or decrease the sound), the sound kicks in again.
    Each time the device is turned back on this issue presents itself.
    The device also doesn't seem to save the sound setting on which it is turned off, it simply resets to a setting at about 75 % of the volumebar.
    3)I have been thinking that myself and have been expermenting with using the visitors account from time to time. However the reboots have been rare up till know (only 3 , max 4 times as far as I am aware) and only once (last night) when I was actually activly using the device.
    This makes it rather annoying to downgrade or to switch main accounts permenantly for diagnostic purposes only. (I am not that familar with mac os to start doing this like downgrades at all to be honest)
    Of the reboots I am 99.9% sure that they started after my upgrade to Snow Leopard.

  • How can I download my issues with Reader's Digest when each time a pop appears and reads " the item you tried to buy is no longer available"?

    I can no longer download my purchased Reader's Digest magazine since August as it requires updating the RD app. So when i try to download the RD app a pop up appears and reads " the item you tried to buy is no longer available". What does this mean and what do I do? I have 2 pending reader's digest issues that needs to be downloaded.

    I don't have an answer for you but it may help to have a look at the "More Like This" section at the far right of this page. Reading those additional threads may get you some idea of the actual issue and how to resolve it. It could be that problems were found with the app and it was temporarily pulled for some reason which may be the reason for the "the item you tried to buy is no longer available" message.

  • Performance issues in Reader 7

    Hi,
    We have a serious issue with performance in Reader 7.  Our client is locked down to this version and we have developed our forms targeting this version in Designer but only recently discovered the performance problems.  We seem to have pinpointed the problem to direct rendering in the form.  When running the form in adobe reader 9, with direct rendering forced to off, we see the same symptoms that we saw on the adobe reader 7 client.   The symptoms are that the memory usage of the acroRd32.exe process rises steadily as we interact with the form and does not come back down.  After a time it becomes unusable as it takes about 25 seconds to move between fields.  In version 9, with direct rendering on as default, this issue does not occur.
    We disabled direct rendering in the XML source using:

    Our client cannot upgrade their reader version and so we are in a very difficult position.  If anyone can suggest a way to tackle this performance issue we will be very grateful.

    I'm working with Kieran on the same form and I think I have tracked the issue down to a difference between rendering methods in Adobe reader 7 and adobe reader 9.  I drew up a benchmark test script and ran it before and after I disabled direct rendering.  When runing the form in adobe reader 9, but with direct rendering forced to off.  I see the same symptoms that I saw on the adobe reader 7 client. 
    I disabled direct rendering using:
    <?originalXFAVersion http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-template/2.4/ LegacyRendering:1?>
    Does anyone know of particular objects or methods that might be handled poorly by the legacy rendering mode found in adobe reader 7 (XFA 2.4 and earlier)?

  • Mac / Adobe Compatibility Issues with Reader X1 & Acrobat X1

    I'm using Acrobat X1  11.0.10 and Reader 11.0.10 with Mac OS X ( 10.8.5).
    In Reader, when I click the "show next page" down arrow, it takes around 5 seconds to jump to the next page. (scrolling to the next page via the scroll bar works fine).
    In Acrobat, when I use the text edit tools, it can take up to 10 seconds before I can edit a word (remove or add a letter).Oftentimes, Acrobat will highlight the whole paragraph rather than just the word I select. (I think this is due to the lag time.) When I backspace to remove a word, nothing happens ... for several seconds. Then letters begin disappearing.
    I reverted from Mavericks and Yosemite back to Lion (or Mountain Lion - I forget what they called 10.8.5) in the hopes of fixing this issue. When I say reverted back. I did a full install. Wiped the hard drive, loaded 10.8.5 and started this Mac as if it were new.
    Is there a version of Reader and Acrobat that work with Mac OS X ( 10.8.5)?

    Acrobat 11 is compatible with MAC 10.8.5. So, there are no compatibility issues.
    Please let me know if this happens with every PDF or some specific one?
    If specific, then please tell me what is the size of your PDF file.
    You might also try repairing Acrobat from the Help menu.

  • Issue with "read by other session" and a parallel MERGE query

    Hi everyone,
    we have run into an issue with a batch process updating a large table (12 million rows / a few GB, so it's not that large). The process is quite simple - load the 'increment' from a file into a working table (INCREMENT_TABLE) and apply it to the main table using a MERGE. The increment is rather small (usually less than 10k rows), but the MERGE runs for hours (literally) although the execution plan seems quite reasonable (can post it tomorrow, if needed).
    The first thing we've checked is AWR report, and we've noticed this:

There were no other queries running at the server, so in this case "other session" actually means "parallel processes" used to execute the same query. The main table (the one that's updated by the batch process) has "PARALLEL DEGREE 4" so Oracle spawns 4 processes.
    I'm not sure how to fix this. I've read a lot of details about "read by other session" but I'm not sure it's the root cause - in the end, when two processes read the same block, it's quite natural that only one does the physical I/O while the other waits. What really seems suspicious is the number of waits - 4 million waits means 4 million blocks, 8kB each. That's about 32GB - the table has about 4GB, and there are less than 10k rows updated. So 32 GB is a bit overkill (OK, there are indexes etc. but still, that's 8x the size of the table).
    So I'm thinking that the buffer cache is too small - one process reads the data into cache, then it's removed and read again. And again ...
    One of the recommendations I've read was to increase the PCTFREE, to eliminate 'hot blocks' - but wouldn't that make the problem even worse (more blocks to read and keep in the cache)? Or am I completely wrong?
    The database is 11gR2, the buffer cache is about 4GB. The storage is a SAN (but I don't think this is the bottleneck - according to the iostat results it performs much better in case of other batch jobs).

    OK, so a bit more details - we've managed to significantly decrease the estimated cost and runtime. All we had to do was a small change in the SQL - instead of

The point is that the TMP_SODW_BB table contains 1639 rows in total, and 284 of them match the moved 'IN' condition. Even if we remove the condition altogether (i.e. 1639 rows have to be merged), the execution plan does not change (the cost increases to about 1300, which is proportional to the number of rows).
    But with the original IN condition (that turns into an OR combination of predicates) in the MERGE ON clausule, the cost suddenly skyrockets to 990.000 and it's damn slow. It seems like a problem with cost estimation, because once we remove one of the values (so there's only one value in the IN clausule), it works fine again. So I guess it's a planner/estimator issue ...
