Issues with a SGE2000 switch

It seems that the SGE2000 switch will lose the connections of systems after some period of time. I will ping a system and it will be slow or will not reply at all. See example below: C:\>ping 10.1.16.16 Pinging 10.1.16.16 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 10.1.16.16: bytes=32 time=102ms TTL=63 Reply from 10.1.16.16: bytes=32 time1ms TTL=63 Reply from 10.1.16.16: bytes=32 time1ms TTL=63 Reply from 10.1.16.16: bytes=32 time1ms TTL=63 Ping statistics for 10.1.16.16: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 102ms, Average = 25ms C:\>ping 10.1.16.16 Pinging 10.1.16.16 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 10.1.16.16: bytes=32 time1ms TTL=63 Reply from 10.1.16.16: bytes=32 time1ms TTL=63 Reply from 10.1.16.16: bytes=32 time1ms TTL=63 Reply from 10.1.16.16: bytes=32 time1ms TTL=63 Ping statistics for 10.1.16.16: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms I have made two changes; 1)The Aging Interval 630 the max. 2)Static MAC address entry. But nether of these changes have helped. Has anyone see issue with the SGE2000 switch? Thanks

Thanks for the info. I have the latest firmware on the switch and resetting it doesn't help. I am route 7 IP networks via this switch with 24 systems on each network. I have statically added some of the systems MAC addresses to see if that would help, but same issue.

  • Logitech Keyboard Issues with Fast User Switching

I'm running OSX 10.4 on an 800 MHz iMac, and using a Logitech Cordless Navigator keyboard. The keyboard's main feature (for me) is the ability to have the function keys (F1-F12) automatically open applications and folders and such. When I have multiple accounts running though, this feature seems to be tied to whichever one I first logged into. If I switch accounts and try to use one of the keyboard shortcuts nothing happens where I am, but when I switch back to the original account I find that the keyboard has opened the program there. The keyboard types fine in the new account, and I can even change the preferences so the function keys do different things in the different accounts, but the extra functionality seems to be only available for whichever account logs in first.
I realize this may just be a Logitech bug, but any ideas how to fix this? (Also even though I'm the only one using my computer this seems like a mild security issue, if theoretically another user could activate programs on my account without the password.)

    Logitech support is frustrating:
    Dear tajmahall14,
Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Keyboards.
I understand you are having issues with the settings for the function keys becoming non-functional when fast switching from one user account to another.
Depending on the system configuration, the Fast User Switching may or may not work. Unfortunately this is not an issue I can address. You may need to contact Apple to see if they have a possible solution to your problem.

  • Password issue with ESW 520 switches

I was wondering if anyone else has run into or noticed an issue with passwords using these switches.  I've set up 5 or 6 in the past couple of months and have confirmed it is an issue with both the 2.0.3 firmware and the latest 2.1.16 firmware.
The issue is that you cannot use an & in a password.  That is to say, you can use it when setting your new credentials for the switch but once set, you cannot login using this password any longer.  I've tested these passwords over and over, making sure I didn't slip off the shift key by removing caps or substituting a 7 instead of the & symbol.  I have NOT tried any other special characters but I can confirm that numbers work just fine.

    Sounds like a bug Chris.

  • Issues with Small Business Switch config

Hi, I know that if I read the documentation I will come to the answers but I would really like some input from someone with more knowledge than me. I have an issue with Cisco SF300 , one of the Small Business Switches. I have a single interface on my router and I need to separate my internal networks , I thought that one way would be to use VLANs. On my two internal networks one network only has unmanaged D-Link switches, the other has the Cisco SF300 so I did as follows.
On the Cisco Switch, all ports default to Trunk ports. I have changed FE1-FE24 and GE1-2 to access ports.
Created two VLANS and placed FE1-FE24 in VLAN10 (also my management VLAN) , GE3 is a trunk Port for VLAN20 untagged, VLAN 20 uplinks to my DiLink Switches. This way traffic from my unmanaged switches comes in on a trunk port untagged on VLAN20.
GE4 is a trunk port and I have assigned  VLAN1 untagged, VLAN10 tagged and VLAN20 tagged. VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 then forward to my Router.
The plan was to connect GE4 to my router however I had two things happen I can not explain.
Firstly as soon as I connected my D-Link to GE3 the LAN on VLAN20 went down, I could not ping Servers from PCs etc, all devices are connected to the unmanaged D-Links. Secondly the VLAN Assigment changed on GE3 and GE4 , VLANs 10 and 20 disappeared and only the default VLAN was assigned, also under VLAN Settings my VLAN interface state for VLAN20 shows Disabled. Also one of my access ports FE12 keeps changing VLAN.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what might have crashed the LAN and why my VLANs change. I did write my running config to the start up config by the way.
    I added two screen shots.
I would seriously appreciate some help.
    Thanks
    Bob

Hi Garrett, thanks for your reply to my post, I hope you are well. I called Cisco support, they told me that they could not understand why this was happening and suggested a firmware upgrade, usually something I should have considered right from the beginning. This solved the issue for me.
    Thanks

  • Issues with iMessage when switching data carrier (wifi - cellular)

So I have had this issue with my 5S and now my 6+ in iMessage. Not *always* but often enough I've run into issues sending messages via iMessage when I associate with wifi in that they don't send. I'll get an error message saying "not delivered" and it will stack as many outgoing messages I try to send. However, if I force the first message to send as text, subsequent messages will go through afterwards without issue. If I go from wifi to cellular I have no issues whatsoever and when I have these issues on wifi, my data works fine (incoming emails, Facebook notifications, etc.). I used to run cellular data only because I had unlimited but now I have a cap so I intend on using wifi when possible...but to have to send my first message as a text just so I can use iMessage is annoying...

    Hi there BigDogg795,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps for iMessage found in the article below.
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. If a data connection isn't available, troubleshoot cellular data or a Wi-Fi connection.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn which network your phone supports. If your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while you're on a call.
    Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.

  • Issues with clock - keeps switching to incorrect time?

The clock on my Iphone 5S keeps changing to a different time, at 8AM is said it was 2. I restarted it and it worked for a little while then went back to 2 again. It has done it two more times today... I have not done the most recent software update to my phone.

    Hey abcal,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the time keeps changing. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • WRT54GX2 SRX200 thermal issue with internal Ethernet switch engine? Issue with DynDNS?

The WRT54GX2 SRX200 had been working for 2 years. Last week it started to drop LAN/WLAN i.e. all Ethernet connection are up for about 20 seconds, then drop, comes back within 10 seconds then drop again after 20 seconds, etc. Shutting off the WRT54GX2 for a while will give 5 minutes of service, but the cycle will start again. Power supply is operating OK. I suspect a thermal problem on the Ethernet switch engine: it has been hot in San Jose and the wiring shelf reached 85*F. The other issue is that DynDNS flagged the WRT54GX2 SRX200 because it updates IP too often e.g. update on a timer ?
I replaced the SRX200 with an older WRT54G V5 that works well in the same spot, and is 'verified' by DynDNS.

Whats the current firmware installed on your Router?
Try to download the latest firmware of your router from the linksys website and upload it on your router, once the firmware is uploaded then you need to reset your router and re-configure all the settings on it from scratch.

  • Issues with Fast User Switching, language pref, greyed out menu options

I have only one user logged in to my Macbook. If i want to select the other user using Fast User Switching and clicking on the username in top right corner of screen, nothing happens. The other user at this time is still logged out.
Incidentally, when i click on the airport symbol, the wireless networks are often greyed out and i can't change networks unless in go into network prefs.
One more thing - i have english and spanish selected as languages in international preferences. I ca not switch back to english at all - by clicking on the flag in the menu bar or by going into sys prefs. When n battery power, power characteristics are also greyed out and unable to select a different profile.
    any help welcome.
    thanks

It sounds like everything in your menu bar is florfed.
Can you log in to the other user account from the login window instead of by fast user switching? If so, does that account have the same problems with the menu bar?

  • IPod/iTunes issue with Fast User Switching

I have Fast User Switching enabled on my iMac Core 2 Duo running 10.4.8. My daughter usually leaves her iPod connected and it is causing problems when switching to another user. Other users get the message that the connected iPod is associated with another iTunes Music Library and constantly asks if it should be erased. While nothing has happened yet, there are 4 of us using this and I think it's only a ametter of time before somebody inadvertantly blows away her iPod.
Is there any way to disable this this?

Let me try to elicit a more helpful response...
One of the problems I am encountering with an iPod connected and using fast user switching is that if the iPod is syncing with one user, and I switch to another user, the second user sometimes will try to take control of the iPod and sync with the second user's library.
Is there a way to tell Mac User's 2 account to ignore User 1's iPod?

  • Wierd issue with new E3000 switch port

Hello all. I installed a new E3000 about a week ago. I flashed the firmware to the newest version and it installed fine. I have 6 devices total on the router, 3 wireless and 3 wired.  Everything has worked more or less fine except for my one desktop computer.  It is plugged into port 1 on the router and is gigabit.
I use Soulseek alot. While using Soulseek yesterday, I decided to log into Warcraft.  I was logged in for about 3 mins and then was disconnected and at the same time most of the SS upload/downloads timed out.  I look at the router and the #1 port seemed to blinking normally, but then it turned from green to blue really fast, then went out, then came back on.  I rebooted the router and then limited my upload in Soulseek. After about 10 mins it did it again.
Windows still said i had an internet connection and i could get some traffic but it kept dropping the connection in warcraft while doing these things at the same time: and i have Warcraft as my only QoS.
So I rebooted the router, opened SS and went to work.  When I got home at lunch the router was doing the same thing. No one was here so the only application running was Soul Seek.   It was again doing the weird blinking thing on the gigabit port and timing out on uploads to Soulseek (only uploads were active at the time).
Any ideas on what this is? Upnp? What can I do to fix this? thanks.
Also: my N laptop is only showing the wireless link at 65 mb/sec.

You might need to open the ports for your game. To know the ports you need, try checking their website. To open the ports, click here.

  • Routing Issue with 3550

I am having a routing issue with a 3550 switch. I have 5 vlans and I need one of the vlans to access a different router based on destination IP rather than our edge router. I have entered a static route on the 3550 that points to the secondary router whenever a certain network is tried to be accessed. My problem is I can't seem to get the traffic to flow correctly. When I trace route an address on the Internet the path shows as expected, the 3550 then my firewall then my edge router. When I trace an address that is on the other side of the secondary router I get the 3550 as the first hop, then nothing. I can ping the address so I know the path is up. What could be the issue? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
in addition to Mahmood´s post, what do you have defined as the next hop for the default route to the secondary router ? If you use an interface on the 3550 as the next hop, make sure that whatever is connected is in the same subnet, otherwise use the IP address of the next hop. So, let´s say your remote network is 192.168.1.0, and the secondary router is connected to FastEthernet0/1, your default route should look like this if the secondary router is in the same subnet (in this example, the IP address of the secondary router would be 172.16.1.2):
    interface FastEthernet0/1
    no switchport
    ip address 172.16.1.1 255.255.255.252
    ip route 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 FastEthernet0/0
    Otherwise, try:
    ip route 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 172.16.1.2
where 172.16.1.2 would be the address of the secondary router.
    Does that make sense ?
    Regards,
    GNT

  • Routing Issue with 3550 Switch

I am having an issue with routing with one of my Cisco 3550 switches.  I know the 3550s are EoL but some of us have to work with what we have.
I am using a 3550 on either side of a Layer 2 link.  The Layer 2 link is 2 Extreme Summit X-440 switches with Microwave between the switches.  I have a VLAN configured on both switches and tagged on the ports connected to the Microwave.  The 3550 switch on each end is configured for IP routing but I cannot pass traffic between the switches.  If I unplug the switch on the local end and plug in a laptop, I can ping the switch on the remote end and access devices at the remote end.
I know this should work because I am doing the same thing over another Microwave link and Layer 2 link using another 3550 and a HP ProCurve at the remote end.
Here are the configs for each 3550:
Local end;  Port Fa0/23 goes to the Remote Side.  Port Fa0/24 goes to the rest of the network

Ideas?  Anything stand out as grossly wrong?  I have worked on this for 2 days and am at a loss.
    Thanks
    Jamey

Sorry for the delay in replying.  Other items at the office took priority over this project.  I tried that and no change.  I pulled the switch from the remote site and took it back to the local end and connected the switches with a crossover cable and everything works fine.  I have pretty much determined that it is an issue with the config in one of the Extreme switches.  The config in those look pretty normal but there are a few things I am unsure of.  Guess I'll see if there is a similar site for Extreme gear.
    Thanks
    Jamey

  • I had to uninstall Firefox for diagnostic reasons on my Dell desktop, and am having hundreds of issues with shortcuts now. I want to get it perfectly operational with IE, then switch back to Firefox

I was having minor registry issues after switching to Firefox, and Dell suggested going back to IE to see if that cured the problem. Upon uninstalling Mozilla, and reinstalling IE, none of the desktop shortcuts worked in fact, a partial window opened, and locked up the screen. Dell suggested contacting you to find out if maybe the uninstall did not work completely.
    Any suggestions?

It most definitely is the browser that is causing most of the problems. I have used Firefox so long, I can't even remember. Maybe since its beginning. But today is a sad day. I gave up on it. I can't accomplish anything and end up spending hours troubleshooting. I see I am not alone. I am so sick of it "not responding." It's simply not worth it to spend so much time trying to make the thing work, so I can actually do something. Installed, removed, reinstalled numerous times, and I can't fix your software on my Win 7 Pro machine. No problems with IE or Chrome. So. as much as I hate Google Update, Chrome has won the test. Sad, sad day for me to lose Firefox, but it just does not work on the Win 7 machine. I don't have the same issues with the XP machine and have exactly all the same add-ons. Keep it up developers and you will have no Win 7 users at all.
