Issues with AT&T iPhone 5 data

Hi,
I have iPhone 5 through AT&T and today I got a message from AT&T that I've reached 65% of my data limit. When I went online and checked the data usage it is showing that I had been using my mobile data all this time whereas I was under impression that my iPhone was connected to my home wifi and I'm using my home internet and not mobile data. How to resolve this?

If an email account supports push access or if Fetch is set to automatically check email accounts, new email received at the incoming mail server for a push account is pushed to the iPhone and/or when accounts are checked for new email automatically.
iMessages and MMS can be received when the iPhone is in standby mode and both use data.
Any push notifications received with any apps that support and provide the options are received when the iPhone is in standby mode and uses data.
If wi-fi and cellular data is enabled, the iPhone will remain connected to an available wi-fi network when the iPhone is locked and not being actively used as long as the iPhone remains connected to a power source.
If the iPhone does not remain connected to a power source while connected to an available wi-fi network, the wi-fi connection will be dropped while the iPhone is locked and not being actively used. When unlocking the iPhone the wi-fi connection is quickly re-established.
If on a limited data plan, turn cellular data off unless the iPhone remains connected to a power source while connected to an available wi-fi network when locked and not being actively used.

After deleting extra text msg, emails, clearing history and cache in safari adn syncing was still there. Was able to resolve issue by syncing with BOTH computers! Have other iphones that sync with one of the computers. made sure to select sync, but uncheck items that do not want to have on my phone. did not have to sync photo's. now down to 400mb instead of 3.5G of other on phone! Was causing phone to run sluggish. only had 250mb of free space.

    I am having this strange issue which few of the users are facing.
    If you say that "few of the users" are having a problem, the implication is that not many users out of the whole are facing it and the stress is on the fact that it is such a minority. If, however, you say that "a few of the users" are having a problem, the implication is that although the affected users may be a small number in proportion to the whole, it is a problem nonetheless and this is the focus of the statement. But what is the point of either if there is in fact a technical problem consistently manifest? The statement should be more definitive, e.g., that all (100% of) users who do a particular action experience a problem consistently. I think that's what you want to say but I didn't see it stated. I will assume that to be the case.
    As a developer I am not able to replicate the issue since whenever I click on edit and go the update page , the correct data is fetched.
    Reading ahead, are you using the bookmarked URL? Why would you be unable to reproduce the problem if you do the very same thing?
    The users use a bookedmarked URL for the report and this URL includes the session ID...
    What authentication scheme is used? Is the session ID that is finally used for the request the same as that provided in the URL? In 3.0, I don't believe this should happen.
    Is there a batch job (job 4001) that purges sessions? There should be. Query from dba_jobs.

    I have run into a peculiar problem with the Safari browser on mobile platforms (IPad, IPod, IPhone) which I hope I can find a solution for in this community.
    I just launched a new website where I sell products with certain variations, for example please view this link: http://www.finerribbon.com/aegean-single-face-satin-ribbon.html
    On this particular product, the product variants are supposed to work in such a way where:
    If you select the value "1/8" from the "Choose Ribbon Width" field
    THEN
    The only options active and available to choose from in the "Choose Roll Size" field should be: 500 Yds, 20 Yds & Sample Swatch
    Now, if we browse to the above link in Safari using a desktop or a laptop, there are no problems at all, but if we browse to the above link using an IPhone or an Ipad, then we have a problem where all the options are available regardless of the values chosen, basically the above functonality does not work.
    I was told that there an issue with Safari in Iphones and Ipads where it does not recognize option disabled="disabled" tag properly, is this true? Can anyone advise me if there is a solution to this problem? I would sincerely apperciate it.

    Yes, the volume on my iPhone 4s will max out without me touching any button or setting.  When opening mail, for instance, the ringer icon will appear and the volume level goes to max volume - and I'm not touching the volume buttons.  It seems to happen randomly, at least I can't identify a pattern, but thankfully it doesn't happen all the time, but at least once a day.  
    Anyone else seen this?

    If you're using IOS 4.2.1, you can not download facebook. I have had the same problems and now just use safari to go on facebook. Hope this helps

        Oh boy! Acting kind of weird seems to be an understatement, aquaequus!
    What type of troubleshooting were we able to do with you? I want to make sure that we can get some sort of resolution for this problem.
    It is quite possible the battery door may get your phone in working order again. I'm not sure if the store has it in stock, but it is available in our warehouse for $14.99 which can be ordered via customer service.

    This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.

  • Security issue with unlocking my iPhone 4?

    I'm not sure if anyone here will be able to help me but I am trying to get my iPhone unlocked with AT&T. I bought my iPhone on contract through AT&T in December 2010. My account is in good standing. I paid my ETF, it's technically eligible to be unlocked. I called AT&T on April 9th for an unlock and it's now April 19th and still no wordd from them. I've called several times and they won't tell me what's going on other than that "there is a security issue with unlocking my iPhone and the issue is with Apple, but they are working on it." From my understanding, all AT&T needs is the unlock code to enter into the system and unlock it from there. I don't know what security issues could possibly exist that would create a problem. The only thing I can think of is that when I orginally bought my iPhone it turned out to be a lemon and had to get it replaced the day after I bought it. I did this through an Apple store since it was around Christmas. The IMEI number on my phone doesn't match the one AT&T has on file, but that shouldn't matter? I gave them the right IMEI number that is on my current phone. Does anyone know what "security issues" can exist when it comes to unlocking an iPhone 4?

    Don't stress over the words used by the customer service people at AT&T. Half of them don't know what they're talking about more than half the time.  You are probably correct in that it has something to do with their database being inaccurate. 
    Give it a few days, then contact them again and ask for it to be escalated.
    Ignor rNair. The idea that Apple made it mandatory for AT&T to do anything is complete and total bunk. (S)He has no idea what (s)he's talking about

  • Calendar issue with the new iphone 6 plus

    I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing a problem with the default iphone calendar for iphone 6 plus?  I have consulted with apple's tech specialist both in store and online and they can't seem to figure out what's wrong.   They have apparently forwarded the issue to the engineers.  As everyone may know, dots appear under the date if you have added an event to the specific calendar date then the elaboration of the specific event appears on the bottom linear view.  What i have been experiencing on my iphone 6 plus is that the dots disappear as i scroll further and further down to future months and when i do scroll back up the dots also randomly disappears with past months/events.  The elaborated event in the linear view is still there, however, when u highlight the date.  Why is that? We've already rebooted my phone, checked all possible settings issue, unsync then resynced it to icloud, resigned to icloud, reset all settings and even changed to a new phone (thinking it was a hardware defect) but the dots were still disappearing even with the new device.  I even turned off icloud on all my devices and just used the usb cord to sync it from imac to iphone! This nightmare is still happening even without icloud! However, it doesn't do that to my iphone 5! All dots with corresponding events appear on all weeks/months on my iphone 5 calendar.
    Hopefully, someone is experiencing the same issue with their default calendar on the new iphone 6 plus.    I tried my best to describe the issue, so i hope this made sense.  

    M glad I'm not the only one experiencing this!  Because when i spoke to apple techs it sounded like mine was an isolated case as they have not heard any complaints about this! I'll post something on this thread once apple techs have figured it out and get back to me! They initially put my icloud account on troubleshooting mode so they can look into it, however, it wasn't an icloud issue....so, they have yet to firgure it out!  I have already sent them screenshots of what my calendar was doing to my phone.

    I am facing one problem in APEX when i run my page on IE 8. When i submit the page i lose the data for all my items while the same does not happen on Firefox mozila and Google chorme.
    Actually i have one select list which has one dynamic action associated with it when i select the options from this list other object become enable and disable with that action and page get submit.
    but when i select this list in IE page get submit and my value which i selected also get lost.
    Please let me know if this is some issue with IE or Apex as soon as possible.

    No, I did not find a way to fix it.  Went to Apple store to be told that the phone is dead and I would need to purchase a new phone.  A little frustrated with the fact that it is Apple who caused the phone to not work!
