Issues with Calendar

Good Morning,
I have a user who has consistent issues with his Outlook Calendar.
Sometimes he will receive meetings and the invite appears basket as “out of date” and has disappeared from my calendar.  The organizer of the meeting says nothing was changed.
The other issue that he seems to have is that meeting are being accepted on his behalf, but he is not accepting them.  He has one other user who has Publishing Author permissions to his mailbox, but states that she does not accept meetings on his behalf.
He manages the Calendar on his own. Almost like there is a "hidden" delegate.
He is using a MAC laptop with Outlook for MAC installed (but connected to our Exchange environment
Also has an IPhone for accessing corporate email.
Have suggested that he just use the OWA client from his MAC, but he does not feel it is the same.
He is one user (and only user) who seems to consistently have Calendar issues like this.
I have used MFCMAPI and ADSIEdit to look for the "hidden" delegate rule or the PublicDelegate attribute, both of these did not return anything.  Does anyone have any other tools, tricks or suggestions I can try.
We have also asked him to install Parallels or VFusion so he can run a Virtual Windows machine from his MAC, but that was shot down also.
Thanks in Advance for any assistance.
Brian Dougherty

Hi,
First, please make sure the user's Outlook has installed latest updates.
Then, please let the user temporarily turn off his security software to test the issue again. Also we can open Outlook in safe mode to test the issue.
Since this is the forum to discuss questions and feedback for Microsoft Outlook which is installed on a Windows Operating system, better to post your question to the forum for Mac:

  • Issue with Calendar not syncing with iPhone 3g

Issue with Calendar not syncing with iPhone 3g.
    Solution
Create backup of your entire mailbox before starting (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Create offline folder (.pst file) Check windows help on how to do this for your version.
    Open folders view on Outlook
Right click on Calendar in tree view and 'copy to' offline .pst folder
Go back to main calendar view and delete all entries in your calendar.
Create simple cal entry and sync test with iphone
If this works then start dragging cal entries back from the offline folder into the main calendar then sync after each step....
I moved events in this order
    -Yearly recurrences (ie Birthdays)
    - Monthly recurrences
    - weekly recurrences
    - Daily recurrences
All appointments from the beginning of this year >> to the end of time!
If all these sync then the issue is with an older cal item and you have to decide if you actually need these in you current calendar.
I chose to leave these in the offline cal and if i need access them from there.
If at any point the sync fails then you know you have a corrupt cal entry in the block you just transferred. Move the offending items back into the offline folder and try again in smaller chunks until you identify the offending items and delete them and manually recreate them in your real calendar.
Also smart to run the inbox (.pst /.ost ) repair tools for your OS/Outlook version.
    Fixed so far
    XP Pro / Outlook 2008
    XP Pro /Outlook 2003

I just updated the firmware to iPhone 2.0.1 and the syncing works great both ways.

  • Syncing issues with Calendar - ITouch

I am using 8GB Itouch, running on Software 2.2 and ITunes 8.0.2.20.
In the past anytime that I sync my information it would update contacts & calendar at the same time. Right now it would act as though it is syncing but it does not show the updated information on my touch. Can anyone help or guide me in the right direction of what to do?

There is apparently (according to our IT department) a known issue with Exchange calendar syncing, where the meeting status (and sometimes presence) is affected by how the meeting is accepted (on the iPhone vs. in Outlook vs. in Outlook by someone else with admin rights on your calendar). Reportedly, Apple is working on a fix.

  • Huge issues with Calendar

    Hello,
I have very irritating issues with the BB calendar syncing to a caldav (iCloud) server. The server contains 4 calendars which are are all synced successfully initially. After the first automatic refresh however, in 2 of the four 4 calendars,  entries disappear randomly. I can bring them back by manually hitting the "refresh" button in the menu, but after a while (assumably after the automatic sync) they disappear again.
Is this an extremly ugly bug or can I do something about this?
    Best,
    Andree

Same here (I've posted in the Z10 forum several months ago)
    I'm not on BES
    I sync to web (Outlook.com)
Almost invariably, if I invite other participants to a meeting, the entry will appear in my calendar for a while and then randomly disappear ON MY BLACKBERRY ONLY.
The even still shows up in my calendar on the computer (i.e. at outlook.com), so something is wrong with the sync to BB?
The rediculous workaround is to make a duplicate entry (without inviting others) - which always seems to work but everything shows up twice if I view it on the computer.  And then I obviously can't see the participant status on my BB.
For a consultant, this is just no good.  I have missed client meetings.
If it's not fixed by the time my contract comes up I'm switching to Android.
A number of other people reported the same issues I don't understand how it could not be fixed by now.

  • Issues with Calendar for Mac

    Hi All,
I have an issue. I have a number of appointments - training courses actually - that occur over 2 or 3 days.
My PA puts them up - as a single appointment and puts a recurrence of 2 days or 3 days. This is done in Outlook on a PC.
When it appears on my MAC.. it shows on calendar only 2 days (it was in this case a 3 day course)
Please help its driving me nuts.

This was one issue that just about got the new "toy" chucked from a moving vehicle!
I don't sync with Outlook, but I do have other calendars and only could get sync working one way and in some places.
Finally got it working by making sure I was signed up for the Samsung account, which allows sync to all devices.
    AND
downloaded free Apps for iCloud and Yahoo sync
    AND
Sign up for Google and get Google sync set up also.
    AND
Add any account under "accounts and sync" that need to sync.
    AND
go at the problem from both ends, setting up phone AND set up on the computer in Outlook to send to mobile.
As I said, I don't use Outlook, not sure how it sets up.
    BUT
Once I got all devices to post entries in the desktop or pre-installed calendars, they all synced perfectly and I can use a calendar I like.
I really like the one that came on the S3, now that it works.
Holler back if that doesn't do it.

  • Performance issue with calendar and applescript

    Hi Community,
I have a performance issue using applescript and calendar with this script:
    tell application "Calendar"
              tell calendar "Cal"
set theList to (get {summary, start date, end date, uid} of events)
    end tell
    end tell
There are app. 700 events in the calendar "Cal". Therefore the get-command takes about 15 seconds. The problem is, that iCal is completely blocked for this time. This means it is even not possilbe to scroll through the calendar. This problem occurs only under OS X 10.9. With OS X 10.8.x it is still possible to use calendar even a time-consuming get-command is processed.
Any ideas? Maybe there is a way to reduce the task-priority of an applescript?

I have to step in here...
    1) Must I set "None" or "On Time"
    - In order for the Calendar to fire an Alarm, it must know what time to fire the alarm. In the event of an All Day Event, it will go off at 12am. The option for "Repeat", below the "Alarm", states the frequency of the event (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, etc). So to set an alarm that fires once a month, set the TIME you want the alarm to go off (Make sure "All Day" is unchecked if you want a specific time), then choose "On Time" for the "Alarm", and one of the several "Monthly" options for "Repeat". If I missed something in what you were asking, please let me know and I will do my best to more directly answer your question.
    2) Calendar cannot sync with the Mac.
    - Not directly. However, your phone automatically syncs with your Google Calendar, set up if you create your account. If you so choose, you may export your iCal calendar, import it into your Google calendar, and then use your Google calendar (http://calendar.google.com) to manage your agenda. The changes sync automatically with your device.
Once again, I hope this shed some light on things. To the Verizon rep who originally answered this question: I have no intention to bash you, however please bear in mind that your opinions and comments will always be held in higher regard than mine, so if you choose to answer a question, please try to solve the problem as opposed to just answer the question. I have experience with all manner of devices and operating systems, from WebOS to BB to iOS to Android, and I believe this phone has the best hardware coupled with a solid operating system in TouchWiz, and I don't want to see people frustrated with these devices by questions that get nothing more than, "You can't do that" answers from the people that are expected to support them.

  • Issues with calendar invites from Outlook address that come to my gmail on iPhone

I have been trying for HOURS to get to the bottom of this iPhone calendar invite problem I'm having. I'll try to summarize.
I LOVE iCal and I want to continue using it. Though I have a personal mid-2010 Macbook Pro, I don't use it too much (my company functions solely on Windows). I almost exclusively use my iPhone 4S for calendar purposes. Yes, my calendar is synced up to iCloud. I have a gmail account as my primary apple ID and my mail account on the iPhone is synced with gmail. I've been very annoyed lately as I have been receiving a lot of calendar invites from a friend who has Outlook, and I cannot accept or decline when I received her invite. The events are added to my calendar, grayed out.
After much research, I realized that I had to setup my gmail account as an Exchange account on my iPhone, which I did. I then sent myself a test invite from Lotus Notes, and low and behold, I can now accept and decline!
..but I am VERY particular about my calendar organization, and I want to be able to choose which calendar the event is added to; however, it is added to my exchange (gmail) calendar, I guess because it was received on the gmail server. I want my calendar invites to be received on my ios device calendar! I don't know if having people use my .me account would help, but I don't want to tell everyone to change the email address to which they send me notifications, because I want to continue to receive mail at my gmail account (like the many calendars, I have many folders there and have everything set up the way I want it).
I get emails concerning work, events, tennis matches, etc via my gmail account, and I want to sort them to the correct calendar when the invite comes to my gmail while STILL maintaining the functionality to accept and decline invites.
    Is this a crazy question?

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

  • IPhone - Sync issue with Calendar and Outlook 2003

I have been syncing with no problem up to yesterday - now I can't sync my Calendar with my PC. It doesn't make any difference whether I make an entry in iPhone or Outlook. I have reset sync history in iTunes - no change.
The only thing that I can think of that I did out of the ordinary was to copy and paste my contacts into another contacts group in Outlook.
It would appear to be a problem with Outlook as the iPhone syncs with iCal and Address book on my G4 laptop.
    Appreciate your help.
    Alani

Outlook is definately a problem. Ive been at it for a couple of days going through this thread and others. Still not syncing.
What Apple has to realize is that windows people have different microsoft offices, i use 2000 because the schedule is shared between everyone, this is an addon in newer copys of office.
When i make a call or recieve a call i would like to see an option to add the caller to the schedule .. When your on the phone with the caller you can just hit a button and it brings you right to the calendar and enters the caller in the schedule where ever you place them.
Anyway i will keep at the sync thing for a while and see what happens. Nothing so far. l8r

  • Outlook 2007 Sync Issues with Calendar and Contacts

I have an original iPhone and since the last iTunes update I can no longer sync my Contacts and Calendar in Outlook 2007 with my iPhone. The separate calendars are no longer showing in iTunes as a sync option only the sync all is available. When I plug in my iPhone to sync it will set in the syncing status for one to two hours and has not finished syncing since this update. I have reinstalled Outlook 2007, I uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, I have reset the sync history and any other fixes I have been able to find on the discussion boards. Does anyone know of a resolution to this problem?

I'm having similar problems with both yahoo and google on both my and my wife's Pre 2s. Yahoo calendar sync seemed to be working fine a few weeks ago but now absolutely refuses to do anything on my wife's phone (won't even seem to delete the account properly) and only shows a few things on mine. I've tried with different accounts, removing them, deleting the permissions on the yahoo website, the aeroplane mode trick, and restarting the phone. But the same problem. Phone just says it's syncing for long periods of time but then shows nothing for it. I must have removed and added accounts about 30 times in the last 2 weeks.
Google not syncing back from phone to cloud at all.
This is pretty annoying - I had better functionality on my old treo 650!
    Anyone have any answers?

  • Issue with Calendar prompt presentation variable

    Requirement: (OBIEE 11g)
A dashboard should have two prompts - one calendar prompt and one text field prompt giving number of days. There is a timestamp column (SHIP DATE) in the analysis. There should be a between limit in this timestamp field. Logic to be implemented is - Calendar Prompt DateTime <= SHIP DATE < (Calendar Prompt DateTime + No. of days from text field).
    Solution Tried:-
Using the dashboard prompt, two prompts and two corresponding presentation variables were created. First presentation variable is for calendar prompt timestamp (Date1) and other one is for no. of days (Num_Days) text field prompt.
Then in the analysis, two filters were created on the Ship Date. First filter is set as 'Is Prompted' and it takes the values '<=' from calendar prompt in dashboard.
For the other filter, I converted it to SQL and wrote the following:-
    "Time"."Ship date" <= (timestamp '@{variables.Date1}['YYYY-mm-DD HH:MM:SS']{2013-01-01  00:00:00}')  + @{variables.Num_Days}{30}
The analysis runs fine for the above filters, but when run from the dashboard, it throws up an error.
    Error getting drill information: SELECT "Time"."SHIP DATE" saw_0, "Base Facts"."QUANTITY" saw_1 FROM "SHIPPING DATA" WHERE ("Time"."SHIP DATE" <= (timestamp '''2013-00-01 00:10:SS''') + 30) AND ("Time"."SHIP DATE" >= timestamp '2013-10-01 00:00:00').
From the above it seems that error is coming because I am unable to set properly the calendar prompt presentation variable in a format which can be read by the analysis. Since analysis is running fine from the default value of Date1, I was thinking of somehow converting the calendar prompt presentation variable in the similar prompt.
Any pointers to the correct approach?
    Thanks
    Kundan

I found a workaround to my above issue for now but I would like to know the proper approach from experienced folks.
    My workaround is as follows:-
I created an additional column in the analysis -> TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY,- @{variables.Num_Days}{30}, "Time"."Ship date"). Then I applied a filter on this new field. The filter is set as < variable expression Date1 (coming from presentation variable). Since I am not converting this filter to SQL, OBIEE server seems to be taking care of timestamp format conversion.
I think I need to study the logs and the config XMLs to see how date format is being stored to get a better solution.
    Regards
    Kundan

  • Having issues with Calendar syncing with my Outlook Exchange. It syncs 90% of the time when I enter an event on my IPad. How can I force a sync?

I use MS Outlook and sync my IPad Calendar, emails and contacts. When I create a calendar event on IPad, it syncs to my Outlook 90% of the time. Every now and then it doesn'r and I try to force a sync with no luck. What am I missing?

Ok after many hours of playing around with settings I found the solution....
By keeping the return button pressed.... (The square symbol by the power input port), u get a popup on the bottom of the screen which appears to be a list of apps that have been used.   If u press on the app icon long enough u get a red minus sign to appear on all of them.  If u press the red minus, the icon is deleted... If u delete all the icons and then return to the normal screen and enter Calander, you can now enter events.... Hope it works for u

  • Issue with Calendar Invites after changing a user's name

    Hey all,
Strange issue we are having (Exchange 2007). One of the employees got married and had a name change. I changed the name in AD Users & Computers, updated the mailbox, etc. Now, when someone invites her via an Outlook Calendar Invite, she gets a "Cannot
Download Attachment" error on her iPhone. This isn't happening to anyone else and only started happening after the name change.
Was there something else I may have missed? I made sure that the person who was inviting her wasn't seeing the old address in her address book because of caching, so that doesn't appear to be the issue.
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi,
The error description is related to attachment. Please confirm whether there is an attachment in the meeting request to the problematic user. Try to receive the meeting request in OWA to check whether the issue occurs. Maybe the issue is caused by large
    attachments download using mobile.

  • Issues with calendar entry compatibility

I have been having issues wirh invite where my phone says "you calendar does not support this invitation". It is mostly when there are recuring dates in the invite.. This is very annoying because there is no way to add the invite to my calendar when i see this. Can't accept or add to calendar.. Needs to be added manually.. This is a show stopper... how can i fix this?

I do not know the problem, but I would try the following:
    * Export to PDF instead of Word. (not good if the reader needs to change it of course)
    * Export to RTF (not good if the document contains pictures or tables or a whole lot of other unsupported options)
    * Open the generated document in TextEdit or NeoOffice and save it again from there.
