Issues with first sync

Just got my first ATV. I hooked it up, all went well. It started auto-syncing everything. I don't want that. So, made my selections and pressed Apply. Barber pole and "Syncing Apple TV" but nothing actually happens. So, I reset the ATV. Same thing. I had noticed that the software was version 1.1 so I stopped the ineffective sync and updated the software. All went smoothly. When it was done, it started auto-syncing. Again. I made my selections. And.... barber pole and "Syncing Apple TV" for the last 30 min. Is this normal?
iTunes 7.6.1, Airport Extreme

Nevermind..... It's started. I was panicking. It took about 45 minutes but it has started syncing.

Issue with Ipad Syncing with Exchange

We have 6 folks using Ipads regularly to access our corporate exchange server. Up to now things have been fairly stable.
That said starting this week our President has been having significants issues with the syncing process. The process seems to be hanging (however it may be jsut retrying over and over). This is resulting in some emails getting sent multiple times. It also appears that the syncing of Calendar events is sporadic.
No updates ahve been applied to the Exchange server.
He is a pretty heavy user of the Ipad and email and recieves alot of attachments some that are large 5-10mb. I see some chatter about these types of issues but no real solutions.
Is anyone else seeing this type of activity? If so any thoughts on how to improve the issue.

I connected my IPAD for sync with Itunes on my laptop, DELL 6500 running Windows Vista.
Itunes prompted me to download new OS version 3.2.x It then went to restart my IPAD- and then boom !! .. windows said it couldnt find my ipad driver. I went to apple support site and followed their instructions and still windows cant find the driver. Hence my IPAD is not stuck showing the connect to ITUNES screen .. cant use it and cant get update.
Any one has any ideas what happened ?

Trouble with first sync

I have tried many times to sync my phone for the first time. I make about 50% progress in the backup and that takes about 2 1/2 hours. Then my computer starts acting up. I lose control of my mouse and I stop making progress with the sync. Does anyone have any help to offer? I want to install an update but I can't until I backup my files and that's where I am stuck. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Check the PC and disable any firewalls or virus protection programs, for the initial sync.
Once the internet is accessed by the desktop manager software you can run normally.

Issues with icloud syncing

Hello, I have issues with my iphone 4s under ios 7.1.2. I have always set the settings to automatically sync all my setup to icloud. However, from time to time, my iphone suddenly loses all my contacts even though icloud is still activated. I have faced this unstability several times in the past 3 months. I haven't found an automatic way to retrieve them but it seems that deactivating icloud, restarting the iphone and reactivating icloud is working.
However, is there another way to fix this issue for good? It indeed becomes very troublesome.

First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing.

Duplication Issues with Photo Sync via iTunes/iPhoto and Photo Stream/iCloud (Detailed Scenario Given)

Hi Everyone,
I'd like to share an issue I am having with photo syncing between my iDevices.
Here is how I USED to sync my Photos between my iDevices (no issues with photo duplication)
Note: In this scenario, I use iTunes and iPhoto on my Mac. iCloud and Photo stream have NOT been activated in this case.
1. Take photos via iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
2. After a month or so, I will connect my iPhone to my Mac.
3. Import my Photos in iPhoto and arrange Events and Photos in monthly sections and add some of them in a separate Albums (ex. Written Notes Photos) for easy access.
4. Once the import is done, iPhoto prompts an option to delete photos in my Camera Roll which I do as I like to start a fresh month with empty Camera Roll in my iPhone.
5. In order to access the Photos I have imported in iPhoto in my iPhone, I go to iTunes and sync all my photos to my iPhone. This syncs my events, photos, faces, albums as they have been arranged in iPhoto in my Mac. (I cant delete them in my iPhone once they are synced. I have to delete in my iPhoto and sync again to have similar setup in my iPhone which isn't a problem).
NOW I decided I don't want to manually go through all this process and went on to enable the Photo Stream ON in my iPhone and iPhoto with iCloud.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM ENSUES.
1. I Take photos with my iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
2. This automatically syncs with my Mac due to Photo Stream which a really convenient.
3. It syncs automatically to Photo Stream, Events, Photos, Faces section in the iPhoto and I put put some of them (notes) in a separate album.
THE PROBLEM:
The Photos does not show up in the Album, Events and Photos Folder in my iPhone. They are only shown in Camera Roll. So I thought to sync using iTunes so the new Photos will be arranged in their appropriate folder like it used to with my prior process of syncing. This worked, HOWEVER the photos in my iPhone started showing DUPLICATES! Apparently, one comes from Photo Stream (which, if I delete on my phone also deletes in all my iDevices) and the other duplicate is from the iTunes sync (this sets up my photos as arranged in iPhoto which is what i WANT to happen as Photo Stream does not sync them accordingly).
SOLUTION I AM IN SEARCH FOR:
I want to be able to take photos with my iPhone that automatically syncs in iCloud AND iPHOTO AS ARRANGED IN MY MAC (Albums, Events etc) WITHOUT PROBLEM OF PHOTO DUPLICATES.

Other folks have resolved similar issues by trashing the iPod Photo Cache.

Issue with Photo Sync

Hi all, I have a big problem with the sync of images and photos from PC to iPod Touch 4G with iOS 4.3.3 using iTunes (lastest version).
Every time i try to sync a folder, iTunes do the optimization, but when it goes to sync them to the iPod, it only sync for example only 1 photo out 20. The message that appear is exactly this one: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1306?viewlocale=en_US
But i tried 100 times and I still haven't been lucky.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 4. just bought it yesterday and plugged into itunes and got the same error. this is a brand new phone and just updated to latest firmware in itunes.
I am running 4.2.1 and 10.2.1 on the iphone and itunes.
4.3 is out for the iphone 4 but I cannot even sync the update with out the error saying the drive cannot be read or written to.

Issue with email sync

I have configured 5 gmail accounts, 3 yahoo accounts and 1 live account. Everything was working fine until a day came that I was forced to change the password of all my G accounts. I changed it in my phone also but since then I cant sync just 1 gmail account. Not that I cant sync but its not loading the mails in the viewer. Email app works fine with other accounts. I tried deleting all the account and re-created all the accounts still its not working. I tried deleting it from email.nokia.com and STILL its not working. a 3 months ago I had the same issue with another G account. What I did then was I stopped using the Email app. I sstarted using it only a 3 weeks ago as I really needed a client on my phone. Wish someone could help me out from this really awkward situation

Is there an issue with iCloud syncing on iWork apps?

I thought everything was ok with iCloud syncing but I seem to now have issues.
I created a spreadsheet under Pages on my iPad (3rd Gen) and, after pressing the 'spreadsheet' button to show thumbnails of all docs being worked on, I'm seeing a small arrow pointing upwards on the thumbnail. Before, I used to see a progress bar updating in the thumbnail (which I presume is updating to iCloud).
Now? Nothing. The arrow stays and nothing is updated on my iPhone 4. In fact, a previous version of my spreadsheet is shown on my iPhone with the same upwards pointing arrow but with the whole thumbnail 'greyed out'. I can't even open it on the iPhone to delete it!
Is this a know issue and are there any fixes? I've tried the usual turning iCloud off and on for both devices but this has not had any effect.

I have now established that there are issues with Pages, Numbers and Keynote documents!!! They surely cannot all be corrupted?
I have managed to salvage an important Numbers Document which I have copied in to iTunes (and subsequently on to my external HD).
To try and rectify the situation I have then turned off iCloud on all 3 apps on both my iPhone 4 and iPad and deleted all documents under each app. I have then gone on to iWork under iCloud and deleted all documents off there (some of which I noted were not the up-to-date documents I had been working on in iOS). I had to turn off iCloud regardless to delete a couple of the documents on my iPhone (under all 3 apps) as some documents were greyed out (see original post) and could not be deleted. As soon as iCloud was disabled it enabled me to remove off the local device.
Having switched iCloud back on to my iPhone and iPad (and bearing in mind I had deleted all documents off both iOS devices and in iCloud) the greyed out thumbnails re-appear (and cannot be deleted or altered!!!!)
Anybody? Aaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Issue with Ford Sync (Microsoft Sync) & iPhone 4--Playing Music via USB

I have a 2011 Ford Flex and and iPhone 4. The Sync system will not play music via the USB connection. It is quite temperamental with the bluetooth as well. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Well I have a 2010 Fusion with Sync and an iPhone 4. Have had various issues getting things to work right all the time. I'm not sure if Sync in the 2011's is much different.
When you say it doesn't play music, what does it do when you give it the USB command? Does the iPhone charge when plugged into the USB port? If the phone charges and it seems to let you select USB but doesn't play any music, on your iPhone, go to iPod and you may see an accessory connected screen. Touch the icon next to SYNC and you will see SYNC and doc connector listed. Touch doc connector and see if the music is heard.
If you haven't already register at www.syncmyride.com you will find some community forums there with hints/steps on getting Sync and iPhone to work properly.
Generally though, there have been a lot of issues with SYNC and Apple devices.

Lost notes with first Sync

I had my iPhone stolen whilst on holidays and purchased a new one. As i had no laptop with me I had to activate it using the in-store Mac. As I was away for 3 months I thought it would be good to start writing a day by day Diary using the Notes Program on the iPhone.
Since being home I have sync'd the iPhone with my iTunes library and now I find that the 3 months of notes I had written have all gone!! Thinking they must have been sync onto or into iTunes I have drastically search but have come up empty.
Is there something I missed here or does iTunes simply sync in one direction and wipe all the notes on the iPhone? which I would find funny as OS X doesn't really support notes.
Can I get them back or are they lost forever (cry)

In OS X, notes are part of the mail app, there is no stand alone notes app. Have you looked in your mail app? Also, since that first sync, have you performed another sync after that first one? The reason I ask is that iphone notes are included in your phone's backup, which is the first thing done when you perform a sync. So, if you have not synced since that first sync, you may be able to recover your notes from your phone's backup by restoring your phone from that backup. They were most likely deleted from your phone when you did sync because you probably don't have any notes in your mail app.

Droid Razr Maxx/Issues with Exchange Sync and Texting

I have a Droid Razr Maxx. Since the KitKat update to 4.4 in May 2014, my Exchange email account will not sync. My Comcast account does. If I power cycle the phone, it will sync the Exchange account for a short time until I receive the following error message: 'couldn't open connection to server due to sec..." When I touch the error message, it just goes away. If there is more of the error message, I'm unable to see it. I have removed the Exchange account and added it back in three times. My IT department indicates they have not made any changes to the security levels, but have fielded several questions from other Android users with the KitKat update. My text messaging service also stopped. I've been reviewing all forums and tried different things, but to no avail. I went to the Verizon store, who just said that there have been 'lots' of complaints about KitKat and that I should buy a different phone. This $200+ phone is only 7 months old. Please help!!

After deleting and adding my Corporate account, visiting the local Verizon store several times, visiting my IT department, and now wiping the phone and re installing all software, the Corporate email still only syncs when I power cycle the phone. We are a BYOD company which means every other phone works with the Exchange account. My phone also worked up until the KitKat update in May 2014. The only recommendation I have received from Verizon is to replace my 8 month old Motorola Razr Maxx with a entirely different phone at full price. The tech I spoke with at Verizon made the statement that she has avoided updating to KitKat given all the customer issues she has had to deal with.
I'm in a technology field and understand when glitches occur, but also expect functionality issues to be addressed. I've been with both Verizon and Motorola for a long time, but very doubtful I will continue this relationship when contract time is up for renewal. I'm carrying my iPad around to get the Corporate emails and the Razr Maxx has been relegated to just being a very expensive phone.

Issue with Authorization sync job in GRC 10.1

I am facing below issue while running the authorization sync job in 10.1 after importing the configuration data as part of migration from 5.3 to 10.1.
we have GRC server and plugin system on the same SP level 04.
Error:

PFCG authorization sync failed with errors
Thr RFC connection is working fine and the connector settings are done in GRC. Also the RFC user has SAP_ALL.

Issue with blackberry sync and contact lists

Hello!
To the bone: I'm having trouble synchronizating my contacts between my blackberry and microsoft oulook 10. The thing is that my contacts are in different lists in my blackberry and when I try to sync them with outlook (BB to outlook) it only synchronizes one list of contacts.
Any suggestions?

"This password is different" Issue with MobileMe Syncing

Hi all,
I am getting an issue on two of my Mac's at the moment, which are both MobileMe sync'd (Contacts, Calendar and recently, Bookmarks) which is that saved passwords are no longer being pre-filled and when i enter the password it states "This password is different. Would you like to replace the saved password with this one?" even though the password is correct and the one that is stored.
It's obviously something that has happened when i turned Bookmark sync on, but I don't know what, not how to undo it. Obviously I have taken Bookmark sync off now, but it hasn't rectified the issue.

O.K., I'm not a computer guy so I don't know why this caused it, but I found out what my problem was and maybe this will help. I had loaded a plug in for a school site that the only way to get it to run was to do a "Get info" on the safari app and check "Open Using Rosetta." The plug in ran fine and I forgot about it. I finally went back and unchecked that box and now my passwords/usernames are working fine after about a week of frustration.

Having issues with iTunes syncing to iPhone 5...

Both are up to date, iPhone has 7.0.4 and iTunes 11.1.3. Not all of my songs will sync onto my phone, only 63 out of about 500. Anyone else having this issue? Or solved it? Ahhhhh so frustrating!!! I've tried
-Turning off my find iPhone
-Selecting playlists instead of syncing all songs, all songs on playlist still don't show up
-Restarting phone
-Restarting my Mac
-And doing these in about every order you can think of for the past 3 hours

So I had the same problem with what you are having except I have an Iphone 4S but heres what i did to resolve.
1) Check the box for manually manage your music
2) Uncheck all songs you want.
3) Sync
4) Check all songs you want, after the 1st sync
5) Sync again but this time with all the music you want checked
6) Now your inforamtion bar for the GB reading will be weird, dont worry about it. After the sync check all songs on your phone. All should be playable.
