Issues with latest Illustrator CC update

Issue with the latest update of illustrator CC on windows 7
When copping large elements in illustrator its crashing and its crashing when dragging them across to Photoshop. I didn't have this problem until I updated yesterday afternoon.
Its also not opening PDF files if illustrator is already open. If illustrator is closed then I choose to open a PDF in illustrator it will work, but not if a document is already open in illustrator. Will not open from bridge either, but drag and drop does still work.
I'm having to revert back to CS5 until the problem is resolved as its destroying my work flow

Hi, Glad that worked for you. I don't know why this is happening other than to offer an opinion. This hardware acceleration was causing an issue with the previous version of FP also. I think that this technology is ready but the websites are not, youtube included.
The same thing happened with Flash Player for the mobile phones, Android in particular. Adobe was ready but had to wait on Google to catch up. So the users thot Adobe was at fault, but that wasn't the case. Google had to update and that was done with their 2.2 update. This is not an opinion however. I followed this because users were coming here asking why Flash Player wasn't available for their Android:-)
Adobe/Microsoft/Mac/Linux are all involved and if one advances a particular technology that effects the others, then each one must make a change for that technology to work. At least that's how I see it.

Possible Issue with Latest Office 2001 Update

In the last few days my MB Air mid-2013 with Mavericks did an Office 2011 update to Version 14.3.9. Today I used it for the first time and Excel crashed each time I tried to use it. To get the job done I had to revert to the earlier build (version 14.3.8) from a backup and that appears to work normally.
I don't know if this is an issue with Mavericks or if the update to 14.3.9 would have crashed with ML, too. Nor do I know if Word would have crashed since I had to get the task in Excel done before an appointment.

First and foremost is that my Volume Panel no longer works correctly. It brings up this cheap pos window when I click on the Systray icon instead of the corrrect full featured interface.
It lists the merdia source programs and has a volume dial, thats all this new one has.
The other issues are that none of the software updates want to install: Alchemy, Mixer, Mediasource Go
They all give me a message after I being to install that says "can not locate layout.bin please specify the path"? and gives my a "this setip reqires a cd" window and lists a path to a temp folder inside my windows folder.
Installing these for Vista? Ultimate 32-bit.

Performance issues with latest iTunes update

Hello everyone,
I'm having somewhat of an issue with the latest update for iTunes (10.5), ever since the update was installed the 'AppleMobileDeviceService.exe' is using all my processing power.
Now I know my laptop isn't the latest spec, but before this was never an issue. The only way I can still work with it is when I turn off the service via the Task Manager.
When I launch the iTunes programme it gets even worse, another service called 'APSdeamon.exe' is eating up the processor aswell, albeit they both consume 50% now. As a result I cannot access the iTunes Store or do much else.
I do have to mention all my music is stored on an external HDD which is connected via USB to my laptop, but this was never any different.
I've reïnstalled all Apple components twice already, one including a specific deletion of all Apple program folders manually.
Since I can always turn off the services manually it isn't a big issue, but does anyone have any suggestions or ideas how this could be resolved?

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with installing the latest iTunes update. I recommend following the steps below:
Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
When you get to the step to uninstall iTunes, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.

Issues with latest itunes update?

i been having issues with the latest itunes update. i did the update but during the final installation something happened and i keep gettng a message telling me "library runtime error" or something of the sort. i deleted any and all apple from my laptop and tried reinstalling only to hav same problem. then i did a system restore to se if that would help and still had same problem. now i have itunes installed in desktop also and the same update reminder popped up and i am reluctant to do the update there for fear of the same thing happening to that as well. wondering if anyone has encountered this issue in the past and how did they resolve the problem. any and all advise is welcome.

Two issues with latest update for Windows

I have noticed 2 issues with the new update. When I have a file transfer I don't want, there is no longer a cancel link. Also, when saving a file transfer that I do want, it saved it to the default location and updated my preferences to always do that. It should respect the option setting to prompt me for a download location.

As long as you have a bullet in "choose a folder to save the file in every time" then it will not save files to a folder or automatically accept incoming files. The main exception to that is the initiation of a file for the first time on the newer clients. If it pops up about the new automatic saving you would click on "settings" and toggle it back to you preferred setting. The only other exception to that are images. Images sent to you via a mobile are sent to the cloud and will be cached/downloaded into your media folder. That cannot be avoided. You can cancel ongoing transfers on your end but not pending transfers.

If you find your Skype is not listening to your configuration changes beyond what was already mentioned, you can use the following program to reset your Skype configuration. You will need to exit completely out of Skype beforehand, otherwise the reset will be incomplete.

Issues with latest update to 7.0.2

I did the update to my Iphone 4S. Now entering my passcode causes a delay of 10 sec. It is sticking after the first number is entered. No issues with update with ipad mini. Please advise

restore it from a backup, it' s the second step

You could also get rid of the passcode and put it back after a couple of hours, you never know....

Compatibility & file corruption issues with latest LibreOffice

Prior to the most recent update of LibreOffice, I had no serious issues exchanging documents with Word users or importing, exporting and editing files in Writer.
The latest version is causing me several headaches. First, exporting to .doc format seems to create documents which Word users cannot open except in Google docs and, if opened in Google docs, they cannot edit them without the formatting disappearing. Exporting to .docx seems to work better but I don't like doing this in case the person has an older version of Word.
Also, my computer crashed while I was editing a document originally imported from Word. When I restarted, LibreOffice successfully recovered the file but the formatting was so screwed up that I had to get a fresh copy of the application form I was completing and start again. (Actually, I could copy and paste text successfully so I wasn't starting again from nothing but it was still pretty annoying as I'd almost finished the application when the crash occurred.)
Was I just unlucky? Or is anybody else seeing issues with the latest version?

Clientless SSL RDP Plugin Issues with Java 1.7 update 45

Hi All,
It appears the latest Java update (1.7 Update 45) has caused some issues with the Cisco RDP plugin for Clientless SSL VPN.
When attempting to run the plugin to connect to a host, the following error message is receieved:
I believe this may be because the plugin is unsigned which on the previous version of Java seemed to cause pop-ups prior to running. This error seems to occur in both IE and Firefox. The OS is Windows 7.
I can confirm that the previous version of Java (1.7 Update 25) worked OK with this plugin apart from the warning mentioned above.
Does anybody know of a work around or a fix for this? Does Cisco have to update their plugin for this to work on the latest Java version?

The workaround posted in the Cisco Bug is to uncheck the setting "Keep temporary files on my computer" which is found in the Java Control Panel under the General Tab / Temporary Internet Files / Settings ...
This workaround has worked for me with Jave 7 Update 45 on both PC and Mac.
I've just tested this and it has resolved the issue for me.

Issues with ios 8.3 update on iPhone 5

After updating my iPhone 5 to ios 8.3, I am unable to stream purchased music and videos from iTunes or any podcasts. I also can not stream videos on YouTube, Netflix, or Safari. Nothing works on both Wi-Fi and my normal data. If I could I would try to turn off the phone and restart but unfortunately my iPhone 5 is one of the ones that has the faulty lock button that needs to be repaired. But besides that, has anybody else been having issues with streaming music and videos?

but if you have problem with turning off the phone,
you can set up "assistive touch" from setting > general > accessibility > assistive touch (down the bottom)
you can also set this on the accessibility shortcut for the triple click on the home button to show/hide the assitive touch
you'll see a black circle floating on the screen somewhere. you can move this thing around if it blocks what you want to see/tap
now to turn off your phone you can tap the assistive touch button > device > tap and hold the 'lock screen' icon until the power off slider comes up.
so you don't really have to fix the lock button
