Issues with Lenovo g500

Hello,
I have been using Lenovo g500 for about a year now but last week there was some problem with my laptop and I had to restore windows using Lenovo's restore button. The windows restores just fine and I was able to update to Windows 8.1 althought all my data in C drive got wiped.
But now my laptop won't connect to any bluetooth device. Whenever I go to PC settings, it just says "searching for bluetooth devide but it never detects my phone or any other bluetooth devide.
Also, since my data got wiped, I have to install the drivers for my printer again but this laptop won't even recognize the CD!! It won't recognize ANY CD.
And the Lenovo Veriface won't work either now
I've searched and searched for these issues. I re-installed bluetooth drivers and lenovo veriface but they still don't work. And the bluetooth drivers never got deleted from my laptop since they were installed in Drive D but they don't.
Someone please help me I really need to print some documents but this laptop won't install my printers drivers.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Make sure you download updated drivers from Lenovo Support section. Select only drivers supported by Windows 8.1, reboot system when needed. Once drivers installed, shut down the notebook, then power up again. May take several power on/off cycles to restore drivers to full functionality.
Printer drivers may not be Windows 8.1 compatible, if on CD. I would suggest downloading latest drivers from printer manufacture website.
Good luck.

    Hello OMGitsUGOD,
i run into the same problems with my t420s, at least problems 2 and 3. I did not try to use optimus or discrete graphics settings in BIOS. I think there is something in the wiki about this, maybe you should take a look at that? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Le … IA-Optimus

  • Issues with lenovo t420s

I have three issues with my lenovo t420s, they might be related but I'm just not smart enough to fix them.
1:By default the bios is set to using optimus, and if I leave it at that x starts up all right but I don't think it is using the discrete graphics card at all? If I change the bios to use discrete graphics X fails with message "no screen found". I have seen this is an issue with optimus-laptops but I have also seen reports of getting it to boot of the discrete graphics card. So my question is simply, should it be possible to boot it of the discrete graphics card? (I have tried using both nouveau and proprietary drivers).
2: It doesn't see my display port connection. Running xrandr just shows LVDS and VGA connection, shouldn't the display port show up as well? On a side note up unitl yesterday xrandr responded with LVDS1 and VGA1, but after updating to 3.2 kernel it now responds with LVDS2 and VGA2?
3: Sometimes when I boot it thinks the vga is connected and boots with the wrong resolution. Running xrandr VGA says connected even though no cable is connected, running  xrandr --output VGA1 --off --output LVDS1 --auto (or VGA2 and LVDS2 as of yesterday) fixes the issue.

  • Issue with Lenovo T440 windows 7 x64

We have recently got a new laptop the Lenovo T440. I imported the drivers into the deployment share. I also put storage and network drivers in WinPE folder. Once i boot to the PXE and select x64 it loads in to PE and gives an error saying that "the
following network device did not have a driver installed. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_155A&SUBSYS_221417AA&REV_04." It allows me to retry or cancel. I have booted it to windows found what driver it uses which is a e1d62x64. I have made sure that that
driver was in the WinPE folder but it still isnt working i have even made it pull drivers only from a folder i created with only the t440 drivers. But that didn't work either. I am using PE version 3 (Windows 7) and all drivers i have installed are for Windows
    7. If any one could help me with this issue that would be so awesome. I want to get this to work due to us more then likely getting more T440s. The networking hardware is a I218-LM if anyone needs to know that too.

So we just got the t440s's here as well.  We faced a different issue, as the drivers being in the "general" store caused other models to blue screen.
I've got them working now, what I had to do with them is create a custom variable in the customsettings.ini called customdrivers set to no.  If it detects the model, set the variable to t440.
In the drivers, I have the t440 in their own folder(downloaded the sccm package from lenovo), and all of the others in a folder called general(no conflicts with any other device).  Under advanced configuration, I have two selection profiles as of now,
    General, and T440.
In the task sequence, with the inject drivers, I have two inject drivers task.  The first one, which under options, looks for the variable customdrivers to be set to t440, if it isn't it will move on.  If it is found, it will install only drivers
    from the T440 Selection profile.
The second one, under options, will only run of customvariables is no.  This uses the general selection profiles.
Neither of these is set to All Drivers.
I know this is not your issue, but these were the steps taken to get the t440's successfully running here, and hopefully similar steps may resolve the issue you are having.
    Best of luck.

    Hi jagadesh,
Welcome back to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the Laptop is getting heated up at the left hand side this issue seems to be hardware related but please check using the laptop on a flat surface as the air intake to the laptop will be better and for battery backup issue installing the LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) should resolve the issue, below is the link to download LEM.
Lenovo Energy Management Driver for Windows 7  &  Windows 8

  • Issues with Lenovo Ultrabook Yoga 13

    Hi,
I have a Lenovo Yoga 13 laptop which does not turn on.  If I remove the AC adaptor and battery for a few seconds and plug it back, it will turn on with no problem and everything works fine till next shutdown.
If I turn the laptop off (shutdown), it will not turn back on again till I remove the AC adaptor and battery for a few seconds.  I even tried pressing off/on switch 10 times (each time for a few seconds) and tried holding off/on switch for 30 seconds to discharge everything, but still having the same problem.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If both battery and AC power is unplugged for a few seconds, then by plugging either the power or the battery, I can turn the laptop back on with no issues, but if I do not unplug both battery and the AC power, then it would not turn on.
If I disconnect only battery or only AC power, I can not turn the unit on.  It seems that it has to discharge for a few seconds before I can turn it back on.  I even press and hold on/off switch for more than 30 seconds but it did not help.

Hi orth04, It sounds like ThinkVantage System Update is not working for you.
One alternative is to manually download and install the drivers.
The other alternative is to make System Update do what you want. Can you give us some more details about what happens?

  • Mic issue with Lenovo G710 laptop

I have a laptop Lenovo G710 which i have upgraded to Windows 10. The laptop has an inbuilt microphone.I'm going through the setup process with Cortana but my voice isn't being detected when getting Cortana to learn my voice.I have done following to try and fix it but it hasn't yet worked:
I checked in Device Manager and looked for Microphone(IDT High Definition Audio Codec) and it says Device is working properly when i go to the properties of it.The latest driver was installed 09/07/2015.
Secondly, I have tested the inbuilt microphone out by going into Control Panel, then going to Speech Recognition then click on Audio Devices and making sure that the microphone is enabled.
I then right clicked on it  Properties went to the Levels tab and increased the  Microphone level to 100. Microphone boost is set to the max level. If anyone can help me to fix this issue, it would be much appreciated.Kind Regards,

    Hey there,
I've been having the same problem for a long time now, seems like the IDT drivers for this model are fu**ed up somehow. No one ever responded to my problems. Don't expect anyone having a magical solution to this, unless someone from the Lenovo support really decides to dig deep. The newest driver is absolutely incompatible with Windows 10, even though it says it is. The mic works "fine" when listening to it through the recording devices properties, but never have I been able to make it work with Cortana, neither Skype! To temporarily solve this problem, until MAYBE a solution will come, I advise you to open Device Manager, and under Sound, video and game controllers, click right on the IDT High Definition Audio Codec, Properties, Driver, Update Driver, Browse my computer for driver software, Let me pick from a list, and select High Definition Audio Device. Your sound will sound worse, after some restarts it will maybe even go almost mute (at 100% volume set EVERYWHERE application-wise, windows-wise it will sound like 30%, 40% before), but at least the microphone will work service-ably with Cortana or Skype.
Guys could any of the official support REALLY take a look at this problem? Seems that not just me has it. This is a serious issue to solve. Thanks! (whistles in the wind, becomes forgotten in a few days)

  • Reward for helping me out. Issue with Lenovo computers and musical equipment.

I know this may seem a wierd place to put this post, but as this looks like a conflict between hardware or drivers, I think it is possible that I can get better help from computer-Techs then Music-Techs.
Help me out before I grow bald and decapitate my self in agony.
I have used the last couple of months to build a setup to sooth my needs for using Native Instruments Traktor Pro 2.03
After hours of research I came up with a solution that says:
    Computer: Lenovo T500 2.8Ghz with 4GB ram
Midi controllers: Numark Mixtrack Pro, Evolution UC-33e and Novation Launchpad
Softeware: Traktor Pro 2.03 and Midikatapult
All worked like a charm until I connected the Launchpad.
As it goes, it looks like the Launchpad and the T500 is a match made in HELL.
Whenever the Launchpad gets involved in any kind of midifeedback from Traktor or Midikatapult (for lighting up the LEDs), my computer totally freezes.
The freezes happens most of the time within a blink of an eye, and other times within half a seccond. Only options is to hard reset the computer in order to get out.
I have narrowed the issue to be some conflict between Lenovo and Launchpad.
Tried the setup on my wifes T400, with the same problem but when I hook it to my old HP it works fine (except for the HP being to slow to cope with it on a live playing basis).
Other people have the launchpad working fine on PC's with win7 pro 64bit just like me so it doesn't look like a win7 issue.
If I disable LED feedback, the setup works fine, but then I can't use midikatapult as it F&#$s my setup when I start up midikatapult. Seccondly it would be allmost impossible for me to navigate around a 80 button controller like the Launchpad without LED feedback.
I am in really pinned to the floor about having to buy another computer to get this working as the T500 sooths me perfect in all other aspects, so I am desperatly looking for a solution that doesn't envolve switching equipment or otherwise ruining me.
If you can give a usefull insight that solves this issue for me I will happily pay you 50$ for the trouble.
I really hope someone can help me out, and I know that I'm not the only one agonizing about this issue.
    Best Regards Jeppe Johansden

I don't know anything about the MIDI products you're using so all I can do is give you some genreal tips, but hey, it might help.
First question - are these products all USB-based?
Second question - have you tried using an external POWERED USB-hub?
Third question - does it do the same regardless of which USB port you're plugged into?  Some hardware seem to prefer certain ports to others.
Get back to me - will try to help.

  • Issues with Lenovo U530, unable to create a virtual machine

Hi, I have a Lenovo u530 ideapad, bought around October, running windows 8.1
I have the Oracle virtual box, installed, however when I tried to power it on, it claimed kernel issues.
I did enable virtualization in the BIOS.
    Please help, extremely frustrated here.

    Hi,
This issue may be caused by the network configuration of the client is incorrect. This includes the absence of addresses or incorrect addresses for DNS servers to locate and resolve domain controllers.
When you add the server 2 to domain, the DNS shoud be pointed to the domain controller.
Please check the DNS configuration is correct.

  • Registry issue with Lenovo Power Manager with X61

    I have the following problem.
    Hi guys,
Lenovo power manager v1,6 quit working properly lately so I googled for a solution which involved removing power schemes which had reproduced in the registry to cause an overload to the application.
Anyway because this wasnt really working (I ended up with having powerschemes but wasnt allowed to change them) I in my brightest moments decieded to delete the messed up part of my registry [HKEY_CURREN_USER --> Control panel --> PoweCfg] because it was preventing my reinstalations of said program from functioning properly since they resorted to the previosly present registryentrys.
Well it appears that when installing the powermanager it does not write these new registry entrys and Im stuck now without a way to get them back. I wonder at what point that registry entry is written in the first place, does anyone feel like exporting said part of their healthy registry...please...?

..this one is from an x200 with Server2003...seems like you're familiar enough with registry exports and wrapping and shoiuld be able to convert this into a *.reg form:

  • Issue with lenovo Desktop

I had purchased an all-in-one Lenovo desktop C540. Been a year an a half, but Hardly used. Having problems with it -  at times it crashes, now it boots up but cannot conenct to internet, cannot get to the start screen nor can I search for anything..

    hi Pcomplaint,
    Welcome to the Forums.
When you said "at times it crashes", do you mean you get BSOD errors (like this image) or after you login, the machine freezes right away?
If the machine goes into a black screen or freezes after logging-in then you may want to try these steps:
    1. On the login screen, follow this guide on how to boot in Safe Mode (see option 2).
    2. If the machine works fine in Safe Mode, follow this guide on how to perform a clean boot.
    3. If none of the above steps work, consider doing a System Restore or restart the machine then tap F2 to run System Recovery (factory restore).
As for the Internet connectivity, are you hooking up via ethernet or wireless ? If it's the latter, are you getting any specific errors while connecting (e.g., can't see the Wi-Fi network, valid IP but limited connectivity, etc.)?  One thing that you can try is to ensure that you're close to the router (e.g., within 5meters) and observe if you can connect and get internet access.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Issue with Lenovo Companion in Windows 10 TP Build 10061

For some reason, build 10061 is preventing the Lenovo Companion from picking up the type and serial number of my Yoga 3 Pro. It only displays blank fields on the warranty page:
    http://1drv.ms/1A4gAhZ
Previous builds would show the Type and Serial number on this page...
    ThinkPad 10 - 20C1002RUS
    Yoga 3 Pro

DragAcceptFiles is now working again in 10074 so whatever the problem was, it has been fixed.

  • Issue with Lenovo X201 tablet that has me stumped!

This is my laptop I use for school and I desperately need it functioning. PLEASE HELP! I usually always leave it on but one day I came home from work and it was off. The led lights (including charging light) was off. I thought the charger went bad and ordered a new one. Well, it decided to start charging again but when I power on the unit the lights all start to come on like it's going to work and the HHD light briefly lights up for only a second or 2 and the HHD light goes back off. The blu tooth light and all others stay on, the HHD light never flashes or comes back on again while powered on and there's no display at all. I've tried (while unplugged and battery out) holding the power button, repeatedly tapping the power button, holding the power button several times while holding it in several seconds each time and I even had the power button pressed for over 24 hours while unplugged and battery out. I've taken it apart and seen no visual damage to the main board as well. I am completely stumped as to why it won't even try to start up. It doesn't allow me to press the "ThinkVantage" button or any of function keys. Can anyone out there in the Lenovo or ThinkPad community help, please! I really need this functioning again for school, which starts in about 2 weeks. Thank you!

Have you tried unplugging all peripherals from the motherboard (mouse, keyboard, screen connector, and all other stuff except for the power button connector) to see if the motherboard will power on by itself. If it doesn't power on then the only solution is to get a new motherboard. If the mainboard does power on by itself then, something inside your laptop is shorting out the motherboard and thus why it won't turn on. You will have to plug in one item at a time to see what is shorting out. Hope this helps.
