Issues with my NAS - does iTunes/AppleTV not like them?
So I have a 500gb NAS I bought to store/share my media across multiple computers. What I have noticed is that when the files are stored on the NAS, the performance in terms of syncing either to the AppleTV or even my iPod touch goes considerably down. For example, when I had to do a hard reset of the AppleTV it took over 48hours to fully sync up my 60 gigs of music over 802.11g. I tried plugging the AppleTV into my router to see if that changed things, but it didn't work. I'm now concerned that with the Take 2 upgrade, it will be almost impossible to manage the music and movies that I want to store on my NAS. Has anyone else experienced this or found a workaround?

Now the things is 10 mbps is not all that quick, a 2 GB transfer to my firewire drive takes just under a minute. That aside consider that your transfer from your Pc is direct to the drive, when you sync or stream to the tv it has to be done via itunes which unfortunately creates more traffic and is likely to slow things down.
Also another thing to consider is that you say you are syncing 60 GB of music, this may well represent 12,000 files whereas 60 GB could be as little as 20 files if they were all movies. Numerous smaller files occupying the space of one larger one will always take considerably longer to transfer.
IMHO you should really get a little better than you are doing but not that much better.

Follow these instructions to completely remove Apple software

If you have 64bit Vista or Windows 7, look for the seperate download of iTunes for that further down the page.
Once installed, use the Apple Software Update under your Start Menu to fully update all Apple components.
Your content will remain on the drive in the Music > iTunes Folder, nothing is deleted.
You should be making backups of your content regularly, either through iTunes or via copying the iTunesFolder in your Music folder to a external drive.
Windows is notorious for having "other" issues that make it unstable, we as volunteers helping others can't always resolve those issues. -
I am having issues with streaming music from iTunes on my MacBook Pro to my audio system through AirPlay. Works perfectly with my iPod Touch. The AirPlay icon appears irregularly in iTunes and when selected doesn't connect. Running latest IOS software.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Does it show in the Purchased section for downloading ? Click on the Purchased under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.

I'm experiencing issue with my Verizon iPhone5s cellular service not working on 3G but LTE works great. I tried resetting network setting, new SIM card, reset iPhone to new too. I'm have the latest carrier code of 16.0. Iphone firmware 7.1.2.
I started experiencing this when verizon started advertising XLTE.
It is very frustrating when internet does not work when I'm in 3G area. Phone calls does work though. Signal is good too.

Iphone5 works fine. I tested this with other Iphone 5 and 5s.

i am syncing my ipod but it comes up with a error saying itunes could not backup the ipod because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the ipod, what do i do?
As I said the iTunes program on the computer. You open iTunes on the computer and go to the View menue in the upper rightand then click on preferences. Go to Devices and delete the backup.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
1. If you've recently plugged anything into the audio-out (headphone) port, plug and unplug it a couple of times.
2. From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Sound ▹ Output
Check the settings. The internal speakers should be selected as the output device, the Mute box should not be checked, and the volume slider should be at least halfway to the right.
3. Look inside the headphone port. If a red light is coming from the port, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a headphone mini-stereo jack of the proper size.Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
4. Boot in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime. It will take much longer than usual. You don't have to log in; just reboot as usual (without holding any keys) when the login screen appears. (Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.)
5. Reset the NVRAM.
6. Reset the SMC.
7. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data as a precaution. You won't need your backup unless something goes wrong.
8. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to bare metal from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed. -
I try to connect to iTunes and it comes up with a box saying "iTunes could not connect to the iPad because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your code on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes", but i cant enter the code on the iPad because it is saying "connect to iTunes". Can anybody help?? It is on the new iPad.
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -
FD32 - Customer credit, Issue with mass update of "TITLE OF NOTE" field

we have requirement for mass upload of credit master records. I am facing an issue with creation/populating of Title of note field. When we go directly to FD32 transaction we have a button "Services for Object" near tiltle of second screen of FD32 through which we can create a title of note (SOOD-OBJDES) but when we go to FD32 through SHDB for BDC recording, that option is not found.
Any idea on how to handle mass update for that field?

You can use function module 'SGOS_NOTE_CREATE'. to create a note after you create customer credit limit through SHDB for BDC recording. It is going to be a separate program.
Function Module Parameters:
IS_OBJECT-OBJKEY = customer no + credit control area. --> ex. 20000000140001
IS_OBJECT-OBJTYPE = BUS1010
IP_TITLE = Your title
IT_CONTENT = your note content.

Importing album with multiple discs - but itunes in not splitting discs.

I am trying to import an album (which contains 2 discs) onto itunes, but my itunes is not splitting them into disc 1 and disc 2. the result i want is, as you can see in the pictuce below;
the album i am importing is just having it all under one disc and its rather frustating! Please help

I used a usb turntable to import old vinyl records into iTunes. Then with the cloud and iTunes match I put them on another Mac. The songs come up in the music list but they are greyed out. How do I get them recognized. The symbol states the songs were downloaded from iCloud. I would like to get them to play so that I can make a playlist, and burn a CD.
