Issues with pattern fill in ps 6. Why is it making each tile a different color?

HELP!!! I've used the Fill>Pattern to tile my seamless patterns tons of times and never had this issue. Suddenly , it started making each tile on the large canvas a different color when I apply Fill>Pattern. At first I thought it was a tip or guide to see the repeat edges , but it shows up in print preview too. What did I do and how do I correct it?

Is this photoshop 6 or photoshop cs6?
If it's cs6, check that you aren't using scripted patterns for the pattern fill.
Also, check the blending mode and opacity in the fill dialog.

Problem with pattern fills

I have a black and white pattern fill (black dots on a white background). When I fill objects with it and put a sheet color behind them, sometimes the fill is translucent (meaning the color shows where the white is supposed to), but sometimes it is correctly opaque. I've tried filling the translucent objects with the opaque fills with no success. Any ideas??

HOw do you generate the color behind the object?
is it a rectangle filled with the color?
if so, check if the pattern object is set to multiply , see transparency panel.

I am still having issues with the TOC. I finally got several chapters and sections to show different pictures in the TOC, but have spent hours trying to figure out how to repeat it. This should be so simple. Is there an update? Please help us Apple.

I am still having issues with the TOC pictures. I got several chapter/section photos to show up, but can't seem to repeat this success. It is some mystery that happened during a time that I had practically given up. This should be such a simple thing. Drag and place a picture into the placeholder and it shows up in the TOC....right? Help, help help! want to get this thing done and it's taken two days of work just get some of the photos to show up. I am going to have to publish this ibook with no photos in several sections.....why can't this be simple? I have even had someone else spend hours trying to figure this out. This software is such a GREAT idea....come on...help with this little part of it.

I had the same problem myself. I got to the point where I couldn't replace the photo, of a new chapter, in the TOC. What I did was to duplicate an existing chapter that was working and was able to replace it's TOC's photo. I also found that if you try different areas of the photo you can sometimes get it to replace correctly. For example, instead of dragging the new photo to the middle of an existing photo, try dragging it to the right top corner.

I upgraded to Firefox 6 random websites are using illegible fonts from my computer instead of the default. No issues with Firefox 5 or any other browser I use. Each time I open Firefox or reinstall it a different illegible font appears. Please help.

When I delete the font that keeps showing up as the default, a new illegible font appears. The fonts are not 'garbled' they are just decorative typefaces that are being grabbed from my computer. I have never had an issue with my fonts on old Firefox versions or other browsers like chrome, safari, etc., so I don't think the issue is my fonts. I also don't want to have to delete all the fonts off of my computer. I uploaded another photo of when I deleted the font that was appearing before. Please help if anyone has found a solution to this problem with Firefox 6+ :/

A web service design issue with patterns

I�d like to ask for your help in the following design issue:
I need to create an email sending web service (with Axis). Only just one method which returns with an integer return code. This handles the following:
- based on the given parameters gets the email addresses from an
LDAP server (with netscape ldap for java)
-     makes a cache from them (only after a timeout period will be the cache
refreshed) (don�t know what tool to use for this)
-     selects html templates which to be sent based on the given parameters
-     sends emails with the appropriate templates (with Velocity)
-     the whole process is logged (with log4j)
I have to write the code as generic as possible. I know that some design pattern should be used for this. (some from GoF , and I know there exists design patterns specially created for web services as well).
Could you enumerate me which patterns (and for what part of the program) would be the best choice to solve this problem? I have read through some books about patterns, but don�t have the knowledge to pick up the right one for a concrete problem like this..

I would also advise that you not embed all this in a servlet. Make a service that collaborates with several objects to accomplish the task and let the serlvet just call it.

Issue with Billing.....Why!!!

Hi All,
Dont often moan about this but I think this is the third time I have written on this forum about my billing.
I used to be on a one monthly bill but the direct debit used to come out of my bank account 2 days before I got paid....yes I should save the money....no im not a good saver, so it had to be changed!
I then got a massive bill...Shocked but realised what BT had done, put me on a quarterly bill, however, they expect me to pay more than what I am going to use.
Everytime I call BT when I get a bill, I have to call them up to tell them I will pay them what is expected for each of the three months, my bills should come up to about £40 a month but BT insist on wanting over £60..I can not afford this!!
I have been in contact with the bank and requested my money back, this was done with no problem, I then called BT to tell them this......My first call was to a high pitched speaking man who did not understand my request and put me on hold for what seemed forever.....he then passed me to the menu to choose what services I want......NOT HAPPY!!!
Overall, I feel that I have once again been mislead by BT and promises that can not be met! Im hoping the BT Forum Teams can help me ;-)

Assuming you're not starting the quarter with a debit balance, you should be able to do that. Ever since I got my account into balance about a year ago the monthly payment has been the cost of my basic package plus a couple of quid for non-inclusive calls, which achieves a roughly zero balance each quarter.
You can adjust the amounts yourself in MyBT. I've never had a problem with it, though obviously it's necessary to readjust the monthly payment now and then (eg any day now when I get my bill with this month's price increases).

Issues with form fill by multiple processors

To put in simple words the scenario is something like this:
I have an interactive form with one field (field1). When the user submits this form it will start a Guided Procedure. Lets call this as Form1.
In the first action of the guided procedure, I am creating another interactive form with field1 and a new field (field2) and sending it by mail to the processor. This guy downloads the form, enters a value in field2 and submits back to GP. Lets call this is as Form2. (I am mapping field1 of form1 to field 1 of form2).
The next step is a RFC callable object which takes these 2 fields as input.
At first I tried to take both the fields from Form2 and map to the action of RFC callable object.. then I got errors (cannot handle text/html.. probably because GP engine was trying to throw some errors in HTML) while submitting the form2.
Then I tried to take field1 from form1 and field2 from form2... still got the same error.
Then I tried to assign default value to field1, still got the same error.
When I did not map field1 at all, the submission of form2 worked. However, my RFC failed (obviously).
How can handle this situation? How can I see the errors that GP is tryinig to throw? defaultTrace.trc log is not showing any errors.

Hi Ram
You can activate all type of GP messages in 'defaultTrace.trc'. Sometimes important thing is not an Error. Go to Visual Admin -> Services -> Log Configuration -> Locations, enable Advanced Mode, go to location 'com/sap/caf/eu/gp' and switch over a severity on it from Error to All.

Why do text boxes show up as different colors when they are the same color?

I am baffled. I have created an InDesign document and I used the rectangle tool to create a blue box at the top of the document and one at the bottom. They are both filled with CMYK (100, 88, 35, 28). The one on the top of the document shows darker than the one at the bottom. I thought it was a document issue, so I created a new document. It does the same thing. I took the box at the top and moved it to the bottom and when it hit the half way point of the document, it changed colors (got lighter).

Color shift when filling with pattern

I use the 'define pattern' and 'fill with pattern' feature in photoshop all the time to prepare graphics for print / production in my business. However, I have noticed a small but problematic color shift going from the main image (defined pattern) to the page (filled with pattern). You can see it in the image included here. The main image is vibrant, and lighter and the page behind it is dull and darker. It will print this way too. The main image prints great, and gets approved. But the page layout doesn't match. Both documents are set to sRGB color space when I check the Edit -> Color Settings option. Any ideas how to correct this? Thanks!!

Hello, in your screenshot, the first tab in the background has no profile that's what (#) means in the title of the tab, untitled one and two have the same profile as the working space (which tab is visible?), while the one in the foreground as a different profile than the working space that's what (*) means in the title bar.
So, that tells me they do not have the same profile.
Also, is there noise or very small textures in the circles? You might want to look at them all with the same magnification.
Finally, a smart object can be of a different color space than the document that holds it.

I am having issues with my mac book pro backing up

It is taking days. I have 5200 photos on it and a few problems so the mac guys said to back it up so they can do a few things to it but nothing major. Why is it taking SO long to back up? It's at 7.45 GB and will be complete at 41 GB.

Exchange 2013 issue with High memory Usage on Mailbox server post SP1 update.

So we have been chugging along fine since Feb 2 2014.
I performed a migration from 2010 from the UK to the US doing "incremental" mailbox moves. (get in contact with me if you want to know how. But we moved 400 Mailboxes averaging at 2gb a piece from the UK to the US, over the transcontinental link.
& then the weekend of the final, had everyone & everything done by the end of the cutover weekend)
Any woot.
So I applied the 2013 SP1 a few weeks back, & have intermitantly been alerted to the memory spiking over 95%. For me (and for any exchange admin) when i get those types of alerts i drop everything & run to the nearest PC to see what is going on.
Now the first & second time, it was an issue with logs filling up the drives, & my clean log script not running to remove any logs older than 30 days. But since then it has been legitimate 95%+ memory usage.
For the most part its been 95-97 max, with 1 or 2 times hitting 98. After some time, the memory does drop back down to 94.
this is ....umm "fine" however it is becoming a nuisance, since most of the time it corrects itself. What i dont want to happen is get into the groove of saying "ah bah! its nothing" & letting it go.
the server has 16gb of memory in it, it is the Mailbox server (CAS /Frontend is on a seperate server)
below is a screen shot, so i know the Storeworker grabs whatever it feels like grabbing, however it does NOT EVER release memory. I also see the NodeRunner.exe (2 of them) is always around 900 almost a MB
now if i could somehow get the first 2 Storeworkers to drop down to 900ish, then that should alleviate my memory issues.
what I am m looking for is some type of "magic bullet" to put my memory issues at ease..

Exchange NEVER releases the memory when other things need it. As the users state in your thread you linked. (i came across that early in my search for a resolution). An example is if another admin & myself log into the backend server at the same
time & begin clicking around opening things, etc..Memory will go to 100% which = No Buenos.
There are numerous post all over the internet from people who say it releases, but them 5 more comments to that 1 saying that it does not.
I know what the process's do, however it seems like the SP1 has increased memory usage, as typically the Store.exe would only grab about 900-1000.
in terms of the noderunner, once again i know its role, however we are now 2 months+ live on 2013 post migration, I do not think it is still indexing all those emails.

The co-op have withdrawn the iPad 3 from sale and it will be replaced by a new iPad. Does anyone know if there is an issue with the iPad 3 that would have led to the upgrade? Thanks Mark

No, there's absolutely no issue. I guess the co-op just thought that now that the new iPad is available, and costs the same as the iPad 3 used to cost, it might as well offer the latest.

Performance issues with Homesharing?

I have a Time Capsule as the base station for my wireless network, then 2 Airport Express setup to extend the network around the house, an iMac i7 as the main iTunes Library and couple of iPads, and a couple of Apple TVs. Everything has the latest software, but I have several performance issues with Home sharing. I've done several tests making sure nothing is taking additional bandwidth, so here are the list of issues:
1) With nothing else running, trying playing a movie via home sharing in an iPad 2 which is located on my iMac, it stops and I have to keep pressing the play button over and over again. I typically see that the iPad tries to download part of the movie first and then starts playing so that it deals with the bandwidth, but in many cases it doesn't.
2) When trying to play any iTunes content (movies, music, photos, etc) from my Apple TV I can see my computer library, but when I go in on any of the menus, it says there's no content. I have to reboot the Apple TV and then problem fixed. I's just annoying that I have to reboot.
3) When watching a Netflix movie on my iPad and with Airplay I send the sound to some speakers via Airplay through an Airport Express. At time I lose the connection to the speakers.
I've complained about Wifi's instability, but here I tried to keep everything with Apples products to avoid any compatibility issues and stay within N wireless technology, which I understood it was much more stable.
Has anyone some suggestions?

you should analyze the db after you have loaded the tables.
Do you use sequences to generate PKs? Do you have a lot of indexex and/or triggers on the tables?
If yes:
make sure your sequence caches (alter sequence s cache 10000)
Drop all unneeded indexes while loading and disable trigger if possible.
How big is your Redo Log Buffer? When loading a large amount of data it may be an option to enlarge this buffer.
Do you have more then one DBWR Process? Writing parallel can speed up things when a checkpoint is needed.
Is it possible using a direct load? Or do you already direct load?

Sensitivity Issue With Stylus on Yoga S1

I recently purchased the Thinkpad Yoga S1 and use it for school. I mainly use the tablet mode for writing notes in class. I am having issues with the sensitivity of the pen when using OneNote, mainly when switching from different pens or highlighters. The pen will start marking on the screen without actually touching the screen with the stylus. I have been able to mark on the screen while holding the pen up to 2 or 3 inches from the screen. I have calibrated the pen multiple times which ends up being hit or miss if it actually helps.
TL;DR The stylus is writing in OneNote while being held up to 2 inches from the screen. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I have the EXACT same issue. I have been doing research and have not found a solution. It is very irritating. I want to like my new Yoga, but am getting frustrated with quirks like this one... especially compared to the intuitive performance of my other Apple products. Please help me find a solution so that I can feel better about my new work computer that I was so excited to receive! Thanks!!!

I checked the notes, first two are valid if the graph is not displayed at all. The last note discusses the problem with Team Calendar.
We are facing the issue with Attendance Overview. The graph is getting displayed. But instead of pink color (for open leave requests), dark blue color gets displayed, with dark black lines around it.
If there are no open requests, graph gets displayed correctly. Please suggest the solution.
