  • Firefox 3.6.23 having freezing and rebooting issues with Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin

Firefox 3.6.23 is experiencing constant freezing and rebooting issues with Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin, not sure if it is a conflict issue or not.
Since the update there had been no reported issues till today when the blue screen came up on me, this issue prior to plug in 11 had occurred at least 6 times, this issue only happens on firefox.
I do not wish to update since recent firefox browsers seem to have a lot of ongoing issues.

    Anyone able to help please?
    Thanks.

  • Having issues with Adobe Flash player hanging the browser

Having issues with Adobe Flash player hanging the browser.
    WIN 7 enterprise 32 bit / Firefox 19.0.2 /
Internal company website keeps giving attached screen shot error, and hangs the browser when error pops up.
    Steps taken:
Uninstalled Adobe Flash player with the file “uninstall_flash_player.exe”
    Deleted provided directory in instructions
"Copy and paste the following and click OK.
    C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
Delete all the files in this folder."
Rebooted PC and reinstalled the flash player directly from “http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html”
Re launched company website and received same error.
Repeated above steps as well as uninstalled Firefox browser.  Even went so far as to remove all profile information to start fresh from all profiles on the laptop with the same results.
Note: The web page will work without the flash player plugin, and my page doesn’t hang the browser. Required to open page in FireFox per company policy.

I'm sorry you're encountering this.  Could you paste a few of the most recent report ID links displayed when you go to "about:crashes" in the Firefox address bar?
As for workarounds, the first thing I'd suggest is trying our 11.7 labs release which you can get here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html
If that doesn't help, please try the troubleshooting steps outlined in this FAQ:
How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
In particular, I'd recommend temporarily disabling protected mode (for troubleshooting purposes only) to see if that addresses the issue.

  • Issue with Adobe Flash Player- Help

I used to be able to use my webcam! I downloaded the Adobe Flash Player and now I can't use it anywhere!
I am unable to see the Privacy pop-up allowing me to Allow or Deny access to my camera & microphone.
Then when I get to the settings on one site, I see only 3 tabs: Display, Microphone & Camera.
    Help?
I have it clicked on my built in iSight.
Before I downloaded the it I clicked on USB Video Class Video and it worked. Now that doesn't even show up!

Since it is nothing to do with FMS and looks like more of a flash player issue - it would be good if you post your query here : http://forums.adobe.com/community/webplayers/flash_player

  • Issues with Adobe Flash Player installation

My computer said I needed to update Adobe Flash Player, so I did and it says that I have it in my programs, but when I try to look at stuff on the internet it still keeps saying that I don't have it or need to update. I have been trying to fix this for the last 3 days, uninstalling and reinstalling and doing everything your website said to fix it. It still isn't working. I've done all the manage add-ons and enabling scripts things you said to do and nothing works. Please help! My daughter likes to play games and watch videos on here and we do everything on this computer, never had a problem until the last several days. This computer is fairly new, 64-bit using Windows 7. Do I need to have the flash player plug-in also if I already have Flash Player 11?

Check if ActiveX Filter is enabled; it needs to be disabled.
P.S. you only need the plugin for other browsers than IE (e.g. Firefox).

  • Issues with IE Flash Player

This week I have started seeing issues with swf files
published in version 7 (well behind the current version) when
viewed in IE 7 browsers. Fonts are missing (for static text),
opacities are rendered incorrectly and layering is often discarded.
I suspect that Microsoft has their own version of a swf player due
to their recent attempts to create their own flash authoring
environment (or so I've heard). My issue was resolved by upgrading
(explicitly) the Adobe Flash player but the problem is that IE 7 is
no help to the user; it won't try to help the user get the right
player like Firefox does. Is there a sniffer or other code to
override whatever ridiculousness is happening with IE? Any ideas or
theories on what is really happening?

That sounds like you have an older Flash Player installed

That is not at all the case. they have no Flahs Player and
    they have no
    Flash authoring tool.

Yes .. its up to the web site HTLM to say what version is
    required. There
are flash detection kits availale for web site authors to do
    this.

  • Issue with latest Flash Player version when replaying videos

I am using an older version of JWplayer "5.10.2295" in a lot of sites and it was working fine so far. Since the latest version of Flash Player came out the videos can't be played a second time on any browser on Windows. It is working fine for me on Mac - quickly tested in Firefox (Nightly) and Safari (latest stable).
Reverting to an older version showed that everything was working fine before. I tried the latest 13 and 14 from Archived Flash Player versions
Has this kind of issue been reported already? Any change in the upcoming beta that might fix this?

  • Issue with Firefox & Flash Player Installation

This topic has probably already been brought up but I need
some help, please! I can't seem to find anything that matches
exactly what I'm going though here.
Yesterday I did a clean install of Vista. (I had some missing
.dll files for some reason). I re-installed Firefox, and went
through with all the Windows updates, etc. and everything has been
fine. Today, I have been trying to install Flash Player through
Firefox (Flash player is working fine on IE). It goes through the
motion of downloading it from the Adobe site, and it also states
that the download is complete, but when I go to a website such as
Facebook, it's giving me a couple of messages. The actual site's
message is: "Flash Player upgrade required. You must download and
install the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player to view this
content." as well as I get the yellow bar up top from Firefox
saying, "Additional plugins are required to display all the media
on this page" and has a button to click saying "Install missing
plugins". When I click on either this button or the "Download
Flash" button on the actual webpage, again, it goes through the
motion of downloading it, but that's as far as it goes. In my
"downloads" window, it shows a bunch of times that I had downloaded
the flash player, but it doesn't even give me the option to open
    the file.
Up until yesterday, I did in fact have flash on Firefox.
Another thing I noticed, was when I re-installed Firefox, the
download scheme is a little different (I don't have the download
box at the bottom of the window anymore and I'm not sure why or if
this is just a new version of Firefox that I didn't have before.)
In any event, when I would save the flash player during the
download, I tried a couple of different locations (desktop and
another location in C drive) but when I go to those locations,
    there is nothing there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Carla

I was having the same problem installing Flash 10 for Firefox
and getting the "Insufficient Disk Space" message. I believe this
happens to people whose main local disks have a name other than
"C:" Mine is "G:" I think the problem is that its an install
package that automatically tries to install it on a C: local disk
directory. There is no option to manually install it to a different
directory, so we seem to be out of luck.
However, I did find a link explaining how to manually install
    it:
    http://www.varesano.net/blog/fabio/installing+flash+player+plugin+firefox+without+having+a dministrator+access+or+premissions
At step 1. Right click the link and choose "Save Link As" and
delete the ".xpi" extension and type ".zip" to save the file as a
    ".zip" file.
Even though the instructions are for a different problem, I
followed the steps and it worked fine for my problem as
    well.

How do you install Flash Player?

  • No matter if it's a Mac or a PC, FireFox refuses to refresh Flash files. Updated Flash files are showing up as old,out dated, Flash files. Is there an issue with the Flash Player PlugIn?

I have created a simple Flash menu for use on multiple site. They all access the same flash file. My original flash file only had a few links and tabs. The new one has more links, and a "LIVE" button at the bottom. But in Fire Fox, those that saw the original can not see the updated version in FireFox. They see it if they use Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc. This issue comes up on all operating systems. This issue only occurs with FireFox. I've tried clearing FireFox's Cache but that doesn't seem to be working either.

Your server file handling has nothing, and really nothing to do with Adobe software. If files don't get locked for (over-)writing and/or lose connection to the program opening them, then your server is misconfigured. It's as plain and simple and that. Anything from "known file types"/ file associations not being set correctly, MIME types being botched, crooked user privileges and file permissions, missing Mac server extensions, delayed file writing on the server, generic network timeout issues and what have you. Either way, you have written a longwinded post with no real value since you haven't bothered to provide any proper technical info, most notably about the alleged server. Either way, the only way you can "fix" it is by straightening out your server and network configuration, not some magic switch in Adobe's software.

  • Privacy/Security Issue with Adobe Flash 10

Not sure if anyone has noticed this or not, but there is a
bizarre (if minor) privacy/security issue with Adobe Flash Player
    10. I came across it while attempting to upload a file to Flickr.
Previous versions of AFP do not exhibit this problem.
    Specifics: using Firefox 3.x, Vista.
The problem: When Flickr calls the "open file" dialogue in
Flash 10 (in order to upload files) via the "Upload Photos and
Videos" link, at the bottom of the dialogue, to the right of the
"File Name" box, sits a common UI element that brings up a dropdown
menu of what appear to be (or at least are supposed to be) recently
viewed or downloaded or accessed files. Actually I'm not sure how
Flash 10 compiles or accesses this list of files, but at any rate,
a list of files come up.
The problem is that, as far as I can tell, the list of files
that come up reference a long list of files, some that are very old
and that no longer exist, and that there is no way that I can find
to clear the list. This is a minor security/privacy issue, as
generally there should be a way to prevent a dialogue from
displaying a long list of past-accessed files by clearing a cache
somewhere or other -- imagine if it was impossible to clear the
history of a web browser, for example -- this would be considered a
pretty significant privacy issue. I have tried everything from
flushing the browser cache to uninstalling and reinstalling the
browser to uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Flash to using the
Flash Settings Manager to clear out the Flash saved sites to
turning off Vista indexing to clearing out Vista's Recent Items
list. None of these actions did anything to clear out this list of
files. I can find no references to these files anywhere when I use
Vista Search (with unindexed and system files searched as well),
and I can find no reference to the files anywhere in the registry
(I checked just in case Flash 10 was storing this index in some
really bizarre place.) I've linked to a screenshot below of what
I'm talking about -- most of the files listed below were deleted a
long, long time ago, and so I have no idea why this dialogue refers
    to them.
    Screenshot
Is there a simple work-around for this that I'm unaware of?
Even if there is, there needs to be some more obvious way to clear
out this list. Where is this information being stored, and what
criteria does this list use to "put a file on the list"?

Thanks for putting me on the right scent. That's what I'd
originally thought, too -- it's just that the file-> open dialog
was giving an entirely different list of files with other
applications, so I assumed that it must be Flash that was the
culprit. Turns out the reason it was different with Flickr was
because it was restricting the file results via a long string of
video and picture filetypes that are compatible with the Flickr
    service.
It turns out the information I'm looking for is buried deep
within the registry. The only way to clear out this list of files
is to delete the following key (or specific subkeys):
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSavePidl MRU
Seems more than a little stupid to store such information in
the registry if security is your concern. Vista beguiles me
    sometimes.
