Issues with statistical modeling in calendar months vs 13 fiscal periods

In our demand planning, we plan at the fiscal period level (13 fiscal periods across a year - not matching with calendar months or year). We are having issues (strange results) trying to run the statistical modeling at the fiscal period level versus the calendar month level. Is there a way to run the stat modeling over fiscal periods rather than calendar months? Can we run stat modeling over a specific date range rathn than including the current month?

Hi Stephen, I guess I can assume the following:
1) In the master forecast profile, you have maintained the period indicator and the fiscal year variant
2) You are choosing a forecast strategy in univariate profile (?) that makes use of seasonality, and you are trying to maintain the number of periods in a season as 13 (in our case, our periods are custom, but there are still 12 periods, so different from your case)
3) Your history horizon in master forecast profile is more than the number of periods in the season i.e. history has more than 13 periods of data
If above things are already done and you still face issue when you try to use 13 periods in a season, looks to me like a SAP bug, and it would be best to raise an OSS message to SAP.

Issues with Organizational Model in CRM

Hi guys,
           We are implementing CRM 5.0 and I generated Organizational Model in system using Report: CRM_ORGMAN_R3_ORGDATA_GENERATE. This report generated organizational model with no errors. But there is a issue with org model:
In our R/3 system same sales office are assigned to multiple sales area and same salesgroups are assigned to multiple sales office due to this in CRM when the org model generated it only assigned the sales office and sales group to sales org 1000 however sales org 2000 and 3000 left unassigned.
eg:

And after generation in CRM:

When I am trying to create it manually then it gives me an error: "attribute_R/3_SA_ORG with value xyx already assigned".
Did anybody faced similar issue?
I even ran the report for to change the org model to enhanced version but it didnt helped.

Hi Ankit,
Its common that the sales office are only assigned to the first sales organiz unit in
CRM structure in PPOMA_CRM. The same for the sales groups that are only assigned under the first sales office unit in CRM structure in PPOMA_CRM.
No mather, the important thing is that under Function tab > Sales office tab, for a sales office, the system has all the possible combinations for R/3 sales org, R/3distribution channel and R/3 division.
And the same under Function tab > Sales group tab, for a sales group, that must contain the possible combinations for R/3 sales org, R/3 sales office, R/3distribution channel and R/3 division.
In this way, you have the structure like:
SALESORG1001
   SALESOFFICE 1100
       SALESGROUP 100
   SALESOFFICE 1200
   SALESOFFICE 1300
SALESORG1002
SALESORG1003
But inside SALESOFFICE 1100 details you have something like:
Sales office tab:

This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.

Issues with Pre and syncing Calendar

I have been having issues since a software push from Palm. Not for sure if it is an issue with my Exchange server or the phone. When I go to sync, it does pick up the emails and contacts but not the meetings. We have deleted my account and recreated it several times. The meetings in the calendar originally appear but will be removed once resync is done OR if I move to another date. The meeting maker reminders for the meetings do pop up however after the resync is done.
Any ideas?

Issues with a Skype contact for months

Alright, looking back at the chat logs, it looks like the issues began in April. There was a week of me trying to contact this guy. After that conversation that followed, I was unable to make contact with him for about 2 months despite his always being displayed as online. Coincidentally, it was when I installed the Skype for iPad app that communication was able to start up again.
We held some conversations for three days, and then there was another three month period of no responses despite his "online" status. I finally made it acknowledged that there HAS to be an issue, and sent a message or two to him after having installed the Skype for iPhone app. Coincidentally again, he got back to me saying he got the messages and thinks a problem is at hand. He hasn't responded to any messages in a month, and now he is never online at all.
I've tried everything I could. I've installed and uninstalled the Skype apps for both the iPad and iPhone and sent messages from both, I've cleared the AppData/Roaming/Skype info only to have the same results except this time with his avatar/name gone, I've cleared a great deal of the Skype registry info to no avail, I've installed and uninstalled Skype and even installed as far back a version as I could. Nothing seems to be working.
The one critical thing here is that I believe he uses a Mac/iPad as Skype mediums, not sure if he still uses the iPad app.
I don't think I was blocked, it seems out of character for this person to have blocked me. iPad/Mac related issues could be at hand, but that's no definite. This person may also have been too busy to have been online the past month, but he would have told me in the message he sent to me and there is still room for skepticism of that after months of this issue.
Any ideas? Even if I never get to contact this person again, this has almost become a challenge of sorts to see if I can solve the mystery of what has happened, it has become interesting somewhat in that regard.

Send that person an e-mail and inquire about it. Otherwise it's all just one big guessing game. You might also consider creating a new account, identifying yourself and request to be added under the new account. You never know if they accidentally blocked you. This way if that person is available and wants to communicate with you they can. If they don't they won't.

Are you gaming or watching videos when the unit heats up? As your core temperatures rise, it's normal for the fans to speed up - but if you're not running any CPU/GPU intensive apps, it's not normal for your MBP to heat up or for the fans to run high. Download the free iStat Pro widget and either record or take a screen shot of your temps and fans speeds. Oh, and your MBP should not heat up just because you're using the power adapter.

Issue with distribution model

We are trying to set up payroll posting document via ALE interface. We have done the following settings
1. Distribution model setup with filters on for standard bapi's
2. Partner profile setup
3. RFC destination setup
When we try to post payroll data,it was returned with the following errors
       RFC destination is not maintained for object BUS6001 and method PRECHECKPAYROLLACCOUNTASSIGN
       RFC destination is not maintained for object BUS6001 and method PRECHECKPAYROLLACCOUNTASSIGN
       The account assignment objects could not be checked
       The account assignment objects could not be checked
       RFC destination is not maintained for object BUS6004 and method CHECK
       The G/L account could not be checked
We verified RFC destination and it was working fine. Type of user used in RFC dest is Communciation. Hope this is not a issue.
Although above issues are very general, couldn't find relevant solution for this.

Issues with Alarm Clock and Calendar Notifications

I have noticed that when I am using the Alarm clock, it will not go off when the calendar is showing a meeting reminder....
Is there any way to dis-activate this? My alarm clock will not work.. and there are too many appts in my calendar to go thru them to change...

I also have the same issue. If the alarm is set and the calendar sends a notification just prior to the alarm time, the calendar notification prevents the alarm from going off. I understand it is a bug, but when will it be fixed? What is the bug ID? how do we track known bugs so we know they are being fixed? The problem is with the iPhone's included clock and calendar apps, so it is not a 3rd Party application issue, right? Thanks!

Issues with statistical WBS

Hi,
I've created a project profile for statistical WBS elements. I've also created network profile (which calls external number ranges) for this project. When I create a project in CJ20N, I'm encountering some issues. There is no issues when creating WBS elements. But the problem is, when creating networks, I'm getting a message stating "Receiver categ. WBS is not allowed by settlement prof. 000090 for this sender". What do you think should be the issue?

since the WBS is statistical you cannot settle to it
your settlement profile 00090 on the network type configuration needs to be changed accordingly

Evolution 3.2.2-1 issue with online accounts (google calendar)

I have my Google account in the online accounts feature in gnome 3, so I was hoping the gnome 3 calendar would show my Google Calendar events, without success.
I did a quick search on google on how to achieve this, and I found this guide
I figured I needed to install evolution since it wasn't installed in the first place, which I did, but I found a Google Calendar already set (I guess due to the online accounts thing) and also an IMAP account for Gmail.
My problem is that the Google Calendar on evolution is not syncing, and if I try to close evolution then it hangs and I have to do xkill.

Issue with Insignia Model NS-LCD32

Today I bought a Dynex HDMI cable to use with my television. I hooked it up to my Xbox 360, and now whenever I play Modern Warfare 2 I get this static-like crackle from the speakers whenever there's a large explosion. Could I get some advice on how to fix this, please?

If you have a bass adjustment on your TV turn it down. I get the same thing from the Home Theater setup and its the 360. Its the way it's reproducing the sound during the game. You could also change the settings on the 360 but I haven't played with it yet so I don't know what to set it to.

Multiple Issues with HTC 8X and Verizon Doesn't Care

I have had this phone for three months and had this issue the whole time. Searched Verizon and Windows forums and found the same thing. Only Verizon HTC 8X having this issue. On top of that I am now having hardware issues. Phone SIM not showing up as connected and have to restart or re-seat the SIM. Battery life has gone down drastically. Overnight charge gets me 11 hours tops without using my Data plan with WIFI off and other major apps closed out. Shouldn't have to do that to utilize features on a smart phone. As soon as I begin using my data plan the 11 hours is cut in half. Not to mention if I use the phone for GPS navigation it gets drained in 30 minutes to and hour. Then the software is now freezing. Either freezes completly and have to restart or applications i try to open, stall and then go back to the start menu. I have to then power off the phone which freezes and 15 minutes later powers off. 3 months into the phones contract. Ridiculous. Bought from Letstalk.com and they told me I am SOL. 14 days for return and 30 for exchange. Go see HTC. HTC says i'm SOL. Go to Verizon and get a new SIM. Factory Reset the device as well. If that doesn't help, ship it to us and we will repair. Are you kidding. I am a consultant for a major merger and acquisition company that deals with infrastructure practices all day. Send you my phone for repair on a 3 month old phone. Are you kidding me. Finally talked to Verizon. They are not consciously aware of the HTC 8x missed call three beep scenario when it has been on there forums since December of this year. With all my issues they told me I'm SOL. I don't want to send it in for repair. That is ridiculous. What will that solve. A couple of the issues. What about the three beep issue the has plagued me for months. A refurbished of a different model from two years ago, no thanks. I received a new phone three months ago. So you wanna make it my fault and tell me here take an iphone 4 from two years ago from 300 dollars. I am furious with this and want to proceed with making sure this lack of decent service for an issue like this is resolved and others don't have to face this type of treatment. I paid good money for a smartphone with reliable service. So far i'm being told to bend over and take it from everyone. I feel that the three beep issue alone is a breach of the contract I have with Verizon and I should be able to constitute that right and terminate this disease.

I received my new "reconditioned" phone to replace my 6 month old Droid 4.
The replacement phone only holds a charge for 6 hours or so, with minimal
use (no internet).
I am VERY unhappy. I left a message with the store employee who helped me
activate the replacement
phone, but have not heard back. This is really disappointing. I paid a lot
of money AND signed an additional
2 year contract in order to purchase my Droid 4. Now I am stuck with a piece
of junk phone as is my other
employee who has a replaced Droid 4 as well. The store even told me they had
"issues" with this model (battery completely died on my phone 619-XXX-XXXX
as well as on 760-XXX-XXXX).
We concluded that when both our Droid 4 phones died within a couple of
months of each other.
AT the very least, we should have our phones replaced with new, so they can
at least hold a charge and be used for
our business as the purpose they were purchased for.
I would think making this right, since this is quite obviously NOT our fault
would be clear if you expect to retain customers.

Dell Laptops E7440 & E7240 - Issues with connecting to MDT 2012 deployment share

Good afternoon.Need help on this please
-Test laptops Iam using are 2 * E7440 and 1*E7240. One laptop of model E7440 has our image installed and other two (1*E7440 & 1*E7240) are shipped from Dell with default Win 7 64 bit OS.
-Test desktops Iam using are Dell Optiplex 3020 & Dell 3010 . Both models have our own images of Win 7 64 Bit.
-Laptops and desktops are on same network .
-For OS deployments we have MDT 2012.
-While there are no issues with desktops, all the laptops mentioned above don’t connect to MDT deployments share . The detailed error message I get when I run a litetouch ISO is ‘A connection to the deployment share could not be made. Connection OJ.Possible
cause:invalid credentials. Retry : Try again to connect to the deployment share.’
-Have injected all possible network & storage drivers mentioned by Dell & Intel into MDT boot image but the problem still persists. Still WinPE doesn’t detect network adapter wherein IPaddresses are not picked in WinPE mode.
-Have been testing each and every driver by manually loading them into Winpe mode to see if they pick up the IP addresses and I finally found one driver by name ‘e1d63x64.inf ‘ which I downloaded directly from Intel website. This one is picking IP Address
in WinPE mode when loaded manually. Also have tested the connectivity to MDT server in WinPE mode with net use command and it was successful.
Have injected this driver into MDT Laptop deployment share, regenerated the ISO and tried again however Iam still unable to connect to the deployment share with litetouch ISO.
The above driver is very much part of set of network drivers on Dell website too.But it doesn’t work.
-Have also tried combination of network & storage drivers from Dell website (along with the above one mentioned ) injecting them into the MDT laptop boot image but no luck.
-Every time I make changes to drivers in boot image,I update deployment share & recreate boot image .
-This very litetouch iso connects to MDT deployments share for Dell desktop models 3010 & 3020 but have issues with laptop models E7440 & E7240. This means any connectivity or access issues can be ruled out. Also no problem with our image cause
this happens even with brand new shipped laptops with your inbuild win 7 OS.
-Have tried all options suggested on internet,tested all the drivers suggested but no luck.
-For example I tried latest E7440 netwrok & storage drivers ,Dell Win PE drivers,drivers from Intel website,etc individually as well as in combinations but the issue persists.
-If you google many express similar issues with these laptop models.
Though I used the drivers suggested by various bloggers,nothing worked for me.

I have several E6420, O3010 and since a week also some E7440 and E7240 on site.
I never had issues using the current Dell PE package for MDT.
At the moment my PE contains only the drivers from the Dell PE 3.0 package (WinPE3.0-Drivers-A13-D67JC)
and all my systems mentioned abobe have no issues connecting to the deployment share.
(btw: I have also some older E6400, E6410 and O390 I do no longer support, they
are supported by the pack Dell-WinPE-Drivers-A05.CAB according
to the Dell site, but I just started a deplymenst on a E6410 and is is also workign with just the latest PE pack)
I'd
suggest you start over with your deplyoment share using at least MDT2012 Update 1.
Create a folder "PE" under "Out-of-Box Drivers" and extract latest Dell PE pack and import he drivers there
Create a selection profile e.g. "PE Drivers" and include just the "PE" folder created above
When configuring the Windows PE settings of your deployment share select "PE
Drivers" selection profile for the driver injection in the "Drivers and Patches" to keep the PE image free of not needed drives.

Issue with empty value of LOV of first row after clicking on add row button

I have a page with table-form layout.
In the form I have two detail tables on the same page (tabbed).
I have an issue with using model-choicelist LOV's in the detail tables.
I am able to add a new row in the detail table, select a value from the model-choiceList LOV (which is required) and save the new row.
After adding another row in this table the value of the model-choiceList LOV in the previous row is suddenly empty on the screen. It is not empty in the database,
I have checked it in the datbase. Only the value of the LOV of the first row on the page is being cleared after clicking on the add row button.
After saving the new row I get the following error on the screen:
Error: a selection is required. --> first row
Does anyone have a suggestion how to solve this issue?

After adding another row in this table the value of the model-choiceList LOV in the previous row is suddenly empty on the screen. It is not empty in the database, Is the complete LOV blank or only the selected value .. can you try putting autoSubmit=true in the LOV and try ? Also check if you have any partialTriggers on the LOV from the add button ?

The SAWITH3 and SAWITH6 dimensions using time series fuctions are causing a full table scan on W_GL_BALANCE_F and W_GL_ACCOUNT_D . Though we are interested in just getting 2009/11 data; the queries generated by time series function TODATE is taking us against entire W_DAY_D data and is causing several performance issues.
W_GL_BALANCE_F table has index on GL_ACCOUNT_WID and BALANCE_DT_WID.
How can we force to use index on these columns for better performance.
Please advise us on the right approach to improve performance.

Hi Srini,
I've had quite a bit of performance issues with ToDate and Ago. I tended to create materialized views on my fact tables that would materialize those values as columns and that way I would avoid having to use the ToDate or Ago functions. Is there any chance you can implement a similar solution and bypass the time series functions entirely?
Just to check, those tables belong to BI Apps, right? If so, you can log an SR about the performance issue since it's an issue with the model that Oracle sold you.
