IStore preferred address

Hi there,
Oracle® iStore Implementation and Administration Guide for 11.5.10 says as following on page 461 : Preferred addresses -- Users can flag one billing and one shipping address
as preferred. Oracle iStore then uses the preferred addresses when data is
defaulted into shopping carts during checkout. Note that if a new address is
created and marked as preferred, the previous preferred address is
unmarked as preferred.but after logging in and in profile/contact information I do not see anything which can let user select an address and set it as prefered. how can we do this? is there any flag we need to set in EBS for that account? I want to set the preferred address at user level, not account level.
Thanks

I have a plug-in for Address Book called "Set Primary Addresses".
Set Primary Addresses lets you change the "primary" street/postal address, phone number or email address for your Address Book entries.
It can be found @
http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/20924
I have used it and it works just great.
Download it and follow the instructions in the "Read Me" to install the plug-in
Good Luck !

  • When is preferred e-mail address written back to the directory?

    GW 2014
In the Admin Console, or via the REST API, it is possible to set a
preferred e-mail ID and preferred e-mail internet domain for a given
object. Why would this be necessary? Because GW is really neat and lets
you easily handle users from multiple internet domains (novell.com,
suse.com, netiq.com, etc.) at the same time, in the same system. Further,
it lets users of all systems get e-mails from all domains if wanted, which
really worked well when Novell was acquiring companies, and then when they
were acquired; if a user changed from novell.com to suse.com, their old
e-mail (targeted for the old address) still reached them. Smart smart smart.
If I set somebody to have a preferred address, specifically via REST
(because that is how the IDM driver for GW 2014 does it), their directory
address (in eDirectory) is not updated, though obviously a preferred
domain should be the one advertised in a directory (or so seems obvious to
me). If I use the REST API to tell GW to "commit" this change, then it
goes ahead and updates the directory; thanks Morris for fixing this in the
    thread before this one: https://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=482628
My question (finally): Does GW automatically do a commit after some period
of time? Can it? I'm asking because I do not want to need to do this
manually, though I could with the IDM driver when pushing a value over to
GW; it would be nicer if GW would do the work for me and push back its
correct value (it is authoritative or e-mail addresses after all) back to
eDirectory as if I had asked it to commit. Perhaps I am just not patient
enough and eventually it will do so, but if so how is that configured?
    Thanks.

Short answer is no. There is no scheduled address publishing to the directory, It's only done when there is a trigger activated by changing something in either the Internet Addressing options, or if you go to the directory definition in the admin console.
You could create a cron job and do a publish for the system. you could put this curl command in a script for the cron job to run:
    curl -k --user gwadmin:pwd -X POST -H "Content-type:application/json" --data "{\"commit\":true}" https://10.10.10.10:9710/gwadmin-ser...ectory/publish

  • Is there a way to change the addresses used in an existing iMessage thread?

This is kind of a multi-part question. Let me describe my scenario.
I have many iMessage threads with other iPhone users where the "reply" addresses for one or both ends are the phone *numbers* instead of AppleID email addresses. (This could be due to a number of factors... either they had their "Start new conversations from" address set to their phone number, and/or they started a new conversation with me sending it to my phone number. How it *got* that way doesn't really matter). I want to be able to change the addresses of the conversation to AppleID's (so that I'll still get messages when I change SIM cards, among other reasons).
With iOS 8's new ability to add/remove people from conversations, I thought I would be able to add the AppleID address and remove the phone number address, but there are two problems with that: 1) iOS 8 seems to only allow this for conversations which began as multi-person conversations, and 2) it doesn't seem to want to let you add addresses for people who are already recipients via another address (in other words, if Alice is already on the conversation via her phone number, I can't add her AppleID to the conversation). I guess I could remove the person first, and then re-add them with the other address... but I'd feel safer if I could add the next one before removing the first one.
I know I could just tell the other person to delete our thread and start a new one, but I don't want to lose all of our dialogue and pictures (and I don't want to have to manually save it).
    So, the questions:
Is there a way to change the address my counterparty is sending to when they make further replies to our conversation?
Is there a way to change the address I send to when I make further replies to the conversation?
Is there a way to change the default address to use when trying to send someone an iMessage? (What I'm after here is a way to craft my "contact" entry in people's phones so that, when they try to send a message to me and start typing my name, my preferred address comes up on top).
As it looks like the only way to do this might be to use iOS 8's method of adding/removing recipients, is there a way of converting a two-person conversation into a multi-person one?

I think I may have solved it, actually.  I find that if I switch the timecode to NDF in the source viewer, it seems to work.  I have tried it on three clips and they have sync'd without problems.  Hopefully this will continue to be the case.

  • Using the Photo/send a link/ function does not link to my address book

Having upgraded to FF4 using the Photo/your albums/send a link/ the 'To' data input line does not interact with my Hotmail Address Book.

This usually means that the address book data file is corrupt.
I'd suggest you export your misbehaving address book to an LDIF file, delete the original address book then re-import its data from the LDIF file.
Note that you won't be allowed to delete either ''Personal Address Book'' (PAB) nor ''Collected Addresses'' (CA) within Thunderbird. You'll have to close Thunderbird, open its profile and delete:
    ''abook.mab'' for PAB, or
    ''history.mab'' for CA.
When you next run Thunderbird, it'll create a new empty address book to replace the one you deleted. Import your address to a new temporary address book, then move the Contacts (drag-and-drop) into the preferred address book.

  • How can I import address book from thunderbird on another computer

I just purchased a new laptop and have dowloaded Thunderbird for my e-mail as that was what I was using on desktop. I have 2 e-mail accounts, my personal e-mail addresses came thru with no difficulty however my other account the contacts in address book didn't come thru. So question is how can I get address book imported for this account too. My desktop is Windows XP and my laptop is Windows 8
    thanks for any help

The neat thing to do would be to copy the profile from the XP machine to the W8 machine. This would have transferred your messages, your account settings and your Address Book and much else.
Given that you have set up Thunderbird and have started using it, copying over the profile may not now be terribly attractive for you.
So, instead, you can export and import your Address Books.
On the XP computer, open the Address Book, select an address book (e.g. Personal Address Book), select '''Tools|Export''', select the name and location of a file to contain the exported data, choose LDIF and then Save. Repeat for each required address book. Give your LDIF files simple but meaningful names, such as PAB.ldif and CA.ldif. Don't use, for instance, ''Personal Address Book.ldif'', as this will create a second address book with the same name as one of the defaults and you won't be able to easily tell which is which.
Put the exported LDIF files where the W8 computer can see them, e.g. a USB memory stick.
On the W8 machine, open the address book, Tools|Import and select an exported LDIF file. It will import and create a new address book; you'll probably want to move the Contact data back to the usual address book. You can select all (ctrl+a) then drag-and-drop the imported Contacts to the preferred address book. Repeat for each LDIF file.
Having said that, I don't understand what you mean by "my personal e-mail addresses came thru with no difficulty however my other account the contacts in address book didn't come thru"; unless you have moved the profile folder over, I don't understand why ''any'' contacts should have transferred.
If you have in fact moved the profile folder, then I'm puzzled as to why the transfer of address books has been incomplete. However the export and import route should be able to reclaim the missing address book(s).

  • Prioritizing Addresses

This has got to be simple, but I can't figure it out.
Many of the people in my Address Book have multiple email addresses. If I want to write to one of them I simply choose which address I want to send to from a pulldown menu. But if that person is included in a Group, Address Book chooses on its own which address to send to.
So how do I choose a preferred address for a given person? You know, the address the email will go to if I don't tell Mail otherwise?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
Isn't it always using the first one, or the last one?

  • Import Outlook 2010 contact into Mac OS X Address Book

    *Help needed!*
In our company, we run PCs with Windows XP and MS Office 2010. For private usage I have a MacBook with Snow Leopard.
Since quite I while, I am trying to export the contacts from my Outlook 2010 address book into the preferred Address Book on my Mac. However, It does not work anymore.
I had found a simple way which worked well as long as my company was using the old MS Office. I simply sent the contacts from Outlook to Mac as attached files via email and could easily drag and drop them onto the desktop and further into the Address Book. Now coming from Office 2010, the addresses cannot be imported anymore.
The Finder on my Mac recognizes the files on the desktop but I can neither import nor drag-and-drop them into my Address Book.
Happy for any hint you give me!

Figured out what was happening here. It seems that even though a new contact is synced immediately (from MobileMe to the iPhone), categorization data is NOT -- it seems to take hours until this data gets updated.

  • GW is automatically adding an extra email address in contact

Has anyone found a solution to the following:
Our district offices have an alias as well as their GroupWise address. Go into a personal address book and create a contact with the alias email address rather than the GroupWise email address and then save the contact. You will find that the GroupWise address has been automatically entered and ticked as the preferred email address.
We would like to keep the alias as the preferred address.

Working as designed. And you *really* don't want to use aliases. They
are deprecated for may years, and also absolutely unnecessary.

  • Help! GW altering CC'd external User email address.

I have external Internet users created per TID 10099059. All that
works well (we see them in our system book and can email them fine)
until some one emails an internal user and has one (or more) of the
users in the external domain CC'd. When the user replies-to-all, the
external user's name now contains the GW domain and PO in it which, of
course is invalid and gets bounced.
    Example:
    Object ID tomw
    external GW domain name= ANZ
    external GW po name= NZ
    last name= willow
    Given Name= tom
    internet domain= domain.co.nz
    email address= [email protected]
When anyone is sent an email with [email protected] cc'd and
then selects reply to all, his email address is "changed" by GW to
[email protected] Of course this is promply returned because
domain.co.nz has no record of [email protected]

  • Using a personal email address with Yahoo Mail

I have a premium Yahoo Mail account which allows me to receive mail from an external account (one with an address that does not end in yahoo.com) and send mail as that account as well (so my recipients never see a yahoo.com email address or otherwise know I use yahoo mail).
When I set up the account on my iPhone, I can browse and read my mail fine, but I can't figure out how to send mail using my preferred address. All my outgoing mail from the iPhone has the yahoo.com address. I can't find a place to put my preferred address - if I put it into the address field, then the Mail client can no longer sign in to Yahoo Mail because this is also my account name with Yahoo.
What I need is a place to indicate an email address for new messages which is different than the account name, but I can't find it.
Is this possible to do? How should I set it up?
    Thanks,
    Frank

    It is not possible.

  • Unable to send emails from any Apple devices

Since BT made the changes to Yahoo mail i have had problems with sending emails from my ipad and iphone (IOS8). The only way that i can successfully send an email is to log onto my laptop and send from a windows platform. I have checked all of the settings which are correct and im stumped. I am continuing to receive mail so why cant i send mail? I have contacted the BT customer support to be told that they are not trained on ios platforms so they cant help! pretty gobsmacked with that reposnse tbh, anyone have any ideas?

You may want to delete the email account and try setting it up again. Once you have deleted it, re-start your phone.
Set it up manually and do not use the wizard.
It is best to go through settings >mail contacts, calendars > add account… > don’t choose the BT or BTYahoo option, tap the ‘other’ option from the bottom of the list > Add Mail Account and enter the following details:
Name – it can be anything you want, but usually your real name is preferable
Address – your full BT Internet email address
Password – your email account password
Description – this can be used if you have more than one email account on the device but put something like ‘work’ or  ‘BT Internet
Press “Next” and allow the verification (this may take a few minutes)
On the next screen it will want you to input incoming and outgoing mail server details:
    Tap ‘IMAP’ at the top,
    Incoming mail server settings:
    Host name: mail.btinternet.com
Username: your full  BT Internet email address
    Password: your email account password
    Outgoing mail server settings:
    Host name: mail.btinternet.com
Username: your full BT Internet email address
    Password: your email account password
    Press ‘next’
Slide the notes and mail to be ‘on’ and press ‘save’ in the top-right
Check your email on the device and see if it is working. Try sending yourself a message and see if it arrives. If messages are not able to send do the following:
    Additional setting changes
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > tap your BT email account > a window will appear, tap on your email address > scroll down to the bottom of the window and tap where it says ‘SMTP’ > tap the primary server (which should be mail.btinternet.com) >make sure the following is on or enabled:
    ‘Use SSL’ should be ‘ON’
    Authentication should be ‘password’
    Server port should be ‘465’
    Press ‘done’ in the top-right
