What is EDM?
EDM is a special module part of SAP Utilities Industry Solution to manage the energy data of a utility company such as load shapes and standard load profiles. Based on this data we can make Real Time Pricing and Settlement.
What is EDM Repository?
EMD has a Repository where all types of energy and energy-related data can be managed especially measurements in euidistant time interval ( 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day).
What is Real Time Pricing?
Real time pricing is special type of billing based on load shapes. Basically we can bill each time interval (15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hour, etc) with a different price, for example the spot price. This type of billing is used for really big customers which have huge energy consumption.
What is Settlement?.
Settlement in EDM means settlement of energy quantities. All input data required for settlement comes from EDM Repository. For example we can calculate the total load of a grid and send it to a market partner.
EDM module is implemented by all big utility companies to help them achive better energy data management, to forecast the consumption and to settle the energy quantities supplied trought a utility network.

    Hi all,
    While importing profile values from MS-Excel file (in transaction "Change profile header") the system is giving error "Error Importing Date, Check import file". I would like to know if any specific date format, different than exported file, is to be used. How do we import the profile values for test purposes i.e. without using BAPI/IDoc?

    If the format in SAP is dd.mm.yyyy, you should also be having format dd.mm.yyyy in your OS. If your OS is Windows, then under Control Panel, you have to make the necessary changes under u201CChange the format of numbers, dates and timesu201D.  This is likely to solve your problem.

    Go to transaction SMOD (system enhancements), and search for 'EEDM*' components. You will find the list below:

  • De-allocating EDM Profile of an Interval Meter attached to an installation

    My dear friends, I need sincere help from you .
    This is an ISU requirement on which ABAP/functional  suggestions are required.
    I have an installation with an interval device installed to it.
    We need to do full removal of this installed device by eg32.
    The interval meter is having EDM Profile attached to it. Before doing full removal of the device from the installation using EG32,
    we need to de-allocate the EDM Profile attached to this interval meter. Manually this is done by using transaction code - EEDM04
    but we need to do deallocation of profile using ABAP code.
    We need your help in this regard. Could you suggest ISU function modules that could be used to do the deallocation of the EDM profile from the interval Device/Meter.

    I think function module ISU_S_PROFASS_CHANGE might be useful.
    Isnt't it an option to prorate the profile allocation on device removal?
    You can set system parameter PRORATEPRO for this in customizing of device management:
    PRORATEPRO (Limit Prof. Alloc. for Rem./Repl./Mod./Chnge to Logical
    Reg.)
    During device installation/replacement/removal or when changing the
    logical register number, you can use this parameter to control
    whether the allocations of the profile to the register are limited.

    Hi Experts,
    I am studying ISU .So far what I get to know is that there are several areas of SAP  IS-Utilities :
    ISU-CCS (Customer Care Solution)
    EDM (Energy Data Management)
    Work Management
    WA(SAP Waste and Recycling)
    IDE (Intercompany Data Exchange)
    My query is that do guys have to learn all of them or
    just try to have expertise in any one of the areas mentioned above.If later one  is the case then among all the streams which one will be good to learn ,I mean which one is more demanding.
    Please suggest me .

    The major areas that you will be dealing with in ISU are
    Device Management that includes Meter Reading
    Energy Data Management
    Billing and Invoicing
    FICA
    Customer Interaction Center etc
    Then on top of it, you can have CRM integration as well as UCES (Utilities Customer E-Services) and the latest and greatest xAM (Asset Management xApp).
    Now what you want to focus on depends on what your background is. If you are technical, then you can focus on the ABAP side, Web IC side (CRM), Print Workbench, Java side (for UCES development). If you have a business background, you can get into functional configurations aspects of any of the topics above. "Which one?" again depends on your exact background, interest and expertise. There is demand for almost any part ISU. But it is better you evaluate your strengths and match it with an specific focus area and learn.

  • Isue of Free Goods

    Dear All
    I have created a Scenario of Free gods [Exclusiove]for all Customer in 1:1 ratio .Its running fine but there is one requirement that if 10 product of fre goods are avaqilable ion Stock but 6 product of main item are only available.the system will only make one check and allwing to create a order of 10:10 but delivery is hapening in 6:10 but ideally It should happen 10:10.
    Plz suggest me in thaT issue.
    My concern is that is there any way out so that system willl allow to create sales orde ronly  if order quantity=Confirmed quantioty in scedule line

    I have reached to one conclusion so far that if we insert one more option in Delivery control in condition record of Free Goods in VBN1 as delivery only takes place if main item=sub items,then our purpus will be resolved.

    I am trying to import a converted file with 234 records of DISC_DOC objects with SAP ISU EMIGALL app. I am getting this error:

    In Initialization- Define -> sender system is Empty, but in receiver system it has the company name.where to set the sender machine.

  • Contract account not found and replicated to ISU

    Hi Experts,
    Our users created s3 contract account in the Production system. But upon searching for 2 of them
    they are not able to find these two contract accounts in CRM as well on ISU side.I have also checked the queues and Bdocs if any one of them got failed but I am not able to find those as well.
    Can any one guide what can be done to find them and replicate the same to ISU.

    Hi Haresh,
    Check with middleware settings there must be something left out like in T.Code SMOEAC (Check Publication and Subscription) Business Agreement should be there..
    Check T.Code: CRM_BUT_CALL_FUN
    Depending on the business agreement class, the contract account templates are stored in SAP ERP
    in table TFK_BUAG_REF.
    You can find this table in Customizing for
    Financial Accounting under Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable->  Integration->Customer Relationship Management-> Business Agreement ->Determine Template for Contract Account for Replication
    Use FI-CA event 1023 to determine whether the busines agreement should be selected as a standard business agreement when it is downloaded. You can check the contract accounts of the business partner and decide whether you want to select the checkbox.
    Also check FI-CA event 1022 (see tables TFKFBM,TFKFBS, and TFKFBC in SAP ERP).

  • FM from SAP R3 or class to get open a specific document in EDMS

    Hi Experts.
    I have a Z program, in this program the user can consult and make a lot of things with documents..., create, modify...etc... using BAPI_DOCUMENT functions...
    I want to go further away, and I would like to make open the document in EDMS directly when the user click on the ALV GRID, and get to insert file in this document.
    That it's possible?? There is any Function Module or any class that I can use to open directly the EDMS in this folder or document??...
    I would like EDMS, because it's more quickly the upload files that R3..., I know that I could open the transaction CV02N and insert file with this transaction but I want to try that...

    In trying to get over the problem I copied from Safari, opened Pages and a new blank document, created a Text Box, and pasted the clipboard in to it.
    The net result was that in copying that Text Box, then partially opening Preview, I could then create the document in it. So again, I have to say that I may as well just copied the lot to Pages and printed that rather than go through the Preview hoop.
    I have to say, I do think the lacking of a "Print Selection" sequence is a bit of a Bloomer from Apple, but I suspect there are an awful lot of people who have informed them of the short-comings!
    As you may have guessed, I am relatively new to iMAC and its' little foibles!!
