We are planning for a ISU upgrade from 4.64 to IS-U 2005, for this do we need to upgrade the base R3 system also?

You need to upgrade the Base R3 system to ECC 600 as The Industry Extension Utilities corresponds to the earlier Add-on IS-U/CCS and belongs to the software component IS-UT as of ECC 6.0.
Industry Extension in the standard system (can be activated using the Switch Framework): As of Release mySAP ERP 2005, the SAP Utilities software is not delivered separately from the standard system, but instead forms part of the mySAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) with the name SAP ECC Industry Extension Utilities. This means that the Utilities software exists in the system as soon as SAP ECC is installed. In order to use Utilities, it must first be activated with a switch. The technical basis for this connection is formed by the switch framework.

ISU upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 (CIC)

Hello there
We are currently going for an upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0
Can anyone of you provide some insight on whether the frontoffice and other configuration in 4.6C have any kind of impact on ECC 6.0? Basically I can see that there are new functionalities in ECC6.0 for CIC . But will the current config lin 4.6C like action box , move in/out processes, owner allocation etc will be impacted after the upgrade?

We are also planning to upgrade this month from 4.6C to ECC 6.0. It would be very nicce if we can share the information and the experineces.
We will do the upgrade in a pilot system.
We will have a new hardware with windows server 2003 64 bit and oracle oracle 10.2.0.2.0. than we will install oracle and SAP 4.6C and after that we want to export the Database from the production system to the pilot system. after that we upgrade the pilot system to ECC 6.0 to test first.
I do not know if there is an easyer way to do the upgrade or at least the test. Maybe a homogenouse system copy...?

Start time error in EC50E (Move-in creation)

Dear all,
We are working on ISU Upgrade project, earlier ISU version was 4.6c and now we are moving to ECC 6.
Now while integration testing in ECC 6, we are facing a error (message) while creating a move-in (EC50E)for a given BP on Premise level. This occurs only when BP has Communication details populated (like phone, email etc).
Message "For start times, the time 00:00:00 has to be transmitted, not 00:00:0
Message no. AM615" appears with green tick when value for all the required fields are already provided and we try to save to complete move-in. it doesn't allows to do any further proccessing also. Also on Addresses Tab of EC50E if you press enter the same message is display blocking all further process.
message is of class AM and message no is 615
if communication details are not present at BP level move-in gets saved and created correctly. Earlier version has no such issue when same testing data set is used.

Upgrade question on an iPhone 4

I presently have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3.5 (8L1).
I am running iTunes version 11.0.0.163.
I have downloaded iPhone3,1_5.1.1_9B208_Restore.ipsw
...from
If I use the "Shift-Restore iPhone..." method of "upgrading" my phone, will I lose things like apps and music?
Will I be able to actually restore things to the way there are now?
I am obviously a bit nervous that this "restore" may screw things up beyond recognition.
I do not have any desire to upgrade to iOS 6 as is suggested by iTunes every time I sync my phone.
Thanks for any advice, especially from those who have actually done what I am contemplating.

if you restore your phone, you will be required to update autmatically. 6.0.1 is really not bad, some people have isues but it does not mean everyone is having those issues.

Are there any technical Differences between stanard R3 and ISU

Hello everyone,
I have recently been speaking to a client who is running ISU. They are asking for assistance with thier landscape from a technical perspective (BASIS and DB). i.e. monitoring db growth, reorgs, etc.
Now, I have been working in BASIS for over 10 years now, and am very comfortable with the above rols. My question however is - are there any "technical" differences between the standard SAP system, and ISU? or are the differences mainly seen on the functional side?

Hi Richard,
I have been a Basis administrator for IS-U/CCS systems for 7 years. The points Juris made are correct.
There are no new transactions or procedures for maintaining and monitoring an ISU system. ISU "sits" on top of R/3. The main ISU transaction for customer contact CIC0 has an HTML component that needs an ITS server. In a 4.6C system you will need to maintain an external ITS. In ECC 6.0 you will have an integrated ITS. The main difference from a Basis perspective is support pack application.
In 4.6C ISU is an add-in installed in SAINT. There are conflict resolution support packages (CRT's) that are installed at the same time the SAP_APPL support packages are applied. In fact SPAM recognizes the ISU add-in and won't let you upgrade APPL (and sometimes Basis) support packs without the CRT's.
In ECC 6.0 IS-U isn't an add-in any more and has it's own support packs in module IS-UT. IS-U must be turned on though during an installation or upgrade. This is done in SPRO with "Activate Business Funcitons".

Deep Sleep issue after SSD upgrade

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro mid-2012 13" Intel Core i5 laptop to a SSD. I purchased a OWC Mercury Electra 6G model for this machine. Everything seems to run fine except when I leave my notebook with the lid closed to induce sleep mode and its been running off of battery power for well over an hour. Open terminal.app, enter the following bolded command. What value is returned? 3 should be the default for your machine:
pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
hibernatemode = 0 (binary 0000) by default on supported desktops. The system will not back memory up to persistent storage. The system must wake from the contents of memory: the system will lose context on power loss. This is, historically, plain old sleep.
hibernatemode = 3 (binary 0011) by default on supported portables. The system will store a copy of memory to persistent storage (the disk), and will power memory during sleep. The system will wake from memory, unless a power loss forces it to restore from disk image.
hibernatemode = 25 (binary 0001 1001) is only settable via pmset. The system will store a copy of memory to persistent storage (the disk), and will remove power to memory. The system will restore from disk image. If you want "hibernation" - slower sleeps, slower wakes, and better battery life, you should use this setting.

With 3.5 Front end
- 2 Structures in a query generates dump
- Variants are missing. Ran a program RSR_VARIANT_XPRA, it dumped.
- Report to Report Interface has shown error message. 0Employee_zch_hrdt can not be uniquely assigner.
- Change of currency translation settings during runtime gives error
I understand when variants are missing you have ran a program and hence that problem got fixed. Can you tell me where to run this program?
Same way can you tell me how to resolve other issues?

You should know about:
CIC0 :: customer interaction center
Move-in / Move-out
Action box settings
Config for CiC0:
Step 1:
Create Framework Id( assign hidden & visible components)
Step 2: Create CIC profile
Step 3: create Org unit and assign person
Step 4: Assign CIC profile to Org. unit (or) person
Path : Easy access screen
Logistics>Customer service>Customer Interaction center>Adminstration>CIC structure>Org.Structure(Change,T.code-PPOMW)>select Org. unit
In this screen on the top i.e menu bar find Go To
Go To>detail Object>Enchanced object description
Now u r in Maintain object page(T code-PP01)
Now in the Active tab page select CIC profile
Now in menu bar Edit>create infotype
Again u r in new page(T code-PP01)
Enter the CIC profile Id which u have created in customizing
Run T code- CIC0

Reinstalled 1.0 after publishing nightmare- worth upgrading to 1.1.1?

I had endless problems getting my site published, and could not get anything uploaded despite following lots of the advice on these boards. I was having to use a work around and using homepage.mac.com (cheers for your help with that James!), which was great for getting online but a nightmare when I wanted to update anything.
Anyway, in the end I deleted iWeb and reinstalled it from the start up disk. After reading that there weren't the publishing problems with version 1.0, I decided to upload our site from there. So now I have a site at web.mac.com, and it's really easy to update now.
My question to others that have had publishing issues is- is it now worth installing the upgrade to 1.1.1? 1.0 seems to be working well, and I miss out on a couple of features I guess but I can't have them if my website won't upload anyway! Or now that I have my site up and running will it be easier to upload now? I want to set up another site too soon, if I upgrade should I set up the basis of the site now so that I will only be doing updates and not uploading a whole new site?
Has anyone else found that uninstalling then reinstalling AND upgrading to 1.1.1 has helped their publishing issues?

Classification View in BP is not replicating to from ISU to CRM

Hi All,
I am very new to SAP CRM Middleware. We are upgrading to CRM 7 in out project.
When we run a request load to replicate BP (Busines Partner) from IS-U to CRM, It successfully replicates all the data from ISU to CRM.
But only the Classification Data is not getting replicated to CRM. Please see screen shot sbelow:

Attribute 4 is not copied. Can anybody suggest me any solution to this problem?

How do I upgrade a trial Premiere Pro installation to an ETLA licensed installation?

We have an ETLA license for Creative Cloud at ISU. We have a faculty member who has installed the trial version of Premiere Pro and would now like to upgrade to our licensed version. Two questions:
1. What's the procedure for upgrading? I have built silent installation packages for all of the Creative Cloud applications. Can I simply install Premiere Pro on his machine with my package and it will accept our ETLA license?
2. Will doing this alter his customizations, or will it revert to the factory default settings?

I encountered this same question with a faculty member who is off campus.
I tried the steps documented here:
Creative Cloud Help | Create license file
Building the package and running the AdobeSerialization file, which prompted for a password, did the trick. I did have to quit out of the Creative Cloud application for it to change the app from showing as a trial with a # of days remaining, to indicating it was licensed normally, but any other apps they accessed were licensed correctly.
I know this is a months old question, but hopefully it helps someone out in the future.

Impact of ISU activation

Dear Experts,
We have existing ECC landscape with certain functional modules already implemented and upgrade plan is in progress for this landscape. The issue is that the decision whether to have single instance for ECC+ISU or separate instance for ECC and ISU is still not taken. Even though Basis team wants to actiavte ISU on upgraded ECC system as it is hampering their upgrade plan. Now the concern is if later on the decision would be to go with separate instance for ISU and ECC what would be the impact of ISU activation on both the systesm ECC and ISU system.
Can anybody please advice the impact of IS-U activation. Thanks for your response.

No conflicts/impact in your case.You may activate the functionality.However,please bear in mind that the changes will be logged/tracked only for the new DIR's that you create post activation.For all the existing DIR's,the path 'Environment > Display changes' will be displayed minus the changes/log.

Ehp5 components for ISU + FI/CA

Hi experts,
I'm a basis consultant currently installing a sandbox for an ISU project (ECC6 Ehp5).
I was expecting to upgrade only ISU and FI/CA to Ehp 5 but consultants are requesting that I also apply Ehp5 to HR and EA-HR.
Is anyone aware of a dependency between FI/CA and HR ?
Should I upgrade HR to 6.04 and EA-HR to 6.05 in order to be able to use FI/CA and ISU ?

Dependency of HR to FICA is with respect to Roles and authorizations .
If you are using the cash desk facility then there are settings available for roles and authorization for cashiers .
If you activate that setting that is use roles for cash desk then HR integration would come in to picture , as the authorization object used would be PLOG . This is one of the dependencies i am aware of .
Else raise an OSS for resolution of your issue .
