Isync and the nokia 3109 classic

Greetings,
I would very much like to synchronise my nokia 3109 classis with
ical
adress book
itunes
unfortunately is does not seem to be supported by iSync.
does anybody know a work around, or, when support is to be expected?
I would be very happy with your input.
Wilfrido

Hi,
you can either buy a very functional plug-in from nova media (http://www.novamedia.de/epages/e_produkte_mac_isyncplugins.html) or you can download for free a fully functional iSync plugin from http://www.james-lloyd.com/scripts/nokia-series-40-isync-plugin/.
I also have a 3109 and both solutions work flawlessly.
Cheers,
Lajos

  • ISync and the Nokia 6500s

Father Christmas has just given me a shiny new Nokia 6500s, trouble is it isn't compatible with iSync. I have tried a couple of of the previous suggestions in the forums, this one http://www.novamedia.de/epages/e_produkte_mac_isyncplugins.html does not support the 6500s as it states. Any advice gratefully received, otherwise I will have to spend the next two weeks uploading my 500 contacts.

    Hi,
i own a 6500 slide too and so i am interested in a free isync-6500s-solution too.
There are plugins available. Go to http://www.mactomster.de/isync/
and you can buy them for round about 10€.
On http://www.disappearhere.com/?p=163 you will find a free isync plugin. The author says, that it isnt working anymore (due to updates of OSX or whatever). Please tell me, if you get it working.
Good luck an happy new year, gum911.

That's how Nokias are.....I agree, it's bizarre. I suppose they think you might want to send the same message to somebody else! But often I forget whether I've sent it at all.

  • The Nokia 6120 Classic Modem

I would like to know what's wrong with this phone's modem please? I have my data SIM inside it and use the USB cable (both Windows and Mac) with the latest PC Suite (and nothing installed for Mac, works out of the box) to connect to the Internet using 3G/3.5G. Everything works well, until I start downloading something. It gives me full speed (which can usually go up to around 150KB/s) and then at a certain point (usually around 20% of the file) the connection drops. It does not disconnect, it just stops sending/receiving any data. I have to manually disconnect and reconnect, resume the file, for it to work again. Only it does this all the time, not only once! Which means as long as I'm not downloading something, it doesn't ever drop. The moment I download something, or access the Internet at the highest possible speed, I have to manually disconnect and reconnect every few minutes.

I am also having problems even establishing a connectin between my Mac OS X and my Nokia 6150 classic and using it as a modem (which is, like many others in this discussion group, one of the main reasons I purchased the phone).  I ascribed this problem to the fact that I can't seem to find a Mac-compatible driver for thhis phone online but perhaps someone can kindly point me to this driver? And any updated tips on how to connect and use the phhone as a modem? Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Is the Nokia 6500 classic and/or slide compatible with iSync?

Hi the subject heading says it all.
The Nokia website says it isn't but the iSync discussion seems to indicate there is a way to sync my powerbook with a 6500.
    Powerbook G4
    OS 10.4.11
    iSync 2.4
    Thanks in advance

Try typing 'nokia 6500 isync' into Google for a variety of options - many from this very discussion forum.

  • Memory/software issues with the Nokia 6120 classic...

Hi. I have a Nokia 6120 classic phone which I bought recently (not covered by warranty) and I'm having problems with the phone on my memory or software part (i don't know which one is exactly). I'm having issues like this for example when I'm to run Opera Mobile 10 on my phone after 2 or 3 sessions of browsing it starts telling me that it does not have enough memory and to close any other applications when non of them are really running at all (not even anti-virus). If I try to open it when for example an application like radio or music player is running it won't even bother to give me the loading logo or something, giving me the same memory error like it does in the previous described issue.
Another issue of this phone is when I open high quality 3gp videos in real player and I switch it to full-screen the video will freeze every 3-4 seconds, thing that doesn't happen when it's out of full screen.
Can somebody help me fix these issues? Thank you and good luck.

  • PIN and PUK Nokia 6500 Classic

Just today I bought Nokia 6500 Classic mobile. I have charged the batery for about 2-3 h. It was doing very well, but the problem now is: on the screen I see "PIN blocked. Inter PUK code".
    Is there anybody caould advise?
    Thank you an advance

call ur network/service provider for this puk, it may be contained within the documentation you received with your sim card, but if you cannot find it just call them, if u enter the puk incorrect 10times you sim card will be useless and not even god will be able to unblock it.

  • ISync and the never ending dashboard widget loop

Ok, I'm only trying to iSync two macs... I have all the same widgets on both...
I will delete a widget from Mac number one, I get an iSync notification on Mac number two, that one widget is to be removed...
    Great huh?
Now back to the first mac. I get a notification that iSync wants to add a widget (surprise it is the same widget I deleted)...
On to mac 2... Now I get a notification that iSync wants to add a widget (surprise again it is the same widget)...
So if I have iSync enabled I cannot delete a widget. They just keep coming back...
I've already had to give iSync a database enema to make the contacts and calendar sync again (they had just stopped one day for some unknown reason). Now I have to figure out how the heck to delete a widget and make it stay deleted.
Anybody had a similar issue? Ideas anyone?

You're unlikely to get an answer in here. Your issue is not related to iSync - it's related to *.Mac Sync*, and the correct forum for that is here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=957
(iSync is for syncing Contacts and Calendars to supported mobile phones and PDAs - it does not sync computers or to .Mac).

  • Tesco Mobile and the Nokia Belle update

    Hey,
Is anyone else waiting for the Tesco Mobile Nokia Belle update for the Nokia N8? Or is it just me?
    Product code: 059C951
I remember them being pretty much last to release Symbian Anna and pr 1.1.
    Nothing changes it seems.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

For those of you waiting for the Tesco update, have you tried visiting an NCC to get a generic version put on? I know with the Anna update I got mine done early coz I couldn't be bothered to wait for Tesco to release their version. As for the overall response to Belle, I've chosen to give it a miss. Unless FP1 really sorts a lot of Belles issues out.

  • ISync and a Nokia 5500 Sport

I have looked and looked and looked, but I can't find anything that will allow me to Sync my 5500 with my mac. A few apps out there claim to do it, but reports from those who have tried are generally poor, and the apps cost!
Has anyone, ever, managed to Sync the two?

    hello Stevebb,
I am not sure if you will get this message, but I am wondering if you have had any luck in synching your Nokia 5500 with your mac. I have not been able to do so yet and I want to ask you about it.
On your post it says that it was answered and therefore I wanted to know what the answer(s) was(were) is possible.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Mercedes SAP V2 Cradle And The Nokia N96

    Dear All,
I appreciate this topic is discussed quite a lot but I've never really had a good answer!
I have attached the above mentioned cradle to my brand new 2008 SLK 280 (COMAND APS) but am failing to get it to work with my phone.
I have a Nokia N96 - I appreciate that this phone isn't listed on the "Compatible With" list, however, it is very similar to the N95 which I hear does work with the system.
I have followed the instructions that came with the cradle but cannot get it to INITIATE PAIRING with my phone.
I have the latest firmware available for the phone.
It almost works - the symptoms are thus: when I press the star button on the cradle for three seconds, it begins to flash rapidly and the COMAND system acknowledges that the cradle is connected. The word BLUETOOTH with a full signal strength appear in the top right of the screen. At this point I hear a single beep which I think is telling me about the two new text messages in the SMS store which have magically appeared. One is From "SEARCH" and one is from "random 16 digit pairing code" and is TO the Bluetooth name of my phone. When I look in the Dialled Calls list (as the instructions bid me) it is empty. This is so frustrating!
Has anyone successfully PAIRED the N96?
Has anyone successfully PAIRED the N95?
Can anyone puhlease help me, or at least offer an explanation as to what's going on. I shall be very upset if the N96 is incompatible! Oh, I'm quite tech savvy and have researched this topic heavaily, so yes, all the Bluetooth settings on my phone are on and correct. My guess is that it's either a) not going to work or b) some odd setting on the phone is messing things up. I tried the suggestion about downgrading the PC Synch server version by the way and it didn't help!
Thanks for any information at all,
    WIndy

Woohoo - I've done it! Although now I feel a little silly!
For anyone who's interested, I went into the SMS message store on COMAND, selected the text message that was from "random 16 digit pairing code" selected it using the "ok" button then, in options, selected "Call Sender" which prompted my phone to accept the Bluetooth call from the cradle. Once I did this, the phone asked for the 16 digit pairing code. I then got the hallowed ascending tone from the cradle and my phone switched to saying "Remote SIM Mode" where the service providers name would be. Excellent!

  • ISync G5 with Nokia 6120 classic

Good afternoon (at least in my country),
I am not a Mac nor a cell phone wizzard and therefor i hope that one of you can help me out. I bought a mobile phone: Nokia 6120. I have a Mac G5 (old version without blue tooth). So far i managed (with the USB cable) to tranfer multimedia to my Nokia.
The problem is the Syncing. I have iSync 2.4 and it seems that this Nokia 6120 is not suported by iSync. I have read in this forum that using other plugins is risky.
*Is there another solution to sync agenda and contacts from my Mac to my Nokia 6120?*
If i understand it well Apple wants me to open a .mac account to enable syncing?
I don't want to pay just for syncing.
Please anyone here who can help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jacqueline

    Hi Jacqueline,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The use of iSync Plugins should not be risky - they are the official method Apple provides third-parties with for adding support for new phones.
As long as the iSync Plugin comes from a reputable developer who offers instructions, help and technical support you'll be fine.
What is risky is modifying files inside the iSync application (from instructions you might even find in this forum), or using iSync Plugins from less reputable sources who give no guarantees and aren't liable for any problems you might have.
One such reputable provider of a third-party iSync Plugin for your phone is novamedia. However, you are likely to need to purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle to sync your phone with. The only one officially supported and recommended by Apple is the D-Link DBT-120.
You don't need a .Mac account for syncing to a mobile phone. .Mac syncing is for syncing between Macs over the internet.

  • Nokia 3109 Classic

Not getting calls in or out!
There is symbol which is, a black letter G (i think) with a diagonal red line, next to the battery symbol.
Think this might be the problem.
Anybody know how to get rid of it.

the G symbol with the line across it indicates GPRS or EGPRS connection is suspended (on hold). but i can't see why that should interfere with making or dialing from the phone .
just to try please visit :
Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packet data > Packet data connection. and change the selection to "when needed" . make sure you don't have any app like the web browser running and try again.

  • Who can solve iSync problem with Nokia N95? (I use the Nokia plug already)

    Hello
Since I bought my new cool Mac:, I sync my N95 with iSync and the Nokia N95 plug-in. Thinking at first that is works flawlessly (as other members here seem to think as well) I later found out, that if I make changes to any calendar or "to do" description! on either the N95 or the Mac it syncs, but only up until a certain number of characters. If I exceed this number, the description on the phone will simply be cut off - in the iCal it still fully appears though.
Rather surprising, since when syncing with a PC via the Nokia PC suite there is no such an issue. All my often lengthy descriptions are fully put on the phone. And if I sync back there are no problems either. So I guess it has to do with the iSync protocol or this Nokia N95 iSync plug-in? Any ideas, solutions...? Any help greatly appreciated!

The flex cable is damaged. Some years back when I had a Nokia N95 8GB the flex cable was damaged and for a few days the screen was showing strange colours at the display and eventually the screen became black. I went to a local repair shop and I replaced the flex cable and what I noticed was that the flex cable that it had no proximity sensor on it so I told the technician to remove the proximity sensor on the original one and replace it with the new flex cable. Another thing I discovered was that after fitting the flex cable and returning the cover the front camera was not in its usual position so the technician had to do some modifications to get it back to its normal position and after a few months it was damaged and this time I went to Nokia Care Centre and replaced the flex cable for a small fee and what I noticed was that the flex cable that I previously bought was a fake cable. The one bought from Nokia Care Centre had its proximity sensor and when the cover was returned the camera was in its exact position the same as it was with the original flex cable. What I wanted to say is that please beware of fake flex cables on the market and I suggest that you buy it from an authorised Nokia Dealer.
