ISync/Bluetooth/SE k700i trouble - no other posts have helped!

Hi,
Buetooth file transfer works fine. My phone (Sony Ericsson K700i) and computer recognise each other fine, and can transfer files.
But...
iSync cannot update the phone. It was working fine, then suddenly stopped. No idea why. I tried resetting up all Bluetooth stuff from scratch. No luck. I have tried everything else I can think of (am an experianced Mac user - but this beats me). Also none of the other fixes I have spotted on these forums seem to help.
When I try and sync i Sync says this:
"Saturday, 13 May 2006 16:08
[RedHavoc_K700i] Connection to the phone failed.
Please make sure that your phone is turned on. If this error occurs again, please restart your phone.
Device "RedHavoc_K700i" synchronization failed"
and the phone says this:
"session failed Communication interrupt"

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but here goes.
I now own an SE750i and it Sync's fine, but I do have a problem I could use some help with. but later.
My previous phone was the SE700i and had lots of BT issues, but was able to use it well provided I 'serviced' it regularly. My problem was similar to the one below, with, I think, the same message. I found the fix on another forum, sorry can't remember where.
The fix:
Delete
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.isync.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
~/Library/Application Support/SyncService
Then I:
1. removed any pairing info on the s700i and the Mac.
2. initiated pairing from S700i - not the Mac.
3. Once paired, started iSync.
4. Options to sync address book, calendar etc appear (should have 3 options)
Sometimes a restart was necessary prior to step 3.

Port forwarding for Warcraft 3 - no other posts have helped me solve this :

Hi everyone,
At risk of flogging a dead horse, I am having trouble with port forwarding/port mapping on my new AEBS and need help.
Warcraft 3 requires ports 6112-6119 open, which I had successfully set up through the Router Management Interface of my router (Speedstream 536 v6). Since I've set up the airport and run the router through it, I've been unable to host/join games on Warcraft, due to ports not being open.
I've since gone back in to the router setup and attempted to configure it. I've tried sending the open port traffic to the base station, to the computer, and a combination of each, but nothing seems to fix it.
Aside from port forwarding, it is working fine. My internet connection is flawless (a little slower than before airport ... or perhaps my imagination?), my Wii and XBOX360 both find the network fine (360 hard wired over ethernet due to wireless security issues ... see other threads!), but I can't play my warcraft games.
The help system (and some of the other threads on here) direct me to the Airport Utility -> Advanced -> Port Mapping. The problem is that on my advanced pane I only see:
- Logging and SNMP
- Bonjour
- IPv6
I've tried restarting the AEBS but get no joy. Is there something I'm doing that is fundamentally wrong? Can anyone help me? I'm not sharing the connection with any other computers, just wii and xbox, if that makes any difference.
If there's anything else you'd need to know, please ask me.

On the speedtouch setup page, there's a lot of long-winded gibberish which I don't really understand, but perhaps it'll be of some use to someone more knowledgable on the topic. Each device has the following information:

Why does my 4s phone mute itself? I've reset the setting like other posts have suggested.

Why does my 4s phone mute itself? I also have a hard time hanging up after a call. The screen goes blank like it's in a sleep mode. I have to use 2 hands to make it hang up--one to hold the home button and the other to hit the end bar. I've "Reset All Settings" in General Settings like other posts have suggested. This worked for a short period of time but now the phone is back to muting itself. Why does this happen?

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.
If you've been through ALL these steps and you still have problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple.

Mavericks is too slow, I've checked other posts, please help.

I am trying to finish editing a movie in FCPX this weekend for a film festival that has asked for it.
But everything is Pentium 90 slow. I don't care about all the other apps that have hiccups and pause to think when they were quite happy, I'll live with those (I'm sure Apple will eventually fix it, even Microsoft eventually released Windows 8.1).
But I am handcuffed by how debilitatingly slow fcpx has become. Plenty of free disk space, App Nap turned off for fcpx and compressor. These are not rendering delays (all files transcoded).
Please do not give me a lot of homework to do. The only change (says the retired CTO who's heard that from users for 20 years) was Mavericks.
Either somebody has a theory about how to help me or they don't.
If you don't, I can't fault you, I don't know either.
If you do, I would love to hear from you. This documentary is about a man dying from cancer and we'd like him to see it at his home town film festival before he passes (seriously).

Fixed it! It was so easy. All weekend, I just rebooted every three hours or so. Save all work, close everything, reboot my iMac.
Simple fix, reminds me of Windows for Workgroups.
My humble I-don't-have-time-or-energy-to-investigate-it guess is that it may be related to a faulty garbage collection. Why do I say that? See above.

U310 IdeaPad Touch :The Touch Screen Stopped Working. No Previous Posts Have Helped.

Drivers all show working properly. Not intermittent. Tried settings and no help. No response when touching screen at all. Can't calibrate. Bios has no update available. Nothing in manual under troubleshooting. Any quick fix suggestions have likely been tried, but open to all ideas.
If all else fails, and assuming the digitizer is bad, what does repair entail and any rough estimate?
Is there any recall? I see this issue on the forum a lot with not many folks getting it resolved.

Have you tried booting the system in Recovery Mode (One Key Recovery), You're not going to Recover the system since your only going to check the touchscreen in that mode "Outside Windows"
See if the touhcscreen works there,
If Yes, I would suggest doing a factory Reset First Before jumping into a hardware Repair.
If No, Then I think you're correct with the digitizer.

I have had the same problem. Got my iphone yesterday and it won't even find other bluetooth devices, just keeps saying it is searching and the little wheel keeps spinning constantly. I called my network provider for advice and they checked that bluetooth was switched on and that all other bluetooth devices were 'visible' then said there must be a fault with the phone and are sending me a new one. looking on other forums, it would seem this is quite a common problem with the iphone you should be able to pair with other phones even if they are another type of phone, and you should not need an app of any sort to do so! Bluetooth has been around alot longer than smartphones and therefore never needed an app to work on any of my previous phones

Centro wired headsets wont work i have read the other posts on this

I've been reading posts on this topic. will try to find some wd40 or a paperclip when I get out of this airport!
but I dont know if this is my problem. because when my headset is plugged in you hear no sound coming from the
"earpiece" but the minute I unplug the headset you can hear fine with the phone.
if it was the "switch" and wd 40 would work, wouldnt I hear the call thru the phone if the headset was not registering?
it almost seems like it thinks bluetooth is on. I had to stop using bluetooth it kept resetting itself and not connecting.
so it is now t urned OFF. I have bought millions of headsets. I can call palm but have not had time and dont trust them.

As with most problems that occur on a Palm PDA, it is either software or hardware related and we have to determine which one.
Best method is to first make a complete backup of your unit to your SD card using the free "NVBackup" (available from http://www.freewarepalm.com) After the backup is complete, Hard Reset the unit, then test to see if full functionality returns.
How to Hard Reset a Palm Centro.
Go to http://kb.palm.com and enter the number 45050 into the "Solution ID" box.
DO NOT HOTSYNC YET! Test the unit before reinstalling any software. If the unit works correctly, your problem is being caused by a "drug interaction" of software - maybe one rogue program, or a combination of several. You'll have to reinstall the third-party programs one or a few at a time to find the problem one. To avoid re-installing a software issue, rename your /Backup directory in your Palm folder (on a PC it's found here: C/Program Files/Palm(One)/"your HotSync ID name truncated"/Backup) to something like "/BackupOLD". Now perform the HotSync, choose your HotSync name you've been using, and all your PIM data will return, but not the third-party programs. Test for functionality again. If all is good, start installing the old programs from your /BackupOLD directory one (or a few if brave) at a time.
If the unit does not work after a Hard Reset is performed correctly, then it may be Hardware-related. (If it's a connection problem via either BlueTooth or Wifi, be sure nothing has changed on the unit you're trying to connect to!)

BlueTooth connects via HotSynch, not other means PALM TX

I am at my wit's end here. Really. I'm about to toss my Palm, and I'm hoping someone can help me out.
Here's my setup:
1. PALM T|X - less than a month old.
2. Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, running Windows XP Home SP2, 2gb of memory, Centrino technology.
3. USB Bluetooth Adapter 2.0
Here's my problem:
1. I can connect, via Bluetooth, to my laptop in order to HotSynch. I did this by following the on-screen instructions on my Palm device.
2. I cannot connect, via Bluetooth, to my laptop in any other fashion, despite following all of the on-screen instructions. So, when I attempt to go on the Network Service, click on the Connect button,my computer says "Bluetooth Connection Successful. Bluetooth device _ is connected to 'HotSych' service on this computer. Com 11."
The service connection progress never moves beyond that on the Palm device. I always get the following error:
Error: PPP timeout (0x1231)
My connection type is PPP
My idle timeout is 3 minutes, but even if I click "Never" it doesn't connect me.
Query DNS is checked
IP Address is automatic is checked.
Is there PLEASE someone who can help me figure this out? I'd greatly appreciate it.

ISync bluetooth compatability

So i just perchased a New Motorola KRZR K1M
thinking that since other Motorola phones are listed on the iSync Bluetooth page, so why shouldn't this phone work. well it doesn't. does anyone know of a third party app that will allow this to happen?

HDV 1080i 50 to SD DVD - (yes i have read the other posts!)

HI All,
I have read two other posts and still struggle to get a good clean output that does not suffer from some degree of motion shudder or interlacing type lines. I capture 1080i 50 pal in australia and edit native hdv. On some recent shots I have found an annoying motion shudder when i do a slow pan. I have seen this often on hdv. Most of my work goes to the web via h264 which is great, but with dvd if i choose a format that matches upper field, i get combing or similar. I turned to outputting to dvcpro pal with none as the field dominance and it appears to work better( not sure why).
All my work needs to be output in web and dvd so i have tried a cocktail of uncompressed 8 bit, which still showed a combing type issue, and DV pal which seemed soft even on external monitor.
In the bonsai method i could not get a good result at all and wondered which way the sequence settings were set and render options which were not visible in the tute.
Is there another bulletproof way to get the best pic quality without endless torture? I am considering a mxo box as a possibility but am not sure if this will help in encoding sd better than the usual way.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have no idea how to help you beyond capturing as some other hd codec which doesn't help you at all. A couple of days ago, a cam op on a show I worked this week was showing off his brand new little Sony AVCHD camcorder. His biggest complaint was that Windows Movie Maker wouldn't work with this jewel. I had to point out to him that how many years on is it and HDV is still a dismal wreck to work with natively. Live tv cam ops think everything is plug and play as it usually is on their jobs.
Good luck, I can definitely feel your pain. There are some wonks on here that do have good HDV workflows, perhaps they'll drop in later.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Ora-01000 problem not resolve with other posts

I've the ora-01000 problem which has been argued in other posts but it persist on me.
I'm using JDK 1.3 and Oracle 8i with classes12_01.zip file.
I've been looking at v$open_cursor to see how many cursors where open and even if I put
rs.close(); rs=null;
stmt.close(); stmt=null;
it still doesn't work.

Mac is freezing no programs running yet no trouble for other user

My mac keeps freezing yet no trouble for other user. No program's run without 5 mins of coloured wheel rotating. Also time machine not operating properly as computer is not recognising it. Apple support centre not much help as it took them 10 mins just to get my details straight! Anyone with similar problem and successful solution?

Tried Mac HD utility first aid but advised it can't repair disk.
It's possible you have directory damage. You will need to get that repaired asap by using/purchasing a stronger 3rd party utility. The more you use the computer, the worse it will get.
Utilities are best run from the CDs to avoid system interference & false readings/reports. You must use the versions that are compatible w/your OS system & keep the utilities updated to avoid damaging/harming/trashing your system. You need to make your own decision on which to purchase. Read up on them on their websites because each do something a little different.
