  • Firmware for N70

Hello to everybody! Please let me know, how is it possible to find out that new firmware is availble for downloading for N70?
    Nokia N95

    Hi Quagga,
NSU ties available updates to both the mobile and your operator. E.g. N80 with O2 gets firmware A, N80 with Orange gets firmware B, N70 with O2 gets firmware C, etc. You get the idea.
In your case, I suspect your operator and mobile match to 5.0609.2.01 as the latest.
Also, it may be that 5.0638.3.01 may be too new. NCC told me that it typically takes around a month for NSU to be updated after official launch of firmware.
    Cheers. ^_^;

  • ISync for E71

Okay, just picked up the E71 and trying to sync it with my Mac. For this I understand I need to download iSync. Problem is, apparently I need OSX 10.4.6 at least and I'm only running 10.3.9. Is there any way of getting iSync for my E71 and if so, how? If not then is there an easy way of syncing my address book, phone book, iTunes, calendar, etc between my phone and my mac or do I just need to take the phone back and go for an iPhone instead?

    Hi richieg
There is a modified plug-in claimed to work on Leopard here:

You need to click on "Télècharger ce fichier" to download plug-in.

  • HT2484 isync for mountain lion

Where I can find isync for for mountain lion

    Hello,
same story as with iSync under Lion; you need a copy of the iSync.app that came with your copy of Snow Leopard to the Applications folder under ML.
Remember that this is a procedure not officially supported.
As I have a rather old non-Apple cell phone I rely on this workaround in order to have my calendar and contacts synced - and it works fine for me to this day.

  • Re: IM(instant Messaging) for N70

    good day!
    i need help...
does anyone know what to do to enable the function of IM (instant messaging)for N70?
when i try to to open it, it ask me to define a server,
it is asking to fill up the following:
    1. server name:
    2. access point:
    3. web address:
    4. user id:
    5. password:
i do not know what to provide on 1 to 3.
can any one help me about this matter?
    thank you!
    looking forward for your response
    respectfully yours,
    mark palma

The IM application in the N70 connects only to IM services implementing the, so called, Wireless Village IM specification by OMA (Open Mobile Alliance).
The only service I know that supports it is http://www.yamigo.com
However, your network operator could also be running a compatible service, so call them and ask for the settings (or check their web site).
The IM app cannot be used to connect directly to MSN, Yahoo!, AOL or ICQ (as they have their own IM protocols/mechanisms, and are not using Wireless Village IM). If you want to connect to those IM services, you need to find some other IM app to install on your phone (Agile Messenger, IM+, etc.).

  • FL2 Player for N70 - available memory

    Hello
    I have a FL2 application installed on a Nokia N70. When
starting the application I have 20MB of RAM free.
The application is installed on an MMC card.
The application dynamically loads JPEG's from a server (the
compressed images are about 7 or 8 KB).
The FL2 player gives the following memory related errors:
11: Not enough memory to decompress image.
    and
13: Stream loading out of memory
There is plenty of RAM available (20MB). The Nokia N70 also
    has an unlimited heap size.
I am wondering if the FL2 player for N70 has some memory
limit built into it; ie it can only use X amount of available RAM?
Maybe somebody has run into this limit before?
Any ideas would be very welcome.
    Thanks, Ian

FL has a limit of maximum 1 MB of RAM allocated to any movie,
irrespective of the heap available on the device.
    Cheers,
    Lev

  • Does Apple plan to develop isync for nokia phones?

Does Apple plan to develop 'isync' for Nokia phones for Mountain Lion OS?

Apple makes it own phones now. It is Nokia's responsibility to provide software to support its phones.

  • Cannot open iSync for one user

Hello ... After upgrade to 10.5.6 I can no longer open iSync for user A. For all other users iSync still opens and shows that it is the new version from 10.5.6. So the update worked, but iSync doesn't start at all for one user. I suspect that this user uses a device which is no longer supported in 10.5.6. I tried to remove the device from the list of Bluetooth devices and added it again. Didn't work.
I have followed the Apple Hint http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627 for resetting in terminal the SyncServices but it hasn't changed anything.
I reset all data via .me for this user. Didn't work.
Any other idea? I would like to remove this phone from the list of iSync devices but I don't know how because I cannot open iSync.
    Best regards
    Valentin.

Yep. That's what I did and it worked but afterwards I had to clean-up: Repairing permissions and then I reinstalled the Combo for being sure.
In hindsight, I believe it must have been related to a permissions issues - something in the 10.5.6 installation process must have changed the permissions. I did repaired the permissions before the Combo installation but not afterwards so it's difficult to prove it now. But moving the package to my desktop and then back did change the permissions to read&write for my user A.
    Thanks.
    Valentin.

  • Updater for N70 and 6630

Please does n70 and 6630 have FOTA?To update through phone.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hey,
these phones should be most likely updateable on PC using Nokia Suite, though I can't test/verify this at the moment. The question is whether the recent versions of Nokia Suite still has support for these older products - they were supported by Nokia Software Updater in the past.
The latest generally available sales software for N70 is 5.0705.3.0.1 and for 6630 it is 6.03.40.

  • Can anyone confirm 10.4.8 supports iSync for SE P990i?

    Hi everyone.
10.4.8 Update is out. Has anyone or can anyone confirm if this OS version's iSync supports the Sony Ericsson P990i?
    Thanks and cheers

The specific issue that stops the M600, P990 and W950 working with iSync is this:
iSync (over Bluetooth) relies on there being something called "OBEX SyncML Client" and also (the old way) "OBEX IrMC Sync Server" in the phone. Symbian phones do not have this functionality.
Sony Ericssons latest Symbian phones have something called m-router connectivity which is not supported by iSync currently.
For this issue to be resolved in iSync, Apple will first have to add m-router connectivity to iSync. Then third-party manufacturers can add the Phone Plugins to iSync for individual phone models.
There's nothing to stop Sony Ericsson or a clever third-party developer writing a separate application with m-router connectivity built-in. But as iSync is an integral part of the Mac OS, it makes sense to incorporate it into that.
With iSync 2.3 Apple have given handset manufacturers the means to create iSync Phone Plugins for their phones. So, in theory, Sony Ericsson could include a Phone Plugin for iSync in the box with the phone at purchase, and I know that Apple and SE are working towards this.
For Symbian phones, however, Apple first has to add the m-router support to iSync. Who knows how far along, or even if they are working on this?
With Mac OS X 10.4.8 just being released, and 10.5 only a few months away, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a Leopard feature.

  • ISync for Mac - Help please!

I have a Nokia N70 and am trying to update my contacts from my Address Book. I have up-to-date OSX 10.4.10 and iSync 2.4 and the phone is being recognised, so a good start! My problem is that my updated Address Book entries are not being transferred, somehow an old version of my Address Book is being used by iSync.
I've tried restarting the Mac, clearing all contacts from my phone and sync-ing again (repeatedly), but I still get the contacts from the old version of Address Book loaded into the phone.
I'm not a Mac expert, can anyone smarter than me help please?
    Thanks for your time.
    MacAndy
PS Any tips on useful software for making the N70 otherwise more compatible with music and any other areas would be very welcome.

There's an actions folder. It's your hard drive>library>application support>adobe>photoshop elements>8.0>Locale>en_US (this one is different if you aren't in the US)>workflow panels>actions

  • Can I use iSync for more than one user on my .mac family account?

I just got a new MacBook Pro 17" to replace my Pro 15", which I want to give to my hubby who's using an old MacBook. I have successfully synched my old Pro to the cloud and my new Pro, thereby rolling over all my settings, widgets, address book, etc. But now I want to roll-over my husband's settings from the MacBook to the old 15" Pro. I'm afraid if I just perform a sync, MY settings out there in the cloud will overwrite his. What's the proper procedure to follow here? He's got a lot of passwords and really wants his bookmarks saved to the 15" MacBook Pro-- that's the most important info he wants to maintain. Recommendations?

iSync is for syncing mobile phones and PDAs - it has nothing to do with syncing between Macs.
