ISync Palm Conduit with third party conduits?

Although we use the iSync Palm conduit to sync our Address Book data to our Palm devices, we use Meeting Maker as our calendar application. This has been fine under Panther...we would turn off calendar syncing in the iSync conduit and the respective data would synchronize properly. But under Tiger, the Palm conduit installed by iSync checks to see if there are third party conduits installed and if so, insists on disabling them. We can manually move the Meeting Maker conduits back into the Conduits directory, but anytime iSync is opened, it gives an alert that conflicting conduits need to be moved. This is most frustrating, especially considering that the whole process ran perfectly under Panther. Is there any fix or hack that can prevent the problem under iSync in Tiger?

Actually, there is a simple fix. Although this step was not necessary under Mac OS X releases prior to Mac OS X 10.4, you now must uncheck the Calendar option in iSync, quit the program, then toss this iSync preference file:
com.apple.isync.plist
You will find that file here:
Macintosh HD:Users:<username>:Library:Preferences
When you next launch iSync, that preference file will be recreated, but you will now be able to synchronize your contact data with the Address Book using iSync and your calendaring data with Meeting Maker.

First, I apologize for the SPAM-like posting of the material below in the existing threads regarding this issue. It is—unfortunately—the most effective way to garner the attention of earlier posters and gather this information.
Apple continues to investigate the issue, and needs this information to isolate and identify the problem. It is characterized by the apparently successful installation of the bundled iSync Palm Conduit using the Enable Palm OS Syncing… option in iSync 2.4 with either Mac OS X 10.4.9 or 10.4.10, but with the result that this conduit—normally visible in and configurable with the HotSync Manager—cannot be seen and therefore not configured.
In order to help Apple software engineers isolate and identify this issue—if you are affected by this specific issue—can you please provide the precise build number for the operating system on the machine that exhibit this problem?
To do so, select About This Mac from the Apple menu, and—beneath the Mac OS X label—press the Version 10.4.9 or Version 10.4.10 label. That value will change to something like 8P1xxx. Please respond to this message with that build number, the version of Mac OS X 10.4.x you have installed, and the last three digits of your machine serial number.

  • ISync palm conduit in 10.5 - won't work under user imported from 10.4?

My Palm m500 was syncing fine with my PowerBook G4 running Mac OS 10.4
I recently got a spiffy new MacBook Pro (Penryn) with 10.5, and although the Palm does communicate and sync via Palm Desktop, it no longer syncs via iSync with iCal & Address Book. I keep getting the following in the hotsync log:
    < snip >
    OK Install
iSync Conduit starting 3/13/08 10:38:34 PM
iSync Conduit: received NULL message, disconnecting...
    OK iSync Conduit
    </ snip >
    ==========
    Other info:
I imported the user info for my main user from the old 10.4 installation using Migration Assistant.
    • Deleted old Palm HotSync & Desktop files from the username:Library:Application Support, as palm preference files from username:Library:Preferences
    • Copied the old user folder to an alternate location, and removed the Palm folder from username:Documents:
    • Re-installed Palm Desktop 4.2.1 under main user (authorized as an "administrator" temporarily)
    • Sync worked (no data on Palm Desktop, but everything backed up ok), HotSync even recovers and creates a new user based on the data on the device, and even backs up all the programs.
    • Enabled Palm Os Syncing from within iSync (works fine, so long as the account being used has read/write permissions to HD:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync:Conduits)
    • "Enable iSync for this palm device" from the iSync conduit within HotSync Manager.
During a sync, iSync kicks in and "connects", but can't get past AddressBook syncing, and never actually sends info to the Palm device. Presumably, this is where the "NULL message" is received and syncing stops. When I specify "Erase data on device then sync" in iSync (for first syncronization), it does indeed erase address book data on the device, but never sends anything to replace it, but also does not touch the calendar data on the palm device.
Furthermore, I tried the same procedure when logged in as another administrator account (what is normally the main administrator account on this computer), and synced first without iSync, then enabling "iSync for this Palm device". Under this other account, the syncing works. I can add events to iCal, and contacts to address book, and they are transferred sucessfully and synced with the palm device. But it still does not work when logged in as the main user (even when administrator privileges are enabled, which I normally don't want), which actually has all my iCal and Address book data (which syncs successfully through .Mac with my computer at work).
There should be plenty of free space on the device for all my calendar & contact data (3MB).
Given that syncing DOES work for one administrator user (which was never before set-up for this), but not for the user that was imported from 10.4 and was syncing successfully before, I have a suspicion that there's either some leftover files that I missed, or a permissions conflict within the user's home folder that I am missing. Has anyone else been able to resolve this issue, or have any suggestions based on this information?
    Much appreciated.

    Experimentation reveals that:
    • replacing the old addressbook data with blank allows syncing to work without problems.
    • having multiple groups causes the same error: BUT only on the first sync (set to “Erase data on device then sync”, but also if set to “merge”). Adding groups after a successful initial sync did not interfere with further syncs.
    • deleting groups from existing AddressBook data does allow a successful first sync.
    • but adding them back in again breaks the sync.
Having no groups would seem to allow a successful sync.
    see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6805570&#6805570
I don’t want to have to limit myself to this. I do use groups rather a lot and it would be frustrating to have to give up using them just so I can sync my Palm in Leopard.
The following does NOT solve the problem:
    1. Move old Address Book data to a backup location (after exporting AddressBook library)
    2. do a first sync
    3. re-import full Address Book data from archive
    4. continue with regular syncs.
    • only sync one Group still leads to the same error.
    • iSync 2 doesn’t run under Leopard (error message along the lines of “You can’t use this software with this version of Mac OS”).
    • I also tried to use the previous iSync palm conduit (v3.0.2 instead of v3.1.0), but got the same errors.
For now, I removed all the groups and synced my contacts to my Palm, but I then turned off syncing for contacts within iSync, so I could recover all my Address Book Groups. Fortunately, I need to update Calendar information more often than contact info, and I won’t be able to change contact info on the Palm device. When I do want to do a periodic update to my Palm device, I will have to:
    1. Backup my address book
    2. Delete all groups (but not the contacts within them, which stay in the library itself)
    3. Turn contact syncing on in iSync
    4. Sync the Palm device
    5. Turn contact syncing OFF in iSync
    6. Recover my Address Book Library & groups from backup
Not as simple as I would expect from Apple software ... I hope this issue gets fixed in iSync 3 (Leopard).

  • Can't open iSync Palm Conduit

I'm trying to synchronize my new Palm Z22 with iCal and Address book. Michael Lafferty solved my original problem of not getting iSync. I have downloaded iSync Palm Conduit and it appears as a "pkg" and was said to be installed successfully. However, it doesn't show up as a usable program and iSync doesn't detect my Palm device.
    iMacG5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

It isn't a program - it's a conduit. The process of running the installer placed a copy of the iSync Palm Conduit—which appears simply as Apple in the Finder, or iSync Conduit in the HotSync conduit list—in your active Conduits folder.
And, your device will not show up in iSync until you add it using the HotSync Manager or the HotSync menu option of the Palm Desktop to configure it, by selecting the conduit and checking the box labeled Enable iSync for this Palm device.

  • Installing iSync Palm Conduit

Using an iMac G5 with 10.4.3
I tried to install iSyncPalm.dmg and got the message: iSync Palm Conduites cannot be installed on this computer.
iSync Palm Conduit requries iSync to be insatlled first. Problem is that iSync is installed and is visible in the menu at the top right of the computer. How do fix this problem?

The iSync Palm Conduit package you downloaded - version 1.2 - cannot be installed on a machine running iSync 2 or later. That conduit is intended for use only with iSync 1.5 or earlier.
iSync 2 and later for use with Mac OS X 10.4 and later has the conduit 'built-in' and it is installed when you setup up iSync to synchronize a Palm device. To do so…
    • launch iSync
    • select the option to Enable Palm OS Syncing… from the Devices menu
    • follow the instructions which appear in the dialog box
You do not add a Palm device to iSync using the Add Device… option as with other devices. It is added - and the iSync Palm Conduit installed and activated - as a result of the steps I outlined above.
Make sure that before you do this, you have installed or updated the Palm Desktop to version 4.2.1 release D if your Palm device is supported by this package. More information is available here:

  • ISync palm conduit does not allow Mac overwrite palm, or does it?

A HUGE problem I am seeing with iSync is there is no way to force it to set one device to overwrite a flawed one.
I had my Palm loose its data. No problem thiis had happened once before and i set my palm desktop hotsync to have Mac overwrite Palm.
This time the iSync conduit does not allow that, it doesn't allow anything! so I tried it and wow, it synced the palm as NEWER data and wiped out my address book and calander, NOW that was useful.
I restored from a .Mac backup and tossed the palm aside.
Now my wife has lost her palm data and we need to figure out how to put her Palm desktop data onto her palm, but I'm afraid to use isync but it won't let her use the old PalmDesktop asddress and calander conduits
    What should we do now?
How can I get rid of iSync and use the Palm Hotsync
    OR
How can I set a direction in iSync, none of the menus show anything like this.
At this point I would have to say iSync and other devices that have had Dataloss *****
    any help is appreciated
    Bruce

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
There is no explicit directional control for data flow in iSync under most circumstances, and this is clearly a shortcoming of the program itself and of the iSync Palm Conduit. This limitation can be overcome, but you need a thorough understanding of what your options are, and what your responsibilities should be to avoid data loss.
In general terms, iSync works to 'equalize' data sets on each device in your pool, by taking additions, changes and deletions made on any device and transferring these additions, changes and deletions to all other devices during the synchronization process. Understanding that, you can see that if you reset your Palm device in a manner which removes your calendaring, tasks and contact data, then a synchronization will remove the matching records from both iCal and the Address Book.
To avoid data loss following such a substantial change on any device in your pool, you should back up your iCal and Address Book data using the backup feature built into each application prior to initiating the next synchronization. That way, should the data be removed during an event, it can be immediately restored to the state it was just prior to that synchronization event.
You can overwrite your Palm device to avoid this sort of problem only when iSync 'believes' that you are performing a first-time synchronization. That situation can be triggered by either…
    • first removing your device from iSync, then choosing to Enable Palm OS Syncing… again, or by
    • opening the iSync Preferences… dialog and pressing the Reset Sync History… button under the Advanced section
When you next try to synchronize, you will be asked if you want to Merge or Replace data: choose Replace to overwrite the data on your handheld device.
Admittedly, this application is very poorly documented, and - at times - clearly unreliable. It's easy to understand why you would not have been aware of the catastrophic loss of data that loomed before you as you prepared to synchronize your data, believing that it would be restored to your Palm device.
You can certainly stop using iSync and return to the Palm Desktop, but that precludes synchronizing your data with iCal and the Address Book, so that option is not as nearly attractive as it might seem at first glance.

  • Really Apple? OSX 10.8.5 disables built-in camera functionality with third party apps such as Skype and Gmail video chat. I do not have time machine on my 2013 MB Air. How can I get back to 10.8.4?

    Really Apple?
With the release OSX 10.8.5 Apple has once again showed its true colors, and continued its efforts to create a closed Apple system, which eliminates third party vendors, unless, one can only assume... they pay.
Included in this OSX update is the disabling of the built-in camera to work with third party applications such as Skype and Gmail video chat. No surprise the camera works just fine with Apple apps such as Facetime and Photobooth.
The answer I got on my call to AppleCare to ask for assistance in reinstalling 10.8.4, so that I may Skype again, was we can not do that. You can not go back unless you have a time machine bkup.
Can anyone help me get back to to 10.8.4 on my 2013 MB Air?
I do not have a time machine bkup as this computer is not used to store important documents.
    Thank you.

  • SharePoint 2013 on-premises integration with third party email account

the Email sending issue from SharePoint is causing too much time waste
First let me explain how our SharePoint is deployed
    Sharepoint version : 2013
    Deployment type : on-premise
Authentication : from Domain controller also hosted locally
domain name ; say domain.com this domain.com is same as our website address hosted on godaddy
SharePoint computer name on local DNS :  sharepoint.domain.com
    OS and IIS : 2008 r2 , IIS 7.5
Network firewall : 25 26 ports  opened for sharepoint , both incoming and outgoing.
    Server firewall : turned off
Email configuration Attempts by IIS 6.0
We tried following setting on IIS 6.0 SMTP local server properties
    In General tab
qualified name was shown as : sharepoint.dts-solution.com
IP assigned : sharepoint server IP  , advanced putted two entries of IP with ports as 25,26
    In Access tab
    Authentication : selected as Anonymous
Connection : All except below list : empty list
Relay : only the list below , one entry as 127.0.0.1 and other is local static IP of SharePoint server
    in Delivery tab
outbound security : Basic authentication : accessed user in AD and given the right password, also checked with annonymous -not working
outbound connection: all default values and port = 25
Advance : fully qualified domain name = sharepoint.domain.com , DNS test showed success, rest every check box unchecked
    On sharepoint central management settings
    Outbound email = sharepoint.domain.com
from and reply to address = [email protected]
    IIS 7.5 SMTP settings
In IIS 7.5 sharepoint application we added SMTP settings as smtp server = godaddy out going smtp , user name as [email protected] , password = godaddy password , port : godaddy outgoing port  .
    Godaddy account
Our website hosted on godaddy with same name as domain.com
open relay not possible on emails.
    Results
After setting alerts on SharePoint sites and assigning tasks with alerts we receive email in queue folder but they never get forwarded. We just wish to use any of our email *.domain.com to send outgoing emails from SharePoint . Its been a while we have no
    success.

    Hi,
As I understand, you are using SharePoint 2013 integrating with third party SMTP server which provides email function.
From SharePoint side, I'd suggest you refer to the link below to configure email integration:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee956941(v=office.15).aspx
If you have already confirm that message is sent from SharePoint, while stuck in queue on SMTP server, then the issue might be related to relay on SMTP server. Since the issue is related to third party product, we do not have enough resource here,
I'd recommend you contact their support engineer for more assistance:

  • Integration of ChaRM with third party tools

    Hi all,
We are in the process of building the solution for Change Request Management implementation integrated with third party tool.
As the normal process for ChaRM is to work with the Service Desk functionality (to raise a ticket, then support message, change request, change document etc...), but what we need is create the change request, and change document directly with ChaRM without using the Service Desk functionality.
Did anybody come across this situation?
    Please share your experience.
    Thanks in advance.
    Balaji

    Hi Balaji,
there is no problem, as I understand, you want to use ChaRM without Service Desk. OK, than you create directly a Change Request in CRMD_ORDER, the transaction type you have to select is SDCR (standard transaction type), you have to approve it and then you can create a change document, it is not necessary that you start with a Service Desk ticket like SLFN.
You need configured TMS a SolMan Project with a Maintenance Cycle, thats it (but this is enough , don't forget the customizing).
I hope I understood you correct

  • How to integrate DRM with third party tool for loading metadata in SQL table

    Experts,
I am new to DRM and I have a requirement in which we want to integrate DRM with third party tool(lets say SQL table) as target and load metadata from DRM (Parent node, name , alias etc) to SQL table (same column name)
Is there any way we can integrate DRM to export the same to table directly instead to files. If yes what are the steps we have to follow.
Is there anyway we can customize DRM to execute queries or run batch
Can I have a basic example please.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

    1. Use DRM Export to Table option, for that create an External Connection first for the Target Database and select the respective Tables to which you wish to Export the Hierarchy information.
    2. You can perform most of the DRM Actions via the DRM_BATCH_CLIENT.exe.
Please refer to Using the Data Relationship Management Batch Client of DRM User guide.
let me know if you have any issues.

  • How to integrate iReceivables with third party payment system?

    Hi,
My requirement is to integrate iReceivables with third party payment system.
Can anyone guide me to achieve this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sunita

    Hello Prasad,
<b>Connection with an External Payroll System</b>
Payroll Outsourcing functionality allows you to compile master data or payroll data in the SAP system to submit to a third-party service provider in an electronic format. The Outsourcing solution available in the United States and Canada provides a generic interface which writes data into an IDoc (Intermediate Document) for transport to a third-party system. In order to transport data into and out of the SAP system, you must set up a logical system, partner definition, and outsourcing ports.
If you have built your own payroll interface, using the Interface Toolbox, for example, you can use the Import section of this scenario. The Export section applies only to the transport of IDocs.
For more information regarding outsourcing, refer to the SAP Library, Human Resources  -> PY Payroll  -> PY-US United States Payroll or PY-CA Canada Payroll  -> Outsourcing.

  • SAP IDM  7.0 integration with third party system

    Hi Experts,
I know SAP IDM  7.0 can integrate with third party systems and create user ids on most of the third party systems.
But I need to know regarding If it is possible to integrate with following systems
    1) Microsoft Exchange 2007 (  I know till exchange 2003 SAP  IDM support )
    2)  Microsoft  Active directory 2008 ( I know till Actice directory 2003)
    3) EMC  Documentum 6.5
    4)  ARIS 7.1.0
    5)  BlackBoard, Release 9.0
    6) Oracle 10g  ( Is it possible to create users at oracle level ? or at what level ? )
    7)  Sun Solaris Sparc  ( Is it possible to create users at  OS level )
If you have information how on this please share. I know that  provisioning framework will have templates for most of the target systems. I want to know if they are available for above systems on SAP IDM 7.0 or if not have we can connect to them?

    Hi Matthew
Your expertise in SAP IDM is indeed a great help!!
    >Can't see why not, it's all done via SQL commands. I've done similar things with MSSQL
You mean that there will be oracle 10g drivers/oledb connectors in SAP IDM and in through SQL commands like "create user alfredo identified by alfredos_secret; " we can create user  in oracle database ?. As you said this should be possible.  What about creating user( user management ) in oracle 10g application  like dba or scot  and assigning the privileges in oracle application?
    >might need to do via UNIX scripts, but it can be done
You mean that Unix scripts will be defined in SAP IDM and SAP IDM will execute these scripts in the Sun Solaris Sparc ?. It should be possible as you said. By the way how we will be able connect to Sun Solaris sparc ?  Is it via  the option "file " under the "Repositories" with repositories wizard  and later executing the file from SAP IDM ?
Thank you once again for your expert answers on third party systems.
