ISync stopped recognizing my .Mac account? Nothing seems to restore this!

According to my status on line, I'm a "Full Member" and under System Preferences => .Mac => Account, Account Status says "Full Member" and that "Your account will automatically renew in 286 days".
But, when I click on "Sync" , I get this message: "Sync Unavailable" then... "Sorry, your .Mac account is not authorized to synchronize to .Mac. Syncing to .Mac lets you keep the information on multiple Macs the same and access critical information like contacts and bookmarks from any computer. Upgrade now to a full .Mac membership to enable this feature." and it offers two buttons: "Not Yet" and "Upgrade Now". If I click on "Upgrade Now", it takes me to the .Mac website for login, when I use my working password, I get a screen that says "We're sorry, The feature that you are trying to access is available for .Mac paid members only."
I've tried multiple things here and nothing seems to work. The odd thing is, I sync'd with .Mac just 2 hours earlier. It appears to have started right after I sync'd my iDisk and since then, nothing but what I stated above.
I sure hope someone has run into this and resolved it - I'd hate to think that I need to do a reinstall.

After a lot of issue with my 2nd load of Leopard, I decided to do the reinstall once more and upon doing so, many things were resolved including this issue. However, interestingly enough, what ever I had synced with .Mac via iSync no longer was available on .Mac and I was unable to update my computer. Fortunately I did have my backups of my settings using the Backup 3.1.2 utility.

Could have to do with home sharing. Try turining off and then back on home sharing on your AppleTV.

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

The only way is to restore through iTunes. Make sure you're following the steps exactly (disconnect all cables, connect micro USB, if using a 3rd gen ATV reconnect power). Make sure to connect directly to computer, not a keyboard port or USB hub. Try a different cable. Check firewall and security software installed on the system.

Problem with .mac account and mail 2.05 (os x 10.4.4)

i am not able to add a .mac account in mail 2.05. system is os x 10.4.4.
.mac settings in system preference work fine, on my cube with os 10.3.9 i can add the .mac account without problems.
in mail under 10.4.4 i can´t even select accounts besides IMAP, POP and EXCHANGE. if i delete mails plist and even the mail file and achieving a "virginal mail" i just can select these 3 accounts (POP,IMAP,EXCHANGE). strange because if i setup .mac settings in system preferences before setting up a POP mail account (i have 3 POP accounts besides .mac), the .mac account is automatically set up in mail. but even than i can´t set up manually (another) .mac account (can´t be selected in account pulldown menue) as well as soon as i delete it it can´t be resetup.
no way with new user, same procedure. i reinstalled mail from tiger-dvd as well as reinstalling 10.4.4 combo update and repair disc permissions. no way to get .mac to work the normal way.
has anyone any idea?

the empty folder ~/Library/Mail/ at root level seemed to be the problem of not being able to activating the .Mac account in mail. after copying this folder onto harddisk again (i have a new "20 iMac at work with 10.4.4) the problem was solved. no idea how to get this folder again besides installing a blank 10.4.x install onto external firewire hdd or having a second system...

i guess i made a mistake when migrating my old mail prefs from 10.3.x to 10.4.x blank install when moving the folders to 10.4.x maybe i have first choosen the ~/Library/Mail/ folder at root level and when recognizing that mail is not working with new user, i´m sure i might have deleted the whole mail prefs and mail folder on root level and copied the whole stuff again into USER/Library/Mail/. Therefore the folder ~/Library/Mail/ at root level became empty. i purchased .Mac just a few days ago so i recognized this failure just now...

I Got the same problem. When you change the output to internal speakers again facetime works again in the mac.
I think it may be some kind of incompatibility with the current driver. I used in the past the old tascam Us-122 and worked well but its driver don't work more for the mountain lion system so i bought this newest one.
When i used the old one I could use the volume keys on the mac keyboard to control output volume; now with the us-322 when hearing music you can control volume just from the tascam.

Cannot send mail from .mac account in Entourage

I am a new mac user so my troubleshooting skills are very weak. Until about one week ago, i was able to send mail from both my hotmail account and my .mac account. Now, i get this error (just on my .mac account):
An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic.
i read through much of the support articles, but did not find my specific error. can anyone help??

it may be that your server (internet provider) has just started blocking outgoing mails not authenticated by them.
Go to your account set up...
and fill in the following details.
SMTP SERVER: smtp.mac.com
then click on advanced sending otions...
click on override default SMTP port... type 587
click on SMTP servber requires authentication...
use same setting as receiving mail server.

Forwarding E-mail to .mac account

Is there a limit on how many e-mail address you can forward to your .mac account? I have about 10 and I am having trouble with receiveing my mail.

Do you want to access your AOL email account with the Mail.app or forward your AOL email to your .Mac account?
Via your .Mac account preferences, you can check another email account that is a POP type account which will deposit received messages for the POP type account in your .Mac account's Inbox mailbox but this cannot be done with an IMAP type account.
And I don't believe you can forward messages from an AOL email account to another email account via AOL account prefereces.

"On My Mac" vs "My .Mac Account" in Apple Mail

Hello Everyone,
Since I upgraded to Leopard this weekend, Apple Mail has been acting differently than it used to with my .Mac service.
First of all the underlying theory behind IMAP is to keep everything in sync on the server and on the local computer.
Apple Mail has created the following two different worlds in Apple Mail's Mailbox: "On My Mac" and "My .Mac Account".
The "My .Mac Account" is the account I created to setup my .Mac in Mail>Preferences>Accounts. But the "On My Mac" just popped out of nowhere in the following places:
Trash
On My Mac
My .Mac Account
it has also created TWO exactly identical Mailbox folders with the following headers and subheaders in the Mailbox pane on the left:
On My Mac
Deleted Messages (My .Mac Account)
Drafts (My .Mac Account)
On My Mac
Deleted Messages (My .Mac Account)
Drafts (My .Mac Account)
Why it has created this in the first place and why it has created it twice nonetheless baffles me.
I find it confusing between "On My Mac" and "My .Mac Account".
It was much better before when in the previous Apple Mail on Tiger, we just had Inbox, Drafts, Sent, and Trash. Simple.
I figured out how to get rid of "On My Mac" in the Trash and the two main folders it created twice, but going into preferences>accounts>mailbox behaviors and unchecking all boxes that says to store anything on the server, including drafts, and trash items.
But by unchecking all those boxes, not everything will stay in sync between my computer and the server. If I keep them checked, I get all those "On My Mac" stuff popping up in Apple Mail.
What is there to do? Is there a way to fix this? Thank you very much!

Solution: Go to the User Library and search for the Containers, Apple's newest annoying "feature". Here you find the true Mail folder. Delete everything (unless you have any POP-Accounts, then this solution won't apply). Also go to the Mail folder in User Lib Preferences and delete it entirely.
Then empty the User Caches folder to the Trash, don't empty it.
Open System Settings, delete your iCloud account. If it cannot be deleted due to an error concerning AppleMail, leave it as is.
Restart Mac.
Empty Trash.
Launch AppleMail. Create all accounts other than iCloud.
Create iCloud Account by NOT using the template in the dialog list - do it as "other", AppleMail will recognize it and do the rest.
Open System Settings, create your old iCloud acount again.
Restart Mac.
Done.

Can't send emails using .mac accounts? Finally the solution!!! Nice & Easy!

Found this after searching these discussions for over an hour, and it really works, but you MUST create a new account, don't edit your existing one. Very quick & easy!!! Here you go, courtesy of Guillermo Toro-Lira:
OK guys, problem solved, at least for those with a dotMac account like me.
You have to create a new MobileMe account in your iPhone using your new MobileMe email address ( [email protected] instead of [email protected] ).
Select Add Account... on Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then MobileMe, enter your name, MobileMe address, password and description and select Save. The system will validate your account first. Then go back to Accounts, select your dotMac account and select delete. Your new mails, contacts, calendars will be sync'd by your new MobileMe account.
It looks like iPhone classic 2.0 requires your new MobileMe address ([email protected]) to send emails.

I accessed my .Mac account with the iPhone's mail client with my first generation iPhone for over a year including for a while after the change to MM before I purchased my iPhone 3G.
The first generation iPhone and the iPhone 3G are capable of running the same firmware so there is no difference between the two in this regard. To say the first generation iPhone requires creating and accessing the @Me account instead of the @Mac account is incorrect.
If this is true with many, how come not a single person has chimed in with this thread saying the same thing?

I keep getting the message itunes has stopped working I can't even open itunes I have tried uninstalling and installing, starting in safe mode but nothing seems to work. Please can anyone help me

I have recently bought a new laptop with windows 7 and when i have tried to install and open itunes i keep getting the message 'itunes has stopped working' itunes then shuts down before i can do anything to fix it. If and when I finally manage to open it, as soon as I click on a movie to watch, the message "itunes has stopped working" comes up.
