iSync is for syncing contacts and calendars to third-party mobile phones via a USB or Bluetooth connection. iSync has never synced bookmarks and does not sync anything between computers.

Firefox sync will not sync my bookmarks

I'm using Firefox 4.0.1. I have deleted and reinstalled Firefox Home onto my iPhone 4. Twice. I have deleted my device and reinstalled and re-synced. Twice. It will sync my tabs and history but will not sync my bookmarks. The app is up to date on my phone.

New Macbook iCal will not sync to MobileMe

I bought a new macbook air and when i turn on syncing, my mobileme account will not sync the calendar saying mobile me needs to be fixed...the dialog box says:
"You need to replace your calendar information on MobileMe." If this computer has the most current information, click replace. If the most current information is on another computer, click Fix Later and replace your information from that computer...

Sounds like exactly the same problem I have. Have Black MacBook and iPhone 3Gs synced to MobileMe and everything works. I set up a White MacBook (both MacBooks are 10.5.8) with new HD, formatted, new install of Leopard, new application installs, ran software update until all are current, then ran Repair Permissions.
Then turned on MobileMe sync. Safari bookmarks, Mail, Contacts, etc all sync fine and near real time for changes. iCal on computer is completely blank--didn't even update the 4 named calendars. I reset iSync history and tried replacing data on computer with MobileMe content. Nothing. Then reset iSync history again and tried merging all data. This time it said there was over 3,000 calendar events to add. Sounded good. But nothing happened.
Looks like I can create a new event in iCal and it syncs to MobileMe, then delete in MM and it updates on MacBook. But zero existing events in MM show in iCal on MacBook, even when I edit one and resave it.
Update: I sent a message to Apple at www.apple.com/feedback.

IPhone with 2.0 update and iTunes 7.7 - Will not sync.

I am unable to sync my iPhone at all with my MacBook. It was syncing fine, until I installed a few applications. Now it will not sync period, no errors either.
It is in System Profiler:
iPhone:

The iPhone charges, iTunes just won't recognize it. I reset the iSync Sync History and it won't work with iSync either.

No other suggestions, as it appears to be software related. You can try downloading the combo installer for iTunes 7.7 and reinstalling it over the existing copy. You can also reset the sync services on the computer. Other than that, the restart/reset/restore is recommended. If you call Applecare they will ask if you've performed the 3 R's before continuing.
Have you tried plugging the phone into another computer, either Mac or PC to rule out hardware problems on your Mac or a bad USB cable? (grasping at straws as system profiler sees the phone, but could still be possible)

ISync will not start

I am trying to use Isync 1.5 to synchronise with my Sony Ericcson 810i using bluetooth.
ISync will not launch. The console log reports the following error.

I have downloaded the latest version of iSync from the Apple web site. All software on the macbook is up to date. I have verified disc permissions and run the repair disc utility (having booted up from another drive)

There's a number of things to consider:
1) The Sony Ericsson W810i is not compatible with iSync 1.5. Support for that phone was added in iSync v2.3 which was part of the Mac OS X 10.4.7 update.
2) Your signature line states you are running Mac OS X 10.4.6 - which already includes iSync 2.2.
3) iSync v1.5 is only for Mac OS X 10.3.9 - you should not be trying to use iSync 1.5 with any version of Mac OS X 10.4.x Tiger.
The latest version of iSync for Mac OS X 10.4.x is iSync 2.4 - not iSync 1.5.
iSync 2.4 is part of the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Update and is not available as a separate download.
Why did you download iSync 1.5, when you already had at least iSync 2.2??
You should delete the iSync 1.5 application from your Mac, and download the Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Updater for your Mac from here:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx10411comboupdat eintel.html
This will update your Mac OS X to v10.4.11 and your iSync to v2.4 - both the latest versions for 10.4.x Tiger, as long as you didn't overwrite your existing iSync 2.x with the downloaded iSync 1.5.
Then you will be able to sync your W810i.

ISync will not open and will not synchronize

I had recently let SOHO Organizer finish a third 30 day trial. I waited about one week after the trial was over. I had been having sync troubles on my computer which I thought were .mac sync problems. After awhile I decided the problems were with some kind of internal syncing mechanism. I have noticed in the activity monitor several times something called "syncserver" using about 99% of the cpu resources. Synchronizations other than with SOHO, if they sync at all, can take many hours. I do not know if any of this could have been caused during the use of my trial version of SOHO Organizer. With the trial version for awhile I was getting several duplications of various calendars. I deleted the unwanted calendars both in SOHO and in iCal. With all of this going on, I purchased SOHO Organizer and then reinstalled it thinking this may somehow fix something. Things are worse. The present condition is after 3 days it has not synchronized. There is only 1 entry showing in contacts, Chronos. My Address Book has 1300 contacts. My calendars are not imported. How do I get the synchronization to work? The most recent development is that iSync will not even open. I get an error message each time stating iSync quit unexpectedly.

I never figured out the problem or solution. One day after several months of trying different things from time to time it just started working ok. The last thing we tried with the cooperation of tech support at Apple was to set up a new user and migrate all my stuff to it. The first thing we tried to do was migrate the address book to the new user and it failed to open in the new user. I gave up due to time constraints. Then the next time I used my computer I found it was syncing ok.

IPhone will not sync old appointments - even with filter unchecked!

I sync my iPhone with MS Outlook on my laptop. I had some trouble getting all my appointments to sync with a 90-day old filter on. I unchecked the dat filter, but two of my recurring event (birthdays) still will not sync. In one case I just made a minor change and it worked.
In the other case, the birthday of an aunt in 1906, I had to make the start date 1998 instead of 1906. It appears there is a date filter even when the date filter is unchecked in iTunes. Anyone familiar with this? Reported bug?
If such a filter exists, it is a problem with older birthdays.

As a first step, deselect syncing your calendars via your iPhone sync preferences, and select Apple at the lower right.
Disconnect your iPhone and quit iTunes.
Launch the iSync application and go to iSync Preferences.
Select Reset Sync History.
Quit iSync and then restart your Mac.
Try selecting sync your calendars via your iPhone sync preferences, select Apple and then sync.
If this doesn't work, I would try exporting or backing up your iCal data and then deleting all calendars. Import your iCal data from the backup and try syncing again.

HT5826 My notes and markings will not sync on my iphone, only on mini and ipod

I download books and magazines from A website and study using underlining, notes, and highlighting. These markings will sync between my ipod and mini ipad, but will not sync with my 5s phone. Ive been to one on ones and genius as well as icloud phone appt. apple says the problem is with the website, but if so, why would two devices be able to sync and the other not?
All my devices run IOS7.1 the same operating system, they all have sync bookmarks and collections turned on, they all have the same ibooks 3.2 (2083)
My phone carrier Verizon says they dont deal with ibooks.
I'm just about worn out with this one.

On the iPhone, in Settings try de-selecting the sync and then adding it back. You might want to put it in the airplane mode for a couple of minutes to make sure the sync is broken.

ICloud not syncing Bookmarks _BAR_

So iCloud is a fail so far - 2 Macs (one a home, one a work) and they are not syncing bookmarks. At least not any bookmarks in the Menu Bar. But I keep ALL my bookmarks in the menu Bar.
Anyone have a clue when iCloud will be able to sync all bookmarks between Macs?

This iCloud sync problem has been resolved... (at least on my two Apple devices).....
My iPhone would not sync the bookmarks or bookmarks bar from my iMac. I have a new iPhone 4s that I just purchased recently and my iMac is about a year old. My iMac was using the latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system.
I did some research and discovered that in order for iCloud to work properly (to sync bookmarks and the bookmarks bar) between my new iPhone and older iMac that I needed to purchase and install Apple's newest operating system: OS X Lion. I purchased and downloaded the newest version OS X Lion, (version 10.7.2) and now iCloud works flawlessly between my two Apple devices.
Apparently iCloud does not work properly with Apple's older operating systems, though iCloud did sync my contacts, calendars and reminders it would not sync my bookmarks or bookmarks bar until I upgraded the operating system on my iMac to OS X Lion.
It's a shame that I had to pay for and download a whole new operating system on my iMac before the iCloud system would work correctly on both of my Apple devices but at least now iCloud works the way it is supposed to.
I hope this info helps others with the same problem I was having with iCloud bookmarks.

Notes just will not sync

Been using iCloud and mobile me for a long time. I sync my iPad and iPhone and a few macs. Contacts, iCal, bookmarks all sync fine and automatically. Notes never sync. Yes, the 'sync notes' slider is on in my devices. I just setup a new iPad and everything but notes synced instantly but no notes. What's with notes?

First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing.

IPhone suddenly will not sync and locks up iTunes

For a little over 2 weeks now, my iPhone will not sync properly with iTunes. I'll plug in my iPhone and it will instantly lock up iTunes, with the spinning rainbow and all. After awhile, iTunes will start working again, but will be extremely sluggish. If I try to sync the iPhone, it just does a neverending sync, and won't actually work. The phone will show up in iPhoto, but won't show up on my desktop. I've tried reinstalling iTunes over the current version, I've tried different USB ports, different USB cables ... I just cannot figure this out!! Help!

The iPhone does not show up on your desktop regardless - even with manually manage music and video selected for your iPhone sync preferences. The iPhone does not support disk mode.
You are connecting direct to a USB port on your Mac, and not via a USB hub - with connecting to an available USB port on your keyboard or monitor considered a hub?
Does your Mac have USB 2.0 ports, or 1.1?
Long shot for this particular problem, but as a first step, try reseting the sync history on your Mac, which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application.
After selecting Reset Sync History, restart your Mac and try again.

To whom it may concern,
My iPod Classic has worked perfectly for the few years I've had it. I only use it a few times a month on average so it's still in really nice shape.
Earlier today, I went to sync it like I do every couple of weeks whenever I add new songs, and something strange occurred. At first, it seems to say "Syncronizing..." but quickly stops and displays the "Connected" status instead - not long enough to sync even one song.
Sure enough, I checked it and it had not updated.
After using the "Run Diagnostics" option, it tells me "Device Sync Tests Results: No iPod touch, iPhone or iPad found."
Yet - under "Device Connectivity Tests", it does say "iPod Found" and it shows up as a device in my iTunes - but not in my Devices (under Preferences).
I followed every step in the troubleshooting guide that iTunes directed me to, each with the same results. As a last resort, I used a Factory Restore, which was what the website told me to do.
To my horror, the problem STILL persists - and I just cleared out not only all of my songs, but photos that were very important to me that I only had on my ipod. I even tried to do a backup first, but my device would not show up under the "Preferences/Devices" category, I could not even save them before I restored it.
Now I am stuck with an ipod that will not sync with my itunes library, and an ipod that has absolutely nothing on it. At least before I restored it, it had all of my old music and photos on it.
This is very frustrating and upsetting. If there is anything that might be able to be done, please help - and please, do not send me back to the same webpage - I already tried everything there at least twice now.
I also borrowed a different cable to make sure it wasn't my adapter, and there was no difference.
To make matters worse, as I am trying to find someone to assist me, I received this message after entering my serial number;
"It looks like your product is not covered for complimentary technical support, so you may need to purchase a single incident of support."
This iPod already cost me $250.00 and that was steep in and of itself. I really do not feel that it would be fair to have to pay even more just to get some help when it malfunctions.
If absolutely anything can be done, please help me. I would be very grateful.

This issue has been resolved - my Support Advisor, Edgar, was able to discern what was causing the problem.
It appears that, despite years of never experiencing this, one of the latest ipod updates actually altered my device's personal settings and changed it to "Manual" for all synchronizing; even performcing Factory Restores did not change it back to being automatic.
My ipod is working as good as ever now thanks to Edgar. If anyone else is having this problem, please make sure you check your device's settings in iTunes and see if "Manual" is checked - even if you never changed the settings yourself and have no reason to suspect that to be the problem, as was the case here. If it is checked - uncheck it to enable automatic syncing.
So relieved this was not a much more serious problem. I've missed having my music on the go. Thanks, Edgar!

Nevv Palm TX will not sync my Outlook 2003 calendar

My new TX will not sync my Outlook calendar (or the Palm calendar for that matter). Will do tasks, memos, contacts.
