It doesn't want to put music from my computer onto my iPhone 4S
This has been bothering me for months, and I'm p****d.
I've got the music on my computer, and I've added it to my iTunes library. I've plugged in my iPhone (which, another issue: sometimes it doesn't say my iPhone is plugged in, and I have to keep plugging and unplugging it until it does), and it says it's there. I drag the music from my library over to my iPhone's music folder, and it says "Updating files" or whatever, and the music doesn't get put onto my phone.
It's now started saying "Lost connection with iPhone" when I'm not doing anything, also.
iTunes is a horrible program overall and I avoid using it at all costs, but I've got a ton of music on my computer and I can't find another free program that'll transfer my music over. Please help!

the big question is what kind of file is it. you need to locate the actual music file, and check to see if its a mp3, wav, etc. to check the file type, after you locate it, right click on the file and select 'properties'. it should tell you the file type there.
are your songs in your iTunes library?
if so, how are you copying files to your iPhone? are you setting up playlists? are the files you want on your iPhone in one of the playlists you setup to sync to your iPhone? -

If you want to delete content from your computer but keep it on the iPod (so that is not deleted next time you connect it to iTunes), you need to set that iPod to manage the iPod content manually.

hi everyone when i am putting music from my computer to my phone every song saves under a seperate album on my phone.. how can i fix this?

- click album view on music
Are there more than one albums there?
- ctrl+click each individual album that has been separated
- right click the album in question with them selected
- album info
- update every field to reflect the same except the song title
--genre and album should reflect the same. Sometimes they separate too
- hit ok
If the same on iTunes but not the iPhone
- remove all songs and videos
- add them again to replace the defected albums -

I understand that you have music on an iPod from your old computer. You now have a new computer but do not want to have the music from the iPod erased when you sync to the new computer. If the music on your iPod was purchased from iTunes you can either transfer those purchases from the iPod to your new computer’s iTunes Library or you can download the previously purchased content directly to your iTunes Library from iTunes. Please use the following article as reference for transferring purchases.

I am trying to sync my music from my computer to my iphone 6 but my computer keeps bringing up an error box "computer not authorized" but it is authorized. Please help!
I have a pc and am trying to get my music through my iTunes on my computer. I didn't have any trouble syncing my iphone 5S but can't get it to sync with my 6. OS 8.1.3
I open iTunes on my pc, plug in my phone, then I click on the picture of a phone on the upper left hand corner of my music library. Then I get a box of options with sync at the lower right. I have clicked "automatically sync when phone is plugged in" and have also tried to do it manually by checking specific songs and albums. Every time I hit sync the box pops up that says, "The iPhone could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone. To authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes store choose Store>Authorize This Computer."
I took those steps and a box pops up that says "this computer is already authorized."
I have my recently purchased music on my phone that came through the cloud when I restored my phone. But I want my old music from CD's that I put on my iTunes library in my computer. I had all of this music on my old phone.

I recently updated and restored my Iphone on a Mac. My music was erased, therefore, I am trying to sync all of the music from my computer into the iPhone, but it says that I need to use the original computer/itunes in order to sync, but it is the same computer and iTunes account. The error reads: The iPhone, "Name" is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and a sync with this iTunes library? If I click "Erase and Sync," will it delete my contacts, apps, etc?

Okay, you are using Windows 7. What version of iTunes do you have. Please don't tell me the most current one, go into Help then About iTunes and read what it says.
