it doesnt support the operating system for mac? adobe premiere?

Hi,
which version of Premiere Pro are you trying to install? Also check your system compatibility for Premiere Pro CC as suggested by John. If you are trying to install CS6 or any of the previous versions then you can check the compatibilty from this link. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-premiere-pro.html MAC OS 10.6.8 should work with Premiere Pro CS6, if your system meets the rest of the criteria. For Premiere Pro CC, 10.6.8 may not work. Check your OS if its a 32 bit or a 64 bit http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3696

  • If I clone my Internal Hard Drive, will it also clone the operating system (Lion Mac OS X 10.7.3)?

    Hello everybody,
I own a MacBook Pro 13" i5 with 8GB of RAM (late 2011). I just bought a Crucial 128GB SSD. I would like to clone my actual hard drive and paste it in the new SSD, I know how to do it but, will this also clone the operating system (Lion Mac OS X 10.7.3)? If the answer is yes, that means that when I'll have the SSD in place, I'll only need to start-it up and all my data will be there, as well as Lion, right?

Of the two popular cloning utilities, SuperDuper does NOT clone the Recovery Partition, CarbonCopyCloner will, but only if you enable block mode copy. This partition is important cause it is the only way to recover/repair the main volume if it gets damaged and you don't have reasonably fast Internet access; Lion does not come with install media.
wjosten: no need to flip the disks about prior to cloning. Just go ahead and do the deed with Disk Utility and swap until you are certain and happy with the results.

  • HT1338 How do I update the Operating System for my MacBook Pro?

I currently have OS version 10.5.8.  I can't get the proper plug-ins for Flash anymore because my Mac OS is too old.  I've tried updating the OS, but it will not let me install it.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.

  • What is the operating system for MC011LL?

Why can't I sync all of my music to my iPod?

The 3G can only go as high as iOS 5.1.1.
Is there anything different about the songs that do sync and those do not? Like where they came from?
Do the non-syncing songs play in iTunes on the computer?
If they are iTunes purchases are Restrictions set that would prevent syncing those songs?

  • Is there a timekeeping system for Mac?

My uncle has a small cleaning business and he uses a telephone timekeeping system so he can easily keep track of employees clocking and out. He would like to be able to replace the one he's got as it's been having issues recently and it's 15 years old. He would like a Mac-based one as his current timekeeping system is running on a Windows based IBM clone. His current timekeeping system's hardware consists of a PCI card which has phone line ports on it. He would like to be able to have two phone lines for it to prevent busy signals when a lot of employees are clocking in and out.
Is there a Mac-compatible timekeping system which meets those criteria, (preferably one which is not PCI or PCIE)?

iOS is for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. The operating system for Macs is OS X, and a new version, OS X 10.9 Mavericks, was just released yesterday. It's free in the Mac App Store for anyone running a compatible Mac. See:

hi, gonna be buying a mac laptop.
im not feeling leopard for coupla reasons.
im new to all this by the way. so dont know about the diff versions of operating systems for mac........i just know tiger 10.4 was one prior.
for music software, which op system and version is most compatible with the various music apps and vst companies etc out there. like i dont mind not using the latest versions of popular programmes like pro tools and logic and ableton.
leopared is very specific and not backwards compatiblewith alot of software it seems.
    cheers
like whats the most popular system in use by music production culture, not necessarily professionals, just hobbyists.
like if you have service pack 2 XP, i know youre good to go. simple as that.
    whats the mac equivalent?

Leopard doesn't work well with G5!!
If you have tiger, stay with it, its solid. There is no reason to use leo at the moment!
There is nothing you cannot do with tiger concerning audio.
When its time to upgrade, you can do, but who knows.....
    Cheers Eddie
What FUD. Seriously. Plenty of people on this board are running leopard with no problem. My leopard is solid, and it runs logic and reason.
Leopard worked fine on my G5.
As for the comment about leopard not being able to run tiger....well, that's kinda mind blowing.

  • VM Fusion and windows operating systems on mac

I have VM Fusion on my mac book pro in annticipation of using windows xp or windows 7 on my macbook.  Do I need to need to purchase the operating system for windows and the application, such as MS office?

Virtualization software provides you with virtual hardware only.  You still need to provide your own OS and applications to run on that OS.  Not all OSes cost money (Linux is a good example of a free OS).  Depending upon your OS choice, you may or may not need to pay money to get the applications you wish to run there.
In general Microsoft products are not free, but you can generally get a 90-180 day evaluation copy for "free".  That copy is generally good for a certain amount of time, then it stops working and you need to pay them for a license to keep using it.

What is the operating system for the IPAD MINI?

My operating system is Mac OS X 10.6.8 and when I'm surfing the web, it tells me I need to update my browser however when I check for updates, nothing comes up. What do I need to do to get Mac OS X Lion v10.7?

Software update will only bring you up to the current level of the system you are using - you are at the maximum for Snow Leopard. To get Lion or higher you will have to go to the Mac App Store in Applications and purchase it there (Yosemite is free). You will need to check that your Mac meets the requirements and you should particularly note that PPC programs such as AppleWorks will not run in Lion or above.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price (though it's reported to have been removed from sale in some countries so may well cease to be available generally) but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Yosemite (10.10.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Yosemite are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Yosemite is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications). Mountain Lion can be obtained the Online Apple Store. (Mavericks is no longer available.)
If the problem is only with Safari and you are otherwise happy with Snow Leopard you could switch to FireFox (free) - the latest version of that will run in Snow Leopard.
