Correct. it does not magially appear in other places. It will only be where you put it.

Correct as well. Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one. -
When my phone is not plugged into the charger or computer, it will not turn on at all; even though it is not dead. When it's plugged into the computer, it will go to a white screen with a grey apple icon and then it will turn off again and repeat. IOS7 and iPhone 5.

Try this step and if you cannot get your device into recovery mode there is a chance you have a hardware failure and you need to call apple to see what service options you have. -

I have a Iphone 4 gsm (8f190) and it will not connect to itunes and when i put it in recovery itunes will not work. It won't show up when plugged into the computer. Only charges when plugged in the wall or a car charger. I've tried everything imaginable but I can't get the phone to register in iTunes at all.. The phone won't even reset.. when i try and reset EVERYTHING on the phone the apple logo with the progress bar starts to come up but the progress never moves.. PLEASE help me.. I'm at my wits end with this phone and I'm ready to just trash it.

I was an apple beta tester for iOS7 and now my iPhone 5 shut down, it's unresponsive it gets recognized by iTunes when plugged into the computer but that's it. Since I was a beta tester is there any way to fix my iPhone??
Are you still running iOS 7 bet?. If so go to the private developer section for help. We cannot help you here with beta software.

Using an Applet to interface with the computer
h6. Situation
I am trying to build a an Applet, which will allow me to interface with a computer in the same way that a simple 'presentor' does. For clarification a 'presentor' is a piece of hardware that you plug into the computer and then use a radio device to move through the slides.
I cannot think how to do this, though I am sure that it is possible...its Java?! The only way i can kinda see it working is if the Applet emulates a piece of hardware...if that is the case then I think I might be out of my relms of programming. However I appreciate that what I am attempting to do flys in the face of Java in a sense at it runs and exists in a Virtual machine...but there has to be a way....If i can get an Applet to read and write a file on my operating system....then I must be able to get it to emulate a mouse click?

Basically I am trying to create a web based Remote Presenter. You know those bits of hardware were you plug the receiver into the PC and then have the hand held device that allows you to skip though slides.
I think that the need for a receiver dongle is pointless, extra stuff to carry around. I am trying to use my Nokia N95 device, with its build in webserver to create something a bit different.
So far I have been able to create an applet that I have signed, that has the ability to open a socket and wait. I have a very simple server app that sends data to that socket, either a 1 or a 0. When the applet receives this value, it performs a mouse click.....
I have now put this applet onto my N95 mobile web server which is basically a very simple apache webserver and I can access the page and download the applet. The next stage is to somehow create a program that can talk though my mobile phone to the applet......
Ultimately, when I give a lecture I will be able to just browse on the PC to the URL of my mobile web site (xxx.mymobilesite.net) and then run an application on my mobile to control the computer......
A lot of work for a simple power point controller...but with the possibility of more.... -
Using old power point plug with new computer
I have just bought a Macbook in new york and forgot to get an adapter from a USA(2 straight prongs) to UK (3 chunky prongs)power point. Can I slide off the powerpoint plug from the adapter on my 5 yr old ipod and put it onto the adapter for the new computer.?
If you are going to stay in Europe a while, you can also buy a plug with the right prongs at the Apple store. It fits right into the brick and becomes part of it like your US one does, and you can change them back and forth. They're a little pricey - I paid 35 Euros for a Central European plug - but to me it's better than the adapter because it sparks less and looks much better.

I had about 6000 pictures on my phone, then said "updating library" was not plugged into the computer, was at dinner trying to pull a picture up. After finished updating i only had 597 photos that were totally random, not in order...help?!
hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

Ipod "Click" sound when plug into the Computer
Hi All,
My Ipod harddrive clicked periodically when plugged into the computer which never happen before. I can hear the harddrive spin sound but periodically sound clicked in the harddrive.
Just wondering if anyone experienced this problem before?
Any suggestion how to fixed it? Is the warranty cover this kind of problem as well?

We cannot get our iPad Air to charge. We have tried the wall plug and the computer plug in. It just gives a message saying it's not charging.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). There is a hardware problem. Whether it's worth it to you to have no working phone for 2 months until you can update vs paying for replacement/repair now is a question only you can answer.
