IPad Air won't charge with ipad made adapters but only with iPhone's
My ipad air won't charge with any ipad made adapters! but will charge with my iPhone adapter. Oh and I bought my charger and adapter for my iPhone (that I now use for my iPad Air) at a store that doesn't relate to the officials apple store for only 12 dollars sadly when I charge my iPad Air
TTo let you know, my ipad adapter would always get hot so is it a problem with my ipad or adaptermy ipad adapter would always get hot so is it a problem with my ipad or adapter
Since your iPad charges with the phone adapter, the iPad adapter (that is made by who knows) is the problem. You tried to save a few dollars and it did not work. Get a real Apple adapter and your problems will go away. -
My iPad air won't charge. I am using the cable suppied. It shows the charging icon for a split second then says not charging. I have tried re starting and nothing changes.
Z zoozx ,
How could Microsoft come up in a forum about an Apple problem? We have heard for years how superior Apple products are but we've never had as many headaches and problems with our Windows PCs over the years as we have with the Apple devices we now have. My wife has the most recent iPad and my son has the most recent ipod Touch. Earlier problems notwithstanding, the iOS 7 upgrade was horrible and hard to imagine for a device where the company controls all of the hardware and the software with no variants. As for Microsoft, I can say I have programmed on many various platforms from PolyForth to Unix to Windows and .NET. I think what many Apple users don't understand about Windows is the sheer magnitude of variables in making the software and all upgrades work for such a myriad array of hardware platforms and usage scenarios across an enormous number of partners and small to large enterprises. Anyone who has worked with a large integrated system can get a sense of this. I work in healthcare and our HIS system is rated #1 in it's class (built on a derivitive of an old MIT OS) but due to it's vast integration capabilities and the variety of usage and setup variables from site to site, it requires daily dilligence in error reporting and resolution across all of it's applicaitons. Microsoft Windows works and integrates with a massive number of other Microsoft client and server solutions that are used by the vast majority of enterprises in the world. It's no small feat to keep the Microsoft software stack in good working order. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion but I wish we could past this ABM mentality that pervades online forums. I'm not sure if you've noticed but the Apple forums are jam packed with folks like yourself and me having problems with Apple hardware or software so I'm not sure where we can say one is better than the other, even if you could carve out some realistic benchmarks from which we could compare them on an even playing field.
With all the said, and I apologize but feel that the Anti MS anecdotes belong left long in the past, but any ideas on how we can get the supplied power cables to charge the devices they came with? I don't believe I've ever encountered a problem at the power cable level like this in which 2 cables are not working on 2 different devices. I think it points to software problems but as someone else mentioned about display settings, I'm not sure how your display settings affect the charging of a device in a non display mode. Would that suggest the thunderbolt cables are not capable of delivering enough charge to keep up with idle power consumption? -

My iPad Air will not charge. I have used its original charge cord, and a second Apple lightning cord. I have used the original charger and others that I have confirmed do work. It charged yesterday, no problem.
Before going to the Apple store carefully examine the lightning port to make sure no fuzz or other foreign stuff has gotten in there. There are not that many things that can prevent an iPad from charging. You've tried a different cable, different charger and hopefully the reset suggested by Barry in the previous post. Check for debris and if the port is clear Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

HT1665 lightening to 30-pin Adapter charges my Ipad Air VERY slowly; why is that?
I purchased an Apple, Lightning to 30-pin Adapter, to convert my current charger, to one that will charge my Ipad Air. When I try to charge my Ipad Air, using this Adapter, it does charge, but at a VERY slow pace! Is that normal, or is something wrong with it?

How slow is "VERY slow?" -
how can I find the Image number of a particular photo in the Photos app included with iPad Air?
Hello yamacutta,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
The Photos app will not show you the actual file name of the photo. However when you go through the image import process on your computer, you should be able to see both the thumbnail of the photo, as well as the filename of the image.

My iPad air will not charge connected to my monitor or my computer. Why?
My iPad air will not charge connected to my monitor or my computer. Why?
Short answer: Computer USB ports don't deliver as much power as the power adapter that comes with the iPad.
Details:
Full size iPads come with either a 10W or 12W power adapter. The mini comes with a 5W power adapter.
See iPhone, iPad, iPod: Using iPad Power Adapters
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4327
USB ports on computers deliver 2.5W (USB 2, 500mA x 5v) or 4.5W (USB 3, 900mA x 5v).
Newer Macs with high power ports can deliver 5.5W (1100mA x 5v).
See Apple Computers and Displays: Powering peripherals through USB
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4049
If you connect your (full size) iPad to a computer USB port, it may charge slowly, but since it's getting less than half the normal charging power, it may say "not charging". It may charge slowly or it may not depending on use (screen brightness, processor load, etc.). If you really want to charge it from the computer, put the iPad to sleep.
The best charging solution is to use the Power Adapter that came with the iPad. -

Pocket projector compatible with ipad air
What pocket projector works with iPad Air? Will the 30 pin adapter work with currently available projectors?
I dont see why any projector won't work as long as you have the adapter for it. Aaxa's pico projectors are said to to work fine with apple products as well as others like acer and optoma. Depends what you plan on using it for that should really matter these days. They should all work fine and things to think about are the features each projector has like onboard media player, USB or SD readers, Lumens, and most of all price.
But as a suggestion get the brightest you can afford you don't want to be stuck squinting cuz you can't see the deng thing. LOL -
How to turn off the itunes sinck with ipad air?
Apple don't do trade-ins. You might find other stores that do, but you are likely to get a higher value for your current iPad by selling it privately instead of looking for a store that does trade-ins.

Using the original charger, my ipad air says it is not certified and wont charge
using my original charger, my ipad air wont charge. it says the charger is not certified and may not work. it charges my iphone but wont work on the ipad
I've the same issue with my new Ipad Air and using the original charger.
It starts to charges then after a while it stops and issue the incompatible charger msg. Then I unplug and plug again and it starts charging again.
Know the trick thing is, I've exchange the chargers from my other IPad mini and none of the ipads gave any charging issue, they charged till full.
I see no logic on this. -
Does Magic Mouse work with ipad air?
Does Magic Mouse work with IPad Air?
Yes, it is a Bluetooth device. However, my iPad will not connect to the mouse. Not sure why.
I use my iPad as my personal computer. Mainly for surfing the web, social media, paying bills online... I already have a Bluetooth keyboard that connects to the iPad, so thought it would be nice to have a mouse. -
HT5172 iPad Air will not charge on my computer
iPad Air will not charge when I plug it into the USB port . Operating system vista.
That's normal. Most USB ports don't put out enough power to meet the iPad's requirements. It may say not charging although it is getting a trickle charge.
Your iPad is best charged with its supplied power brick plugged into the wall.
