there are sooo many problems while running in windows vista home basic..

the computer gets really **** hot after several minutes and the fans just never kick in at all...
second..
the system is soo unstable, is it because of the high temperature?
what all of these about??
is there any problem with my drivers or anything?
i thought apple says that windows will work perfectly in bootcamp..

Essentially all you have done here is create a list of complaints without really providing a lot of information about your problems. Maybe if you gave us some specifics we could help. And to answer one of your questions: yes, you can have windows running absolutely fine in BootCamp. My Vista copy works fine without an problems and it is quite fast. I've actually never had a Blue Screen with it. It is true that macs as a rule use fewer system resources and so will probably be faster for some basic tasks, but it shouldn't be too a point where you notice much of a difference.
Now for that memory problem you described. How much RAM does your computer have. Vista uses a lot of RAM and if you run a lot of applications at once in Vista, you might be overloading your RAM.

I did not leave anything out from the error message. It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..." Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue? I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse. I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs. Cannot do wifi sync after update IOS 6 using windows vista pc with itunes 10.7

I cannot do the wifi sync,I am using IPAD 3 with IOS 6.I heard people said to do synchronous wireless.It would work I using Windows Vista,then I using Itunes 10.7.Somebody can help me to solve these problem or give me feedback to solve these problem.

Like many others, most of the the workarounds I tried worked but for awhile only and/or not reliably. After more googling and trial and error, I finally ended up with a somewhat reliable solution using the below 2 changes. (I am running up-to-date Win7 with an Ipad2 and an Iphone5 both on ios 6 + and up-to-date Itunes software on the PC).
1) Disable IPv6 on the wireless adapter (see CKNairb's earlier post)
2) Create a bat file which stops and starts the "Apple Mobile Device" service, then starts Itunes
The bat file can be placed in any dir and a desktop shortcut created to point to it in order to easily start Itunes (right-clicking properties of the shortcut and clicking "Change Icon" will even allow the selection of the Itunes icon to make it look just right :-) )
The bat file should contain these lines:
net stop "Apple Mobile Device"
net start "Apple Mobile Device"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe"
Edit accordingly as to whether your Itunes.exe resides in \Program (x86) or \Program.
By starting Itunes using this shortcut/bat file, you will ensure that the Mobile Device service is up and running when Itunes attempts to locate the devices wirelessly - this seems to be the key issue here.
Although it is not 100% reliable, I would say that both devices are detected and synced 90% of the time. (Itunes will always find one of the 2 devices).
Anyways, based on all I have gone through to get this work, I am willing to settle for "almost reliable" solution - hopefully this may work for others as well.

Oracle on Linux VMware kit using Window Vista

I am trying to install Linux VMware kit(RAC) on window vista home edition OS. It failed with compatibility error.
I changed setup.bat and universal installer file property to use "Windows XP SP 2". I am able to install first DVD when it ask for second DVD. It does not move further and keep asking to put second DVD. I have downloaded first and second DVD content. I trying from stage location but it is not working for second one.

You don't have to use Oracle Installer to install the environment. I already successfully installed just by unzipping the virtual machine components (*.vmx, *.vmdk, etc.).
You can keep your vmware installation or install it yourself independently of Oracle Installer.
Just make sure to set up networking as explained in the documenation:

Can I upgrade Vista Home Basic to Vista Business using Boot Camp & Fusion

I have installed Vista Home Basic 32-bit through Boot Camp partition and am running this through Fusion 1.1. I need Fusion's capability of running Windows at the same time as my Leopard. Presently, this OS is running smoothly as are my peripherals, including my LAN networked printer. However,
I am told by VMware Fusion email tech support that they do not support Vista Home Basic. They would support a number of other Windows OSs including Vista Business which I can readily afford, or Vista Ultimate which would be much more difficult monetarily.
I am concerned that I will need Fusion's tech support in the future and thus am willing to do the upgrade to Vista Business or Ultimate if I have to. I have been informed that Home Basic is FAT32 but Business is NTFS; that FAT32 is Apple readable and writable, but NTFS is only readable. I am a newbie and don't know what that means.
It appears from what I can understand on MS Windows support forum topics that Ultimate is more compatible with Home Basic. Could someone with technical expertise please help advise which way is best to go with this, and if I have to, which upgrade to choose; and, how to go about installing without messing up what is already working.
I'd really appreciate help with this as I have over a month trying to get this right and have had to communicate with tech support of various companies, do several complete deletions of partitions and reinstalls of various OSs and other software needed to accommodate my PC needs. My frustration level is really high at this point. Thanks to whomever is wiling to help this struggling newbie.

I use Apple OS capable Word to create documents, but often need data from a PC-only CD that was loaded on my Toshiba laptop for these documents which I share with others via email attachment sometimes from PC side and sometimes from Apple side depending on whether I still have things to add to the file and of course need to print from PC side also. That's why Fusion's side-by-side and drag and drop capabilities are perfect for me (I actually used to try to email the document to myself and go to my Toshiba to retrieve it, complete the document and email back, but MS Outlook often failed to operate.) I also receive from a friend, sound files created in PC format that I previously used Roxio to burn to CD. (Haven't gotten this running yet, apparently info I saw online about which Roxio v. would work with VHome Basic was wrong).
When I am traveling and away for 2-3 weeks, I need to have everything on one laptop so I gave up my iMac w/Tiger v10.4, which I loved, for a new Macbook Pro to get the duo core, with a 23" Cinema Display. After reading Apple discussion forum and talking to Apple Sales, decided to get Fusion to run both OS simultaneously (this part works beautifully). I need to be able to print from the PCVM (which I've finally resolved).
RE XP: In my conversations with Fusion tech supp. I was given instructions to load my XP Pro directly in VM w/o Boot Camp, telling me BC was unnecessary because Fusion could do partitioning and everything else necessary, so I scrapped everything and tried to do a new install, but their detailed instructions wouldn't allow installation. When I emailed them of the problem, they didn't reply. I really needed to get my PCVM up and running so went back to scrubbing everything and beginning again using Boot Camp and Vista Home. If there is a way to use use my XP upgrade with or without BC, I'd be happy to, but don't know how to go about it. I ordered Vista Bus. full on a special promo online for $127 but it hasn't arrived yet, so I believe I could return it if I don't need it. Will I need to scrap everything again and start over, or can I install the XP Pro upgrade with where I am now? Will the Vista capable application software be able to work with XP? How do I check whether my current partition is NTFS? What is MacFUSE, do I need it, and if so where can I get it? Is it expensive? I've really over-extended having to purchase things I believed I needed to proceed.
I also have a Seagate 500 firewire for backing up my Leopard using Time Machine. Boot Camp partitioned the 500 for Leopard and PC using FAT32, but Seagate TS tells me that I can't use both OSs and that's why I can't see the PC partition in the Fusion desk top. Fusion TS tells me that I can't use FAT32 to back up Vista. Stymied again! So, I just found a Seagate 300 Free Agent to back up the PC side if I need to I have 13 days to decide.

You asked what I meant about saving the installer on your PC.
When you go to the iTunes download page:

And click on download, you should be offered the choice of running the installer or saving it. You need to click on save and then choose a folder on you PC where you want it saved. But I think you already did that.
After the installer file - iTunessetup.exe - is save on your computer, you double click on it to run it.
It's very odd that the installer fails at different stages. usually when the installation fails, it is at a specific stage and usually generates an error message.
I am afraid I am mystified. Have you had any other problems with your PC which might suggest a general problem not specific to iTunes?
The only other suggestion I have is to download a fresh copy of the installer - in case it got corrupted. You could also try using "run as administrator" to run the installer. It should be an option if you right click on the installer file.
The other thing it might be worth trying is to install it from another account, but you would need to create another administrator account if you don't a;ready have one. Or if you have another account that is not an admin account, you can temporarily promote it from the control panel>>User accounts.

How do I use Windows Vista with Lion?

Hi - I wonder if you can help. I want to use a copy of Windows Vista I have through Bootcamp but have recently upgraded to OS X Lion.
I understand Snow Leopard supported Vista and if I had installed Vista prior to upgrading it would continue to work even though I was running Lion - however having upgraded to Lion I now cannot install Vista thtough Bootcamp as the Windows Support Software for Lion only supports Windows 7 (and I don't want to spend the money for that!).
So my question is - can I reinstall Snow Leopard, install Vista on a Bootcamp partition and then reinstall Lion without having to pay for it again? Will reinstalling Snow Leopard destroy the Lion recovery partition? Or can I simply go back into the App Store and redownload Lion from my account as I have paid for it already and not having the recovery partition therefore doesn't matter?

I don't see that you can't just partition with BCA 4.01 and not install, then get out Vista (again?) and use your 10.6 DVD. You can still use Boot Camp 3.0->3.2.

When I have the photo onscreen, the only options presented to me under File are Delete, Rename, Make copy, Copy and Properties. It does not give Save as an option. Not sure how to save for web. When I go to Properties, it will not let me change the values at all. I have tried free downloads for image resizing, but so far I have only found where they would allow me to enter lower pixel values, but not increase them. For example, one image is now 960 pi/in X 640 pi/in. I need to double the 960 to be 1920, and so I assume I need to also double the 640 to 1280. But I have not found how to do that. I am very inexperienced in any type of photoshopping, so I'm not terribly surprised to be running into problems, or even understanding what the problems are that I'm having. Any other advice?
