Hi all,
just a short, but Time Machine already saved my a** twice. Once in recovering a single, i already mentioned lost, just short before i remembered "uuh lets try this Time Machine thing", and a "hole in one" in restoring my complete system yesterday ("blame it to Leopard").
Conclusion: It. Just. Worked (for me).

Have you tried it in "Safe Mode" - F10 > Help > Restart with addons disabled?
When I enter "about:customizing" it takes me to the same customising view as does using right-mouseclick on a non-active part of the main toolbar.
Another gotcha might be that at the bottom-left there is a drop down list where menus can have their visibility set. It's possible for some buttons to be hidden because these menus are set "off". Just for when you do find your customise page ...

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

What can i do when my ipad2 batery duration is 8h max?
It has a low usage of 1week and half.
Everywere i look i see and hear advertising 10 to 12hours usage...

If that is all that you are doing on the iPad - yes I agree that you should be getting a couple of more hours out of a full 100% charge of the battery.
Are you charging the battery every night to its full capacity? The 10 hours of use is based on having the full charge.
When you are using the Internet, do you stream a lot of video content? That kind of Internet use will drain a bit more of the battery that just basic web surfing - at least I think that it will.
Have you tried restarting the iPad and then fully charge the battery overnight and then see how many hours of life the battery gives you?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the buttons.
Finally, and I'm not totally sure about this because I have a wifi only iPad, but I think that you can turn 3G off in your settings. Even though you may not be using 3G to connect to the Internet, maybe it is still looking for a signal if it is turned on. I really don't know how 3G works this way - its just a theory.

hello... last week i bougth an airport extreme in the United States... and i bring here to Colombia... yesterday i installed the airport... it works great just for 12 hours... then it turn it off... and it does't work... i have to disconect the airport power... and wait for 10 minutes ... then i connect again and the airport works just for 15 minutes .. and then turn off again... i dont know if the hardware is bad.. or the adapter... can you help me with that??

I haven't had it for very long, but it is definately out of warranty period (not that apple covers water damage anyway).
Apple warranty is 1 year and iPhone 5S has not been released for 1 year.
However, dropping it in the sink has voided the remainng warranty.
You can get a replacement fro $269 (U.S.) at an Apple store.

Search is not working for subsites

hello,
SharePoint search is not working for any of the subsites and it is just working for top level site. I can see that all the subsites is visible in search. Any idea?
interesting thing is, it is not working just for one site collection subsites. If i do search in subsites of another site collection of the same web application than it is working fine and it is working fine for all ohter web apps too.

I agree with Chris, please check following in your sub site: http://site_name/subsite_name
1. Click on Site Actions -> Site Settings ->Modify All Site Settings
2. Click on Search visibility.
3. Check All this web to appear in search results.
4. Browse to the document library or list in your sub site.
5. Click on Settings->Document Library Settings or list settings.
6. Click on Advance settings.
7. Check the last item - All items from this document library to appear in search results.

Well, it seems waiting is not my strong suit..! I renamed a javascript file called recovery to sessionstore. This file was in the folder sessionstore-backups I had copied from mozilla 3 days ago, when my tabs were still in place. I replaced the sessionstore in mozilla's default folder with the renamed file and then started mozilla. And the tabs reappeared as they were 3 days ago!
So there goes the tab problem. But again when I started mozilla the window saying "a script has stopped responding" appeared, this time the script being: chrome//browser/contenttabbrowser.xml2542
If someone knows how to fix this and make firefox launch normally, please reply! Thank you

I wrote the below procedure to be executed via APEX (inside the APEX_PLSQL_JOB.SUBMIT_PROCESS wrapper).
It works fine, but I'm not a programmer per se and am just curious if one of the veterans on this forum could review it
and just tell me if it looks like I followed proper standards/procedures etc. or make any suggestions on how I can be more efficient etc.
The purpose of the procedure is to update Oracle Applications translations tables with language-translated values that we have
accumulated from our global workforce. It's pretty simple - just a big find and replace exercise - replacing english values in the apps
tables with translated values. Oracle's '_TL' tables are designed for this purpose and I'm not updating any primary or foriegn keys.
I don't know the exact update statement or instance at the time of execution and hence the need for dynamic SQL and a DB link.
Again, there are no issues (yet) - everything is working fine, I'm just interested in having someone review it and offer me some feedback.

end;The one thing I need to do is to get a status of the number of rows processed and updated so I can report back to APEX realtime with a jquery counter plugin that I'm using. That was the reason I was inserting records into a dummy table (gse_update_tracking) before. It worked ok but I realize it was a clumsy approach. I'm not to sure how to accomplish that since I don't think I can access sql%rowcount while the loop is running. Is that correct and if so, are there any other options?
I know I still need to deal with my exception handling and I would like to use the DML error logging if at all possible.
Overall though I feel like it's much cleaner and more manageable. Hopefully it's looking better?

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

I have a HP LaserJet 5 printer (that's what it says on the front), and at one point, I believe that I bought the memory module that adds PostScript handling, which at the time I think made the printer equivalent to a LaserJet 5M. Anyway, I recently discovered that I can no longer print duplex pages (the printer has the duplexer attached, and it works when printing from my Windows machine). I'm not 100% sure that this started when I upgraded to Leopard, but this is probably the case. I went to HP's website, and went to the driver download area and for the "LaserJet 5/m/n Printer Series", there was a driver called "HP LaserJet and Edgeline Print Driver Only for Mac OS X 10.5". The version of this driver was listed as 7.8.761 with a date of 28 Jan 2008. Feeling that I had found the problem, I downloaded this driver (it was an install package), and installed it. Prior to installation, I deleted my LaserJet from my list of installed printers. After installation, I reinstalled it (it is an IP printer, with a JetDirect card in it), but the duplexing problem remains. But checking the printer driver information in System Preferences, it shows the driver version as 4.3.1.094, and not the version 7.8.761 that was reported on HP's website for the driver that I just downloaded. When I select "Select a driver to use..." from the Driver tab of the info panel for my LaserJet, I see the following candidate printer drivers listed:
HP LaserJet 5 - Gutenprint v5.1.3
HP LaserJet 5 series - CUPs+ Gimp-Print v4.2.7
HP LaserJet 5 series - Gimp-Print v5.0.0-beta2
HP LaserJet 5M

It doesn't seem to me that any of these drivers are the one that was supposedly installed by the HP software that I downloaded. I'm hoping that someone here has been through this situation and has figured out how to get duplexing to work for this printer. Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, I have checked ALL settings, restored and tried even the "illegal" things that could possibly fix it, it has left me with nothing but headaches and disappointment because I'm either faced with more errors. I feel I'm suck with this error that Apple is using us to update to a newer more expensive phone.
So Razmee, what kind of phone do you have and are you on an AT&T contract? Are you on iOS 6?
