It keep trying to make me update Firefox, what do I do?

Everytime I go on Firefox I will be doing whatever, then a new tab pops up saying, Please Update Browser at the top. It says "You are currently browsing the web with Firefox and your Video Player might be outdated. Please update to the latest version for better performance" then it has a whole bunch of Legal Information and I just close the tab, but it pops up about every 5 mins. and if I leave my computer with Fire Fox running it will pop up like, 10 of these tabs. I really get annoyed when I am working and it pops up, but I went into the Firefox>Help>About Firefox and it says I am up to date. Can someone help me find out if this is real, or is it just trying to get me to download Malware? And if it is just a pop up can someone tell me how to get rid of it? It's either that or I go back to Google Chrome.

  • I keep being told I must update Firefox, but all I get is a window which says connecting, and a blue thing moving across, which doesn't go away. What should I do ?

I keep getting a request to update Firefox, but when I click on it I get a window, which says it's "connecting" with a blue line moving across a box, but it seems to go no further, even after 30 minutes. What should I do ?

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Hello I am just wondering why there is a message of error 1004 when i tryed to make the update on my apps. Does someone know what it means?

Yes, many know what this means.  You can too.  Just type in "error 1004" in the search box at the top of this page.  Or, just look to the right.  You'll find many links in the "More Like This" box.
Always good forum etiquette to search for previous posts on the topic before posting.

I cloud will not accept my apple id and password on my laptop. I have changed the password twice trying to make it work. What to do now?

IF your imessage is saying waiting for activation then do this:
backup your phone to itunes or icloud.
then on your phone go to settings - general - reset - erase all contents and settings - this will wipe your phone clean.
once the process is done, you can restore from the backup you made, then you should be able to activate your imessage.

  • CS5 Update Manager keeps trying to install old updates

Yesterday I installed CS5 Master Collection on a replacement computer and used "Check for Updates" in Photoshop to download and install the latest versions. That went fine, but only updated Photoshop to 12.0.4 and Illustrator to 15.0.2. I manually downloaded and installed the PS 12.0.5 and AI 15.0.3 updates and all went well (or so I thought) - PS reports 12.0.5 and Illustrator reports 15.0.3 in their "About" dialogs.
Tonight I found an Adobe Update icon in my tray and clicked it. It tells me it wants to install PS 12.0.4 and AI 15.0.2 (one patch level back on each). I let it run, figuring it would notice that everything was up-to-date. It didn't - it downloaded and tried to install those updates, reporting Update Failed for both. If I check for updates again, I am again offered those two updates.
I found this old thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/714043 which discusses a similar issue with Dreamweaver. I tried deleting the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0 folder and rebooting as shown in that thread, and it didn't fix the problem - the update manager keeps trying to download and install un-needed and out-of-date updates.
How do I get Update Manager to understand that these updates have already been applied? I don't want to simply disable update checks for these products, as I'll miss any future updates. And I'd rather not deactivate and uninstall all of CS5 Master Collection and reinstall if I don't have to - that seems like using a sledgehammer to squash a mosquito.

I don't want to simply disable update checks for these products, as I'll miss any future updates.
There won't be any. CS5 is now 2.5 years old and nobody goes back to support such old versions anymore when CS7 is knocking on the door. Even the .3 update was only done after heavily misinformed public outcries over that alleged major security whole with certain file types which was an utter non-issue for 90% of the users, anyway....

  • Since updating Firefox what use to take me 30 minutes to do now takes almost 2 hours to do, it is slow and sluggish, what can I do to speed things up?

Had no problem with Firefox, when I upgraded to Firefox4, things started to be extremely sluggish and slow. Tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, however, that really messed things up, could not start computer. After finally getting it to work again, things just work so slow and sluggish. What can I do to get it working as it did before?

You can upgrade your iMac's memory to as much as 6 GB. I recommend you get all you can afford. The 1 GB you have is not an abundant amount.
Purchase memory from Crucial or OWC / MacSales. Memory from other sources has been known to be unreliable. Installing it yourself is simple.
I want to add an external hard drive to save my work, and plan to use Time Machine; I do have Firewire. However since my system is a 10.5.8, will everything still work after I upgrade the operating systems, and is there a best way to do that? I want to start with the right external hard drive.
That's a good idea. All you need to do to make Time Machine work is to purchase an external hard disk drive and plug it in. Time Machine pretty much does the rest.
FireWire is preferable but USB is OK. Find an external hard disk of at least twice the capacity as your existing internal hard disk. OWC sells a large variety of external HDs.
Memory at 10 items 165.97GB available. What does this mean?
That is not memory, it is the amount of available storage remaining on your iMac's hard disk. 166 GB is a lot.

  • HT5030 I have encountered error 3529 when I tried to download the updates.  What is wrong?

I have encountered "error 3529" when I tried to download the updates, what is error 3529?

Okay, so I Right Click and nothing says "Link Media".
When I double click on an asset it says, "the selected file cannot be linked because it has 2 audio channel(s) and the clip was created with 1 audio channel(s)."
However 1 video clip asset does open in CS4.
The "Lesson One" project itself says, "file format not supported." still.

  • I have Firefox for U3 and lately it keeps trying to instal an update, which fails and a 2nd window tells me another copy of F'fox is running (which isn't) and when I close the window F'fox starts anyway, but all this takes a lot of time.

I have Firefox for U3 on my Verbatim stick to run on whatever computer I happen to be using. Lately every time I try to open F'fox a window comes up saying "Firefox is installing your updates and will start in a few moments." The status bar indicates the update is progressing, 'though a bit slowly, then suddenly it's done and the window disappears, only to be followed by another window coming up which says "The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on you computer and then re-start Firefox to try again."
If I press the 'OK' button OR press the Close button, the window disappears, but then F'fox starts up all by itself anyway.
How can I stop this updating problem happening every time and on every computer I use.

    Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
Try to toggle some Boolean gfx.font_rendering prefs on the about:config page to disable some features.
    Filter: gfx
    Some to try:
    * set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true to disable Direct2D
    * set gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading to false.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

  • Blogspot - pictures loading problem. After I load some pictures for a post in my blog, the others I want to load won't show/load, and I have to keep trying, or to close the Firefox, restore session and continue.

Well... I use Firefox daily, I love it. But this bug is a killer. I guess it has something to do with the cache of the program or something, since most of the time I can load from 3 to 5 pictures, and after that all I load becomes grey. Sometimes there are pics who will show in that window, but even if I click on them, select them, they won't load in my text window (blog text).
And all the pictures are from my hard disk.
Same thing is happening with the youtube videos. Sometime they are loading properly, by clicking on them, sometime they are selected, but I can't put them in the post, so I have to try and try again, or close/reopen the browser.

If you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • I have tried several times to update firefox when requested to do so and each time after down loading and installing I get a message that installation was unsuccessful because I am not authorize to use certain features or words to that effect.

Latest was email from Aol that they recommend downloading a special version of firefox (firefox 8) that's designed to work with aol. I downloaded file and everything worked until I reached the time you drag the firefox icon to implement the new file. Then I get this message unsuccessful because I am not authorize to access all of the features.

  • I updated to windows 8.1. Now acrobat writer does not work anymore even after repair. I am getting an activation error when trying to make a pdf. What should I do?

Can somebody help. A phone number to contact acrobat writer support? I paid for the program and it worked perfectly until I updated form windows 8 to windows 8.1.
I am getting the error"not allowed to use the software, I think license issue or something like that even though I paid for it".

    Hi sergeguzy,
Which Acrobat version are you using?
By saying Acrobat writer, do you mean Adobe PDF printer in Acrobat or PDFMaker in Office products?
Also, you might try repairing Acrobat from the Help menu.
    Hope to hear from you.
    Regards,
    Anubha

  • Tabs are not working. When I click to open a new tab, no new tab comes up. Tried restarting computer and updating Firefox, this didnt' help.

Tabs will not open when I click to open one. I've been shuffling back and forth between two separate Firefox windows - it really sucks. Please help!

Caused by the Ask Toolbar extension in Firefox 3.6.13 and above, disable that extension or un-install it.

  • TS1424 I keep trying to make purchase on my games but it keeps telling me that it can't complete punches, cant connect to itunes store, connection error.... This is an continues issue I'm having. Why?

I have 2 iPads and on my way of getting another, I use the same iTunes account for them both is that an issue? If yes! Why?

This forum is for questions about Apple Remote Desktop, Apple's software for managing networked Mac systems, and hence not the best place for your question. I'd suggest asking in the iTunes for Windows forum.
Note, however, that iTunes has never been supported on the 64-bit version of Windows XP, so you're on your own to attempt to get it working.
    Regards.
