It keeps asking for a password and when i put it in it tells me im wrong.
I know its the right one because its the same one i use for everything. The account works perfectly on my phone.. its just started playing up on my laptop.

Where did you get the password that you are trying? What does it look like? (Length, type of characters)

'kay, I don't know what's wrong, but I have a couple of theories: 1) I sent a whole whack of pictures to my email account "[email protected]" (I'm using a different email to contact you since I can't get through on my main email). My guess is all the issues are probably related and fall back to malware.
AVG is probably correct in identifying malware. So I suggest you try some cleaning tools other than Emsisoft .
ones I use (all of them one after the other until I find one that can cope) are;

So first create a clean boot in Windows using Microsoft's instructions https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135?wa=wsignin1.0 and then run the anti malware applications.
My outside looking in guess is that malware has set itself up as an internet proxy and is is downloading copies of itself and other malware, blocking some mail port as times as downloading more malware is more important, and probably breaking your tivo as well..
Try the malware programs first. If that does not work I will try and talk you through some logging to see what is happening. -
How come now every time i throw something into the recycle bin it asks for my password and when I do it doesn't show in my bin help please!
You're throwing away files that either don't belong to you or are in a folder that doesn't belong to you. Since your user account has Administrator privileges, it just ask you for authentication, else it would forbid the operation.
To better understand the concept, select one of your files from your home directory and press Control-I. In the info window, check the Sharing & Permissions section at the bottom. Do the same with one of the files that asks for the password. -
i used time machine to reinstall all products on a new imac machine. everything seems to be installed but when i open aperture it asks for my serial # and when i put it in it says that is your upgrade serial.. we want the original serial #. that box is long gone, how do i find that serial #

Hi, My network went down earlier in the week. Now the network is fine, I can connect through the ethernet cable, but my macbook airport no longer detects it, when prompted, macbook will find it, but I get asked for the WAP. When I put the password in, it 'times out'. Prior to the network problem my macbook worked fine everytime. Anyone know the answer?

I am unable to receive my email because of a box that keeps coming up requesting a password, and when I put in my password, it says it is incorrect! I do not have my email set up to ask for a password. I am able to send emails, but not able to receive them??? My email still works on my iphone and my ipad, but I need it on my macbook Pro!
To my knowledge there is NO email provider that allows anyone to get or send emails without a password on the account.
Try Thunderbird as an email client, dumb Apple/Mac Mail. -
I'm trying to change my payment information, yet everyime it asks for my password, I'll enter it but it just keeps asking? whenever I try to download firefox beta on my laptop it asks for an adminstrator password but when i put it in it says wrong user " name or password" so I try to by pass that by trying to download as user but then nothing happens the dialog box disappears and I have to start the download all over again. I'm trying to sync firefox with my android phone but I can't get the desktop/laptop version going.
Since installing Windows 7 there have been some weird goings on with my laptop.
I kept muddling around with this and ran a few diagnostics only to find that everything was fine. There was an incompatibility problem with Windows 7 and Firefox (safe mode) which I cared for by simply agreeing with everything Windows 7 wanted to do. It made an adjustment and apparently between the two programs they worked it out.
I tried downloading Firefox 4 beta one more time...using a fresh download in my Firefox browser and from the Firefox webpage. Oddly, this time the program downloaded saved itself to my laptop. I was able to open and install it without incident.
Now, I am all sync'd up!

Yahoo Mail: on Mac Pro (keeps asking for my password and then doesn't work)
I have used Yahoo Mail through my Mac Pro Mail Account for years and enjoyed fine service.
For the last few months, the Mac Mail says I have the wrong password, and it won't allow me to access
mail.
If I change the password, it will work for a while (days) and the cycle starts all over again.
Sometimes, I stop using Mac Mail and use Yahoo off the web, and then suddenly Mac Mail will start working
on its own again.
I read a thread for earlier in the year and tried every single thing suggested - this still happens
I have used Yahoo mail for 22 years - but maybe it is time to switch?
Gmail never has this problem...but I use the Yahoo mail for my business, my friends, and groups.

PS: My Yahoo email ALWAYS 100% of the time works on my iphone, and ipad...this only happens on my Mac Pro.You don't have a Mac Pro (*65lb tower) but a notebook.

you may have to rebuild mail index or see if you can export, (re)move the existing mail folder and setup a new one and import old mail. Mail does and can have its issues for sure.

I just got a new ipad air...it's telling me to connect to a network...I've chosen my home network, which requires a password...I put the password in, but there is no button to press to accept the password. Can someone help me get past this roadblock?

I restored my ipod to its orginal settings and checked for it to be backed up. When it was done restoring i tried backing it up and it said to enter the password. I didn't know if it was my itunes password or what so i entered several and it said they were all wrong. So which password is it?
Is this the error message that you see?
"Disk cannot be read from or written to" error syncing iPod in iTunes.
If nothing else works, you could try a format of the iPod in Windows. A full format does a check and remap of bad sectors on the iPod hard drive, and you would need to restore the iPod as normal (using the iPod updater) afterward. This can also work when the iPod is recognized by the computer, but not by the updater. It's usually a last ditch troubleshooting effort.
First, put the iPod into forced disk mode.
See: How to put the iPod into disk mode.
On your PC, go "my computer" and right click on the iPod, then choose "format". Ensure the settings are at "default" and that "quick format" is not checked. Now select "format". It will take a while, but when that's finished, restore the iPod using the updater.
If you need to, reset the iPod to exit disk mode. -
Just uploaded latest ios to my ipad2 and iphone 4s and my hotmail account keeps asking for my password. When i input it, it tells me its wrong. Hotmail was working fine till ios upgrade. Any ideas? I have deleted account username and password and reinput but no difference
Try deleting the yahoo email account, and then recreate the account so you are sure all the information is now correct. I have had email information get corrupted for unknown reasons and found just removing and recreating the account to resolve the issues most of the time.
Check the ports, incoming and outgoing, on your iDevices to be sure the same are used on the iMac. -
My battery was not working properly (kept running out over a few hours.) I was advised at the apple store to restore my iphone which i did. When i try to restore it to my back up it keeps asking for a password but i have no idea what this password is? could anyone help?
If your backup is encrypted, you cannot restore without the password.
You can continue to backup but you cannot restore without password.
There's no way to retrieve the password.
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
