It keeps jumping to the next song

My ipod touch sometimes just keeps jumping to the next song again and again, then returning to normal. Is this a setting problem?

Not necessarily. You could try a format of the iPod in Windows. A full format does a check and remap of bad sectors on the iPod hard drive, and you would need to restore the iPod as normal (using the iPod updater) afterward. This can also work when the iPod is recognized by the computer, but not by the updater.
First, put the iPod into forced disk mode.
See: How to put the iPod into disk mode.
On your PC, go "my computer" and right click on the iPod, then choose "format". Ensure the settings are at "default" and that "quick format" is not checked. Now select "format". It will take a while, but when that's finished, restore the iPod using the updater.

It happens randomly. I can be listening to a song, it finishes and then theres no sound. The track doesn't actually start at all. When i say skips i dont mean is in the middle of the song and jumps. I mean the ipod switches to the next track.
Format - All my songs have been ripped from CD's or downloaded from I-Tunes. I cant find the file type, sorry.
I had a look on the link but the symptoms dont link to mine. It happens randomly, not when im cycling or moving the divece nescessarily.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Go to SETTINGS - IPOD - and turn off "Shake to Shuffle"...

Itunes will not play my music, when it does it plays for about 10 seconds then speeds through the rest of the song then jumps through the nexts songs in the album, anyone got any ideas dont have a clue

I had used the check to only load certain tracks on my iPod mini that my kids use, while loading everything on my iPod 60GB.
I guess I should come up with a different method for that.

The following suggestions assume you are using iMovie '11 (but are also mostly applicable to iMovie '09 from memory - but not sure about the Equalizer).
You mentioned in the topic header that you had edited the project down to 2 hours. In iDVD that is the maximum time allowed for a standard single layer DVD, including time taken for the theme and menus. Perhaps things are a bit tight, and you may need to shorten the project by a few minutes before exporting again for iDVD.
Note that for the Best Performance setting the maximum duration is 1 hour. For 2 hours duration you need to use either High Quality or Professional Quality (the latter takes about twice as long to encode, as it does a 2 pass operation).
In your iMovie project did you insert chapter markers for the beginning of each song? If so, don't place them within a transition. Also, don't insert a marker at the very beginning of the project - iDVD will do this for you automatically - all you need to do in iDVD is rename it. In case you aren't familiar with the markers, see this picture (just drag the marker onto the clip where you want the chapter to start, then give it a name in the marker box that appears):
Regarding the Equalizer, in the iMovie project, double-click on the audio track to bring up the Inspector. Select Audio - you will see an Equalizer item. Use the Custom setting, or by clicking on the disclosure triangles (little arrow heads), you can choose from a range of presets. See this picture:

The song "jumps" to the next song

From time to time I'll be listening to a song and after a very short time the next song starts playing without the first song is completed. Has anyone had such an experience?

Have been having the same issue ever since Leopard. Crossfade is deactivated. Still, a lot of songs end before they've reached the end. Sometimes it's just a few seconds too soon, and sometimes it's more than the entire half of the song that's skipped, even though the audio file is intact and not corrupt. Would be nice to hear a solution to this problem.

The download was interrupted initially, but I continued it and all the other songs play fine. Is there a way I can be reimbursed for the purchase?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

An album which i bought from the i tunes store keeps sjumping to the next song half way through the song. It only happens with this album and not any others, how do i stop it doing that? cheers

This is happening with the coldplay album parachutes which i bought the other day and has never worked properly.

Delete the problem track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
