It keeps wanting to start as a new ipod

i usually buy music from the itunes app but i had some old musci i wanted to transfer over to my ipod i open itunes and plug in my ipod. Then it wanst to start it up as a new ipod or restore from a back up.
is there a way past this??
i just want the old songs on my computer to my ipod but it doesnt even give me a chanse to sync up it goes straight to this screen to start is as a new ipod or to back it up. the ipod it wants me to back it up from isnt even my ipod its my brother.
its on my account and he hasnt used me account ever but it still wants me to restore itback to his????

You can only sync with one computer. If you want to change syncing computers and not lose anything

You must be using an update CD. You need the software that has the full version first - install that, then you can use the update one if needed. I know, cuz I made the same mistake - lol

Your photos are gone. They were wiped when you restored your phone. There is no "trash can".
You obviously don't understand how to use the iPhone properly. Attached is a link to the iPhone User guide. I suggest you read through it to avoid data loss in the future.

Apple has not announced any new iPod models. When they do, we'll all find out at the same time, I would guess, since the announcement will be prominent on every Apple-related web site and will probalby be posted in multiple threads in these forums.

HT1175 Time Machine wants to start with a new, full backup instead of using the existing one

Hi, my Time Machine wants to start a new, full backup, instead of continuing with the existing one on the time Capsule.
Looking a the Troubleshooting guide, I've found the following piece of info, which is, as 99% of the times with the troubleshooting guides, totally useless to resolve my problem...
Message: Time Machine starts a new, full backup instead of a smaller incremental backup
There are three reasons why this may occur:
You performed a full restore.
Your Computer Name (in Sharing preferences) was changed--when this happens, Time Machine will perform a full backup on its next scheduled backup time.
If you have had a hardware repair recently, contact the Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store that performed your repair. In the meantime, you can still browse and recover previous backups by right-clicking or Control-clicking the Time Machine Dock icon, and choosing "Browse Other Time Machine disks" from the contextual menu.
It should be noted (hence the uselessness of the guide) that:
-I haven't performed ANY full restore
- I havent changed my computer name
- My computer has not had ANY repair, much less a hardware repair. Neither recently, nor in the 9 months I've owned it.
Which puts me back to square one, with the marginal improvement that now I have a way of browsing my old backups.
In the event I decide to start all over again, will there be a way for me to "sew" the two backup files?
Or will I always have to go the silly way around?
Anybody has any idea?

no, that doesn't have anything to do with my problem.
Just look at the image below.
Time Machine thinks that the disk I've always used to do my backups has none of them.
If I open the disk with Finder, obviously they are where they should be.
It is even possible to navigate them as per the instruction reported above, but even following Pondini's advice #s B5 and B6 (which are more applicable to my problem) didn't solve the problem.
Actually, not being a coder, I'm always scared of doing more damage than good when I have a Terminal window open.
My question is: how is it possible that Apple hasn't thought of some kind of user command to tell the idiotic Time Machine software that a hard disk backup is a hard disk backup, no matter what?
Estremely frustrating and annoying: I'm wasting HOURS in trying to find a solution to a problem that should not have arisen in the first place...

I want to delete the folders that appear on the left side column next to the email window..... I don't know how else to describe it. I saved folders that I now want to delete, or re label into new folders

I had created folders that line up on the left side of the page, next to the email inbox that is open with all the emails showing....I wanted to delete the folders and start over with new folders, without emptying them, or renaming them......
I kept trying, and found out that selecting the folder, and actually hitting the delete button on my keyboard.....and it worked!!! what do you know!...I thought there must have been a super secret keyboard trick...and I feel ashamed I didn't think of that(''selecting and typing the delete key'') before posting the question...I want desperately to reorganize my email, with customer names, before starting over with new folders.

Firefox keeps wanting to start in Safe Mode and it says I can make some changes permanent such as "Disable all add-ons" and others. When I select one of the options I can then "Make Changes and Restart".

When I make my selection it can then proceed to use Firefox. However the next time I open Firefox I get the same problem.
I'm using Windows 7. I have used Firefox for many years with Windows XP and never had this problem. Is there a solution?

"Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (in Firefox 4: right-click the extension -> "Find Updates") to do a compatibility check.

Indesign keeps wanting to save books as new

Hi,
I am getting fed up with indesign, if when quitting or whatever it offers to save changes to a book, I click ok and it opens a save as dialogue. These are new books in the latest format, previously created and saved on another day.
Why does it do that? Is it just another bug to add to the list I have?

Does it duplicate the files or is just the annoyance to have to save it every time? What version of ID are you using, Mac/Windows?

New ipod video not recognized by my computer at all

i have an ipod mini and itunes on my windows xp computer. i just bought the new ipod video that it is not recognized by my computer at all. i plug it in and the entire computer freezes. if i plug in my mini everything works fine.
i have tried updating/uninstalling my new ipod video. i am worried that if i uninstall itunes that i will lose my purchased music.
does anyone have any suggestions as to what i should do? does anyone have the same problem as me? i really want to start using my new ipod help please.

I assume you have installed the iPod driver, before connecting the 5G iPod. It is possible the device driver for the mini is different, and thus confusing your computer. The iPod driver is on the CD that came with your 5G iPod (iPod with Video)

Can I sync my Palm Destop to the new iPod Touch coming out this month?

I have my calendar and all my contacts on Palm Desktop and I want to start using my new iPod touch (preordered) when I receive it in place of my Palm. Can I transfer the data from the Palm Desktop to the iPod Touch? If so, can I continue to enter appointments on the Palm Desktop if necessary and sync with the new iPod Touch?

Transferring library to new ipod

My son has run out of space on his ipod and wants to transfer his library to a new bigger ipod. The problem is that he has manually managed his music rather than synching it automatically. He has a lot of songs on the computer that he doesn't want to transfer to the new ipod. Also, because he has been transfering manually, his play counts are different on the pc and ipod. Is there a way to sync from the ipod to the pc to get correct play counts on the pc, without synching in the other direction?

What is a Wattpad library?
If you restore the new iPOd from the backup of the old iPod and all the media (apps, music etc.) is in the iTunes library, the new iPod will be like the old iPod but yu will have to reenter all passwords since those only get restored to the same device.
