pfft!!!! after going through reading all these posts, it just pains me that APPLE can't come up with a 4g ipod photo upgrade... i'm quite sure its not just me going through with the dilemna, its just like upgrading regular fries to a biggie... how hard can that be, nevertheless im hoping that they will come up in a few months when everybody's got the new ipod video... hehe. thanks in advance...

yeah, that's what ive heard. so i guess it just boils down to trying to make the most of what i have now, what ticks me off is that the darn ipod vid have a much wider screen & more aesthetic appeal, then again, people back here in the philippines sees the ipod as a status symbol... and its funny that since i got my ipod photo, i've only seen a few w/ it, its either my ego or its just that they were waiting for the ipod video... tsk tsk!!!

Believe it or not all users of these time capsules will eventually experience this problem like you have. There is a 99.5% (or better) chance that the only thing that is wrong with it is the internal power supply. AT&T Charging Deposit 5 months after the fact.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?
I purchasd a iPhone at Launch at a AT&T Retail Store. I had them run my credit and was told No Deposit was required and got a Pre-Approval Check Number. So bought the iPhone went home and activated it. When hooked into iTunes and went through the Application Process I input the Pre-Approval Check Number and no point did it tell me a Deposit would be required... Now 5 Months after the fact AT&T added $750 my Bill and only 2 days to pay it. And they are refusing to fix the problem...

Why do you think you would lose the deposit by switching from a post paid plan to a Pay-As-You-Go?
A deposit is required for those with poor credit and payment history or with no credit which is usually refunded after 12 months of good payment history. If one cancels their contract, the deposit is not lost - it is held until the final bill is paid or the final bill is paid for out of the deposit with the balance refunded.
Since you received a credit pre-approval before activating your iPhone with no indication a deposit was required - had you failed the credit check during the activation with a deposit required at that time, you would have had the option to go with the Pay-As-You-Go plan instead of paying the deposit - an option many have used that prefer not paying a huge deposit in order to have a post paid plan.
Since AT&T made a mistake with your credit check and is now requiring a deposit, I was just providing you another option that AT&T would probably allow you to do instead of paying the deposit without charging you the $175 ETF.
Pay the $700 deposit then.

I just upgraded to the new Photo and find a few things missing. May find more later. My Events are gone. Also, the Albums and Projects that I created that were on the left side tab of iPhoto are now gone. Where are they?

Yes, it's a mess for sure, and I've lost confidence in it for now. First attempt, 5 photos came up missing. Delete and start over, then after second attempt 18 photos go missing. Even one single missing photo is a real confidence breaker for me.
After conversion, and activation of the sidebar, all of my Events were migrated into a single "Photos" Album called "iPhoto Events". Why would I want "legacy" Events segregated into one big Album? What the heck am I supposed to do with that? That's useless if new photos are going to be organized in some other way moving forward. I cannot imagine new photos automatically putting themselves into a new Event inside of the "iPhoto Events" Album... because they won't. I'll be stuck with my old iPhoto Events in this one Album, and the new stuff organized as per Photos. Weird, just weird.
Also, in the "all photos" view, there are dates that are just blank. I think I know why. In iPhoto, I merged various photos into single Events. For whatever reason, within the Library, this left empty folders behind. iPhoto's fault, not mine... I simply dragged & dropped photos to combine Events. Then during Photos import/conversion these empty folders got converted into "blank" days within Photos... this is simply ridiculous. When programming for an import, you'd want to ignore a folder if there are no files inside of it, not convert it into a block of photos that contain no photos. It's nonsensical... you cannot have an iPhoto Event with zero photos, yet that's what was converted over. LOL.
I'm certainly not going to invest the time into cleaning up and moving hundreds of Events and 18,000 photos if Photos can't even do a simple library conversion. Heck, what about the dozens of photos that my iPhone 5S fails to geotag for whatever reason? Can't edit geotags. Can't bulk edit meta data. These are pretty basic functions. Total fail.
I'm going back to iPhoto for a while, hoping Apple eventually cleans up this mess into something usable.

After restoring 60gb photo ipod showing only 16gb memory - help?

Ipod was working fine until one day a folder icon came up with the apple web address. It then suddenly reset itself and showed none of my music or photos (there was about 25gb on it).
I then tried updating the software - it was up to date.
I then restored it.
When I attempted to add my music back on the ipod it told me there was not enough room. When I checked, the ipod was showing that there was only 16gb of free memory. When I checked the properties of the ipod through my computer it shows used space 20.2gb and free space 16gb. This still doesn't add up to the 60gb it is supposed to be.
Can anyone help me?

Spooke to Apple - £189 to repair. It is a replacement of my original so the warranty is finished (even though it was replaced last May - within a year from when it died - you don't get a full year warranty on the replacement).
Once repaired would only be guaranteed for 90 days. Not worth it when I can get a new one for not much more.
Have bought a new one. If this lasts only a year or less it will be my last ipod! They are easy to use but not convinced by longevity!

Problem importing photos after the new Photos update: When I drag photos from my desktop, why don't they don't replace the previously imported photos in "Last Import".

After several attempts, I now find that this is working for me. I wasn't able to open the IMPORT folder in Photos until I clicked on "Close" from File Menu. Once I was able to open the IMPORT folder and select the photos for import, the new photos appeared in "Last Import."

5 months after the exchange upgrade.....

Evening, how normal is this.....got the email from BT at the end of March indicating that my exchange had been upgraded etc etc etc. However, for some reason I am still connecting at ADSL1 (my router doesnt actually display the modulation mode but since my connection is nailed at the top limit of ADSL1 for up and down I think that it would be fair to assume that this is the case).

It appears everyone else with a BT account in town has upgraded, including the neighbour (he is served from the same street cab. as I ) but not me. Incidentally I tested my modem ( I bought a new one in anticipation of the upgrade) and it works just fine next door.
So, is this a normal period of time to wait for the switch? I understand that the switches are done in batches but there arent that many connections from that exchange (small town), I have emailed BT tech and used their web messages and received not a single reply, not even an acknowledgement. I would have rang but I work odd hours so it isn't easy, I am off on Monday (yay finally a day off) so I am going to try and resolve this by 'phone. I am concerned however that the best resolution will be to migrate away

Is there a way to have my logic bard replaced for a cheaper price? My coverage finished a month ago and I was quoted 600 for that repair. Quite upset that my MacBook pro broke down a month after the coverage while during the year it had no issues at all.

Each situation is different. I recommend contacting Apple and discussing it with them in a calm manner.
If the LB has to be replaced, ask about a "depot repair." In the US, it is a bit under $350 and they will usually fix everything that needs fixing. Note that your MBP needs to "qualify" for this repair, and only Apple can determine if it will.

How long has it been since the last logic board replacement? Was the previous repair(s) done by Apple directly or via an authorized service provider? If you're on MLB #3 and you're still seeing the same or very similar problems, I'd contact the place that did the service last, especially if it was in the past 90 days.
When you get a repair done through Apple, even if the machine is out of warranty, the service (and parts) carry a 90-day limited warranty. From my experience, Apple is often times flexible on this window as well especially if it's been a repeated repair.

If I photo just refers to the original photos in your home folder, how come that when i delete pictures in my home folder they are still in i photo?

I want to make more space and simply get rid of the pictures i don't want anymore.
I thought that I have to delete the pics in the original forlder becasue I photo is just a program that refers to the original folder, but apparently the pictures i deleted in the home folder, are still in my i photo library?
How is it possible and how can I synchronise these two libraries?

Couple of possibilities:
By default, iPhoto does not reference the photos, and so unless you made a change in the iPhoto Preferences, then photos have also been copied to the Library,a nd you've been keeping two copies all along.
To delete pic from iphoto, put it the iPhoto trash, empty it and then empty the system trash.
If you have been running a Referenced Library correctly, then you will need to delete the original file from your own folder storage as well. You chose to manage the files yourself.
There is no way to "synchronise these two Libraries". One is a database, the other is a collection of folders.

Wi-Fi not working a few months after screen replacement.

Hi all,
Recently bought a used iPhone, and the previous (original) owner had the screen replaced after dropping it. Apparently, the phone was working absolutely perfect after the screen was replaced, and then a few months after, the wi-fi stopped working. Everything else in the phone is working perfectly fine.
I'm guessing this is probably just a loose connection or something, but could someone give me a possible cause?

My wife had the same problem with iPad 2 after upgrade to 6.0. Don't know if it was important but she had NOT upgraded to iTunes 10.7. I ended up doing a DFU restore and then restored software (still IOS 6.0) and then a iCloud restore and everything was fine with the WiFi . Restoring all music and photos now.

FTTC how long after the cabinet is installed and populated before orders are accepted?
My exchange was originally to be FTTC enabled March 2012 then June 2012 then September 2012 then December 2012 and now .... wait for it March 2013. The dates are starting appear somewhat arbitrary.
A couple of weeks ago the FTTC cabinet was installed and populated, however just this week the FTTC enable date was pushed back from December 2012 to March 2013. Does it really take another six months after the caninet is installed and populated to enable to sevice?
I have said with BT and not moved to the likes of Sky or Talk Talk (which would be cheaper and on the face of it offer increased speed) because my exchange was soon to be FTTC enabled.

Horrible customer service month after month

I am amazed at how horrible verizons customer service is. I have had to call every month for the last 6 months and they say its fixed in the system and then the bill arrives with nothing fixed..... how hard is it for you to do your job??????
I had trouble with Verizon service, went to the store and they said it was my phone. so they said they will upgrade me to the new edge program but I have to trade in my note 3. so I do that and then a month later we have trouble with service going in and out on both of our phones. after many stops at the store and many calls to Verizon they have the network people do all kinds of tests and Verizon comes to the conclusion they cant fix the network and offer us out of the contract and they will waive the fees because it their fault.
cool, we take them up on the offer....... the following week we talk to Verizon and they say the early termination fees will be credited next month. and of course they are not.
SO here I am 6 months later going through the same B/S with Verizon...... now again I just called and the agent said they see the notes in the system saying they will credit the early termination fees but the computers wont let us..... so now Verizon does not know how to fix the issue even though the notes say to credit me the early termination fees.....
and then on the 7th month which is a few days ago...... Verizon now decides they want to charge me for the remainder of my edge phone even though they allowed us to leave the contract with zero fees.....
so know im stuck with Verizon charging me 2 early termination fees and anfter 7 months now want to charge me for the edge phone cash price......
CAN SOMEONE FROM VERIZON PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THIS IGNORANT B/S IS HAPPENEING AND HOW NOBODY AT CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS SMART ENOUGH TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS???? IS IT TIME FOR THE LAWYER AND ATNY GENERALS OFFICE TO GET INVOLVED???

yup, the first 6 months they told me I was all set and it would reflect in the new bill. the new bill comes with the same charges and nothing is fixed. and as stated before,on this 7th month bill, they added a charge for an edge phone 7 months after the account was closed.... thieves and crooks
