It's Feb. 10th. No Pre 2 on Verizon
Thought I would pre order today, but not to be found. Funny thing though, they use the picture of the Pre Plus in their New Products front end box.
Is HP Shopping the only way to get it? Couldn't HP give Verizon some major computer discounts to trade for more visiblity?

Ok, did a search, and it looks like Simplexity IS wirefly. When I was at the Verizon store today, they warned me NOT to Use wirefly! Well, they were right.
Oh I also got an e-mail telling me the accesories I ordered through HP Shopping for the Pre 2 shipped! Now, I will have the accessories for a Phone I don't own, and can't pre-order!
Thanks HP/Palm for making it simple! FYI, KISS is what customers want! (KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid) Guess I'll return the accessories I paid $160 for, and save the $99 on the Pre 2 I can't order, and just shell out $199 for an iPhone 4. Hmm, that saves me $60!
Just searched about wirely, aka Simplexity, and found the horror stories! Why did HP/Palm choose them for Pre-Orders!

I am a verizon customer and I plan on pre-ordering it, but my question (and it may be a dumb one) is when I will have to actually pay for it. Do I pay when I pre-order and it ships to me, or do I pre-order and have to go into the store and pay when I get it?

Sigh.. returning Pre Plus to Verizon...
So a few weeks ago I got a Pre Plus to try out. I'm getting tired of my Nexus One's foibles and general bugginess.
I got the Pre Plus from Verizon mainly because I *need* at least 16G of storage internally (whether it's built in or done with flash storage). So the Sprint Pre is out.
Over the past two weeks, I grew to *love* the Pre Plus. I was ready to transfer my number to Verizon, and bring my wife's line over with me.
However, due to the fact that Verizon is crippling GPS access, I will not keep this phone:

It's sad that Verizon is so short-sighted, that they'd lose a customer willing to pay $100/month for cell phone service, over a measly $10/month app.
Maybe if the Pre Plus ever actually comes out on AT&T, I'll check it out again.I've had my Pre only a few days and saw the threads about the GPS crippling. But I tried two GPS applications this evening (Weather Channel and Google Maps), went outside, and after about 5 minutes the map showed me located perfectly. I did have VZ Navigator up (Note: I am NOT a Navigator subscriber--just had it open on the "Accept" or "Decline" opening screen). I have not taken the time to fully test the results without VZ Nav running. But you may want to test this possible work-around until Verizon sees the error of its ways.
If I get a chance to test it without VZ Nav open in that manner I will report back. -
The iPhone 6 was unveiled today, I would like to know when I can pre-order through Verizon.
For each iPhone which Verizon has carried, the pre-orders opened the SAME time they did on the Apple site.

Picking up iphone at Apple store feb 10th- but bought it using a family members upgrade! help!
Apple said they won't activate it for me when I pick it up tomorrow because only verizon can handle situations like this-where I am taking someone elses upgrade- what do I do!
This a condensed version:
Power off the original device on the upgraded line, your old phone and the iPhone.
Activate the iPhone on the line it was originally purchased.
Take the iPhone off of the line by putting the original phone back on to the account.
Put the iPhone on the line you want it to be on. Reset the iPhone and then plug it into computer with iTunes and allow the activation. If the iPhone has been activated on one one and needs to be switched, you must reset the phone or the process will not work.
Call technical support, tell them that you want to take the device off of one line and put it onto another and they can help you with it. Be patient and follow their instruction and should be a painless process for you -
Itunes is not able to make changes to a running title, problem is new since feb 10th
I'm located in Germany, sorry for some english mistakes. Hope to get the problem clear ;-) My itunes library is located on a NAS-storage. Made the firmware Update for Airport Extreme a few days ago. . SInce that time it's not possible to make changes in the Information of a running title in itunes. To get the problem clear i like to explain: got about 100thousand titles in itunes, use it for many years, always the same workflow: I listen to a new title and make changes to the title-information such as intensity, genre, cover-editing, composers, comments, etc. No problem, it was always stored to the file. Now it is possible to do this changes, but the next time, you play this title, information is automatically setting back to the original infornation. If I do this to a NOT running title, the information is to be fixed properly. I use my library for professional work, so this is not acceptable, because it's taking far too much time in the progress. Maybe it's a network problem, not an itunes problem. But maybe someone else got the same experience.

Hey folks, if maybe anyone at apple should read this (I'm shure they won't), itunes 11 is the worst software that was ever released by apple. Sorry to say that! I never thought of switching back to PC, but now I'm looking for a better solution.

I have been using palm products tying back to 1996 and am a fanatic. most recently, my palm plus was stolen and i have been waiting for the pre 2 to become available on verizon. I have been going without a phone waiting for this release. how long will it be?

the suspense is killing me LOL I can't wait for the Verizon iPhone is there any way you could make the pre-order date earlier?? I would feel so much better and be able to relax if I knew my pre-order was in already and just wait for the shipment confirmation. Iphone will have several million available on launch. if it was anything like att, pre orders will sell out in about 16 hours and feb 10th, you will have to wait in line but it will take 2-3 days to sell out then.
If you cant get a iphone on the 3rd, i suggest hitting up a verizon corp store that is in a small town and get their midnight, they will open at 7am for the iphone.

Bear with me on this...
I was told initially, as many here were, that youcould only pre-order from Verizon. Then others spoke to Apple reps who claimed that yes, you could also pre-order from Apple.
Then I was told by VW cs reps that if you pre-order on the 3rd, the phone will ship within 24hrs and you should receive it on or around the 7th. (I know others have been told other things, but this is the only answer I have heard from the three reps I spoke with.)
I just got off the phone with an apple supervisor who said that yes you could pre-order with them, but the phone will not ship until the 10th.
So... by this information, you can order from apple, but you will get your phone first from Verizon.
I have apple gift cards, so I am going through apple.Yes, they did. I called 3 retail locations near me Monday and spoke to the Store Managers and I called the Apple online store and held on to speak with a Supervisor. All 4 Apple supervisors told me explicitely that you can order on the 3rd AS LONG as you are an existing customer. Discount, full retail, ugrade eligible/uneligible does not matter. The ONLY qualification is that you must have an existing account and line with VZW.
They also said you can make the order over the phone by calling Apple store online, if you have any issues online or if the online ordering system was not working. I think they told me that last part because they probably get some type of incentive if you order on the phone with a person.
I also spoke with a Verizon supervisor Monday. She also told me the same thing basically. Any existing VZW customer can pre-order. When I asked her she thought I was crazy for even asking such a stupid question. "of course you can order at full retail- you're an EXISTING CUSTOMER SIR! The only people who cannot pre-order are non VZW customers" . Were her words.
That lead me to another question that I haven't heard asked and it might just bein the FAQ. But, if I recall correctly, the FAQ states pre-orders to VZW on or around the 3rd. Does that mean on the 4-10th existing customers can still pre-order? Seems like everyone is assuming it's either or. I may have missed it in the FAQ but, never thought about it until now. Does the FAQ say you HAVE to pre-order on the 3rd otherwise you have to wait until the 10th?
As of the last time I checked (which was like two hours ago) it doesn't state anything about it. Now, as we've all been told the FAQ is CONSTANTLY changing (with what? I don't know. Don't notice much of a change even now). I asked my friend who used to work for Verizon and she said that she imagines that it will be able to be pre-sold until their inventory runs out. But that they may have a set amount that they can go through for pre-orders so that there are still some in stores and on VZW.com the day of launch.
ONLY HER GUESS. She doesn't know for sure. But that was her guess. But, it matters if they run out on the 3rd at midnight I guess. -

BrianBPC Summit event was pretty informational in the round table sessions, where you could share experiences and best practices with BPC users and admins from other industries.
The Summit is a great place for people to network and learn more about the products. The Summit also introduced other SAP products such as PCM, etc. -

HP had their webOS event Wednesday and the word is that the Pre 2 will be available for pre-order on Verizon today (Feb 10). I am certainly interested, but I have a question:

This is really confusing. From precentral.net (above link), it said the 3g hot spot feature is free and confirmed.

Does anyone know if there will be a limit on how many phones we can pre order? Both my lines are due for upgrades. I may add another line as well.

GPS is completely malfunctioning on Pre Plus
Up til December the GPS was working fairly well, but since the new year it is driving me nuts. It never gets any signal most the time, and when it does, it tells me I'm at the last place it was working. For example, I'll get it to work at the office. It stops working. I get home, and it gets a signal, but it still thinks I'm at work! And Vice versa. I downloaded the GPS fix app to see if it would help, and it does keep the GPS more active but the same problem occurs where it thinks I'm in my previous location and won't refresh at all or loses signal immediately. I'm paying a high fee for this phone plan and half my applications can't even get a reliable GPS signal. WebOS is great but I'm close to my last straw with this phone. Am I covered for repairs or a new unit with the warranty if it has been less than 1 year?

I also have a VZW Pre and was able to resolve my issue by shutting off GPS and doing clean restart, turn on Location Services, Open VZ navigator accepting the locator if it shows but not the "Buy", with no GPS apps open, Open phone and dial ##477# Wait for fix and open your app. I also leave my VZW navigator minimized in the background. This has been a Verizon AGPS issue for a while and should be addressed in the 2.x webOS OTA release. Please, watch the Feb.. 9th Palm Announcement Event in San Francisco for further details on a possible more specific release date. I am waiting for the fix... Just like you

Now Palm Pre Plus, can I remove Palm desktop?
OK, newbie here. I just switched (successfully) to Pre Plus on Verizon (from Treo). All my data (contacts, calendar etc) is in Outlook. I use Companionlink to sync Outlook-to-Google-to-PalmPre. Works beautifully, all my data is in both Outlook & on my Pre & syncing back/forth.
My question is: I have never used Palm Desktop. I used to Hotsync my Treo to Outlook. Can I now remove Palm Desktop altogether? and remove Hotsync Manager? any reason not to? One of the reasons I want to get rid of old Palm stuff is that every time I have to restart my computer I get this irritating notice to register my old palm device. I've always gotten it & want it to stop! Assume by removing Palm Desktop & Hotsync it will finally go away. Plus I just like the idea of cleaning house.
P.S. love this Pal Pre Plus.sonnytris1, are you using Companionlink software?
