It's like i've just installed everytime I start I tunes!?
Every time I start Itunes after a re-boot all settings are back to defaults and it asks about importing and all that.
Today is had to analyze the entire playlist and said it wasn't working or something.
This is on windows vista 64bit (which I am regretting going to) and the current version of itunes. 8.0.2.20 and i'm running kaspersky internet security.
its **** annoying!
Nobody can tell you anything without proper system information and details like the crash logs from your Event Viewer.

Opened Firefox this morning and it was like I had just installed it for the first time
What is going on with Firefox. Everything was fine last night. This morning I opened it to check the weather and what opened was a new Firefox asking me if I wanted to make it my default browser. All my bookmarks were there. All the add-ons were there but none of them worked and. I installed Personnas and it worked and then I closed it down. Now I went to open it and it won't open so I'm writing you in Google Chrome. I have loved Firefox but I think it's getting like Internet Explorer. Nothing but problems and doesn't want to work half the time. How very sad.
This may be a problem with preference that aren't saved properly.

Why do I get update cannot be installed everytime I start FF version 9.01
When I start up PC and then open FireFox version 9.01 I get following message: "Update could not be installed. Please make sure no other copies of FireFox are running and restart"
No other version are running. It works fine on my wife's laptop and updated automatically. this happens whenever I use the browser or try to go to another site. I saw log and it says exactly what I just said. I am assuming this is latest version already but I can't stop the error message. Any suggestions. I would like to reinstall but wonder if I would lose everything already set?????Firefox may still be open in the background. The easiest way to fix this is to simply reboot, which will make sure Firefox is completely closed.
The other option is to open Task Manager (Control-Alt-Delete), click the Processes tab, and highlight any Firefox.exe you see listed and clicking the End Process button. -
Just installed Developer Suite, starting Forms Builder gives an error
Installing the suite (9.0.2.0.1) went properly, and connecting to the database (9.2.0.1.0)as well.
But when starting Forms Builder 9.0 It says:
-error with opening Oracle*terminalfile c:\oracle\DSuite\forms90\fmrNlw.res
And when i klick OK it says:
-FRM10039: unable to start up the form builder
Then i click OK again and I'm thrown back to my desktop.

I just installed Mountain Lion on my iMac. But In was dismayed to find that my Canon scanner software (Canoscan LIDE500F)no longer works. Nor do any of my MS offce applications. I tried to use time machine to reinstall Snow Leopard (my previous operating system), but unfortunately my time machine backups did not include system software. Also, the original system install disk that came with my iMac would not allow me to install Snow Leopard in place of Mountain Lion. I would appreciate it if somebody could tell me how to solve this problem.
The reason your Office doesn't work is because it is PowerPC code. If you will upgrade the 2004 Office to 2011 Office then that will work.
I don't understand how you managed to get your Time Machine backup to not backup the system.
Now if you still what to downgrade you will have to erase the disk and reinstall Snow Leopard. Most likely all of your application and then restore your data from Time Machine.
To me it sounds like it would be easier to upgrade your software and stay with Mountain Lion instead.

I'm a newbee, (Win Tech) Would like to know what command it is for reaching the reinstall menu at boot-up.
I do not meen cmd r menu wich just install OSX above the OS. I think I need a totally fresh installation.
Do you have any clue? Have several issues on a new MacBookPro but it's propably "PEBKAC" made..
UffeIt is Command+r or for the online internet system it is Command+option/Alt+r keys. Then you use Disk Utility to erase the macintosh partition, from the built in recovery hd, or you can repartition the drive as one partition from the online system.
To actually get to the online internet system you have to hold that key combo down until you see a globe on the screen. Otherwise it will just boot from the built in recovery hd on the internal drive. -
Have just installed Mavericks and restarted the MacBook Pro. That was 3 hours ago and after logging in, I got my wallpaper and dock, but none of my desktop icons, just the spinning coloured wheel. It's been like that for 2 hours. Is this normal? What should I do, please?
I tried holding the on/off switch down to make it shut down, but when I turned it back on again, the same thing happened and none of the keys etc makes any difference.

Try booting whilst holding down the Shift key - this will allow you to boot into Safe Mode, disabling third-party kernel extensions, etc. Your Mac will be slow to boot and will operate sluggishly. That's normal. If you can get in using Safe Mode then you have some start-up item that doesn't play well with Mavericks.

I just download and install itunes 10.5 and it worked good the first days but since yesterday it crashed up, and everytime i start it it crashes again and logged me out each time. it can´t acces my itunes account. I´m using snow leopard the last version. What can i do to solve this problem and and continue using my itunes normally?
Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com. Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan. Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans. Restart computer.
Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive

Since you indicated that you were using OS X (10.6.8)......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on AirPort Express, then click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab located under the row of icons
Edit the Wireless Network Name as you wish
Click Update to save the new changes
Allow a full minute for the AirPort Express to restart -

Guys, I been in the business working on PC and MAC for years. So I am not green at this, I was looking for some kind of option to get past the boot loader.. Which is failing.
I know how to boot into these modes.. Done tons of research before posting and couldn't find anything.
It will not go into Internet Recovery, or any thing else. I hear the sound .. then that is it.. I get nothing else..
I have tried clearing the NVRAM which is Option + Command + P + R
Still nothing..
So I thought I would try here to see if maybe there was some trick out there someone might know of that would work.
What else guys? I am hitting th keys right.. -

Just installing a few updates from the Mac App Store for mountain lion on my 2010 MacBook Pro, during this it made a noise and then the screen and keyboard went off, like it is off. What happened, is it off...or should I just wait it out?
What kind of noise?
The only things I can think of that make noise are fans and disks. Fans usually will not cause the computer to shutdown as you describe. My guess is your disk drive died. I hope you made a backup prior to start the ungrade.
