It's not that the Flash plugin has crashed, it's that Firefox will not play the code written - IE9 does, Chrome does, Safari does - what's up with your Flash support - it's been brain dead for the last three releases - ever since v4 I think

Enter this url in any modern browser IE9 (I never would have believed that I would be complaining about Firfox not working and IE does! - it that how far you've gone down?), Chrome (no wonder people are switching to it in droves) and even Safari - and it plays, but not in Firefox v6.02 - it used to play fine when I first uploaded it back in July 2010 (v3.6 Firefox I think)

Try this link in Firefox v6 and then try it in Chrome - nuf said.
Hope you can fix this or I'll be having a big disclaimer on all of my site - does not work in Firefox. Never thought I would be saying this.
Thanks. Craig.

I should test it on my wife's old Xp with v3.6 - too late tonight - will check tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Craig.

Your installed plugins list shows two different versions of Flash. Use the Adobe uninstaller program to entirely remove Flash and then install the latest version.

This problem has plagued Firefox for years now, and there seems to be no end in sight for a fix.
There are all kinds of possible solutions, some you will have found that simply do not work, b/c nobody knows why it happens.
Some of the forum fixes include:
    1) disable hardware acceleration in Firefox
    2) use safe mode which is not a solution just makes the browser not use any plugins and the browser like its from 1995
    3) Use flash in protected mode
I posted those because that is what you will mostly hear on these forums and someone will surely mention to you, so feel free to search and try them first if you so choose.
I have tried all of these things in the past and were completely useless to me.
I have found only one solution that i personally came up with that does not appear to be accepted on these forums due to the fact that nobody understand why it works, nor is willing to suggest or test it. But it has worked and the proof is in my blogs that it does work for some.
First before we get too far into things.
Open a cmd prompt and close Firefox.
type or copy/pate one line at a time:
    del C:\Windows\Prefetch\PLUGIN-CONTAINER*.pf
    del C:\Windows\Prefetch\flashpl*.pf
    del C:\Windows\Prefetch\firefox*.pf
    del C:\Windows\Prefetch\FLASHPLAYERUPDATESERVICE*.pf
    del C:\Windows\Prefetch\PLUGIN-HANG*.pf
Now open the page and test to see if that seems to help out or not. Hopefully it will.
note: these files will eventually recreate themselves so no harm is done. it is my believe that there is stale data withing some of them that conflicts with current data.
If this works, then head on over to:
    http://firefoxcrash.blogspot.com/2013/12/firefox-crashes-adobe-flash-player.html
for a further explanation, and a way to keep those files cleaned.
Also, make sure you flash players are up to date and cleared of any old installs.
http://adobeflashcleanup.blogspot.com/ there is a bat file that will uninstall, clean up , and go to the adobe site and get and install the latest versions of flash for you. all automated
IF not, then i am sure someone will be able to tell you what they have been telling everyone here for years.
    Best of luck

in the command prompt would i press enter after every line that's pasted
    </blockquote>
    answer is yes
you can also create a bat file, by simply renaming dumping the contents in a .txt file and changing the .txt to .bat
i would recommend trying the below in bat file. This will simply keep these files clear until you close the window, and will run in a loop as said until you close. this type of fix resolved my issue, but i compiled it to an exe so it would run silently. The forum moderators seem to slander and persecute me for creating scripts even in bat where everything in bat can be seen when they are clueless to what is going on. Im trying to make an easy solution to the problems that nobody here knows how to solve

  • I have the latest plugins and firefox but it still says 'adobe flash plugin has crashed' How do i fix this?

Every time I go on YouTube, it comes up with: 'adobe flash plugin has crashed'. I have tried refreshing and restarting my laptop, I have also got all the latest flash and Firefox, but it still won't work.

I'd start with disabling Hardware Acceleration, as described in the video troubleshooting guide below:
    Video playback issues
If that solves the problem, make sure that your graphics drivers are current.
If it *still* happens with current drivers, please give us detailed information on the graphics card and driver, so that we can disable hardware acceleration on this configuration and start a conversation with the appropriate vendor.
The best way to get this information is to do the following (on Windows):
    Open a command prompt
    Type: dxdiag
    Hit Enter
This should launch the DirectX Diagnostic Tool
Click Save All Information (or whatever that save button says).
Paste the contents into a reply here, or you can click Use Advanced Editor in the upper right of the reply window, and then attach the file using the link at the bottom right of the reply window.

  • The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed! Help please.

I can't load any flash content within Firefox. I instantly get the following error: "The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed. Reload the page to try again.".
So far I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, restarted my computer, and disabled hardware acceleration all to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, so scratch my last response. Disabling hardware acceleration through Firefox (orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available" ) did not work however step 3B did. Following your link, right clicking on the Flash logo and disabling hardware acceleration there has fixed my issue.
    Thanks!

  • "Adobe flash plugin has crashed" error. Help?

I have tried a bunch of fixes I found searching through the web, but nothing so far has worked. I thought you fine fellow Apple folks might know what the heck is going on. After the last update, I started getting the error message "Adobe flash plugin has crashed" in both Firefox and Safari (both updated fully). I'm running Snow Leopard on a Mac Pro. Using latestet version of the Flash plugin. And, I have uninstalled and installed again per Adobe's website... not helpful, still having the issue.
Funny thing is, I have all the same software, updgrades, etc. on my Macbook Pro, and the Flash plugin works fine. Can anyone help me find out what might be causing this issue?

I cannot recall ever being this frustrated with my Mac and I have been faithfully using Mac for 20+ years!!
I am currently using a Macbook Pro 2.3 Ghz intel Core i7 4GB RAM Mac OSX 10.7.5
    Problems encountered:
Very slow browsers chrome, safari, firefox - have tried them all in hopes of finding one that works with no luck!!
Adobe Flash crash error codes all the time.  I receive update request links from all three browsers asking me to update adobe flash software which I have done repeatedly numerous times with absolutely no success, just a waste of time and lots of frustration.
Spinning rainbow sprocket is a common thing on my macbook, drives me insane!!
I found this thread and followed the instructions to go into "System Preferences, Flash Player, selecting the Advanced tab, and delete all browser data and settings."  I then updated my Adobe Flash in my System Preferences, not the typical browser update method.
So far, this method appears to be working - will keep my fingers crossed!!!

  • Problem with Adobe Flash (plugin has crashed). Have updated, uninstalled etc.

Recently I keep getting the Adobel Flash plugin has crashed message. Not aware I have changed any programs or software.
I have ensured every thing in uptodate. Tried uninstalling and re-downloading. No success.
    Read your help page.
Are there suitable alternatives to Adobe or is this limited by the websites that use Adobe?

I am adding screen shot of Yahoo messenger to my previous question. Though it is in Japanese but there is a little English too which will be helpful to those who could not read Japanese.

  • In Gmail. "Adobe Flash PLUGIN has Crashed" trying to ATTACH a file

"Adobe Flash PLUGIN has Crashed" error message in Gmail when trying to attach a large file. Error pops up after 7 to 8 megs are uploaded.

Thanks for that, I had this problem too and it solved it out for me.
The only problem was to be able to find a flash video that would work,
you might want to try to open a youtube link that somebody posted on facebook,
and than right click it and disable hardware accelaration.

  • Firefox crashes: "Adobe Flash Plugin has Crashed" (in safemode)

In Gmail / compose / attach a file (about 11 Megs)
about 3/4 of file is uploaded when a bar opens at the top with error message. "Adobe Flash Plugin has crashed" ... click to reload the page (reload never works & "attach file" button is dead)

You can also set the pref dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs to -1 to disable the timeout.

  • I often get the message "The Adobe Flash Plugin has crashed / Reload the page to try again" but the plugin check page does not list Adobe Flash.

The plugin check page does list something called 'Shockwave Flash." I went to the Adobe site and downloaded and installed the latest version of Adobe Flash but it still does not show up on the plugin check page. I don't see how Adobe Flash can be crashing in Firefox when Firefox doesn't even know that it's installed.

Your System Details List shows the Shockwave Flash 12.0 r0 plugin as installed, so you appear to have the Flash plugin installed.
You can check the version of the current Flash player here:
    *http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
What is the current setting for the Flash plugin on Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem for a while (FF 3.6.13,Win 7-32 on HP 8730w)and I cannot understand that the Mozilla foundation doesn't do anything about it.
I tried to deactivate the Skype plugin that seems to be at the head of a lot on unstability but no use.
Going to 70% of the websites with flash and having FF that hangs really sucks and I am close to re-install explorer on my PC Guys, so DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, Call the Adobe engineers and sit around a table or you will loose market share soon... :-((
