It's official $30 Unlimited Data

I found this article this morning from The Wall Street Journal.
It’s official: Verizon is going to offer iPhone buyers a $30 unlimited data plan. The carrier’s heir apparent and chief operating officer, Lowell McAdam, told us the news ahead of the company’s meeting with investors.
Associated Press
“I’m not going to shoot myself in the foot,” he said. Not offering an unlimited plan would put up a barrier for customers who might otherwise switch from AT&T, he said. The country’s No. 2 carrier still has millions of subscribers grandfathered into unlimited plans they signed up for before AT&T switched to tiered pricing last summer.
Mr. McAdam certainly doesn’t want to miss out on any sales now. Anticipation Verizon would soon offer the iPhone held back sales over the fourth quarter, he said. Analysts seemed happy with the subscriber growth, but McAdam wasn’t. “It wasn’t what I hoped it would be,” he said.

lol....so they are basically going BACK to the plans they had 6 months ago. they used to require a $10 plan to purchase a "media phone." these were email and web capable, but not smartphones (lg envy, etc). they just dropped that $10 plan requirement and dropped the tag line of "media phones" for that whole lineup. as far as i knew, they still offered the $10 plan, but didn't require it anymore to purchse what they used to cal media phones. my wife has the allias II. when we got it, i had to add the $10 plan, but then they allowed me to drop it a few months ago when i realized they no longer required it.

  • Questions about Assumption of Liability and device to be used for unlimited data plan

This is my first post on here. I have an opportunity that someone I know is willing to transfer his smartphone plan with unlimited data to me. I have read extensively on here and other sites and gathered some information, and also heard of many complications and questionable losses of unlimited data plans when making various types of changes to devices or services. Some of what I read may be outdated as well if Verizon has made changes in their policies, so I will start with the most obvious question: as of this date, is an AOL possible while keeping the unlimited data plan intact?
If so, here are some other questions I have:
-Will I receive a new SIM card by mail or do I need to use my friend's old SIM card?
-If my ultimate end goal is to use laptop, do I have to connect through a smartphone (and is there any additional charge for that, or would it change the plan), or can I put the SIM card in a mobile hotspot such as the MHS291L and use only the data portion of the plan?
-After getting the plan, is there any way I can get TWO SIM cards - one for a mobile hotspot, and the other strictly for voice and text? If so, how much extra would that cost?
-If we went to a Verizon store to do this transfer or AOL, how can we be absolutely certain it goes smoothly, that no one makes any unauthorized plan changes and does not lose the unlimited data? I have unfortunately read some horror stories of it being lost in similar situations, no one seems to be accountable, and it winds up costing someone countless hours of struggle with Verizon to try to get it back (whether they are successful or not I don't know).
-If at some point the SIM card was lost (such as if I lost the device), can it be replaced without affecting the plan?
For what it's worth (especially for those working for Verizon), I am not looking for a way to hog up absurd amounts of data but simply to be able to do the basic stuff I need to online and maybe watch a movie once in a while without having really huge bills. Even if I used the internet without giving data consumption a second thought, I doubt I'd go much over 25-30GB most months.
Thanks to whoever can provide me with information.

Hi NicandroN_VZW, sorry i did not see your reply in time but thank you just the same. I called the number for the AOL department and they were able to help me with it pretty easily and answer most of my questions
I do have a couple other questions regarding the unlimited data plan on smartphones. I have seen various comments regarding these things online, and i can make a good guess about what "might work," but i'm really looking to know Verizon's official policy on these things, if one exists. In case any non-verizon employees are able to provide this information as well, if you have references to where i can find it in writing that would be helpful.
First, i realize there is an optional $30 fee for mobile hotspot use. But does Verizon have any policy about whether this fee must be paid if i connect only via a USB cable (since it would not actually be a "hotspot," and could not connect multiple devices)?
And my other question is, if i do opt to pay the $30 hotspot fee, is there any policy either for or against using that SIM card in a 4g hotspot such as the MHS291L?
PS i am asking these things here rather than by PM because, given the wide range of opinions which can be found online and that others have looked into similar things, i am sure other people could also benefit from knowing Verizon's policy regarding these things.

  • Keeping unlimited data buying used phone confusion

Hello, looking for a little help and clarity here if possible. I have an unlimited data plan from years ago and would like to keep it. I have been using one of the first motorola droid phones and it is just way out of date with the 3G. I understand that I can keep my data plan if I pay full price for a new phone or buy a used one from swappa, ebay, etc. I've decided to buy a used phone but I want to make sure that the phone I buy will work properly at 4G while keeping my unlimited data plan. I am mainly confused by CDMA and GSM and HSPA+ and LTE and unlocked etc. I know to buy an official Verizon phone, but when I look at the specs, they all are different. Some use CDMA, some use GSM, some use both. Then there is HSPA+ and LTE Does any of this matter? Will I be able to use any of those phones and upgrade to 4G as well, as long as they have the Verizon stamp? Or is there a specific criteria I need to be aware of in order for everything to go smoothly? I hope the questions make sense.
A little clarity on this is much appreciated, and any other crucial info I might be missing. Just want to make sure I don't make an expensive mistake.
    Thanks so much

Thanks for the detailed reply. I've found that I almost always have signal using Verizon, when friends standing next to me do not using other carriers. Will using a GSM/Verizon phone limit my signal service?
Here are a couple I am looking at. Thanks for taking a look.
The description for both of these say they are factory unlocked...

  • Who has the Unlimited Data Plan and has Been Speed Capped when You went over 5Gig?

Just checking to see how many others have been speed capped to 200Kb on the unlimited data plan when they went over 5Gig in a billing cycle? (you can get a one time reprieve if you call them at 1-888-483-7200)
Did they ask you to change your plan to 10Gig and Update your Equipment and sign a new two year agreement?
Did you know that Sprint is offering unlimited Data on their 4G network and that Verizon is trying to lock down customers that are not on 2 year contracts? (Gives them time to catch up with the competition) Marcus in Fraud and Investigation told me (when I told him that Sprint was offering Unlimited Data)  "...That is a better option..."
I am now looking into other options along with allot of the rest of you.

I was instructed to call that Fraud Department number and was treated like I had broken some kind of law instead of going over the 5 Gig fine print limit on my unlimited grandfathered in account. They would not even consider giving me a one time do over for being a MiFi newbie. I am hearing class action suit rumblings out there!!

  • Is there anyone here with an unlimited data who has,,,,,

1....bought(at full price) a tablet, and switched between the tablet and phone as you would switching two phones without losing your unlimited plan
2....signed up for the 1 month hotspot for $30 (for 1 month only, like say for vacation), and using your unlimited plan with the hotspot, without losing your data plan, of course
i have talked to no less than 8 reps at different times and have gotten yes and no answers equally. it is not so much about trying to see if it works,,,it's about getting the unlimited data plan BACK if they f**k up

I have never called customer service to activate or remove the hotspot feature. If I can do it online, I will use that method before calling. I have had a VZW rep on the forum help me future date a removal once because the website wouldn't let me have the feature removed at the end of the current billing cycle so it wouldn't be on the next billing cycle. That didn't last long so I have kept the hotspot feature activated since then.

  • Unlimited data

After talking to a supervisor, finally got my unlimited data plan re-instated. Took some talking, but it was worth it. We both agreed that a smartphone is a smartphone, and that I changed nothing in my plan (family plan) to warrent my losing the unlimited data. I kept my Droid X and made it my back-up phone. It never did lose the unlimited data plan, only my LG Spectrum. But now, even my Spectrum has unlimited data.

Until they offer a shared plan for families that allow for a family to share about 5 gig a month for 50 bucks or less it is a total ripofff-kids in college and HS never go over the VZ net always wifi and same with workers only road warriors use a lot of road air time via VZ net and so We pay 90 a month-yes one unlimited and me with a dumb phone I refuse to upgrade as I will get added another 30 for 120 a month plus 90 for 700 voice pus 30 for text and stuff (Which if kids would use email on iPhones they would not  pee money away on texts etc as they could use the date on their 3 gig. but its absurd to pay for reach phone and it burns the users on either end- a parent who uses 3 gig who has 2 kids who use 0;.1 giig should hardl bye paying more than 90 a month-do they think that families can pay now 270 a month for cell -250 for FIOS--I mean its a good service but somebody will sffer share and then they will jump in-they have claimed to plan to add data share for now over 6 months and keep milling it as VZ is famous for=-BILL CREEP--I love their network but their corporate monkeys are just awful awful people who care nothing about loyalty-only about ripping me off every step of the way--it is always a chore to be sure I am not overpaying-always-the guy just tried to have me upgrade on my wife's phone and that would have forced me into a smart phone and I dont want more data at 30 a month-the col.is breaking my budget and I am about to toss them out for US cellular and god forbid ATT? OYE!

  • Help me keep unlimited data. reps being extremely rude and not helping...

So I don't want to make this long and boring so I'm going straight to the point. I am grandfathered in and I know there are many discussions on here about this but I need serious help. I don't know what to do. Long story short, I went to my local normal Verizon store and asked politely to be on the 12 month payment plan for a new phone. And I stressed I wanted to keep my unlimited data. No problem they said....45 limited later they come back and say sorry, we cannot do that. Doing the payment plan makes you sign a new 2yr contract. I was mad obviously but left politely not knowing any better. But it didn't seem right. So I called the 800 support number and they said there is no reason why they shouldn't have done that for me. The guy said he shouldn't of told me this BuT he told me that reps don't like doing that because they don't get as much If any commission for doing so. So he said they usually come up with a lame excuse like the one they told me. He told me to go right back in there and tell them that yes they are able to do that. So I did. I got a different rep and he was acting weird about it. Get this... I told him my situation and gave him a puzzled look when he explained he doesn't know what he can do, HE said "what's that condescending look for?" I justccan't believe he said that how unprofessional of him to call me, a customer or ten years condescending. I was astonished. But that's not even my point. He didn't know what todo so called the manager over and she claims to have spoke with the "president" and "CEO" of their Verizon in north east ohio, this was a wooster Ohio Verizon. And claims that they don't allow that and what I was originally told by the rep is true. That is changes the contract going on a payment plan the 12 month one not the edge. I told her what the 800 number has told me and she said they are wrong. PLEASE HELP ME :(  AGAIN, I was not rude or anything at all with them. They treated me like garbage because I want to keep my unlimited data. How can I do this? Can I go to another Verizon perhaps In Ashland Ohio and do the payment plan and keep my data? Sorry for the long question but any help would be TREMENDOUSLY appreciated. I am in wooster Ohio btw

        brant13,
I want to start off by saying, I am truly sorry for the way that you have been treated at that the store location. This is by no means how we run a business. I can assure you that if you do the Device Payment Plan http://vz.to/ZILXBT  that is for 12 months that you are able to keep the unlimited data plan. You can always go to the store location on Commerce Pky in Ashland, OH. That is a direct store location and they should be able to get you set up with out any kind of issues. Please keep us posted if you have any further troubles. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

  • Return or exchange Galaxy S3 and keep unlimited data?

I have preordered a Galaxy S3 and it's been shipped already, should be delivered on Monday. After finding out about the encrypted bootloader on this phone I'm not sure I want it anymore (I'll save that rant for somewhere else). If I return the device will I keep my unlimited data? I ordered it prior to June 28th. I've read conflicting info about restocking fees. Do I need to refuse delivery from Fedex or can I accept delivery and go through normal return methods without being charged a fee? Paying $35 to return a phone that's still in its shrink wrap seems ridiculous.
I'm also trying to decide whether I'd prefer a Galaxy Nexus. I know that if I return the S3 and then try to re-use my upgrade, I'll lose unlimited data. Is there a way for me to do a direct exchange of one device for the other, so that I'm not technically cancelling one upgrade and re-using it?

I would just refuse delivery if you don't want the phone. If you
return this phone your upgrade will fall under the new upgrade after June 28,
2012 and as such you will have to move to the new plans when you upgrade at
subsidized prices. You do have the right to return for exchange I was told by VZW rep
but then again your mileage may vary as to what you do.  It is not a set thing and no one
at VZW will always to the samething in all locations.  Again buyer beware.  The last phone I
returned by just not accepting delivery which was just late last year VZW
charged the restocking fee but I mentioned to the person I called that it was
still not opened.  They said the phone
still had to go back as an opened phone as they had to open the package to make
sure everything was in the box as the shrink wrap could have been re-shrunk by
someone else in shipping.  They told me
they did not take any returns without an inspection of the contents.  I hope your mileage will vary with your
return.  Once they go back they go to
refurbished phones?  I have been seeing
people complain they are getting new phones with no battery cover and VZW tells
them to return them which I am sure VZW will charge the re-stocking fee
anyway.  These issues are why I don’t
order phones off the web site.  I only
    purchase from a VZW store.

  • Goodbye unlimited data for IPad 3G customers.  Welcome to AT&T after June 7

    http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=17991&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=30854&mapcod e=financial%7CWireless
For new iPad customers, the $25 per month 2 GB plan will replace the existing $29.99 unlimited plan. iPad customers will continue to pre-pay for their wireless data plan and no contract is required. Existing iPad customers who have the $29.99 per month unlimited plan can keep that plan or switch to the new $25 per month plan with 2 GB of data.
    http://www.macrumors.com/
"AT&T also announced that they have changed the iPad 3G data plan for new customers after June 7th.
At present, AT&T offers a no-contract $29.99/month unlimited data plan specifically for iPad owners. If you activate your data plan before June 7th, you can still participate in this plan. After June 7th, however, AT&T will be replacing that plan with a $25/month 2GB limited plan. From the press release:
For new iPad customers, the $25 per month 2 GB plan will replace the existing $29.99 unlimited plan. iPad customers will continue to pre-pay for their wireless data plan and no contract is required. Existing iPad customers who have the $29.99 per month unlimited plan can keep that plan or switch to the new $25 per month plan with 2 GB of data.
So, if this is an issue for you, you still have time to be grandfathered into the unlimited data plan. Existing iPad customers can look at their current data usage via their iPad settings."

    Got this off of cnet.com:
    http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20006534-1.html
“But nobody will be forced to switch. If users are happy with their current plan then they can keep it, which we expect many to do. In fact, AT&T tells us, *"[Users] are not required to switch to the new plans if they renew their contract or switch to another smartphone.* However, if they switch to one of the new plans, they will not be able to go back to their old unlimited plan." The only downside is that legacy iPhone plans won't get tethering, so there are some things to consider for some.”
Hopefully that will remain the case. I have unlimited on both my iPhone and iPad and like the freedom of watching as many videos and surfing the net as much as I want. On TUAW the article was saying it was likely that AT&T would force those "grandfathered" into changing to a new data plan when they renewed. The above article pretty much says that AT&T is claiming that whether we renew or switch to another smartphone and don't switch data plans that we should be ok.
    I'll keep my fingers crossed!

  • How long does it really take to get my unlimited data plan back?

So Wednesday morning I go into a local Verizon owned-and-operated store to buy a Galaxy S5 on installment plan, like I did for my GS4 a year ago. Get talked into an Edge phone plan and the More plan, and they get that unlimited data plan off my line as fast as possible and then find that I can't get Edge for another 3 weeks. So we revert the changes (in theory), less than half an hour after the original change.
So I'm just standing there reading twitter and waiting for them to fix the situation and get me back to where I was when I walked in. I was actually willing to go ahead and buy a GS5 on installment plan (as I'd wanted to when I came in), but they *really* did not want me to do that. They got the voice plan back, and put me on a 2GB plan (which is 1/3 of my average usage), telling me I'd be back on my unlimited plan with hotspot service "by the end of the business week."
Today as I'm checking at the end of the business week, no sign of my data plan or hotspot service. The folks on the social media team tell me that my service might be crippled for another 10 days while an offline team tries to fix what the folks in the store broke.
Am I really out of luck for two weeks? I got a GS5 on T-Mobile with 5GB of data, which will get me by... TMO didn't seem offended that I wanted a GS5. But if I have to "be careful" with my data (as the store manager put it) on Verizon for two weeks, I may as well forward the phone and power it off.
At least I know never to set foot in this particular Verizon store again... last year they wouldn't sell me a GS4 "in case someone came in and wanted to upgrade" so I went to another nearby location. If my plans get unbroken, I'll either go to that other location or check eBay for my GS5.

Think of this and be amazed. If Verizon is trying its best to get customers off unlimited data by any means possible, and quite frankly tell you once you purchase any device on subsidy or the Edge program you lose unlimited. Now the Worry Free Guarantee states within 14 days if you change your mind you can pay a $35 restocking fee, and go back to your old plan.
However they no longer offer unlimited data so they give you this line of it has to be set back manually (inactive price request) and then it gets denied. Then they say it has to be submitted again for approval and then it gets denied. So why have a worry free guarantee?
And think to yourself, a plan they can remove in minutes takes them weeks to give back? They don't give it back. Search the forum.
    Good Luck

  • If you have unlimited data and plan to upgrade "BE WARNED"

This is just an FYI to all those who may fall into the trap I did. I wish I had know about this prior so I would have made my choices accordingly.
VSW has changed the upgrade plans for those with older unlimited data plans. If you use a line upgrade to get a smartphone that line not only gets the 24 month contract but you will also be forced into a min of $30/month data plan.
I have 3 phones on my account. 1 of them have unlimited data and the other two are simple flip phones (no data).
For 3 years I have used one of these non-data plan lines to upgrade the smartphone and then would move the phone to the unlimited line and the flip phone back to the non-data line. This worked great as my 2 non-data lines had contracts that ended on opposite years.
This last time I upgraded, In January, I explained to the sales person what I wanted to do, they told me they do this all the time and they would take care of it.
My Feb bill was a bit higher than I expected so I called support. I showed them the $30 data fee and how I did not want this on a flip phone. They stated oh yes we understand, will fix it and credit you. Perfect I thought. Sure enough March's bill came and the credit was there but the $30 data charge had not been removed. I called support again and this time they dropped the hammer on me.
My credit was an "Inconvience" credit, it was a range of $3-$8 per line, it was not a reversal of the $30 data charge. This is when I find out that VZW has now changed thier smartphone plan upgrades for accounts who are on grandfarthered in plans. If I switch to thier current plan, ie lose my unlimited data then they are more than happy to remove the data charge. So now I'm stuck paying $30 a month for the next 22 months = $660 in charges for something I will not use. A full contract 24 months $30/month is $720 which is more that the cost of most smartphones.
If this is your situation please be sure you have all the facts prior to getting tricked into a contract worth more that the darn phone you get for "FREE!!!!"

According to VZW support this was a policy change in 8/14, 7 months ago(ish), I'm not claiming this is brand new but I am telling others who have been with VZW for many years and still like the less expensive package they have had for those many years need to be aware that this is the rule now. In attempts to force those long term customers to go to a more expensive plan that offers far less service they have implemented this.
I do understand this policy now and certainly will no longer use the upgrades however I wanted to offer my story as a heads up to any other potential person from running into this situation.

  • Have a Friends and Family plan. I have unlimited data and want to keep it. Questions on what I can and can not do with account changes.

    Ok,
So I am on Friends and Family 2000minutes and unlimited Text.
    4 phones.
My phone has Unlimited Data and Hotspot
Other 3 do not have any data.
I am curious what I can do and can't do that will keep keep the plan as is and not force things to share everything.
I am allowed to have 5 phones under this plan. I am curious about adding and deleting phones.
I did try and add a 5th phone. When I tried to activate a 5th phone online it would not let me do it. Tried to get me to change plans.
Here are a few scenarios that I see coming up in the future.
I would like to add a 5th phone. My father has an account and I would like to roll him into my plan instead of his own account. I have already done this once before many years ago with no problem with 2 of the lines that I currently have. Is this possible or is that enough to trigger the move share everything scenario.
Second. how about removing a line from my plan?
One of my numbers is for an 18YO that wants to be more independent and have their own account. Can I down the road either transfer that line and number to its own account which would be share everything (I do understand that). Or can I delete that line from the account without triggering the share everything scenario?
Also it seems when I look online I can change data plans currently three phones are on data block. Can I actually change them to a data plan within the Friends and family or is the Share everything scenario triggered. What about if I change them to a smart phone from their basic/feature phone. I know I can't get unlimited data but can I still get them on my friends and family tiered data plan?
    What is up.
    Thank You

yes to everything; you can add a line (up to 5 total for Family Share), drop a line, upgrade a basic line to a smartphone (and then add a tiered data plan) and stay on your current calling plan ... it may be easier done in your local Corporate Verizon store, though ... just be sure they don't try to switch you to Share Everything if that's not what you want

  • Can I transfer an unlimited data plan from one line to another?

When I upgraded my phone I lost my unlimited data.  My wife and I are on a family plan.  She still has unlimited data on her line, but rarely uses any data.  Is it possible to shift her unlimited data to my line and my 2gb plan to her line?

No. You can't transfer features between the lines on the account.
You could switch which number you use. You start using her phone number and she uses yours.

  • Regrets giving up unlimited data

I have had the unlimited data plan for 2 years or so. however when I was renewing my plan months ago the customer service agents told me that to get the cell phone for the discounted prices you have to give up the unlimited plan. Then they stated convincing me about how the average American user barely uses 2Gb a month, and that from my previous usage history it's obvious that I will never need more than 6 Gb/m and my bill will be even cheaper. However, all of that turned out to be absolutely untrue. If I would go back in time I would definitely pay the full price for the phone just to keep my unlimited plan.
Now, I have been trying to live with this plan for months and it's unbearable, one month I had to upgrade from 4Gb to 6Gb and then to 8Gb and I am still about to exceed my limit and the bill was huge. I honestly don't mind paying too much if I would feel like am getting something back in return, but to pay $300+ on a phone bill and be so anxious and cautious about the limits and usage etc. is just so frustrating. Whenever I am streaming a video or looking up something online, I have to check my Data usage. Assuming that I upgraded to 12Gb and my bill got to be $350-400, I would understand paying that much to have some peace of mind and not having to keep tracking and being anxious about exceeding the limits.
The thing is we all agree Verizon is the best service in the market, the best in everything but what's the point of have such awesome service when you can't even use it? Especially that with these new smartphones, the best part is to stream and be online when you are away from home, because if am at home I would just use my laptop or tablet. They keep talking about the best and the fastest 4G service, oh but hold on you can use it only to browse every now and then or maybe stream a very short video or use navigation. But not to stream anything for more than 15mins, otherwise you have to look for a hotspot at Starbucks or McDonalds,  oh and also you still have to pay the most expensive bill in the market.
I have actually recommended Verizon to a lot of my friends and family members, I got my uncle and his family and my brother and his family to end their contracts with their previous carriers and to switch to Verizon. Sarcastically, I am the one now thinking about leaving, even though I don't want to, but when I see that I am paying $300 a month and not getting anything in return, but phone calls and text mess. and barely any 4G.
After a lot of thinking, I ended up calling customer service to see what would I owe if I was to end the contract, I have been asked to pay $1000+ in termination fees. What is going on with Verizon, how do you guys treat your customers like that, at least give you customer options when they want to stay with you. I won't mind my bill being $350, 400, or even $450 if I would feel like am getting something in return, but to still be on the limited plan, this is nonsense. What is the problem if Verizon was to offer an unlimited plan to whoever wants it for extra money, and when you talk to the agents about it they say they had to make it limited so that they will be fair to whoever isn't using much data and to not force them to pay for the unlimited. Now they are forcing us to stay on the limited data. I would like to pay more and stay on the unlimited why won't u let me choose that. Oh no, you have to stay on the limited plan and at the same time you can't leave because of the $1000+ termination fees. So, either not use your phone or we will hit you with termination fees. Choose one or the other but no other options. I believe what they have done now is the most unfair, talking about trying to make it fair to other customer who don't use much is nothing but justification to an unfair process. If you wanted that, you could have just added a new plan where you can limit your data and pay less, but at least don't take away our options of having unlimited plan and leave it for whoever is ready and willing to pay more. Because whatever I do, even If I upgraded to 20Gb and my bill is $500 am still limited and can't stream as much as I want.
End of the story, my bill did not get much cheaper as I was told, (maybe $30 cheaper or so), on the other hand I lost the most valuable thing about being with Verizon which is the 4G. All I can say is that I feel like I am using my smartphone just to make phone calls, text messages and maybe some browsing or Nav and my bill is $300. Is this what Verizon calls fair? I would rather get a prepaid phone through any carrier with unlimited text and calls and just use the internet through any Hotspot (which is what I am doing now) and my bill will be 1/3 what I am paying now. However, I am stuck with them for two years because of the $1000 termination fees. I would just like to mention again that I don't want to leave Verizon but they are forcing us to, because of their unfairness. Also, if you can't offer your customers a resolution for their issues, don't ask them to pay a termination fee of $1000+, because you guys aren't offering alternative services. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO?

"$1000 termination fees" tells me you have multiple lines, as a single smart phone is only $350 ETF at the beginning of the contract, pro-rated -$10 a month each month you are into your contract.
You obviously are not a new customer, did you not have a 4G phone before?  If your using up 6-8+gb a month, it might be time to stop streaming Netflix all day.

  • Will I lose my unlimited date plan if...

....I simply switch to a 4G LTE device?
I am currently using a family members upgrade in order to switch to the iPhone 5. I am not upgrading on my account because I don't have an upgrade. I am simply switching phones. So will I still lose my unlimited data plan? The policy states that customers upgrading to a 4G LTE device will lose their plan. But again, I'm not actually upgrading...just transferring my number to a a new device.

        Hi there KM536986 and community!
Getting the new iPhone 5 is super exciting! This would be considered "providing your own equipment" if you bring the phone from an outside source, such as another account.
This means you will not lose your Unlimited Data plan.  Keep in mind that the warranty provided through us directly doesn't transfer, but Apple still provides warranty for the year you have the phone.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hello, I really don't know where to ask this question, so I hope I'm posting it in the right location. I transitioned from the iPhone 3GS to the new iPhone 4S. On my older iPhone, I NEVER received text messages from Facebook (which is a good thing).
