It´s possible to call to Adobe Professional 8 with Indesign scripting (.jsx) [JS/CS3] ?

Hello, I would like to know if it´s possible to communicate with Adobe Professional through a Indesign script (.jsx). I need to convert the pdf file that I export from Indesign to specific standard type that is only available in Adobe Professional.
I want to save the Indesign generated file with Adobe Professional and obtain the pdf that I particularly need.
I would like to know if there is a way to do this.

That's nothing!
An engineer and I contacted Adobe technical support by phone to ensure the PC I was having custom built was configured to its optimum. They advised XP64 as the best operating environment. After that discussion we had to completely revise procurement, etc to get the bits and compatible XP64 compatible software, putting the build project back a few weeks as well, Imagine how I laughed when I found out on one of these forums that XP64 is the worst choice and totally unsupported by CS4!
I have written to Shantanu Narayen, Adobe CEO and didn't even get an acknowledgement I raised this last week on the Adobe stand at BVE and was told they'd get someone to contact me asap but guess what, niet...! To be fair there has been one Adobe executive that recognises the problem and the damage poor customer support is causing the company; he has been as helpful as he can. Unfortunately, it seems the overall Adobe culture at the top is "get the money and run". If your problem goes beyond what's already on their web pages, tough luck!

i am trying to generate the pdf data source inside a custom function module,
the function module will call the FUNCTION 'FP_JOB_OPEN' , then call the function module of the pdf interface. then get the pdf data back and return.
but at run time i got the error message:
FPRUNX101, the job already started.
then the program stopped.
i checked the service market place, there is a note for that:858325 Message "Job already started" when you display PDF forms .
according to the notes,it seems that it's only possible to call the pdf generated function module in a program.
my question is , is there a way to call that in a funciton module?

At runtime, a PDF-based form is called using a generated function module. If you use the new interface, it is necessary to set the function modules FP_JOB_OPEN and FP_JOB_CLOSE as control structures with one or several generated function modules. In order for the single test from Transaction SFP to work simultaneously, however, the system checks for the test environment of Transaction SE37 (in which the test ultimately runs) in the single test. In this case, the function modules FP_JOB_OPEN or FP_JOB_CLOSE are called automatically.
If you then test a function module that calls a PDF based form and therefore calls the function module FP_JOB_OPEN itself, this leads to the error message mentioned above.
Solution
The test should be carried out using a program that in turn calls the function module to be tested.

the fm can not test direct in se37, it should be wrapped by a program.

I am wondering if there is a way to call a function coded in JavaScript from a field event that is coded in FormCalc in Designer 8.
If so, I should be able to reference the same global variables in each language correct?

That is what I want to do. I have tables that I have simple FormCalc calculations on to total the fields. I want to then compare the totats of the fields to make sure they are equal. That is where I am using the if else statment with JavaScript. But for some reason it isn't working.It is the first part of my IF statement that doesn't do anything - when I go to the form and make them all equal I don't get the "boo" message (I am just trying to learn )

Possible to create medium res .pdf file with InDesign CS5?

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to create a medium res .pdf file with InDesign CS5?
I'm working with a client and have been sending him both high res and low res files of a catalog project. High res .pdf is 12.8MB and low res is 1.2MB. He is asking whether I can create something in between the two, say somewhere around 6 to 8 MB.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

PDFs do not have a resolution. The graphics within do, however..
Look at the downsampling settings and experiment until you get what you want.

Problem with Adobe Professional 7 saving the identify prefrence when it is typed in.

I am running Adobe Professional 7 with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. When I enter my prefrences by going to Edit>Prefrences, it does not save my data. Do you think that if I go to Adobe Professional 8 or higher, that this will resolve the problem with this issue?

If it was woorking before for you and not now, you can try 'Repair Acrobat' by navigating to the 'Help' menu.
Since you are using the latest OS and Office versions it's recommended you buy the latest Acrobat 11 as it's compatible with Windows 7 / 8 and Office 2010

OK, so it's a plain Flex security issue, not related to the Connect application, probably due to crossdomain misconfiguration.

Are you unable to delete pages from any PDF, or is the problem specific to one file? If it's just one file, is it possible that the document has permissions applied that would prevent you from modifying the file? (You would see "SECURED" in the title bar of the PDF if it's been secured.) (Also, make sure that the file is open in Acrobat Pro, not Adobe Reader--I always have the two open simultaneously, and sometimes don't realize which one I'm working in.)
If the problem is widespread, what's changed on your system?

Saving a PDF form with Adobe Professional

I have Adobe professional with LiveCycle. I want to create a simple form that I sent to people. They fill it out and send it back. But the forms I create don't allow me to save changes when I open them in a Reader. This is so basic! I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When you work with live cycle designer you create your form and you save it. Then, when you want to send it to people you use the assistant with create 2 other different files :
1) A publication form that you will send by mail
2) A blank form that you will fill with information the user sent to you
So, call the assistant create the 2 files but don't send them to people and save them locally. Open the second file and fill it in reader, you will see you will save change.

This is probably a new precaution that Apple has taken to alert folks that something has occurred with their account that has not occurred before*, namely a Mac has downloaded something from their account that has not done so before. And as the notice says, if it was you doing so, then you may safely ignore the notice. Also, do not be alarmed, Apple refers to all downloads as purchases, even when they are free.
But if you are truly concerned about the notice then you can authorize the Mac with your iTunes account, which should be the same as your MAS account. Open iTunes on the older Mac and sign into your account. Then in the Store menu choose Authorize This Computer. Now this Mac is definitely associated with your account and can now play media that you purchase from the iTunes Store as well.
*My banks do the same thing when I pop up making a purchase with my bank cards somewhere in the world I have never made a purchase before. They call me and email me and want to know if it is indeed me using the card.

Is it possible if I use Adobe Acrobat reader to input data in PDF file that is generated by interactive form using web dynpro or Abap program. I try to use acrobat reader. It can not input anything into PDF Form but I'm not sure it may be can or not.
After I change PC that is install Adobe Acrobat Professional (offline: I save pdf file form web browser). It can input data into PDF Form.

1) You only need a Adobe Reader (Version 7.0.9 or higher) to enter and Save data in Adobe form. Just install the latest version of Adobe reader (8.x)

2) Please make sure you are creating Interactive Forms, and not Print Forms. for example, if you're using Java Web Dynpro, you need to enter the following code to make the form Interactive (so data can be saved within):

Everybody continues to use different names to refer to the application from Adobe that Wikipedia calls
"The Adobe Flash Professional multimedia authoring program". I find myself using different names every time in discussions with my colleagues, though, since the term "authoring tool" doesn't really resonate with anyone. And it's rarely used as an "IDE", amongst any of my programmer colleagues.
What do you call it?

The LoadLibrary() Win32 call is used to find the physical DLL and load it into memory. This API call first look in the current directory for the file, and then uses the PATH environmental variable to try and find the file.
Thus you need to make sure PATH is properly set. A Win32 process runs in a 32bit VM (Virtual Machine). Been a very long time since I did Windows server side development, but as I recall this VM inherits the default o/s environment (unlike Unix where the parent process environment is inherited).
You can set the environment using the Properties menu of the System desktop icon (or via Control Panel).
However.. Oracle does not run as your user. Typically it is installed as the o/s user Oracle and this user owns all the Oracle processes (listener, instance, etc).
So you will need to make sure that this user's environment is correctly configured... Further more than this, I'm out of my depth. Did a lot of Windows stuff back in the 90's, but for many years now I'm only using Unix/Linux professionally - with Windows being my console platform for playing games at home. :-)
On the Linux/Unix side, I configure the environment variable via the Listener. E.g. Under the entry SID_LIST_LISTENER, I configure the external procedure handler as follows:

I am missing PDF Printer (PDFMaker), have reinstalled Adobe Professional and even did a repair making sure I added the PDFMaker options - it still will not add the PDF Printer (PDFMaker) option - which is necessar to use with our document comparison softw

Please help me add back the PDF Printer - I am missing the PDF Printer (PDFMaker) and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Professional 10, I have tried repairing it and made sure the options for PDFMaker are selected, to no avail. I need the PDF Printer to use with our document comparison product, using the add printer options and adding the Adobe converters doesn't fix this issue either, it just adds an option to convert documents to PDF to a local folder which doesn't fix the issue.
I have a contract for Adobe Support but cannot reach a technician by 1-800 number, does anyone (1) have a solution to this problem? and (2) a telephone number for which I can call for assistance?
