The 1998 iMac predates the introduction of Firewire. So yes, it is limited to 10.3.9. Sonnett did offer an upgrade to the iMac to allow it to have Firewire. I don't know if this enabled 10.4 or not. XPostfacto also offered unsupported 10.4 for older iMacs. But Spotlight and Dashboard are very slow if you can't upgrade to a minimum of 256 MB of RAM, and preferably 512MB of RAM. Look at http://www.everymac.com/ to find out your Max.

Is it possible to render the clips individually and relink- such as with Color/fcp?

I'm fairly new to Ae/ PP, and am trying to figure out a good workflow for grading (using resolve lite) Basically, I need to denoise my footage first (neat video) and then send that footage to Resolve, then back to pp. Now, this works fine with Resolve's scene detector as it can cut up the footage, but if there are any dissolves, etc, then I need to do this via xml instead.
What I would like to do is: Edit in PP. Send to AE to denoise, render (the denoise need to happen before grading) and replace the original files with the new denoised clips in pp. Then send the xml to Resolve. So far this would work if it wasn't for AE rendering everything into one clip, eliminating the cuts/layers.
Is it possible to render the clips individually and relink- such as with Color/fcp? If not, any other workflow that could work for me?
Hope someone can help- dynamic link is driving me up the wall.

Simply use Dynamic Link to send your whole timeline to AE or use AE's Premiere project import. Then once you have a working AE project, you can use scripts like rdPreCompose to create separate sub-comps for each clip which in turn you then can render separately. Still, the limitation will always be the kind of transitions you use. Essentialyl you should avoid anything that isn't a hard cut or simple cross dissolve 'cos there's no way to recreate it in AE without eating up the handle of your footage. You'd essentialyl be shooting yourself in teh foot if you jump ahead too far in Premiere and already add too much finishing there.

I am facing issues in creating adhoc network in Windows 8.1. After searching in internet, I found that adhoc works with
netsh commands.
1. I have tried neths commands and able to get it work on windows 8.1,
but I want to do it through the WLAN APIs ie. WlanConnect ,
2. I am able to initiate the adhoc network(on Windows 8.1) by using WlanConnect API and other device are also able to connect to the Windows8.1 initiated adhoc network but the DHCP is not working.
-> clients are not able to get the IP address.
Is it possible to create the adhoc network and get it work with WLAN APIs (WlanConnect) instead of netsh commands...?

Possible to do the 3d motion tracking text in video with only adobe products?

I am very interested in doing some 3d text in some video with motion tracking, such as you see in the opening shots in the show Fringe.
You will have a scene of maybe a street in the city, the camera is looking forward and moving, you have 3d block text that seems to be just hovering there up off the ground but looks like a real physical 3d object in the shot as the camera moves around.
I have been looking up tutorials for this in After effects on youtube but they always use other non adobe products as well such as boujou or 3ds max, I am wondering if it is possible to make the same shot with only adobe products. If so, what whould I use other than after effects. And lastly, can anyone point me to a good free tutorial using only adobe programs if there is one out there?
I have seen one video of someone adding text to a moving video but it was flat or plastered onto a wall and not the nice block letters that look like a sculpture in the video.

No, you can't and that settles all your other questions. For tutorials, refer to VideoCoPilot's matchmoving and set extension stuff, but even then you will need to at least use some comemrcial third-party plug-ins.

Is it possible to change the settings in AR Properties Advanced tab with Adobe Acrobat XI?

I noticed when I went to print a PDF double sided, that despite the following the guidelines from Adobe on this process, it still printed single sided. I checked the properties of the PDF itself and on the Advanced tab, the DuplexMode was set to Simplex and was greyed out.
Is it possible to change the settings in that tab with Adobe Acrobat XI?

or create we are unable to print double sided on our mac mini¹s. I didn¹t
make it clear in my question that we were fine on Windows XP, but, having
recently changed to Mac have encountered this frustrating problem.
I did a lot of research prior to recording the question and it appears I am
not the only one who has come across this problem, and I have followed the
guidelines that Adobe promote on their website to be able to print double
sided, which doesn¹t work on the mac mini Osx Mavericks.
Because the Properties, Advanced tab has ³Print Dialog Presets² that are set
to simplex and greyed out I took that to mean that no matter what printer
settings I make, and I think I¹ve gone through all that I can, the pdf will
not print double sided on Mac but will on XP.
Sorry this isn¹t the reply you must have been hoping for and look forward to
receiving further advice in regard to this matter.

I am trying to use the Netgear WNR 2000 V3's repeater function to wirelessly extend the range of a Linksys WRT54GX V.2. I have the SSID's and channels the same. I had the Netgear working great as an extender with my Apple Airport Extreme base station (equipped with WDS). As far as I know, the Linksys is not equipped with WDS. Thanks for any help.

My wrt54g version 3.0 has lazy WDS with the latest cisco/linksys firmware. I'm not familiar with your model and don't know what firmware you're running on it. Maybe update the firmware if it needs it.
Not sure it would be compatible w/ netgear anyway.
You could always try third party firmware such as ddwrt if your linksys model supports it. But not sure if that would be compatible either.

Yes, you can do so by customizing a copy of the logoncontrolmessages.xml located in the <OracleBI Home>\web\msgdb\messages folder.

SharePoint 2013 comes with a built-in "format handler" for PDF now, so it can index PDF files out of the box. This is great for most users, as it now no longer is necessary to install a third-party IFilter for crawling PDF documents.
My question is, is it possible to override the built-in format handler for PDF with a custom IFilter for PDF? I played with the Set-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormatState and Remove-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormat cmdlets. While it is possible to deactivate
the built-in format handler, I was not able to remove it and to create a new one that activates a custom IFilter for PDF files.
Background of the question: While the new built-in format handler for PDF will probably be sufficient for many SharePoint users, some need additional capabilities regarding indexing if PDF documents, e.g. extraction of custom metadata from PDF's document
information dictionary and embedded XMP metadata. PDFlib GmbH, the company I work form, sells an IFilter for PDF, and of course we would like to continue to offer this for SharePoint 2013.

You should be able to replace it with any ifilter you want, this is the procedure for installing it:
Install PDF iFilter 9.0 (64 bit) from

Download PDF icon picture from Adobe web site

I'm SAP Basis guy, I've been asked by our functional team if it would be possible to change the default spool request title.
Our endusers have access to transaction SP01, where every morning, they can see the spools request that have been generated during the execution of night batches.
Currently, the default spool name is displayed :
Title or name of spool request LIST1S LOCL ZREPORTSUFFIX (in transactions sm37 and sp01)
Is it possible to change the default name of this spool request with some abap coding ?

goto transaction SPAD and change the default values as you require but i doubt whether you would be able to change the spool title after the job has been triggered i think it is nt possible

We have a Time Warner router and have it hardwired to an Airport Express. Is it possible to extend the range of that one airport express with a second airport express?

... The new AirPort Express that I have is an 802.11n version, but the second one is an older model and I don't know which version it might be. Also, the system recently updated so I'm using the AirPort Utility 6.1.
If you are using Mountain Lion, AirPort Utility 6.1 is the version installed by default. It will not be able to administer "older" AirPort base stations.
For them, use AirPort Utility 5.6 which contains the features you need. It can administer your older Express as well as current production base stations.
AU 5.6 is compatible with Lion as well as Mountain Lion, however, the installer app will refuse to install it on Mountain Lion.
This dilemma is easily solved though. You simply need to extract the app from the installer package using a package extractor like Pacifist.

If you happen to have an archived copy of the AU 5.6 app somewhere, such as a Time Machine backup or equivalent, you can simply restore it or drag the app to your Mountain Lion system's Utilities folder. It will run without complaint. It is only the package installer that is the problem.
Mountain Lion will not allow you to delete its existing version of AirPort Utility. Just ignore it. It and the older version (which will bear the unique name "AirPort Utility 5.6") can peacefully coexist.
Note: For those with Leopard or Snow Leopard systems you need AirPort Utility 5.6.1 (this is confusing - a later AirPort Utility version for an earlier OS X version - but it is correct).

Hi,
Without investigating deeper for this specific error message, I can say that the messages that cannot be maintained through OBA5 will in some cases remain in the system even if maintained in OBMSG. If message is not allowed for change in OBA5 and there is no OSS note regarding this message, it means that SAP designed it this way. Changing the nature in OBMSG (which is not standard or recommended SAP operation) will not always save the problem; the message could be simply hard-coded in the program with 'E' attribute.

Can the rescue and recovery function be infect with a trojan virus?

I had some trouble with trojan viruses. My scan software detected malware on my system which I deleted with the help of the antivirus software antivir (free version) and with the software malwarebytes.
My thinkpad r51 is still running and virus scans do not show any problems any more. But I am not quite sure if I can trust the scans. So I am thinking about to format the harddisk and setup a new system. Or to use the rescue and recovery function which says that the system will be put back to its initial state. Is it really possible to bring the system back to its original state with help of rescue and recovery? ? I am a little bit afraid that the rescue and recovery function might be infected too? How does the function work? Can the system really be put back to its original state?

Hi,
if you have a virus on your system, then there is a realy small chance, that the virus got also into the Service Partition.
So in this situation if you want to restore the system , then after the restore finish, the virus should surely be gone.
Service partition is a protected partition, which content can not be accessed just like that .

Is it possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external system without SAP PI?

as asked in the title, i am wondering if it is possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external (non-SAP) system without using SAP PI/XI. The external system is a middleware application which can handle RFC functions, IDocs besides the usual web service communications.
However, i don't know how LSO and SAP PI are integrated so i wonder if their interfaces are such that instead of SAP PI another middleware could be used.

Web Services are used. If you were to implement the services in your 3rd party middleware and configure SAP to call it, I suppose it is possible. The external course catalog can be used for CourseEnrollment and LearningProgress. See the application help for details. Don't expect to receive support from SAP with such a setup however.
