It's soooooo slooooow help!!

I have been trying to solve this thing for a long while. If I drag and drop a picture on to iweb, it changes it to .png which is okay. However it also changes the file size, so if I upload a gif, jpeg or even a png in 90K it changes it to 668K every time, and the page loads soooooooo slow.
I'm getting really frustrated here. Almost can't show my webpage to anyone, it's just so slow.
Does anyone know how to solve this? I've tried everything regarding changing of image size, but iWeb just changes it back.

The object is to get your image completely ready outside of iWeb so that iWeb doesn't have to do anything to the image. That means sizing the photo down to whatever resolution you need (height and width dimensions in pixels) and also applying any effects like frame borders, drop shadows, rotation, reflections, etc.
Once you have your image ready. Drag and drop it into iWeb. Open the Inspector and click to the Ruler tab...click on the button that says "Use Original Size". Don't do anything else to the photo except to drag it into position.
This way, your small jpg will be used as is. Anything other changes in iWeb will cause the PNG conversion. This is a well known behavior of iWeb and the workaround is the only choice we have at this time.

I've buyed an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD hoping that I'll upgrading and boosting my WIN 7 Ultimate speed. Not my day .... it goes soooooo slooooow. I've tryed bothways, that is, copying the System partition to the new SSD, and new installing the WIN7 Ultimate on the SSD drive.
I've searched the net over SSD behaving slow issues and the only relevant things that I've found were that I have to enable the AHCI HDD access option in BIOS, option that I don't have in my BIOS.
Any help aprecciated!!!

Please post the HP product number for the PC.
Do you know what firmware level your Vertex 3 is running? Firmware version 2.22 is the latest. If your firmware is 2.06 of lower then you must update incrementally. I wouldn't update the firmware if you should decide to return the SSD. See my below information.
I believe that the MSI motherboard only has SATA I which is very slow for a VERTEX 3 which to run at full performance. Frankly, I am surprised that the VERTEX 3 even runs on a SATA I port as many SATA III SSDs will not run on a SATA I port. Review this OCZ VERTEX 3 document.
You might want to see if you can return and exchange the SSD for another that is backwards compatible to SATA I. Perhaps the Vertex-2 or Agility-2 would run better for your needs.

I have a 1 year old MacBook Pro and am having trouble with my wifi connection. I connect via Qwest DSL. After an hour on the phone with Qwest and lots of tinkering, I've confirmed that everything but my Macbook connects at about 12mbps. My wifi connection, however, is .5mbps. Any ideas? The Qwest person was nice, but basically said the problem was with my mac. Please help!
Have you tried to connect to a different network - maybe a friend's wifi or a coffee shop? That would help determine if it's your internet connection or your computer. I have a mid-2009 MBP and I'm getting 20mbs download speeds (Comcast). So it's either your ISP or something weird going on with your system.

But it didn't used to be like this. When I first installed Bootcamp and installed Windows 7 to the second partition, dual booting from the Options key was relatively quick. It started to get bogged down after a few months, but resetting the PRAM took care of it and it returned to its speedy self.
But since the last big OSX update, it seems to take longer to load into the OSX itself too. Did the update changed the way it read the partition tables when dual booting? When I reboot from the startup disk pane - it sets that disk as the default. I'd like the default to remain as Windows partition with the only occassionaly trips to the "dark side" OSX. ;-) -

My measurements (on a 1.2 GHz PIII notebook running JSE 5.0 shows that the avarage execution time to convert a fairly complex string to a list takes only around 12 microseconds - not much room for improvement. Your original version took about 4 times as long pimarily due to cost of StringBuffer and conversion of string to int which mine avoids. The use of ArrayList instead of Vector had little effect.
NOTE - microbenchmarks are a little tricky and therefore your mileage may vary.

ITunes is taking ages to boot and wont detect my devices please help
I am having major issues with iTunes. Im running on a Dell inspiron 1525 with running iTunes Windows Vista 32bit. My devices are iPhone4 and iPad3 all running 5.1.1. And there are no other devices connected or any other accounts open on laptop. And ive done a full scan using McAfee for Virus's
When i launch itunes (even running as admin) it takes several minutes to open. The loading cursar appears on desktop for around 3 minutes, then the iTunes tab appears in taskbar however its none responedent. A few minutes later it will open up. I can access everything as normal but when i plug any of my devices in iTunes doesnt detect any of them. Windows detects they are plugged in bringing up the "autoplay" and they are there in "computer" but itunes will not detect. When i run diagnostics all reports come back green including the USB check but the device check come back red.
The only changes that have been made since i was last able to use iTunes succesfully have been all devices updated to 5.1.1 (via the software update in the iPhone/iPad settings not via iTunes) and a connection upgrade from standard sky broadband to sky fibre ( so new router and Openreach Modem) and i have also reserved a static ip for my wifi connection. but if switched of the wifi and laptop rebooted and no diffrence so i dont think this has anything to do with it.
Ive tired uninstalling iTunes,Apple Devices,Quicktime etc and rebooting and reinstalling but it does exactly the same thing. Its driving me crazy now to the point im debating a full reinstall of laptop. I just know from previous problems with iTunes that it will be something silly and trivial conflicting with it. Ive googled to find others with the exact same problem but cant find any soloutions.
If anyone has any answers i would be soooooo very greatfull.
Thankshi, Thanks for your message... yes I used the Kodak disk to remove the printer so it was completely uninstalled as it has Bonjour on it as well (which I think has been causing a seperate issue with Iphoto loading every time I turn on my mac.
I had a play yesterday, uninstalled Kodak printer, ran PRAM, ran disk utility to check everything was ok and I was still getting that dodgy white screen with black characters on it so I then tried reinstalling SL and it seems to have helped slightly.. boot is still A LOT slower than it was with Leo but it's only about a minute now instead of 5!!
I will take a look at the Kodak website and see if there's anything there... thanks -
I have recently had something really odd happen within iphoto. My photos from May-Oct 2013 appeared to be missing from my primary Iphoto library.
last night I was trying to find any additional Iphoto libraries on my Imac... I could not find them... but then somehow the May-Oct 2013 library showed up and now I cannot find the "current" primary Iphoto library. I sought help from apple care today but no solutoin from them after 2 hours trying. I have timemachine that backs up my Imac each day to an external hard drive. When I open Iphoto while holding down the "option" key - it lets me choose which Iphoto library... but only (1) library comes up... I can't figure out what happened - but it seems that I must have more than one Iphoto library because yesterday I was able to see all my photos except the "gap in dates" from May-Oct 2013. Today - I can only open a Library called Iphoto2014... and it contains the photos from the gap in dates. I can't "see" any other options to open photos... but just yesterday there appeared to be a different library available.

Encore CS6 crash during build. help please URGENT

this is my first dvd in encore but I did lots of dvd on dvdstudio.
My project has 1 main menu, 5 submenus. 2 timeline and more than 50 chapter list access by these sub menus. with option of play once, loop etc.
Check dvd only bring back an error that Im ignoring cause it says that one timeline has no end action, and also it is orphan. don't care cause all chapter are select by chapter playlist to reduce the amount of size
anyway I don't think it is something wrong with the authoring, maybe something I missing during the menu creation I did all of them in PS thru adobe dynamic link
The built process crash at 1/3 of the progress. An it takes like 4 hours just for that. The assets are quicktimes none compresed and some .mp4 all together is about 2 hours of video.
PLEASE any suggestion ? I need to send this to my client tomorrow
I can Re make the whole dvd in DVDstudio but as you can guess it took me a lot of time to conect all this assets.

Last night I leave one of my computers enconding all the material to m2v files with encoder dvd presets.
But when I tried to replace this files in my encore project it gives me an error: "Could not import file it is not the same type as the file it is replacing" weird. of course this files are now m2v. this files are working perfect in DVDstudio
I will have to remake the authoring in dvdstudio with this m2v files.
Too bad I was soooooo in love with adobe CS, I switch a few month ago, and premiere surprise me! is by far much better than FCP, audition is great for fast audio post don't need to use OMF and protools anymore, AE is AE the best for motion. encoder quality/speed is so much better than compresor.
hope they fix encore and they make a more versatil speedgrade (one that work with any file codec) -

ok, so here is the scoop:
I have the latest version of adobe -version 8 - and I want to convert some documents (whethere ms word, notepad, word pad, simply accounting invoices) into adobe, but this error message has come up:
"Adobe Reader could not open "_____.pdf" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for exaample, it was ent as an email attachment and it wasn't decoded correctly."
Ok, so first of all it was NOT sent as an email attachment, but it may not be a supported file? Then what are the supported files?
I reallyt need to use adobe, but I can't open ANYTHING up in it because of this message that keeps on coming up.
P.S. I called tech support, they advised re-installing - did that, but still have the problem.

It is cross-platform and is so successful it has been adopted as the official way of providing web documents by the US government and many others.
The pdf standard, which is based on another Adobe product, PostScript, is an open standard and other programs use it for output, including Microsoft Word. IMO the best free pdf generator out there is PrimoPDF.

I installed iOS 6 on my iphone 4g & it stuck on white screen.... i tried to "reboot" by holding the 2 buttons for 10 seconds & it didn't come back to life.... i connected to itunes & tried that route.... said "detected an iphone in recovery mode...must restore...before used w/ itunes...." soooooo i clicked ok & restore..... then about 15 mins later i received error message that said "...cannot be restored...unknown error occurred (37)".... ........ I remembered that I had connected to iCloud a while back so I tried that route..... while I was looking & searching for how to fix & what to do on google....my phone seems to have died... it won't do anything now... not even the white screen...... I am sooooo new at this... I don't know how or what to do w/ iCloud or if it can even help right now..... Is there anyone that can help??... please

Help needed with Iphone emailing
Hi guys,
After many hours searching the net and these forums I still can't find the right answer to my question. Therefore PLEASE help me!
I have an email account with Go daddy (I beleive it is a POP account type). I use this email for business purposes and receive many different emails everyday, therefore using folders with my email account is crucial.
This is not a problem on my mac as I have plenty of folders created, however I cannot sync them onto my iphone, therefore whenever I want to find a message on my iphone I have to search through tons of emails before I reach the correct one.
I understand that there are certain apps that can facilitate email folders such as emailganizer and web outlook app, however as im sure you are aware they do not accept pop email accounts!
Is there any way of me creating folders on my iphone somehow using my pop email account?
If no......
Is there any way of me keeping the email account name, ([email protected]) and the web hosting with go daddy but changing the email provider so that I can use one of the apps available that allow you to create folders!
I would be soooooo greatful for the help guys!

Connection Timeout error message - HELP!

I am so fed up with my internet connection....so here is my story....
I live above a shop in a rented flat which is owned by the shop owner, he kindly gave me the password for his router so I could use his internet free of charge.
This has worked fine with 3 different connections he has had since I have lived there and was working with the current one up until about a week ago.....it all of a sudden went off, however it was still showing up as an available network in my networks list, but when I try to connect to it using the password it brings up the 'connection timeout' error message.
I thought that this was something to do with his router so I brought my friends 3 Huawei E585 wireless internet device round to try that, but the same message appears, HOWEVER my iPhone 4 connects to this perfectly fine with a full signal strength.
THEN....my Dad took my Macbook and the 3 Huawei E585 device over to his house and my Macbook connected to it straight away??? ....... is there anything in the building that could affect the connection?? - as it seems to be my flat for some reason all of a sudden!? ..... my Dad has suggested it may be some sort of electrical interference if anything new has been installed recently?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I'm SOOOOOO fed up of not having internet!!

I had the same problem when I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard in January. My memory is already rusty but try the following:
1. Go to System Preferences > Network pane. On the left pane, click on AirPort. In the right pane lower right, click Advanced button. Then on the AirPort tab, click on the name of your network and then the minus sign to remove it from the list.
2. Click Apply and quit System Preferences.
3. Put the computer to sleep.
4. Wake the computer.
5. Go back in to Network preferences, AirPort tab. Click the plus sign to add your network. Fill in the Network Name, choose the type of Security by clicking on the pop-down bar, enter password/code/phrase and click Add. NOTE: Do not connect to the network at this time.
6. Click Apply and Quit the Network Preferences.
7. On the Menu row, click the Airport icon and select your network. (IF your network does not show, choose Join Other Network. Fill in the Network Name, choose the type of Security by clicking on the pop-down bar, enter password/code/phrase and click Join.)
8. Verify connectivity
9. Put the computer to sleep.
10. Wake the computer.
11. Verify connectivity

Why is my iphone responding slowly
My new iphone 4, 3 days old, has been fine, i just picked it up to use it and the voice has appeared, i need to double tap everything to use it and can no longer scroll anything so am unable to access most thing, what has happened?
