It's totally out of sync across timeline

I have an audio file to edit and imported to Garageband with a track only. The problem occurs whenever I play it it plays but after sometime jumps to unspecific time and won't noticeable in the timeline. The needle in the timeline runs fine but the audio is not sync. I did check the timeline and replay from a specific time over and over it will play differently, it's so unreliable to edit. However if I played it on iTunes it plays in the right manner - no jumpy audio.
I got this audio recorded from my iPhone to AIFF format using Pro Recorder app.
Is anyone of you have this experience? Oh this is my first time editing audio with Garageband and quite disappointed with the performance

  • Premiere CS3 - Audio out of sync in timeline

Audio is out of sync in the timeline.
Only occurs on mpeg clips that were captured at school (unsure of the settings used to make the capture as it was done by another student). These clips play fine outside of Premiere. This problem only occurs on my system at home I have searched and cannot seem to find a solution. I assume since it works at school and not at home that it comes down to a setting or hardware on my system causing the issue just not sure where to start. Any sugguestions would be greatly appreciated

  • ITunes 5: Library and iPod totals out of sync

Anyone else experiencing this one since upgrading to iTunes 5? I think it's related to the fact that podcasts are now included in the Library in iTunes5 and not separated like in iTunes 4.9. What's weird is the more I update my podcasts, the more out of sync the two totals seem to get. I've tried removing/readding my entire music library/podcasts in iTunes 5 but still seeing discrepencies between it and my iPod totals. When I check Settings - About on my iPod, it seems to list just the song data. Any tips/tricks to dealing w/ this one?

Same here... I have my podcast prefs set to save the last 3 episodes but still see all kinds of old podcasts in my iTunes library (and in my iTunes\iTunes Music\Podcasts directory on my hard drive). Suspect all of this is related to the new iTunes 5 implementation where podcasts get treated as songs and some bug that's preventing the podcasts episodes from being purged correctly. I find I can delete the older podcasts from my iTunes library manually but the Library totals don't seem to update. Also noticed the Settings- About values on my iPod just list "song" counts (no podcasts) further compounding the problem. Wonder if the rumored 5.1 release will address this?

  • When viewing online videos (news, sports etc) the audio is totally out of sync.

I use three emails (gmail, comcast and juno) and when I click on anything that has a video, the audio is out of sync with the video. I originally thought it was only Comcast.net news but their techs have not been able to improve matters. So I ran tests on the others and found they had similar problems. Cursory checks of my PC, Acer HD monitor and my two small speakers didn't reveal anything. That doesn't leave much other than Fire Fox.

If this were a project that I was involved in, I would recapture the media at the correct frame rate and rebuild the sequences correctly.
Moving from production, to post production, to delivery is a series of steps, and the success of any particular step is based on having all the preceding steps done correctly.
Shortcuts and workarounds tend to create awkward and difficult problems, that often only surface late in the process.

  • The sequence totally out of sync after sending it from Color to FCP

I finished my color corrections in Color and thought I'd send it to FCP again.
When I opened it in FCP everythign was out of sync. The text I had added wasn't where it was supposed to be, the sound I hade deleted was back(!) and some clips were cut down.
    Anyone know why this happened?
    Thanks

There are a lot of known issues with 25 fps material -- bad timecode, corrupted sequences, etc.
It does appear as if there is an XML issue where a revision has been done and COLOR is using a previous version of the sequence ( "sound I had deleted was back(!)" ).
This has been discussed elsewhere. If you make a copy of a sequence -- treat the COPY as your backup and keep on working with the ORIGINAL. DO NOT carry the project forward if you are going to use COLOR/XML at some point because it will refer to the ORIGINAL, not the COPY. Color does not generate new XML, it edits the file that was "Sent". Strictly, speaking, then this is not wholly a Color issue but the way that FCP carries XML.
Hey, consider yourself lucky. Your text made the trip, mostly. Usually, I find that it has been mysteriously added to... like a blank line now shows up as a row of "00000000000" -- that was pretty funny.
And LiveType ipr's are suddenly missing fonts and "media"...
    Ah such fun.

  • Video out of sync in timeline

    Hey,
I got one video clip with funny things happening. I now try to sync different sound effects to these funny things.
When I play the project from the beginning they all sync fine.
But as soon as I try to view the project starting a couple of seconds in, nothing syncs anymore. It seems like the video plays way to slow when not started from the absolute beginning.
    What to do?
(The project is in 25fps and the videoclip is also recorded in 25fps)

Since CamStudio is open source software, there's not much documentation online so I can't tell what codec their AVIs use. (If you want to know, you can open the AVI in Windows Media Player, go to the File menu and select Properties.)
But converting it from whatever it is to a DV-AVI before you bring it into Premiere Elements will likely solve your out of sync problems. I'm not sure which program will convert it, but you can try Prism.

  • IOS5/Itunes 5 sync issues - music greyed out, not syncing across

    Hello,
I am having issues syncing music from iTunes to my iphone and ipad. I use autofill, but have had the same issue when using the sync all music option. All the files are listed in the music tab under the device, but half are greyed out and unplayable on the device (they are greyed out on the device too). There is a sync icon next to the files, but clicking on it does nothing.... I did a clean restore to ios5 and it copied my apps over, but none of my music, pictures etc. This is really annoying can anyone help?
    IOS5 GM
    Itunes 5

I have been fighting this problem with both my iPhone, my partner's, and my nephew's. It seems to have something to do with music purchased in iTunes vs. music that is ripped, since all my ripped music transfers fine and stays put.
On the other hand, downloaded content shows up doubled (one black, one grey) when I look at my music through the iTunes, just like that screen cap. As long as there's a "black copy" showing, it plays fine on my iPhone 4s, but I find I have to remove the greyed out copies manually and then manually transfer from my iTunes library or from the purchased option on the phone itself. In other words, if the music on the phone in only greyed out copies, and it's not on the phone, it doesn't transfer manually unless I first delete the greyed out versions. -- And then the greyed out versions magically reappear after it contacts the cloud and backs up.
I also sometimes end up with doubled copies, and my albums don't all sort the way they should -- so for example some Diane Schuur shows up under the artist name, and some shows up under albums. To put it all together I had to make a playlist, which is stupid.
Finally, there are some 46 items it tries to sync everytime I do any wi fi syncing of anything with my phone. I have no idea what that is.
I'm tempted to wipe and let all iTunes content be restored from the iCloud, a process that would require an overnight restore. I'm guessing that might solve the problem, but why should it all be this hard? Does Apple look at these comments, because I notice there are several different threads on this site concerning the music app and the iTunes/syncing issue?

  • Out of Sync in FCP

I captured some footage for an edit. 10 tapes all together, miniDV. the last tape is totally out of sync when brought into Final Cut, both in the Viewer and Timeline. Its plays perfectly fine when opened with Quicktime in the Finder.
Only when I bring it into FCP will it go nuts. I can't even slide the audio into sync because I believe the video speed is changed somehow in FCP. Any solution to this?
    audio rate 48khz.

  • Sound in video is out of sync

    Hi folks,
First time working in Flash tonight although I have some
    experience in After Effects...
    I am using Flash CS4.
I have an animated logo that I built in After Effects and
exported to a .mov file. I converted this .mov file to FLV and
imported to the stage as an embedded video.
The problem I am having is that the sound is totally out of
sync with the visual. If I play the flv w/ Adobe media player it's
fine, but if I preview it from inside Flash the audio is way early!
Not sure what I might be doing wrong? Or is this a bug?
    TIA!!

Found a solution... I saved my audio and video separately,
then embedded video but put audio in the timeline, now they play
    together.
If anyone can point me to the pref that makes my exported
video only play 1x that would be great! i would like it to end on
the final logo and not return to the beginning....
    Thanks!!

  • Audio drops and comes back out of sync but dvd preview ok

    hi All,
i put some photos and videos together in idvd project. The used one of their standard sound tracks to give the background music. The preview looked great so i burned the dvd but to my surprise when a particular video played around 8 min into the dvd the audio dropped and came about a min later with other photos getting it totally out of sync. I have tried removing few photos before that video comes to shift the video's location, there is a minor effect, it playes the clips audio in sync for slightly a sec or two longer but then drops and come back out of sync when it is showing still photos.
    thanks in advance.

We have heard nothing about any changes in Encore for CC. I would be very surprised if anything fundamental, like the preview engine, has changed. We really don't know what is still the old sonic authorcore, what may have changed but is still sonic, and what is Adobe created. I have always assumed the preview is sonic.
Is the audio sync issue Bluray only, H.264 bluray only, or any particular audio formats? I don't recall getting the issue in Encore DVD playback.

  • Burned dual layer disk w/idvd 603- audio out of sync w/video

i burned a dual layer disks with idvd 6.0.3 and the video stalls about 20secs in, and then when it uh, "unstalls", the audio and video are totally out of sync. this goes on for the whole 90 min movie. if i play a scene from the scene selection menu, it works fine. also, it works fine when i play the movie from the project file from either imovie or idvd. its only the final burned product thats affected. i tried deleting the "encoded assets" and burning it again, which didnt work, same problem. finally, i tried both disks on a settop dvd player and apple dvd player application on a few different computers.
dont know what to do. the idvd project file is working fine untill i burn a disk. the problem is only on the burned dvd. so i guess i need to trash my whole project (AGAIN!!! YAY!!!) and start over (AGAIN!!! YAY!!!). wow, ive never had so many problems with an application before in my life. i dont have much hair left to pull out.
Intel Mini 1.66/iBook 16VRAM/iPod 30GB Video   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Apple Certified Desktop & Powerbook, Data Recovery, Displays, iPod Repair

Have you tried burning a disc image to the desktop yet from the file menu within iDVD6 and using apple's dvd player app to actually play said disc image?
if the image plays exactly as expected then we're looking at a media issue and not an iDVD issue. j/c ...what brand of media and type are you currently using? Verbatim & maxell are the recommended choices ....
also try lowering the burn speed within apple's disc utilities or Toast to 4x or lower.

  • Audio Out of Sync - Why and How to Correct

I nested two 90 minute clips from 2 separate cameras which were both shot in AVCHD. I am using Premiere CS 5.5 . As a former FCP editor, whenever audio went out of sync, a message in FCP came up immediately and told you the audio was out of sync and it was an easy fix. How come Premiere is minus such an important feature?
I shoot stage productions where there may be music but no dialogue so chercking sync becomes rather difficult. After finishing a 2 hour video, I found the audio was out of sync in the nested sequences. Is there any way to auto resync the audio automatically?
Seems to me that Premiere Pro is a sub Pro App if simple audio sync is so hard to maintain in nested sequences. Makes nesting a sequence a waste of time if you have to redo the edit as a reslut of audio out of sync.

    Hello Everyone,
Has anyone found a solution to this BUG?
This happens to me all the time with Adobe Premier CS6.
It is an obvious Software BUG that needs to be corrected. I am a TV show editor.
I have had this happen to me 4 different times. You don't have to do anything special. The video with sound runs perfectly with any other product on your computer..but goes out of sync in Premier. I have tried cleaning up the Media Cache .cfa and .pek waveforms. No joy. I have tried relinking the media. No joy. I have tried moving the project and renaming and relinking. No joy. Rendering No joy. Setting the media cache to local area. No joy.
If this had happened to me just once, I would say, I have done something wrong. It has happened now in 4 different projects on four different shows. I have produced and released over 100 shows to TV.
I have checked everything, I have reloaded footage off camera. I have checked and bought new cables. I have checked codecs, frame rates, loaded into other products. All fine. I just wish Adobe engineers would do this same type of debugging of their software.
I use to work for Hewlett Packard Software division.  We were taught to alfa test, beta test and not release until bug rates
were at certain levels. Some bugs just have get through or you never get to release. But this bug really hits your productivity in a major way. You have to resync BY HAND each cut... all your sound after hours and days and weeks of getting it perfect. Then in a split second. FFFFDDDDDDDDD
I have been editing with Premier for 6 years.... It only seems to be since I have upgraded to CS6.  And I have to re-link by hand to correct the problem.  I sync on electronic clapper board number and sound - almost impossibe not to sync. I will be working away happily, cut out some footage go to my next grab..BANG out of sync. That simple.
All I know is that it happens and for ADOBE to really be a true professional editing suite in the the TV/Movie world.... This is just not on. By any chance have they released a patch or bug fix to repair this. I have spent over 3 weeks edting a television show again .......needing to go to air in less than three weeks and all of a sudden between one cut and delete.. the sound is out of sync across the whole interview. JUST NOT ON. I have spent 4 hours now..none productive hours trying to resync the sound, find solutions on the website via forums. Some ideas have been really good and I have tried them. None have worked. Still unsynced. Almost completed show I now have to re-sync by hand. At this point, I am thinking FCP is looking good. I cannot stand this loss of productivity and time.
This is not the only forum complaining about this..that should tell you something.

  • Audio out of sync with multi-cam

    Hi *,
I searched the forum with no big success. Many people seem to have the no-audio problem with multicam. My problem is different.
I enabled the multi-cam feature in CS4.1 in the preview (source) monitor. I have 2 video tracks (1 MPG, 1 AVCHD). Both appear and are in sync. Also the audio is in sync as long as the multi-cam feature is turned off. As I turn it on and play the monitor, it's totally out of sync with the video. Totally means, that it's really about 40 minutes away.
    Any ideas?
    - Stefan

    Any ideas?
My only recommendation is to just not use GOP-based media.  It's a bad idea at it's core and issues like this are not uncommon.

  • Audio out of sync after changing frame rate

I just changed frame rate from 23.976fps to 24fps inside sequence setting, and the audio is out of sync in timeline.  I can certainly manually right click mouse and choose slip into sync, but it's a tedious job.  Anyone knows why and quick solution?
    Thanks

  • Audio out of sync importing from panasonic PV-GS500

i'm importing video from a panasonic PV-GS500. each time i try i get an error message which reads:
"the audio sample rate of one or more of your captured media files does not match the sample rate on your source tape. this may cause the video and audio of these media files to be out of sync. make sure the audio sample rate of your capture preset matches the sample rate of your tape."
sometimes this is true (it's totally out of sync from the start) and sometimes it seems ok. but i don't know how to figure out the audio sample rate of the tape. so how do i match it with the capture preset?

Hi. This is the exact problem I've been having trying to capture footage from my PV-GS500. Did you ever find a solution? Or does anyone have a solution to a problem like this? I'm over my head with this problem. Thank you.
