It says on my ipod that i don't have enough space for IOS 6 or anything else.
it wont let me do anything like update my apps or put news songs on my i pod or take pictures. This started to happen when the IOS 6 update came and it's really ******* me off. Can someone help me out. I have an 8GB ipod touch and i have used 6.2GB if that helps.
When you connect the iPod to your computer and click on the iPod under devices what is the amount of storage used in the various categories as shown in the colored bargraph?
If the "other" category is greater that about 1.5 GB that typically indicated that it included corrupted files. That sometimes happens after an update.
To reduce the "other" try restoring from backup.

My 16gb iPhone 4S keep tell me that my storage is almost full and I don't have enough space for any upgrades. I don't have any music or videos on my phone. I deleted all old emails, texts, contacts and apps but still nothing. When I check my settings, I noticed that my Instagram is at 732mb and it keeps rising. Now it's at 814mb. Please help!!!!!
What is the precise wording of the message that is occurring?

Don't have enough space for an app even though I know I do?
I Can't download an app (The World Ends With You: Solo Remix) because I "don't have enough space" even though I know I have enough space. The app is 659 Mb, but I have 1.0 Gb available according to iTunes when I plug my phone into my Mac (I also have 1 full Gig of space used by "Other" among Audio, Video, Apps, etc. What is "Other?") I've also failed to download the app through my Mac because it automatically tried to download apps I had deleted some time ago. My dad claims it sometimes won't download if it "Thinks you might fill it up" although I don't believe that's the case. Does anyone know what to do? I spent 9 bucks on this thing, It's even on SALE.
Thanks, I figured that out after I posted the question, so I cleared out a lot of space, but it still won't download. The app is supposedly 659 Mb according to the App Store, meaning it needs anything from about 1318 to 1967 Mb to download, if it's anywhere around 2 or 3x, But it still fails even after I cleaned up for a total of 2.2 Gb. I've got no clue really, my best guess is it's still not enough and needs 3.5 or 4x, but I could be wrong. Thanks anyway, any other clues?

I am trying to burn a dvd and it will not allow me to do this because it states I do not have enough space for encoding. how do i free up space and from where?
iDVD can only use your startup hard disk for the "scratch space" it needs for calculations during the encoding process. 25 GB is a good average requirement, but a large project (3 or 4 hours of content) might require more.
To free up space, you will have to move items to an external hard drive and/or delete items you no longer want.
Please note that iDVD can't use and external hard drive for this "scratch space". -
Does anyone know how to solve this problem: I a trying to download a paid app but I cannot because the AppStore says that info not have enough space to download it even though I have more than enough space so if any of you know what can solve this problem then please let me know
The app is compressed and needs swap space to install. As a rule of thumb you need 3 times the listed size of the app available, or in your case 4.6GB. You only have 1.7GB.

Ive been trying for 2 days now to get iOS 7, I have deleted all of my apps, all of my pictures and all of my music yet it is still saying I do not have enough storage for the new update. Does anyone know how I can fix this or what might be taking up all of my storage?
What is the EXACT message you're getting?
Are you trying to update over the air or via iTunes on your computer? -
i really need help
If you were manually managing your iPhone then yes, you need to manually transfer your apps. If you were regularly syncing and arranging your apps on your computer (which is easier) then yes a sync will not disturb anything. You do have to go to file and transfer apps and music if you are not autosyncing. Perhaps you should take the time to read the manual.
Where did I say that "Apple products don't have issues and don't crash..." Please point this out to me. My phone has had to be reset, I've had to turn it off and back on to resynch with the GSM network (this predates my iPhones, had to do the same thing with my Treo), I've had issues with other products and versions of the phone.
But in your case you stated that your computer did not match your phone and I've seen this happen before. I do say that some people don't take responsibility for their own actions and want to blame others. So gut it out, download your apps again if you lost any (doesn't cost anything) clean up and sync and then keep things that way. It will make you happier and more content.
Or sell you iPhone and buy a smartphone that has no issues. I find it hard to believe any reasonable person would continue to use a smartphone that they find is "buggy as **". This just doesn't make any sense. -

How can I delete files that are waiting to be downloaded? I no longer want them and they won't all fit.
If downalods won't fit on yrou computer, ou should clear up your drive by removing unsed programs and documents.
As a general rule, you should keep 10%-15% free drive space on your boot drive. -
If I delete photos on my iPad mini, can I still see them in iCloud storage? How do I free up more space on my iPad without removing photos?
If you delete photos from your iPad, they will also be deleted from iCloud and you'll lose them. Also, having additional iCloud space won't give you any more space on your device. You can't move any data to iCloud and delete it from your device. All you iCloud data is also on you device, and if you delete it from your device, it is also deleted from iCloud.
One option to free up space for the update is to delete the music from your iPad, then sync it back using iTunes after you update. (You can delete it all by going to Settings>General>Usage, wait for the apps list to open, then tap Music>Edit, then tap next to All Music.)
Also, if you purchsed the iCloud storage upgrade in the last 15 days thinking you chould use it to free up space on your iPad, you can call the Apple online store for your country and get a refund (1-800-MY-APPLE in the U.S. and Canada.) -
Says I don't have enough space to install 10.6.7, but I think I do.
I have a 2008 MacBook. I just installed SnowLeopard (10.6.3) in order to use FaceTime. But I have to update to 10.6.7 to use FaceTime. So I installed 10.6.6 so that I could upgrade to 10.6.7. I have 47.84 GB of space on my Mac, but 10.6.7 won't let me install because I don't have enough space for the 1.06 GB it requires. Any thoughts on what to do?
Get Disk Inventory X to see what is hogging up space and consider delelting some stuff.

When I try to sync my iphone with itunes, it tells me a warning that I don't have enough memory and yet the status bar at the bottom says that I do and I know that I have enough memory. What's the problem? It happens with the ipods and ipad as well!!!
The new iTunes has a somewhat different look from the previous version. You can get the old look back if you prefer it by doing View > Show Sidebar in iTunes. Or you can adapt to the new look.

My computer says I don't have enough space on my iPod to sync. I removed a bunch of songs. What do I need to do? Still won't sync
Hey hins,
Since it sounds like you're encountering that alert even after clearing an appropriate amount of space, I'd follow the steps in this article and that should resolve the issue:
iOS: 'Not enough free space' alert when trying to sync

I am unable to upgrade to ios 7. It is telling me that I don't have enough storage to upgrade. I checked my usage and it says that have used 6.2 GB and that I have 151MB available. I thought that the phone is supposed to have 16GB? I have already deletes some pictures videos and apps... not much has changed. What should I do??
Also, I just got photostream and when I went to look throught the pictures on photostream, some have started distorting. The images seem to be zoomed in so much and I can't unzoom them. I worried that it will start ruining the photos on my laptop. As Carolyn said, you'll need to have space on your device. If you want to see how space is being used up by what applications you can follow Carolyn's advice: Tap Settings > General > About
One option is to delete some old applications.
Another options is to temporarily remove your music.
Another option is to transfer some photos to your computer to make space. To do this, open iPhoto and click "import photos. Just be sure to check the option "Delete items from camera after downloading" or you won't actually delete anything and won't make any space!

I just tried to download the new iOS 5 software during my sync with iTunes on my computer to my iPhone 4, however, I got an error message saying that I did not have enough space on my computer to continue (even though I am pretty sure I do). It offered me the choice of deleting much of the media on my iPhone in order to continue, which of course I declined.
How can I ensure that I have enough space on my computer to download the new iOS 5 software? I don't want to delete anything on my computer and I have already defragged. Can I just hook up an external hard drive which I am certain has enough space? If so, how can I ensure that iTunes recognizes the external hard drive as the drive that it should be downloading the software to?
ThanksWhy, if it told you you have insufficient space on your computer, would it suggest making more space available on your phone?
At a guess, you have insufficient space on your phone. Installing software will typically require more space than the final size of the software, perhaps even twice or three times as much, for the installation process. You can easily dump some videos or music temporarily, and then synch them back in afterwards.
