It seems that photos are saved automatically after one makes changes. However, I cannot find the edited photograph! Where do they end up?
After I change the photo on IPhoto, only the original appears - don't know where to find the changed photo. Is it really automatic?

How are you editing the photo? With iPhoto or a 3rd party editor?
With iPhoto the edited version replaces the orignal in both the thumbnail and large version. Once the photo is edited you can view both the editied version and original in the edit mode by depressing the Shift key to toggle between the two.

Make sure the EHD is formatted Mac OS X Extended (journaled) with Ownership set to be ignored:

I cannot delete a repeated appointment in my calendar. I deleted the main and accidentally hit save future dates. I tried to delete each future date but there was no edit function. I then clicked the calendar and i could change it but they all display read only cannot delete.
Were the photos taken by your new iPhone? If so, did you not import them off your phone to your computer (as you would any other digital camera) before the restore? If not, restoring wiped the data off the phone and your pictures are gone.

It will only open the firefox opening window, nothing else. If I put in my home page, Yahoo, it says it can't find the server. Same for any other URL. I fully deleted Firefox, including the FireFox folder in applications, and reinstalled to no avail.
{Ctrl + P} and select your printer in the Printer - Name box near the top of that window.

We have recently decommissioned our server and are using dropbox. Updating Reader failed because it cannot find the path to the server, as it isn't there anymore but I cannot find a way to uninstall or update.
If you are on Windows you can use this tool to uninstall http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
But you may still encounter problems when trying to reinstall; make sure that no entries point to your server on these registry keys:

All of a sudden I keep getting a pop up that says this song can't be played because I tunes cannot find the file...Over 11,000 songs can't be played ....I really don't want to transfer all the songs over again...Please help...Thanks

If I delete my photo stream photos off of my iPhone will they also delete from my photo stream on my MacBook Pro? If so how can I ensure that those photos are saved?
They will not be deleted if they have been imported to your iPhoto library. To ensure this happens automatically, go to iPhoto>Preferences>iCloud and check Automatic Import:
To confirm that they have been imported to your library, click on iCloud on the left sidebar of iPhoto, open your My Photo Stream album on the right, then Control-Click on your pictures. If you see "Show in Library" in the pop-up, the picture has been imported to your library and you can safely delete it from photo stream. -

To download any photos that were on your My Photos Stream, then you will need to have Photo Streamed turned on within your computer. Keep in mind that My Photos Stream only holds the last 30 days of photos and those will be the only one that will download. the photos that I add to address book will only be there for a few seconds after I close the edit button. Either they go away completely or they are very small portion of the actual photo
Frank, thanks for your note. I wrote "COMPLETED" because I had gone to a lot of effort to get the content of the book precisely as I wanted it. I would fully expect to see my level of effort and care matched by functional competence in Aperture 3 to render the book the way I created it. Too much to ask?
And yes, I upgraded the Aperture 2 Library first. [Not ALL my tens of 000s of pix, because I use Lightroom selectively for photo editing. But Yes to the Aperture 2 Library.] That step took a number of minutes, but seemed to work fine (no error messages of any kind).
Then I opened the existing book project in Aperture 3, which followed some "magic-box" process that took a minute or so. As I said, when that step was done, by all appearances the book was ready to submit for printing - until I examined the photos a little more closely. You did see the blurry example I included, didn't you? That is what each and every photo looks like.
Text-box content appears to have been rendered pertectly, for the record (including captions).
So, ... is this result something you have heard of before? Do you know of a one-step solution? Or am I looking at an extended picture-by-picture fix? -

All photos in portrait format are displayed blurred in the preview mode "fill" of the library. In all other modes e.g. "fit"or "1:2" the photos are sharp. How can I change this, so that the photos are still sharp when displaying them in the mode "fill"? My Lightroom release is 5.7.1.
Thanking you in anticipation!I'd like to get all these '-1 suffix' files together with their associated Develop adjustments into one folder (if they aren't already) so I can see them in Grid view in the Library module, which I use as my basic starting point for everything else at this early stage of my Lightroom 'career'.
To see what folder these are stored in, right-click on a photo and select "Go to Folder in Library".
Advice: if you are going to use Lightroom effectively, you probably want to stop using folders as your method to create a grouping of photos that are already in Lightroom; there are plenty of built-in tools, such as keywords, collections, color labels, etc.
I don't understand why the search on the entire catalog picked up apparently the same two file versions but also got the Develop adjustments when going to the relevant Folder didn't show the adjustment black squares against each image in Grid view nor were they there when the images were opened in the Develop module. Perhaps if I understood this, I'd be a bit more confident of moving forward myself.
These are most likely different versions of the same photo, in different folders. Lightroom stores the edits in its own catalog, and so it knows that one folder's photos have edits, and the other folder's photos do not have edits. Please understand that Lightroom is a database, it knows where the photos are at the time you import them (or add them to the catalog by synchronize), and then if you move things around in your operating system, Lightroom does not know anything about that and problems begin. Thus the advice to organize using Lightroom tools and methods and not operating system tools and methods. -
How can I delete my photos on my Iphone 5 that was sync from my computer? It seems that photos that have been sync from computer is unable to delete on Iphone. Grrr IT *****!
Photos than came from computer will need to be uncheck on computer then do a sync to delete.
You can only delete photos from your Camera Roll directly. -
I can't find my notes in my iCloud account. I checked my iPhone 4, and it says that they are still being saved to the iCloud. Where did they go?
I'm not familiar with the PC end of things, but in a recent post I read about someone using notes.exe to access notes (I'm assuming they knew what they were talking about) - would your installation of icloud app(s) include a notes program? At least do this, log into icloud.com with a computer browser and look in mail. There should be a notes "folder" listed along with the others you may have defined. Are you notes there? If not, that's the problem. Be sure notes is turned on in Settings>icloud on your device. if they are there, then it looks like the PC end is the problem - but I can't provide help concerning that.

I am unclear what Family Sharing means.
Does family sharing mean all photos are backed up to one icloud account? Or simply that we can all see each other's streams. As it stands now, I understand we can share streams, without having family sharing enabled. Basically, I want to know if we can be logged into separate icloud accounts yet share photo and document storage as we currently can with dropbox.
I want to share photo storage and file backup with my wife. Currently, we both use her apple id to make store purchases and have our own icloud accounts. This solves some problems, but I still have old itunes purchases(grant you fairly old at this point) that I cannot access when I am logged into her id.
I realize we could both use our own icloud account and upgrade storage individually, but this fails the economy test. We have roughly 60 gb of family photo storage, so we would both need 200 gb plans.
we both have ipads and iphones. i simply want us each to be able to take photos and have them automatically saved to one storage solution.

ShalomThe only way you can see the contents of an iCloud backup is to restore it to an iOS device. You could restore it to your new phone -- but that would mean you would first have to erase your new phone so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have nothing of value on the new phone. In theory you could backup the new phone, erase it, restore from the old and see what is there and copy the photos to a computer and then erase it again and restore it back from the new phone backup. I am able to click on a pic in iphoto to edit it and opens automatically in photoshop CS6. However when I am done editing and save I can not save back into Iphoto. Can any one help wiht this?

After my test results, I thought maybe this was something that had changed from iPhoto 08 to iPhoto 09, so I went to the bookstore yesterday and checked the same book for iPhoto 09, and there it was, the same quote! (on a different page, of course).
