It seems that roboform for u3 is not compatible with firefox 5 and higher. am i right?

According to the Roboform site, I can't upgrade to later versions of firefox and so can't use portable version. on the other hand, i have roboform everywhere, and perhaps that's good enough?

Check with Roboform support about that.
Firefox Portable and U3 Firefox are two completely separate applications, and neither is an official build from Mozilla - they are 3rd party apps.

When Firefox launches a window opens that says a plugin for Kaspersky is not compatible with firefox. I have to close that window fefore firefox will lsunch.

I have gone into options, General, Extensions. This Kaspersky add-on is not present. Kaspersky used to be my anti virus software. I called my self deleting that software. I don't know where firefox is getting it.
Firefox is my default browser. I cannot launch links without closing the error window that comes up.
I am considering deleting firefox and reinstalling. Just haven't done that yet.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

I get mesage that lightening 3.3 is not compatible with firefox 31.0

I have a new computer and installed the latest version of Mozilla Thunderbird on it (firefox 31.0). I like to use the calendar and tried to install lightening 3.3 but it gives the message that it is incompatible with firefox 31.0.
How can I get the calendar running?

To further clarify for us ninnies:
You have to save the Lightning app to disk (Tools | Add-ons | Lightning | Add to Thunderbird | Save to disk ).
Then go back to the main Thunderbird page and select (Tools | Add-ons | (the little gear icon in the upper right corner) | Install Add-on from file | Lightning, etc.) | Open | Install add-on | Restart now )
If you do not have a pre-existing calendar file in Lightning, but do have one in Google, you can export the Google file, then import it into lightning. It may also be possible to directly synch with Google, but I went the Export/Import route and it worked.

Can you please be a bit more specific about the issue you are facing. As I understand you are trying to use [http://www-01.ibm.com/software/analytics/spss/ IBM SSPS] on Firefox and the application is not displaying properly. Is that the issue you are facing?
And from what you mentioned the application is showing up fine on Internet Explorer. Is that the case?

Have recently installed AVG Free 2012, then received a Firefox update stating that Firefox 7.0.1 was not compatible with AVG and would be disabled; my AVG screen says I am up to date and protected. Which is correct?

In the last couple of days, I received an update of the Free AVG 2012 program for virus protection. Saturday morning when my husband booted up and checked e-mail, he first received an update from Firefox which then alerted him that my computer was now not compatible with AVG, AVG would be turned off; should Firefox search for another compatible program? Having no clue, he clicked NO. When I check the AVG icon in the system tray, it shows AVG2012 up to date and running. The appropriate boxes are checked ok. I have had this problem for a while since I did a previous Firefox update, where I had to force Gmail to load in Basic HTML else it's next to impossible to use it. Found workaround for that problem.
# Open up the about:config page (type it in the address bar and enter) and then right-click anywhere in the about:config page and choose New –> Boolean.
# Write extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0 and make it false.
What it does, is disables automatic compatibility checking from firefox, so you could still use your older add-ons that are not compatible with firefox 4.

According to a random website... the HTC Wildfire S uses a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor. This processor unfortunately does not support the full ARM version 7 instruction set, so Firefox cannot run on it.

You can turn off compatibility checking, but more and more of the Google Toolbar will not work. Google is no longer supporting the Google Toolbar so you should use the alternatives.

Why do I get and error when attempting to install the lighting calendar that it is not compatible with firefox 34.0.5..

I am using firefox 34.0.5, my thunderbird is 31.3.0 and I am attempting to install the lightning calendar. I checked the compatibility list. I downloaded the correct version of lightning and each time i attempt to install any version it fails and gives me the errors that this version is not compatible with firefox 34.0.5. I have tried five different versions of Lightning with the same results.

Please read that bug I linked you to and let me know if the last comment in the bug solves your problem. Apparently the problem is about the addon .xpi file being read-only. Try right-clicking it, going to Properties and unchecking the "Read-only" attribute box at the bottom of the dialog. Click Apply, then OK.
