It takes two

When making a phone call, when I touch the contact name to dial, the call attempts to go through then cancels or fails. Then I have to call the person again, so it typically takes two attempts to make a call.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Any ways to fix this?

not to ask something obvious, but how is the signal strength?

  • I plugged my ipod touch into my laptop and started to down load an (1) upgrade.  But Itunes says that the upgrade will take two hours.  I started the down load and it started and stoped and eventualy never complerted the down load.  How can I fix this ?

    I plugged my Ipod touch into my Dell laptop and went to Itunes.  Itunes told me I should down load an upgrade, so I did.  Itunes said the down load would take two hours.  I started the down load, but after two + hours (&longer) , after several starts and stops the down load never completed.
    I recently got a (fake anti virus) virus and it damaged my computer.  I got it fixed and reinstalled the software and it appears to be working correctly. Could this be the part of the problem ?
    Would it help if I reloaded the Itunes (off an external HD) or downloaded it again from Itunes ?
    Thanks

    I doubt it.  For my updates, it has typically taken me many tries/retries.  Like for you, the download would stop.  and I would have to restart from the beginning.  If you get a network timed out error try disabling the security software on your computer.

    I have HP laserjet 1320n printer and i want to print a6 pepper and its should stop on next page but it take two a6 pages than stop

    Hi syedraji007,
    I suspect your question would be better answered in the HP Enterprise Business Community,  as the HP Laserjet 1320n is a commercial model.
    My technical expertise is with consumer products and software, I am sure the commercial folks would be happy to help if you re-post your question for them to answer. The HP Enterprise Business Community is an HP Forum designed for the Commercial and Enterprise customers to help one another. I am sure you will find some HP folks there to help too.
    Click here to view the Printers - LaserJet board. When the page opens you will see the option to 'Log in' or 'Register Now' on the right. The commercial forums are separate from the consumer boards, thus you will need to register if you don't already have a commercial account.
    You may find the HP LaserJet 1320 Printer series supportpage helpful while you wait for somebody in the commercial Forum to respond to your inquiry.
    Best of luck.

  • How do I take two separate non numeric fields in a acrobat form and combine the data to display in a third separate field?

    How do I take two separate non numeric fields in a acrobat form and combine the data to display in a third separate field?

    You have to use custom JavScripting to concatenate the first 2 fields. You cannot use the first 2 calculation options because they force the values of the fields to a numeric value or ignore string values.
    Possible scripts for the 3rd field are:
    event.value = this.getField("Text1").valueAsString + " " + this.getField("Text2").valueAsString;
    or
    event.value = this.getField("Text1").valueAsString.concat( " ",  this.getField("Text2").valueAsString);
    If you do not want change the separator or not show the separator when on or the other field is empty, you will need to add more code to adjust for change.
    The above scripts will also concatenate number because the field values are read as strings and not numbers.
    There is also a generalized user written function to concatenate up to 3 fields with a separator that adjust for missing data.

  • IComparable (CompareTo takes one argument) and IComparer ( Compare takes two arguments)

    I was looking at the MSDN article
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/320727 on IComparable and IComparer. IComparable provides default sort order and IComparer provides custom sort order.
    ICompareable interface requires that CompareTo method and takes one argument
    IComparer interface requires that Compare method be implemented and takes two arguments
    My question is : I can understand comparing two arguments, because we are comparing two objects / strings / int whatever the case be. But I don't understand IComparable Compare method which takes one argument, what is being compared with what? Below is the
    code from the article.
    int IComparable.CompareTo(object obj)
    car c = (car)obj;
    return String.Compare(this.make, c.make);
    The this instance of the class is compared with the object obj based on the make. I guess I don't understand where are the two entries picked up from and in what order. Because this means the current instantiated class holding the current entry, then
    what is the object? This is probably implementation detail on how the Sort works on the array. But I for some reason feel that the method with two arguments is intuitive as in IComparable Compare method

    When there is a comparison job, it can be performed in two ways. You ask the object itself (i.e. the comparable) for the result. It then compares itself with the compared object and gives the result. Another way is to employ a judge. You give him the two
    objects being compared together and ask him for the result.
    When implementing IComparable<T> in a class, you want the class itself give you the result. The advantage of this approach is that, you don't need another object to compare the result as a judge. Comparison is done implicitly. However, the limitation
    of this approach is that, you can implement the interface only once in a class.
    The second approach has more flexibility, because you can change the judge and employ any judge as you want to give you the proper result. However, you need to create an instance of the IComparer<T> and use it explicitly to perform the comparison.

    I'm a first timer on this (or any) help site. I just installed Time Capsule.  The first backup looks like it will take two days at the present speed.  Can I close MacBook Pro and have first back up continue, and can I unplug tomorrow and plug in at work without affecting the backup?

    Hi Oneinspirit,
    Time Machine backups can be paused by choosing "Stop Backing Up" from the Time Machine icon on the right hand side of your menu bar ( ). Once you're ready to resume the backup, you can choose "Back Up Now" from the same icon.
    Start a backup: Click the Time Machine icon  in the menu bar, then choose Back Up Now.
    Pause a backup: Click the Time Machine icon  in the menu bar, then choose Stop Backing Up.
    OS X Yosemite: Start, pause, and resume a Time Machine backup

  • How to write a method that takes two arguments of same type

    Hi,
    I seldom do anything "advanced" in generics, but I've done my reading, and thought that I had an understanding of the basics, but I'm stuck on this. How do I write a method that takes two arguments that must be of exact same type.
    I've tried something like:
    public class GenericsTest1 {
        public static <T> void compare(T first, T second) {
    }But the compare method can in this case be called with e.g.
    String arg1 = null;
    Long arg2 = null;
    compare(arg1, arg2);I can restrict the call to something like GenericsTest1.<Long>compare(arg1, arg2), but I don't want to do it in the location that calls the method, and the method can still be invoked with subclasses of the specified type. E.g. this is valid (but I don't want it to be valid):
    Number arg1 = null;
    Long arg2 = null;
    GenericsTest1.<Number>compare(arg1, arg2);So I then changed the method into something like this:
    public class GenericsTest2 {
        public static <T, E extends T> void compare(T first, E second) {
    }It feels like I'm half way there now. Compare can't be called with e.g:
    Long arg1 = null;
    Number arg2 = null;
    compare(arg1, arg2);But this is still valid:
    Number arg1 = null;
    Long arg2 = null;
    compare(arg1, arg2);Hmm... So what to do? I only want the method to be callable when arg1 and arg2 is of exact same type. Everything else should give a compilation error.
    Kaj
    Ps. No, I don't have a need for this, I'm just curious.

    I haven't gone through everything you've written, but I would expect that in the first instance, it's inferred <T> to be Object. This is a good reason to parameterise the class rather than the method wherever that makes sense.Thanks for you reply, but as I said this isn't related to anything that I'm going to use. I just want to know if it ca ben done with a static method and generics.

  • Is it possible to create a component that takes two inputs?

    Hi Experts,
    Is it possible to create a custom JSF component that takes two input values and assigns them to a managed bean?
    For example, a component that displays two input boxes?
    The tag would look something like this:
    <my:component value1="#{bean.value1}" value2="#{bean.value2}" />I've tried, but I can't get the values to update the managed bean.
    I'm starting to doubt that it is possible, as their is only 1 setSubmittedValue method :(
    Thank you,
    Ristretto

    Hi Prosun Bondopadhyay  ,
                   Component controller is the base of a wda component. its can be considered as the base class. all the other views can be considered as the sub classes of component  controller. so without the base class there is no existence for sub class rt?
    like we can use all the methods and attributes of a component controller(main class) across all the view(sub class) and the viceversa is not possible.
    hence we cannot create a wda without component controller.

  • Audition takes two full seconds to start audio after trigger...

    This just started happening today. I hit the space bar or the start transport control and it takes two seconds for the audio to fire. This occurs in multi-track view only.
    What as caused this and how can I get AA to return to instant start in multi-track view?

    Yes, I know of that but I've used real time reverb effects in AA before and never suffered such a resource hit as this.
    Heck, I've got an E6600 Core Duo and 4GB of RAM (3.2GB under XP 32bit) so using one real time reverb effect shouldn't have been a problem even without freezing the track.
    Admittedly, this was the first time I've used that particular effect in AA 3.0 so perhaps something's changed from 2.0.
    Not to poke Adobe in the eye or anything but earlier I had used real time reverb in a Pro Tools session on two tracks along with a compressor on three, an Elastic Time enabled track plus additional effects on two of the session tracks as well as a MIDI track and never had a hiccup.
    AA 3.0 continues to greatly disappoint.

  • When i drag and drop to my ipod it wants to sync everything, but if i make changes to the syncing options and apply it wants to sync it all to make it work. i have 12000 songs and takes two days to sync everything. is there an easier way to drag and drop

    when i drag and drop to my ipod it wants to sync everything, but if i make changes to the syncing options and apply it wants to sync it all to make it work. i have 12000 songs and takes two days to sync everything. is there an easier way to drag and drop just one album without making settings changes?

    The first ever Sync of 12,000 songs to an empty iPod will take a while, but it shouldn't take two days.
    Once all 12,000 songs have been Synced to the iPod, subsequent changes to just one album will result in a very short Sync time. That Sync will include:
    the change to that one album
    play counts on iPod updated into your iTunes Library
    Smart Playlists updated: some complex Smart Playlists are not always updated by the iPod but have to wait for a Sync with the Library.
    housework - in other words, behind the scenes tasks that we don't need to see.
    Those subsequent Syncs do not sync every single song every time.
    So, stick with Syncing. If the first Sync of all your songs is taking too long, try syncing part of the Library (say one or two genres) the first time, a further part the second time and so on. After all, with a Library that large, manually managing the iPod will be a source of torture.

  • Why does it take two or three minutes for my screens to load?

    Starting a couple of weeks ago when I click on a new link it can take two or three minutes to load the page. It will eventually load the page but the lag is ridiculous. I also noticed that as soon as I close the page that isn't opening I do see that page for a second or two before it reverts back to the original page, and when I click on the same link again, it takes me there immediately.

    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Why does it take two clicks to open an email now instead of one click it used to take?

    Heretofore, it took only one click to open an email in the inbox and now it takes 2 clicks. How do you get back to one click? Is there a setting or option for this?

    The standard has always been one click to show the message in the Message Pane and two clicks to open a message in a tab or window.
    If you do not have the Message Pane turned on press F8.

  • Save As for WebI docs from JRP takes two minutes in BO 3.1.6

    Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try to speed up the saving of reports into Favorites?
    I searched and didn't see anyone else with my problem.
    When I Save a report for the first time or Save As from the Java Report panel, it takes a really long time to display the report names on the right side of the Save Document box.  I have an hourglass while I wait for the report names to display.

    It's only a problem when I'm using JRP as my WebI doc editing tool.  The list of reports comes up right away in Interactive.

  • ITunes takes two Quits to actually quit

    This is a kind of annoying new trait since upgrading to Leopard. I can choose Quit from either the menu or the Dock and iTunes just ignores me the first time. If I do it twice, it instantly quits. This isn't some time out value I'm just not being patient for since i've let it wait as long as 5 minutes. It just simply ignores the first Quit command.
    Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

    just chiming in to report similar activity on my new macbook pro 2.4, itunes 7.6.1.
    i have been using my powerbook 12" for years with itunes and never had this problem. now i get a brand new shiny macbook pro and itunes has slowed down to a crawl.
    my library is only 3050 songs (compared to 12040 songs on my powermac g4/733, which runs itunes on tiger fine, btw).
    itunes takes approx 1 minute to start and then as soon as i quit, i get the beachball. there is no option to click quit again, just have to wait several (2-3) minutes for it to terminate the process. of course i can force quit, but then none of my changes will be saved to the library.
    waiting for a fix. thanks for reading,
